The DeLorean's still parked under the blue lights — and in Episode 2 of Shot of Nostalgia: Season 7 – The SmackDown Six Era, we're stepping into the stretch where SmackDown built its identity. Acefield Retro breaks down Blueprint of Greatness, when Paul Heyman's creative direction started to take form. By late 2002, Raw leaned on promos and spectacle, while SmackDown focused on matches that told stories and defined characters. This episode features a watch-along of Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero (No DQ, 9/26/02) — a match that shows exactly how the SmackDown Six style came to life: physical, precise, and built on timing and trust. Also covered: • Angle vs. Mysterio at SummerSlam 2002 — A showcase of what WWE's new in-ring standard could be. • Angle & Benoit vs. Edge & Rey (8/29 SmackDown) — The match that revealed the SmackDown Six chemistry. • Los Guerreros form as a team — Eddie and Chavo add humor, arrogance, and cohesion to the division. • Tag Team Championship Tournament announcement — The moment Heyman's structure became official. By September, SmackDown wasn't trying to compete with Raw — it had its own rhythm, purpose, and storytelling approach. Presented by The Turnbuckle Tavern, where nostalgia meets conversation. Thanks to our Partners, NAPA TRACS, Today's Class, KUKUI, and Pit Crew Loyalty Watch Full Video Episode The automotive industry faces a growing crisis: as veteran trainers and educators retire, there's no clear path for the next generation to replace them. Creating quality training is time-intensive — often taking months to develop just one class — and the personal sacrifices required have deterred many from stepping up. This episode explores the urgent need to evolve automotive education, from rethinking long-form classes to developing shorter, high-impact sessions that better fit today's learning styles. At the heart of the conversation is a proposed solution: an industry “Trainer Boot Camp” designed to teach aspiring educators not only technical knowledge but also the art of presentation — structure, flow, delivery, and audience engagement. Another proposed solution is the creation of a Train the Trainers Scholarship to fund legacy educators like John Thornton and Scot Manna to design and lead this new initiative. Modeled after the WWE's NXT Performance Center, the idea is to proactively cultivate new education “superstars” rather than waiting for them to appear on their own. This is more than a conversation about teaching — it's a call to action to preserve and reinvent the future of automotive education before the knowledge gap becomes irreversible. This episode I dive into the double murder and suicide of former WWE superstar Chris Benoit and his family. Chris Benoit was easily one of the most popular WWE superstars in the early 2000's and was poised for super star greatness. After failing to show up for scheduled events, WWE officials decided to send police to his residence to check on him. What police found was only described as a major crime scene that involved 3 dead bodies. Chris Benoit was blamed for the murder of his wife and their 7 year old child before killing himself. What could have caused him to do such terrible acts or was it made to look like he committed the murders and there were other forces at play? Tune in and decide for yourself.
It's a jam-packed episode of The Nikki & Brie Show following Nikki's headline-making heel turn on Monday Night RAW—where she blindsided her tag partner Stephanie Vaquer and declared to the world, "the bitch is back." The internet exploded, and the twins are diving into all of it: the love, the hate, and why Nikki isn't asking for forgiveness (but you'll have to wait for MSG to hear her side!).But there's more than just wrestling this week. Brie drops the news that she's added two new members to the family—twin cats! She talks about how Bryan and Birdie talked her into it, and how litter boxes will be added to the her cleaning routine. The twins also gush about Bonita Bonita's dreamy Santa Barbara event and the arrival of their new Grand Cuvée! They reflect on the, magic of the town (and its very attractive people), and reveal some self-care secrets for fighting under-eye puffiness on the road. Spoiler: chamomile tea bags and gua sha are involved. It all wraps with a fiery Inspiration & Affirmation about rising from the ashes—and the reminder that real growth requires brave decisions.
