Today we discuss Of Possible Futures: The Tale of Zuckuss and 4-LOM. Zuckuss and 4-LOM are after Han Solo. Unlike the other bounty hunters, rather than chase their query, they decide to head for the Rebellion's rendezvous point and capture him there. In order to be accepted by the Rebellion, they rescue some Rebel survivor's from the Battle of Hoth.

IT'S THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF RETURN OF THE JEDI, AND A BATCH OF NEW COMICS GIVE NEW STORIES! For ep 128, Mike delves into the first 3 comics that tie-in with Return Of The Jedi; Jabba's Palace, Ewoks & Lando! Jabba's Palace shows a conspiracy where someone tries to take over from Jabba, Ewoks features 3 stories without dialogue that Ewoks tell each other around the campfire while in Lando, he & Chewie attempt to find full schematics of Jabba's Palace, so they can plan a break-in to save Han! There will be 5 more comics released across the year, which Mike will delve into later in 2023. Jabba's Palace 1 was released on March 29th 2023 and was written by Marc Guggenheim, with Alessandro Miracolo as artist and Dee Cunniffe as colour artist. Ewoks was released April 12th 2023, was written by Alyssa Wong and had multiple artists; Lee Garbett, Java Tartaglia, Paulina Ganucheau, Kyle Hotz, Rachelle Rosenberg & Casper Wijngaard. Lando was released May 3rd 2023, was written by Stephanie Phillips, with Alvaro López as artist and Antonio Fabela as colour artist. VADER GOES TO EXEGOL & RETURNS TO MUSTAFAR! This week, Mike embarks on the second volume of the 2020 Darth Vader comics; Into The Fire, where Palpatine tests Vader shortly after his failure in Empire Strikes Back, by sending him back to Mustafar to be hunted by the sith assassin; Ochi of Bestoon! In this story Vader battles many foes and even makes his way to Exegol (planet from The Rise Of Skywalker), plus Mike gives additional info on Coruscant, Mustafar, Sith homeworlds, the Eye of the Webbish Bog and more! This story is set just after Empire Strikes Back (3ABY). The writer for these comics was Greg Pak, Raffaele Ienco was the artist and Neeraj Menon was the colour artist. Issue 6 was released October 2020, Issue 11 was released April 2021 and the trade paperback collection was released June 2021. VALANCE IS HUNTED! This week, Mike embarks on the second volume of the Bounty Hunters comics; Target Valance, set shortly after the end of Empire Strikes Back! Valance escapes being hunted while protecting Cadeliah, before helping some Rebels hunted by the Ohnaka Pirate Gang, meanwhile Bossk is being hunted in the Great Hunt Of Malastare! Mike also gives additional info on Battle Droids, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, the Gran species and more! This story is set just after Empire Strikes Back (3ABY). The writer for these comics was Ethan Sacks, Paolo Villanelli was the artist and Arif Prianto was the colour artist. Issue 6 was released October 2020, Issue 11 was released April 2021 and the trade paperback collection was released June 2021. Beilert Valance first appeared in the canon in Han Solo: Imperial Cadet, which Mike tackled in ep 10 of SWCIC, the prequel to the Bounty Hunters comics is the Target Vader mini-series, which Mike tackled in ep 49 and the first volume of BH was in episode 75. This week Mike is doing another spoiler-free book review from the High Republic era; Into The Dark by Claudia Gray! Although the book is a “young adult” novel, it's still an excellent read for teenagers & adults alike and is part of the first wave of the first phase of High Republic content, focusing primarily on padawan Reath Silas & the drengir! In more detail, for the first half of the episode, Mike gives a bit of information on the other releases for The High Republic (the first two waves within Phase 1) and then delves into his spoiler-free review; primarily providing information from the blurb and within the first few pages; talking about the book's themes, what he enjoyed about it and how it impacts the rest of The High Republic. In the second half, Mike provides more details on the characters within the story and gives examples on how the book's themes work with the story being told and how it fits in with other High Republic material, which falls into light-spoiler territory. He gives plenty of warning before delving into his more detailed review, so you can listen to as little or as much info about Into The Dark before picking it up yourself – Mike ends the review with a general overview of the other High Republic books (released & soon to be released) and talking about where they fit chronologically with the comics & other High Republic content. Into The Dark was released February 2nd 2021 by Claudia Gray. She has also written the young adult novels Lost Stars and Leia: Princess Of Alderaan, as well as the “adult” novels Master & Apprentice and Bloodline. She has also recently announced The Fallen Star; the third “adult” book in The High Republic era. Into The Dark is from Phase 1, Wave 1 of The High Republic, also in Wave 1 is Light Of The Jedi and A Test Of Courage. Phase 1, Wave 2 includes The Rising Storm, Out Of The Shadows and Race To Crashpoint Tower and Wave 3 (due early 2022) will include Claudia Gray's “adult” novel The Fallen Star plus junior-novel Mission To Disaster and young-adult novel Midnight Horizon.
