We're back with a packed week in triathlon. Challenge Roth's release of Race Ranger data gave us plenty to dive into. We break down who spent the most time drafting, where the tech worked (and didn't), and what it might mean for the future of racing. Sam Laidlow returned to long course racing at Ironman Leeds with an incredible win, achieved off just 11 hours of training a week as he continues to bounce back from recent health struggles. Supertri Toronto brought fireworks. Alex Yee made his long-awaited return to triathlon, Georgia Taylor-Brown was back in the mix, and Cassandre Beaugrand looked set for the win until a lap miscount cost her the race. Then it's all eyes on the T100 French Riviera start lists with some serious names confirmed including Marten Van Riel, Jelle Geens, Lucy Charles-Barclay and Jessica Learmonth.
In this episode, I sit down with James Elvery, the creator of RaceRanger, to explore how his groundbreaking real-time drafting detection system is changing the face of triathlon. We unpack the landmark decision by Challenge Roth to publish professional drafting data, why they did it, what it revealed, and how it could reshape how fans, officials, and athletes view fairness within the long course triathlon format. From the early skepticism to the current wave of transparency and tech-driven officiating, James takes us behind the scenes of RaceRanger's evolution and what's next for its role in elite racing.Enjoy!

In honor of this podcast traveling to Germany for Challenge Roth, we decided to answer your questions on "all things 140.6." And we got so many questions about the Ironman distance that we had to break this episode into 2 parts. This first part focuses on the logisitcs of training for a full Ironman. How do you know when you are ready for one? What is the time commitment needed to train for one? Does the time commitment vary if you are a beginner or at the pointy end of the spectrum? And how do you manage work, family, life, and training if you DO want to set your sights on the 140.6 distance? It's all in here! Have a listen!
Let's meet Zachary Josie, a passionate triathlete with disproportionate dwarfism who's rewriting the limits of endurance sport. With humor, humility, and serious hustle, Zach shares his journey from a borrowed, ill-fitting bike to chasing a sub-10-hour finish at the legendary Challenge Roth in 2025. Zach opens up about the equipment barriers he's faced—and the innovative partnerships that helped him overcome them, including a custom bike and a tailored wetsuit. He also talks about the power of proper nutrition, mental toughness, and community support in pushing boundaries and redefining what's possible. You'll hear about: The early challenges Zach faced just getting into the sport His progression from Olympic distance to multiple Ironmans The humor he uses to navigate uncomfortable moments and build connection Why language matters when describing athletes with disabilities His training strategy for his epic race in Roth, Germany And what it means to belong in a sport that's still evolving toward inclusion Zach reminds us that triathlon isn't just about physical limits—it's about heart, courage, and the communities that rise to support each athlete's unique journey. This one will make you laugh, reflect, and believe in the power of showing up as your full self. So,Let's Tri this!
