This week, Cuff Daddy and The American Pharaoh sit down with Dr. Alexis Dixon—an overall badass, foot & ankle surgeon, and glider pilot. Yes, really. We cover everything from building a solo orthopedic practice from scratch to launching a side hustle in medico-legal consulting (shoutout to OrthoLegal). Alexis breaks down how to create a clinic vibe that patients actually want to return to—and how to make the OR playlist hit every time. Also in this episode: Why “patient-first” isn't just marketing fluff What flying planes and running a practice have in common Music in medicine: yes, it matters Consulting gigs that don't suck the life out of you We cracked up, learned stuff, and might have rethought our side hustle game. Standard Podstar vibes. Ultimate OR Bangers playlist got some love too.
Cuff Daddy and The American Pharaoh are back moderately hydrated, and maybe even emotionally refreshed. After failing (or redefining?) the 75 Hard challenge, they dive into the real grind—surgery, mentorship, and maybe a little pickleball. Enter Dr. William N. Levine, orthopedic surgeon and certified legend. We talk shop about the surgical lifestyle, playing sports without tearing something, and how mentorship is way more than just checking boxes. From social media shoutouts that aren't cringe, to handling OR chaos with calm, Dr. Levine drops insight bombs like it's nothing. Also: • Are you genetically built to run on 4 hours of sleep? • The weirdly noble art of listening to patients • And the case for not retiring at 60 if you love your job It's a little real, a little ridiculous—just how we like it.
Cuff Daddy and The American Pharaoh catch up with their old buddy Dr. Navid Nazemi—chiropractor, golf junkie, and lowkey philosopher. We talk about how he stumbled into chiropractic school, what it's like running a practice, and why teamwork between docs actually matters. There's plenty of bro-science, a little real science, and just enough introspection to make you think “huh, maybe there's something to this.” We get into sports med, cracking backs, and whether music can actually heal—or at least make the OR playlist a little less trash. Oh, and podcasting? Way harder than it looks. Bonus Round: We built the Ultimate OR Bangers playlist so your next case has zero skips.

The Brothers Brandt Podcast – Episode 76: American Pharaoh & The Brandts Win The Haskell!!In 2015, legendary thoroughbred racehorse, American Pharaoh trained by Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert marched his way to a dominating performance in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes propelling him to become only the 12th horse to capture The Triple Crown! It ended a 37-year drought. American Pharaoh was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated and Vogue magazine that summer. Some have said he was the greatest athlete of all-time (if you count horses). After winning the Triple Crown, his next race in 2015 was The William Hill Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park in New Jersey where we grew up. Naturally, we attended this event in only a way The Brothers Brandt could. Bill Murray, Derek Jeter, the Governor of New Jersey and over 60,000 other patrons were on hand for the most memorable day in horse race history in the State of New Jersey. Needless to say, American Pharaoh on national television galloped his way to an impressive win that day and The Brothers Brandt made the most of our day at the historic Monmouth Park race track. Enjoy this epic story!--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thebrothersbrandt/support

Once in a while a thoroughbred comes along who blows away the field, securing a glorious place in racing history. Names like American Pharaoh and Secretariat come to mind. Tiz the Law, a New York-bred, 3-year-old bay stallion, might just be one of those horses. The Triple Crown hopeful already nailed one leg this year, the Belmont Stakes, winning handily by several lengths. In this episode of The Eagle, we'll catch up with Tiz at his summer training HQ in Saratoga, where he's fresh off a win at the Run Happy Travers Stakes. We'll see him in action through the eyes and reporting of Times Union horse racing writer Tim Wilkin, who is one of only a handful of media allowed into the race course in this most unusual season.
Will Jerry Jones ever give a shit? Probably not, but Massey and Graham DO as we break down the current situation in the NBA, The Batman trailer and American Pharaoh's (potential) return to the track Saturday September 5th!

When he was mayor of Chicago, Richard J. Daley was known as staunch supporter of law and order to put down civil unrest. But when he was 17 years old, many people his neighborhood participated in a brutal attack on Chicago's Black Belt, and nobody knows for sure if Daley took part. Today we'll take a closer look at a question that Chicagoans have asked for decades: did Mayor Daley take part in a race riot? This valentines week Bigg Wu and Cadillac Davis discuss a real life heartbreak, the grammy's, Floyd Mayweather's stance on Gucci, Childish Gambino's "this is america" falling back into the hot seat with Jase Harley' "American Pharaoh " and much more! @dna4culture dna4culture@gmail.com
Who is Jase Harley? I met Jase a few weeks ago. A super-talented artist and an amazing musician. I was hooked to his music immediately. One week later, the whole hip-hop world was talking about Jase Harley. Why? One of the biggest hits of 2018 – Childish Gambino’s “This is America” sounds VERY similar to Jase’s song “American Pharaoh” – created in 2016. Do we talk about this in the interview? Not really; INSP.EAT is not that much about sensations. We rather talk about creativity, inspiration, about Jase’s philosophy of Urban Futurism. Why he doesn’t agree with Picasso’s “Good artists copy, great artists steal”? Check the video interview from the Forbidden Spot in Prague with Jase Harley.

Elise’s guest today is Heather Holderby, a former intern at the Kentucky Equine Management Internship program (KEMI). KEMI was founded in 2000 to help young people who are interested in a career with horses -- but lack the experience, knowledge, and contacts in the industry -- to get that first break. Through KEMI, Heather has had experiences with some of the finest Thoroughbreds and professionals in the horse world — including working at Ashford Stud, where she was among the lucky few to welcome Triple Crown winner American Pharoah straight off the trailer from winning the Breeder's Cup. ome listeners are accusing Childish Gambino, also known as Donald Glover, of plagiarism over his provocative hit, "This is America." A Reddit user pointed out the similarities between "This is America" and "American Pharaoh" by Jase Harley, sparking a debate online. The tracks have a similar sound, and share similar themes in the lyrics. Glover raps, "This is America / Don't catch you slippin' up / Look at how I'm livin' now / Police be trippin' now," while Harley's lyrics include, "Ah, I'm young and I'm black in America / They stoppin', they frisk us and jail us up / I don't understand what they jealous of / See they crucify us and nail us up."

Holly G and Jeff Shain, PGATour.com and Prime Sports Network.com are in the studio on the eve of The Open Championship being played at the St. Andrews Golf Course in Fife, Scotland. You can follow all the action of the Open Championship with this link to the Syndicated Widget. Jeff has visited St. Andrews and says that there is no other place else that eats, sleeps and breathes golf like the people in Scotland who live around St. Andrews. There is as much away from the golf course and there is at The Old Course. The fans are very knowledgeable of the game and appreciative of good golf. Mike Kern, Philadelphia Daily News, calls in from Scotland to talk to Holly and Jeff about the weather surrounding the Open Championship and how it will change the player's game over the next four days on the Old Course. There's a chance of rain Thursday and Friday and wind on the weekend. Mike says it's going to be a typical British Open and the rain will probably soften the course. Holly and Mike talk about Jordan Spieth's chances to win his 3rd consecutive Major championship this week at the Open Championship. Mike doesn't feel that Spieth will be able to do it because of the odds that are against him and are with the field. With all the great players of the past trying to win three in a row, the odds are not in favor of Spieth to win his 3rd Major. Dustin Johnson is a favorite because of his length off the tee. Jeff asks Mike who he thinks will challenge Spieth if Jordan makes a run, who will make the run with him? Mike feels that a player who can adjust to the conditions and also hit the ball far off the tee. Dustin Johnson or Justin Rose. Spieth came back from 102nd last week at the John Deere Classic to win in a playoff. Mike feels that Spieth is the best putter in the world right now and if you can putt you always have a chance. Holly feels that Jordan has the mental toughness that it takes and he doesn't sound like a 21-year-old. Holly and Mike wrap up the segment talking about the news that Rory might be out until January. Damon Hack, The Golf Channel, called in just before the show and spoke with Holly and Jeff about the Open Championship ... the weather and how it can affect players like it did Rory. Louis Oosthuizen was able to run away with it five years ago, because he was 15 minutes ahead of the weather and was already sitting in the club house watching the rest of the field play. Loves the bunkers in the United Kingdom golf courses and says there is nothing like them anywhere in the U.S. Holly talks about Jordan Spieth's chances. Damon said that he loved Spieth's quote from the press conference, "I'm not here to win 3 straight majors, I'm just trying to win the Open Championship." Tiger Woods, said he's not dead and buried, he still wants to play and is still hungry but I'm going through swing changes again and there will be steps forward and steps back. Damon questions whether Tiger's B and A games eclipse Spieth's and Dustin Johnson's now? Tiger feels comfortable at The Old Course. Holly asks Damon about the fans and the Open Championship crowds. "They love the game and applaud great shots even if they are still 40 feet from the hole. Extremely passionate and grateful and their role in this great game of golf. Damon loves Rickie Fowler's chances this week coming off his win last week in the Scotland Open and loves links players. Adam Scott reunited with Steve Williams and maybe Paul Casey's chances. A free week of golf instruction from the Gary Gilchrist Summer Junior Golf Camp valued at $1,850 is available to win just by registering on www.thegolfinsiders.com. Dr Bob Winters, Mental Conditioning Coach from the David Leadbetter Academy, calls in from the Nike Golf Schools where he heads up the Nike Junior Golf Program near Williams College in northern part of Massachusetts. Holly asks how a player gets over past events like Dustin Johnson and deal with situations, worked with so many major open champions in the past 20 years I don't think they ever get over it. Failing is the fertilizer for future success. Dr. Bob says you can't ponder on it too much cause it destroys their focus. Remember Scott Hoch at the Masters and how he seemingly "gave it away" to Nick Faldo. Be interesting to see how DJ will rebound at the Open Championship from his loss at Chambers Bay. Dr Bob says that how you win a grand slam like Spieth is pursuing or win the Triple Crown like American Pharaoh just did is that you have to go out and compete in the event to win it. Jeff asks Dr. Bob how he feels the pairings at the Open Championship might affect DJ who is paired with Spieth given that Jordan just beat Johnson in the last event they faced each other? DJ can use it for motivation. Dr. Bob Winters also pointed out that there are a lot of distractions at the Open Championship other than just playing with the other player. "A key is taking ownership of the now and being in the present moment," Winters said. "If you dwell on the past or think of the future you wind up way off course." Mistake Free Golf by Dr Bob Winters 407-340-7785. Holly and Jeff wrap up the show briefly talking about The U.S Women's Open Championship won by In Gee Chung. On today's Satellite Sisters, I have a tale of corporate governance to tell. I was the subject of a story in the Wall Street Journal this week based on my resignation in protest from the Board of Directors of a publicly-traded company. Please listen to the whole conversation with Julie, Lian and me. I promise it has a a few laughs along the way, like the sound effects I make of my head exploding. I resigned from the board of Quicksilver because my fellow directors left me out of their conversations about firing one CEO and appointing another CEO. Hiring and firing the CEO is the most important job of a corporate director. Because I had a previous professional relationship with the (now-former) CEO, the board assumed they knew how I would have voted based on a biased assumption that I'd vote to keep my "friend. " Because that's what girls do, right?? Make emotional decisions about friends instead of strategic decisions based on business facts? They said to me "we thought you would be too conflicted." What? Too conflicted to carry out my duties as a director? Too conflicted to act in the best interests of the shareholders? Thanks for the vote of confidence, guys. The second more critical issue is that instead of letting my voice be heard, and simply outvoting me, they chose to SILENCE me. I learned an important lesson here. Even when you have earned a seat at the table, they can put you in a soundproof booth. The third issue is that the four directors I spoke to personally after the fact all reinforced the idea that "it was very important that the CEO not know in advance what was happening." These four fellow directors were completely unselfconscious about saying this to my face. In other words, girls can't keep a secret. To several of them I actually said "Do you even hear yourself??" What I wanted my fellow directors to hear from me when I spoke to them one-on-one was this: Some directors are not more equal than other directors. I was elected to the board because I am a very accomplished global marketer, which is what Quiksilver needed, not because I was Andy's friend. I wish you had seen me as a accomplished professional, as your peer. You did not. I believe the assumptions about me were the result of an unconscious gender bias (girls can't make tough calls, girls can't keep secrets, girls won't speak out when we marginalize them). I do not believe that a male former colleague of the CEO would have been marginalized in the same way. I also do not believe that I would have been treated this way if there were other women on that board. I know that women are underrepresented on corporate boards of publicly-traded companies. I was proud to be one of them. I am disappointed that I could not continue. I decided that I could not continue to serve on the board because the rest of the board clearly did not trust or respect me. Because of this breach, I could not rebuild my trust in them. On today's Satellite Sisters, we also cover some other subjects: Lian has an astronomy report. Are you familiar with the behavior or Pluto's moons? They tumble and wobble chaotically in space. Sound like your life?? Ours, too! Julie has a royalty reports. She salutes Triple Crown Winner American Pharoah, French Open and 20 time Grand Slam Winner Serena Williams and, of course, Prince George and Prince Charlotte just for being so dang adorable.
