Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity. 16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.Eccl. 2:17   Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit. 18 Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me. 19 And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity. 20 Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun. 21 For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil. 22 For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun? 23 For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity. 24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God. 25 For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I? 26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.— — —Watch/Listen here using our Subsplash WebShare Playerhttps://cbcponca.subspla.sh/ngt4dcpListen on Archive.orghttps://archive.org/download/020724-wed-facebook-stream/020724WED-FacebookStream.mp3

But the meat of this sumptuous episode is a reading from a deeply mysterious and haunting, 14th-century Arthurian legend that takes place at a Christmas feast; one rudely interrupted by an axe-wielding Green Knight who demands a volunteer to join him in a deadly game. This podcast is GOOD FOR YOU! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...In this mind-blowing episode we have an exclusive interview with the world-famous Professor Tim Spector, expert in the human microbiome - this population of friendly microbes that lives inside all of us and which acts almost like an extra organ, boosting our immune system, fighting disease and even influencing our mental health.According to Spector, these microbes are so numerous and influential that we're all effectively, 'half human, half bug.'Spector has studied how what we eat and drink influences our gut microbiome and thus our health - and the good news is that red wine drunk daily in moderation can definitely boost our microbiome in beneficial ways. Hallelujah! So, it's a case of: Eat, Drink Red and Be Merry. But not too merry...This is an episode not to miss! Other questions we explore include:Why red wine is better for our health than white wine or other forms of boozeHow much is too much when it comes to wine and healthWhy we may need to re-think the concept of 'hazy' wine or decanting (to take wine off the sediment) given it's thought that even dead yeast cells can be good for us How fermentation is key to health benefits because it increases the complexity of polyphenols Why wine could be the source of the ultimate health drinkWhy drinking as many different red grape varieties as possible is a good idea because each will nourish different microbes, and diversity is key for healthWhy we need to take official government health advice (and those peddling supplements) with a pinch of saltHow people playing around with precision fermentation, microbes and other modern techniques will revolutionise wine and beer in the next few yearsAlong the way we talk natural wine, polyphenols, wild ferments, sweet spots, long lunches, hangovers and Big Ben. As ever, we find time to enjoy and recommend a few bottles of wine (and benefit our microbiome while doing so). Her favorite thing is actually working with the kids, because she knows she's really good with playing games and teaching them all kinds of games to play with their Angels to get solid answers, so they are never feeling lonely, they know how to heal themselves, you know, how to heal others, it's just a beautiful class and another one that parents jump in on. Wow! So then on Wednesdays after Mr. Gordon does... We don't have time to go through what they do in public school with everything, so we actually condense it the best we can for the most for the kids to learn, like mix in their writing subjects or their grammar stuff with a science or social studies, so that way they're getting both practices.  (06:10)•  They learn about super foods and the benefits of them all and why they want to eat them, and it's crazy, some of them will find as craziest ingredients and they put it in smoothies... That works, it counts. And the once a month we go on a field trip, a kid get's to host, since we're virtual, as long as there's a signal where they're at and that we can all join on Zoom. They get to host the field trip either at a park or on a trail or a museum or any kind of event. So that's been kind of fun. Yeah, we try to keep it as much as we can, and as soon as we are in a building... Oh my gosh, the way we will grow.  (12:41)•  Heaven on earth at first is the Virtual School, but as I create the school more, like I said, when we do have that location, I would like it to be  property or backing up to some kind of property that we can have access to some kind of National Park or something that... Some kind of nature. So you never know, it's something that we can have access to to where the kids can go out there with their little sketch pads and study the forest or study whatever is by there. They kind of silly call it Holistic Hogwarts. So even though it's not, we don't do any pagan or witchcraft, really like that we are spiritual and earth-based and all religions, God base. We want to mix, being able to tap into the earth and have them planting. So they're going to have their own gardens and they currently, already do... Each kid is supposed to have their own little plant... At least one plant at home to study as we go, an herb or vegetable or something that they can harvest.  (19:51)•  They'll be responsible for creating their own food and blessing the food. If someone's in a cranky mood, we don't want that child in culinary that day. But honestly, like I said, or we're going to go do something, shift them to a different time or class or something, that way we don't want any sad energy into the food. That's one of the things that we really try to teach our kids is, you know what we put into our bodies, not really even just the energy, if you're eating an animal or anything, the energy that they have, what they've been going through and what they felt. We teach them all that stuff, it's very important, that way they can just really respect what's going in their bodies and be grateful for it and ask for nourishment. If they're eating something not so good, how do you bless it so it doesn't really affect you as bad? It's to not saying, you should always have it, but how do you do it when you're in a pinch?  We travel a lot. (21:13) ABOUT SPRING  RAYNE:Spring Rayne is the founder and visionary behind Starseed Holistic School, where the basis for learning is creativity, independent thinking, passion, exploration and all that good stuff that we standardize test right out of our kids. She sees children as holistic beings of mind, body and spirit. They're naturally curious and full of wonder so she wants to create a school that supports that. Her vision is to create a school that focuses on whole brain learning, holistic health and wellness, building character and consciousness, honoring multiple intelligences, and teaches social responsibility.Spring Rayne is a Mind-Body-Soul Holistic Health Coach, two-time published author, a Medium, Health Intuitive and Header, a gluten-free, vegan, raw food chef, Master Herbalist, Nutrition Coach, and Karuna Reiki Master. Spring is the author of two cookbooks: Eat Conscious and Be Merry and Healthy Family, Happy Family. She's the creator of Holistic Naturals by Spring Rayne, a 100% organic, wild-crafted fair-trade line of herbal products that help with everything from insomnia, pain relief and detoxification to increased energy and hormonal support.Spring is intensely passionate about teaching people how to take better care of their minds, bodies and spirits. She has helped many clients heal themselves from a wide variety of dis-eases, from insomnia to lupus. She's witnessed how difficult it is to teach adults to change their lifestyle habits so that they take better care of themselves in order to heal. As a result, she believes that it's critical to instill healthy habits early on in childhood as well as create an environment that honors the child holistically – and teaches them to honor themselves, too.In February of 2012, Spring was diagnosed with four kinds of cancer, which led her on a journey of self-healing. She used healing herbs and gluten-free, vegan raw foods, as well as meditation and visualization to transform her health, and ultimately her life. By May of that same year, she was cancer-free. What it showed her is that the body can heal itself…as long as you can get out of the way and remove the obstacles to healing. This woke her up to her purpose – to help people take responsibility for their health and well-being so they can live their most vibrant, full, happy lives. As a child, Spring always struggled in school. She was very smart, but didn't obtain information the same way as other children did. She was a much deeper person than any of her peers and had a lot of spiritual gifts, so she was often misunderstood. As a child, she didn't quite understand being an empath and psychic healer. She just knew that she wasn't the same as the other kids. Growing up in a strong Christian background and attending Christian school, they all viewed her gifts with fear and she was programmed that it was a curse, as her gifts always got her into trouble. Not to mention that she felt completely stifled in her creativity! She often wondered, “If God made me in his perfection, then why did he curse me with gifts?” No one could ever answer this question for her, so she shut down and went silent for a LONG time, until her early twenties when she finally started embracing her gifts. The key was when she started to work on healing her inner self.  Her knowledge and gifts started to expand from that moment forward. She also realized the more that she embraced a Holistic lifestyle, the more toxins left the body, which allowed her to heal faster and have more brain power. Many years ago, Spring was shown that one purpose in her journey is to open a school for kids like herself where they can learn to embrace their special gifts by being themselves in a supported Holistic environment.  A place where they can expand their amazing talents. A warm place to be loved and supported. Each and every one of us have special gifts and by incorporating a Holistic healing approach, gifts can grow faster and further.CONNECT WITH SPRING:Websites:www.springrayne.comwww.holisticnaturals.comwww.starseedholisticschool.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/StarseedHolisticSchoolInstagram:  https://www.instagram.com/starseed_holistic_schoolWAYS TO CONNECT WITH LARK:Visit my website: healintohappiness.comFollow me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Heal-Into-HappyTwitter: @healintohappy

Ecclesiastes is one of the most difficult books in scripture. In this episode Ross and Clay wrestle with the text without jumping straight to the Jesus Juke to which Christians so often resort.
