Send us a textIn this episode of our mini-series on homebirth transfer, we share the story of Tiahn, a mother who, inspired by the documentary Birth Time, knew that homebirth was the path for her. As she approached 42 + weeks, concerns about potential pre-eclampsia arose, but she made the choice to decline induction and continue her pregnancy.Throughout her journey, Tiahn faced significant pressure from friends and family, especially towards the end of her pregnancy and even during labour. Despite this, she stayed firm in her decision to follow her instincts and birth her baby on her own terms. After a long labour at home, she opted to transfer to the hospital. During labour, she chose to rest with an epidural, but complications soon emerged when her baby's heart rate dropped and meconium was found in the waters after an artificial rupture of membranes. Initially planning for private OB and hospital care, Rachel explored public hospitals and homebirth midwives before choosing a homebirth after watching Birth Time. She experienced PROM and prodromal labour, and during active labour, transferred to the hospital due to her baby's elevated heart rate. Rachel reflects on the challenges that followed, particularly hospital policy placing her baby in special care. For someone who, like so many out there, had been under the illusion that their hideous cesarean births were ‘just the way birth was' and not justifiably classified as traumatic, Kiki, having just birthed her third baby at home, has quite the story to tell! She and her husband, Adam, share about initially being under the veil of disempowering conditioning, and the journey they went on to achieve an undisturbed home birth just 6 weeks ago. Kiki's is a powerful story of courage and self-determination. The system had her labelled as ‘high risk' due to multiple factors that Kiki came to see were not based on good evidence, didn't align with what she instinctively knew, and were tools in the patriarchal birth machine, designed to keep her scared and under the control of the system. Once she learnt that she was rightfully the one behind the steering wheel, Kiki stood in her power and readied herself for the birth that she and her baby needed and deserved. I had the honour of being a part of Kiki's pregnancy journey, helping her to learn the truth about her earlier births, and sourcing the tools, understandings and wise woman sisterhood that she needed in order to take radical responsibility for the way her birth would unfold. At almost 39 weeks of pregnancy, her midwife dropped her, afraid of Kiki's uncompromising approach to planning her birth. This turned out to be an absolute blessing, opening the door for some incredible midwives to rally around Kiki, supporting her right to birth her way. Kiki now seeks to pay it forward. She has found her voice and has a fire in her belly, and she's determined to do all she can to tear down the patriarchal structures that keep birthing women from accessing their power in the wondrous rite of passage that birth is. The 2:14 PM time of birth I use here for mystery writer Agatha Christie is new information. When I wrote about her in Yesterday's Sky in early 2008, I used her then-current birth time of 4:00 AM, which I found on seemingly good authority. Later, it emerged that "a midwife named Mrs. Shelton-Price who, according to her bill, had charged one crown and two shillings to deliver Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller at 2:14 pm on Monday afternoon, September 15." This new time of birth now gives Agatha Christie's chart a Rodden Rating of AA—and a very different look. What follows is a rewrite of my previous analysis. Consider it a replacement for chapter fifteen for all editions and printings of Yesterday's Sky starting from 2008 and running into the third quarter of 2024. In all new printings, this chapter will replace the previous incorrect one. As ever, astrology's Achilles' Heel is bad birth information. With someone you know, you can often sense that something is off in the chart. With strangers, you're much more vulnerable. Four billion copies of her books are in print. She is often described as the best-selling author in history. Her play, The Mousetrap, is the longest running one in the world, having opened in London on November 25, 1952 and still going strong as of this writing. But it is for her murder mysteries that Agatha Christie is best known. Her work practically defined the genre. Her vain Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, with his waxed mustache and his brilliant deductions humanized the infallible “Sherlock Holmes” archetype. Poirot is the only fictional character ever to be given an obituary in The New York Times, after Christie killed him off in her 1975 novel, Curtain. That's some indication of the popularity of her work. Her delightful Miss Marple, who was at least as brilliant as Hercule Poirot and a lot more charming, made it safe for older, middle-class ladies on both sides of the Atlantic to have a formidable gleam of mischief in their eyes, along with garnering some respect for their well-tempered intelligence and insight. Anyone can say “don't underestimate me.” Miss Marple's irrefutable wisdom made that honorable sentiment irrefutable. Listen In...

Knowing your exact birth time is critical for accurate astrology interpretations. Many people don't ever think about the exact time they were born. It simply isn't necessary information elsewhere. But not in astrology. It needs to be as close to the exact time you took your first breath as possible. Four minutes can alter several key interpretation factors. Billy Greenwood, Judi's co-host on the KLOU morning show and on iHeartRadio Big Classic Hits station on the free app, knew he was born early in the morning, around 2 am, but not sure the exact minute. However, through a little-known technique in astrology, combined with a major accident when Billy was 3 years old, astrologer Thomas Miller found the time from the planet in the sky that “rules” our arms and legs.
