With a smaller team it can feel hard to know what to prioritize when it comes to marketing. It may feel like you need (or should) do it all. Email is a powerful tool in your marketing toolbox. That doesn't mean you have to do it all at once. Instead, start with the goals and priorities in mind and build over time. Trust me, you'll never regret having an email list of donors and potential donors you can connect with. What you'll learn: → when and how to prioritize email marketing. → power of adding value and lead magnets. → how often to send emails. → ways to repurpose social media in your emails. Want to skip ahead? Here are key takeaways: [4:52] It's all about doing what you need to do to raise money. This could be prioritizing personal interactions over digital strategies if that's not your skillset. Then, as your resources expand, so can your marketing strategy. The strategies should focus on acquisition. [6:08] Encourage people to get on your email list by adding value. This is most commonly created through a lead magnet. It gives them immediate value and also helps you get their information. Don't forget to have a nurture sequence as a follow-up to continue adding value. [17:04] Send your general newsletters weekly. This keeps you top of mind and allows you to share your mission more often. If you're strugling with what to put in your emails, repurpose the content you already have. Take high performing social media posts and put them in your emails. I am so excited to share with you all this conversation with Matt McCain and Michael Boychuk, the Co-Founders of Little Hands of Stone. Both of their first jobs end in truly wild fashion that you'll not want to miss. They share a bit of their journey to getting to where they are today with their own creative agency. They share about not "buying the truck," which is a great metaphor about not overreaching and spending too much at the start up of a company. They share about the origin of the name of their company, Little Hands of Stone and how it applies to their approach to business. They share about how they learned that they needed to grow the business differently and the shock that that was. As business partners they talk about having a healthy and honest partnership in the work that they do, especially around how much they choose to work each week. They talk about how important the partnership has been for them as they are able to balance each other out and respect each other even when they disagree on what to do. Nicolle Pangis is an evangelizer of balance: between linear and digital television advertising, between tech and creative, between quality data and privacy. And balance between work and life. It's the “ands” that drive her – apropos the company name of TV ad sales platform, Ampersand, where she has been CEO for the past five years. Insider Interviews podcast host E.B. Moss spoke with Pangis about a range of topics impacting the ad and marketing industry: from the latest advances in media measurement to the importance of embracing retail media networks. Additionally, this fast-moving leader who previously headed up digital shop 24/7 and GroupM's Xaxis, discussed the ah-ha moments that sparked a commitment to promoting greater work-life balance for both she and her team, and building a more equitable industry. A perfect lead in to this conversation? You'll hear first from More Labs VP of Marketing, Lydia Boychuk, who walks us through how she drives trial and word of mouth -- or "sips to lips" -- for their nutritional supplement start up company focused on well-being. Boychuk discusses how she balances retail and DTC marketing with podcast advertising. Speaking of which, "sleep better," "focus more," and prevent that post-partying head with 20% off any purchase, thanks to Lydia. Use promo code insider20 at morelabs.com! In the ever-evolving world of TV advertising, Ampersand stands out as the biggest company you've never heard of. With the ability to aggregate and activate data on a household level, their potential for creative and technical implementations is vast. But with the industry becoming more fragmented, can they navigate the challenges ahead and continue to deliver relevance without crossing the line into creepiness? Find out in this thought-provoking conversation, which is a must-listen for anyone interested in the evolving landscape of television advertising and marketing in general...and personal well-being! Relevancy of advertising is good; a creepiness factor is bad. - Nicolle Pangis Timestamped summary of this episode: Introduction and how to support Insider Interviews at buymeacoffee.com/mossappeal Insider Interviews podcast host E.B. Marc joins us to talk about his incredible journey, how he does so much community work when he's not at his full-time job, and the amazing strides forward his community has made in large due to his efforts.”

It's an environmental problem that will cost hundreds of billions of dollars to tackle, and successive Alberta governments have lacked the political will to address it.Hundreds of thousands of oil and gas wells exist across the province, many of which are inactive and at risk of abandonment. For decades the Alberta Energy Regulator has allowed large producers to offload their cleanup obligations onto smaller ones, that then go insolvent or bankrupt.Alberta's new Premier has pushed a pilot program called the R-Star that will reward polluters for doing what they're legally obligated to do anyway by letting them off the hook for billions in royalties owed to the province.Smith urged the government to adopt R-Star while lobbying for corporate interests last year. It was rejected by Kenney's UCP. Now, Energy Minister Peter Guthrie said he'll make it a "top priority."Researcher and industry watchdog Regan Boychuk joins host Stephen Magusiak to talk about what he calls the R-Star “scam,” and Alberta's history of regulatory capture by the fossil fuel industry.Support the Show.

Sara Boychuk has been a “photographer” since she was a child. She photographed on film and was published at a young age. After school, she decided to move into the medical field following 2 degrees and when she got deep into nursing Sara was truly reminded how precious and finite life is. Taking pictures freezes a time in life that is never replicated- for that brief moment.. time stands still. She cherishes that so deeply and seeks this stillness in everything she does. Living in Canada Sara gets to enjoy adventures in all seasons: hiking, kayaking, skiing, snorkelling, and a whole lot of general frolicking in nature. We discuss how she made the decision to move into full time photography and where that journey has taken her along with a lot more. I hope you enjoy the show! #97 Andriy Boychuk from Flowium: Using Email Marketing to Boost Customer Loyalty This month our focus has been on the best email marketing practices. Keeping in tune with the theme, we've got an exciting episode for you. Join our founder, Daniel Budai, in conversation with Andriy Boychuk, founder of Flowium. Who better to talk about customer retention and loyalty strategies, than two email marketing experts that are captains of their leading email marketing agencies. In this episode Daniel and Andriy will uncover: ✔️ Andriy's email marketing venture ✔️ Best marketing practices for e-commerce businesses ✔️ Effective strategies for customer retention Andriy's email marketing venture Originally from Ukraine, Andriy's journey began with running a website for Ukrainian immigrants. His curiosity to find innovative and cost-efficient ways to promote this blog landed him in his early experiments with email marketing. Most of his early knowledge came from listening to podcasts. After spending three years as an engineer in a tech company, Andriy realized that he wasn't passionate about his job. Determined to find where his passion lies, he quit and began to explore the opportunities that Upwork had to offer. He soon realized the untapped potential in email marketing and dove right in, to focus on providing these services for all kinds of businesses and professionals. Enamored by the result-oriented, and data-driven approach used in email marketing for e-commerce businesses, Andriy found his niche. Starting as a solopreneur charging on an hourly basis, he experimented with various payment models and structures, before landing on starting an agency with a retainership customer model. Flowium is now a full-scale email marketing agency with over 40 employees. Similar to Budai Media, they offer specialized email marketing campaigns and strategies to e-commerce businesses across the globe. Best marketing practices for e-commerce businesses Having worked closely with various e-commerce entrepreneurs, both Daniel and Andriy are here to share their two cents on marketing practices that can help e-commerce businesses succeed. We asked Andriy if there is any piece of advice he'd like to give e-commerce businesses. Here's what he had to share: “A lot of business owners try to act as marketing directors, but they have so many more responsibilities. Having a project manager for all their marketing can help provide direction and help agencies align with the company goals because we can deliver, but we need to know what the needs of the company are.” As an e-commerce expert, Andriy has rightfully identified how customer loyalty programs help boost sales and increase customer lifetime value. However, email marketing is just one part of this strategy, a marketing director helps enforce an overall strategy ensuring that landing pages, SEO practices, and advertisements all align with the email campaigns. In order to succeed, e-commerce businesses need to outline their goals and objectives. Effective strategies for customer retention Running an email marketing agency, one of the most common questions we get is about customer conversion and retention. “Businesses want us to focus on converting those one-time buyers to two-time buyers, two-time buyers to three buyers, and so on to continue increasing the lifetime value of the customers. One of the most effective retention strategies to do so is a customer loyalty program.” After conducting a case study analyzing 25,000 email subscribers, Andriy found that loyalty members spent $400 on average, whereas regular customers spent only $90. His experiment revealed that the lifetime value of loyalty members was 4X more than that of regular customers. This observation has led him to focus on enhancing customer loyalty programs through email marketing. Loyalty software like Smile enables businesses to track loyalty points. E-commerce businesses can then segment their customers to personalize email campaigns giving marketing a more targeted and goal-oriented approach. Email marketing is all about understanding your customers. Loyalty programs allow you to incentivize them as you learn more about them. To know more about best practices for email marketing do check out our previous podcasts, and case studies. On that note, we'd like to bring this episode to a close. Thank you for listening! As I wrote on my blog, Islesblogger this week - Jack Foley, AKA Super Jack got the chance to meet his idol Robin Lehner. If you haven't seen the post please give it a quick read. I also got to spend a good chunk of the game on Monday night with Jack and his family too. It's a night I won't ever forget. Here's the Tweet heard round the world, the one that caused everything to happen the way it did. It currently has almost 4,000 retweets and over 14,000 likes! https://twitter.com/lkieferfoley/status/1112458180708179968 Episode 30 is a little different and a departure from the normal content you'll find here. We talk about some of the health issues Jack has been through in his young life and some other topics that will make people listen with a tilted head. I've been drawn to Jack and his family since I first heard his story. As you can see from the sign, Jack has experienced a host of medical problems during his young life. He's had THREE open heart surgeries to help with being born with HALF A HEART! He's beat every single set of odds and blown through all the expectations Doctors had set for him. He is truly an amazing young man - and I am happy to call him a friend now. It's about Fate, too. In my post on Islesblogger, I talk about Fate. I really feel like fate has brought us together - we go into that in the podcast. You may not believe in fate, and that's ok. Prior to recording, Super Jack made his Mom and I wait while he finished up a game of NHL19. His Mom told me afterwards that he played with Islanders great Pat LaFontaine - because of his work with the Companions in Courage Foundation (CiC). I happen to be a big Patty La fan (and a gamer) so he got a pass. Jack and I talked about the reasons why he picked Robin Lehner and about this huge hug from the big man: https://twitter.com/RobinLehner/status/1112919085820542976 He talks like someone much older than he is - and probably understand why at this point. He did tell me though that his likes Robin because he's gone through a lot in his hockey career, like he has gone through in his short life. It's a remarkable story the way things turned out. Jack not only got a stick from Robin, he got one from Thomas Greiss as well. He met a large group of players - Jack proudly listed them off as Scott Mayfield, Johnny Boychuk, Josh Bailey, Mat Barzal, and Anthony Beauvillier. He was really treated like royalty, His Mom, Lauren even told me that Boychuk remembered him from a previous meeting and seemed more excited to see HIM than Jack was to see the player. Lauren also told me that Jack will be attending the Matt Martin Hockey Camp this summer, so that's something else exciting for him to experience in the coming months. We made plans to hit the ice together as well - something I know I am really looking forward to. How's Jack handling the fame? I asked Jack if his new fame was causing him extra attention at school. He said everyone was asking him questions and wanted him to give them shoutouts when he was on Channel 7 News on Tuesday night. He didn't get the chance to give shoutouts, but we made sure he gave plenty during the podcast. We also talked about the Islanders season and the stretch run to the playoffs and who he thinks the Islanders will face and what he thinks they can do. It's a great little interview and I told him he can come back as my co-host whenever he wants. The goal for Jack, his real dream - is to become a New York Islander for a day. It's something that I know I won't stop pushing for either. Jack may not be able to play hockey forever, he may eventually even need a heart transplant. But for now, he enjoys playing as much as he loves watching his favorite team. We'll be back with another two episodes where we talk Islanders hockey over the next two days. Tonight Roger Luce the long time arena announcer for the Islanders (and WBAB Morning Show Radio Host) comes on to talk about some hockey and o...
Hello there Isles Faithful! We are back with another episode where we talk puck, coffee (a podcast staple) and a slew of other topics. Episode 14 features Wayne Cafariella of Kings Coast Coffee, a local small batch coffee roaster who tells me his caffeinated goodness is enjoyed by Islanders players and broadcasters alike. Earlier this week I noticed that Brendan Burke posted up a picture of Kings Coast and I joked that I was insanely jealous and pondering my life coffee choices. Really excited for this morning to try some @kings_coast coffee. Big thanks to @chefwayneface for making it happen. pic.twitter.com/4c9BXaYTVm — Brendan Burke (@brendanmburke) November 12, 2018 Freshly Roasted! Wayne reached out to me and asked me if I wanted a sample (still waiting for delivery) but I took him up on the offer. We started talking and I found out that he's a rabid Islanders fan - like the rest of us, he also knows a lot of the people I know in the craft beer industry and plays on a rival brewery beer league team. Such a small world, which is why I invited him on the show. Besides being schooled on how to make the perfect roast, we talked about all of the Islanders moves to date (Lou, Trotz, Signings), how he became a fan, how he got into coffee and everything about his business. It was another one of those conversations where I felt like we could've talked for hours on end. Out what would turn into a wave of irony, we discussed Anthony Beauvillier's struggles, as well as Leddy and Boychuk's. We would also talk about how GREAT Brock Nelson and Anders Lee would be playing, Barzal's development and take Twitter questions on what we feel about potential trades and who we think should be called up from Bridgeport to replace the injured Ladd, Cizikas and Martin. Turns out, we speculated in Michael Dal Cole - we were right. We mentioned how Beau would break out - he did, for a hat trick last night against the Rangers. We plan on recording again, for the simple fact that things just worked out too perfect in what we discussed. With that, please give Wayne a follow on Twitter, he can be found @chefwayneface and the coffee company can be found @kings_coast. I also ask you to check out their website: https://www.kingscoastcoffee.com as well as their Facebook and Instagram accounts as well. The brand is super cool, and I suspect the product is just as delicious. I cannot wait for it to arrive. Wayne was also SUPER GENEROUS to our readers and listeners that if you use the Promo Code ISLES you'll receive 15% off your ENTIRE ORDER! I don't know about you, but with the Holiday's right around the corner, how is that not the perfect gift idea?! Wayne was so knowledgeable about hockey, coffee and local business that I hope he becomes a regular on the show. Let us know what you think in the comments!
