Resources Mentioned In This Episode: Holistic Wealth (Expanded and Updated): 36 Life Lessons To Help You Recover From Disruption, Find Your Life Purpose and Achieve Financial Freedom. By Keisha Blair Holistic Wealth Personal Workbook by Keisha Blair The Certified Holistic WealthTM Consultant Program   Step 1: Define Your Mission/Purpose A holistic wealth approach encourages entrepreneurs to define a higher purpose for their brand beyond profits. When a brand's mission aligns with its customers' values, it establishes a deep emotional connection that fosters loyalty and long-term relationships. Start with your “story of self” and craft a message and narrative that aligns with your mission and purpose. At the heart of every great brand lies a clear and compelling purpose. Begin your journey by asking yourself, "Why does my brand exist? What difference do I want to make in people's lives?" Align your business goals with a higher purpose that transcends money. Your purpose will serve as the guiding star during challenging times, inspiring both your team and customers to rally behind your cause.   Step 2: Focus on Building Relationships While financial success is essential, building meaningful relationships are equally valuable. Cultivate a community around your brand by engaging with your audience on a personal level. Building genuine relationships fosters trust and loyalty, transforming customers into brand advocates.   Step 3: Embrace A Holistic Wealth Mindset & Consistency is Key Consistency is the glue that holds your brand together. From your visual identity to your messaging, ensure that every touchpoint reinforces your brand's essence. This consistency cultivates a sense of familiarity and reliability, making your brand a dependable presence in the lives of your audience.   Step 4: Craft Your Holistic Wealth Portfolio - Innovate and Evolve To create a lasting brand legacy, your Holistic Wealth Portfolio is key. Every entrepreneur and career professional should have a Holistic Wealth portfolio. The Institute on Holistic Wealth can help you craft a Holistic Wealth Portfolio that is unique to your business and career. It is also necessary to be willing to adapt and innovate. The world is constantly changing, and staying relevant requires an openness to new ideas and opportunities. Continuously assess your brand's relevance and make necessary adjustments to align with the evolving needs and desires of your customers. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/keisha-blair/support

I keep refining my avatar and going in circles. My business is a physical product. Toffee which all kinds of people in all walks of life love. What I have now is that my business empowers people to celebrate relationships, communicate feelings, and create memories that feels better than me than I sell toffee . Janet, I love that.I love that you could also simplify and include toffee. If you don't mind me riffing a little bit for a little bit of feedback. Like, I help people create memories, through the taste of my toffee, and then you're like, that's like Willy Wonka level.Like you can play with that stuff. And then you're starting to anchor it in, because if you say that, like I help people create loving memories through the taste of my toffee will literally then when you package your toffee, you can write on the label intention. Or like, you know the instructions before you take your first bite. Set your intention. What is the loving memory you want to remember the moment you taste this, hit your tongue. And then you have this congruent customer journey all the way. Just remember the honest tea or the Snapple teas when you'd pop open the lid. What was under the lid? Affirmations. Manifestations.Snapple was harping on those neural pathways, understanding how human psychology worked. And they were literally like giving people another reason to talk about Snapple because people aren't going to be like, Oh, I love my ice tea. But remember, there's five reasons people share on social or in life, humor, credibility, controversy, education, or social status.Well, Snapple hit humor. They hit credibility, they hit education, and they hit social status. And sometimes controversy with what was printed on those labels. So now you go from somebody like, Oh my T's so great too. Did you know 98% of entrepreneurs over-complicate business because of this one thing? Where'd you learn that? Oh, bro, it was under my Snapple, ethical hijacking right there. So Janet, play with it a little bit. I love it. You could do all of them, right? Celebrate relationships, communicate feelings, create memories through. Delectable taste of my toffee. Or I'd pick the number one flavor and I would focus on that.So like just a rough example, I help people create loving memories through Brown butter toffee. Now you're like, hyper-focused. Now someone one of two options. They like Brown butter or they don't. If they do, you're in, you're like, how could I say no to that? Give me your Brown butter toffee. I want a loving memory right now. Your specific, if they don't, you can give them another flavor. But you can play with this, but play with that stuff. I love where you're come from. It's like we empower people to celebrate relationships, communicate feelings, and create memories. I would go, I would go on the. Communicate feelings and to create memories part, or I would make one for each of them. And then maybe you could go, and this is super meta. This is my crazy marketing brain going right now. You could have a, I help people celebrate relationships through the experience of biting my toffee.I help people communicate feelings by sharing their excitement through the flavor of my toffee. I help people create loving memories through the first taste of my Brown butter toffee. And then if you really got Metta, you could take your toffee and all of your different flavors. Maybe all of your wrapping was the same. And just a flavor name was there, but then maybe you put a prompt depending on the category for each one. So let's say you sold a sample pack of six. Six different flavors. Well, two would have the celebrate relationships. Two would have communicate feelings and two would have create memories and your prompt on your wrapper, who'd be like before you take your first bite, think about a relationship that you want to nurture in your life and send this or give this to that person and take a bite together. Now the creating relationships is like, I literally hand Tyler be like, bro, I love you. Let's eat this toffee together. And then you think about communicating feelings and they unwrap that when you're like, think about a person in your life that you love or that is special and what you would want to tell them, take a bite and then text them. And then create memories. Like, you could play with this. Like you could create, and I hope you don't mind. I'm just riffing on crazy ideas that I think are amazing. But it starting to give people the pieces that they want to deepen these relationships and using your toffee as the vessel, like literally using your toffee as the vessels, the social trigger and the memory. So I love it. I'm glad you're clear there. That's my silliness of my brain going nuts right now.So my share this to  your friends because it's super valuable to hear this conversation about somebody else's business, because it forces you to think about your business in different ways. Deep dive and listen to it through the filter of your own company or idea and write down the new creative ideas that come up for you. Try it out. And I can't wait to hear what you come up with and you better send them to me, post them in our Facebook group Relationship Beat Algorithms or send them to me in a messenger.

Hey everyone, this is Rudy Fernandez from Creative Outhouse. In this episode we talked about creating a brand framework with Ed Farley. He knows a bit about that since he's lead branding for global brands like Anheuser Busch and Humana, United Way and Edelman Financial, four totally different industries. But the approach to create a strong global brand remains the same and eat, whether it's beer or insurance or financial services. He talks about creating a brand framework and how to balance the art and science when you're building your story. Check it out. Welcome to Marketing Upheaval.Rudy: Welcome to Marketing Upheaval. My guest is Ed Farley, the global brand strategist who has been head of branding for huge brands like United Way, Humana and Anheuser Busch and has managed brands that extend across the US and around the world. And we're going to talk about that and what it takes to do that. Well, thanks for joining me, Ed, really excited to have you on the podcast.Ed Farley: Hey, it's great to be here. Thanks.Rudy: So you've seen marketing from a big global point of view. And obviously, you've seen these brands evolve over time. Often we talk about what's changed in marketing. But there are some things that have to stay true in terms of branding. And given your your scope and your understanding of branding. What do you think some things are, some elements that ought not change in order to have a strong brand?Ed: It's an interesting question, because for industries, as you had mentioned, I constantly needed to walk around and in re-educate folks with whom I work on what is brand strategy, right? It's not branding, it's a strategy but doesn't need to change is the idea that you need a strategy to inform great work, great messaging, great consumer experience. And that's really all about a disciplined approach to create a brand strategy. And so what I would encourage everyone to do is think about how that strategy gets created and what kind of rigor and discipline goes into that strategy.Rudy: When you say, you have to maintain that rigor to go into brand strategy, what are the some of the steps to make that happen?Ed: A lot of people are talking about purpose-driven brand strategy. And that's important because reality of that is that in today's global marketplace, we've shifted from business to consumer marketing to consumer to business B to C to B to C to B. And so brands are now engaged in daily conversations with consumers who demand experiences on their own terms, and influence others to buy or not to buy. It has an impact on products and services and sales channel partners. And we've really got to remember that it all begins with a story, a story that has meaning and it resonates with audiences with whom you want to do business. You've got to establish the context of your brand strategy. And that requires some evaluation. The first type of evaluation that I would suggest is to understand your own perspective. Understand your own legacy, your history, get your stakeholder and leadership input into your brand strategy, understand your unified ambition, and your mission and vision and values....To see the rest of the transcript, images and show notes, visit: https://creativeouthouse.com/2019/12/11/ed-farley-global-brand-transformation-strategist/Support the show (http://www.creativeouthouse.com/our-work)
