Zach Flood, President and CEO of Kenorland Minerals (TSX.V:KLD - OTCQX:KLDCF - FSE:3WQ0), joins me to dive into the company's active exploration programs and extensive generative work across Canada and Alaska.   Key exploration updates:   Multiple drill programs ongoing across Quebec and Ontario, including Frotet (Kenorland has a 4% royalty, owned by Sumitomo Metals Mining), Hunter (option agreement with Centerra), South Uchi (optioned with Auranova Resources), and recently completed work at Chebistuan (funded by Newmont). Up to 12 drills active earlier this year, with results expected over the coming weeks to months. Generative strategy and land expansion:   Over 700,000 hectares staked in the past year across Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Kenorland continues to build early-stage gold targets through large-scale till geochem surveys, particularly in underexplored belts. Flow-through funds (~C$4M) to support first-pass exploration, with potential for a small self-funded drill program in Alaska. Strategic partnerships and industry sentiment:   Strong backing from majors including Newmont, Sumitomo, Centerra, and Auranova Resources. Core focus remains on gold, with conventional exploration methods proving effective.   If you have any follow up questions for Zach or want more information on any project or partnership that Company has with majors please email me at Fleck@kereport.com.   Click here to visit the Kenorland website.

Our previous episode: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/us-resource-equities-poised-to-rally-on-permitting-changes-and-project-pipelines-6275Recording date: 24th March 2025Compass, Episode 9Gold and copper prices have reached or are approaching all-time highs, creating favorable conditions across the mining industry. This price environment is beginning to positively impact equity valuations, particularly for producers adding cash to their bottom line at these record commodity prices.A significant indicator of market cycle progression is the accelerating pace of mergers and acquisitions. The M&A trend has evolved from producer-to-producer transactions to producer-to-developer deals, representing a natural maturation in the mining cycle. Recent notable transactions include Calibre-Equinox, Gold Fields' offer for Gold Road, Spartan's acquisition by Ramelius, and Northern Star's purchase of De Grey. What's particularly noteworthy is the increasing scale of these deals, with several multi-billion dollar transactions resetting expectations for developer valuations. The Australian market appears to be leading this trend.Several cash-rich producers remain positioned to make acquisitions, including Lundin Gold, Dundee, Iamgold, Barrick, and Centerra. With gold at all-time highs, producers are experiencing improved cash flows, making acquisitions easier to justify. The current market conditions are especially advantageous for single-asset producers looking to diversify and grow into multi-asset, mid-tier companies. Companies like Lundin Gold and Torex can leverage their strong market capitalizations to acquire additional properties, following a path similar to B2 Gold in previous cycles.Jurisdiction has become increasingly important, with a growing emphasis on secure Western locations. Recent policy developments in North America are enhancing project attractiveness, with Trump signing an executive order to streamline US permitting and Canada's federal government reducing its role in the permitting process. Finland and Sweden also represent favorable jurisdictions with straightforward regulatory frameworks.Three companies highlighted as particularly well-positioned in this environment include Troilus (with 13+ million ounces of gold in Quebec), Arizona Sonora (a copper project in the US with Rio Tinto involvement), and Omai (a gold project showing resource growth potential). As the market matures, investors are advised to position themselves in promising developers and explorers ahead of broader capital flows. While some companies have already seen significant share price appreciation, quality projects in favorable jurisdictions with clear paths to production remain available at attractive valuations. The progression from producer-focused to developer-focused M&A signals a maturing bull market that should benefit quality development projects, creating opportunities for investors who can identify valuable assets before they're recognized by the broader market.Sign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Zach Flood, President and CEO of Kenorland Minerals (TSX.V:KLD - OTCQX:KLDCF - FSE:3WQ0) joins me to discuss two significant drill programs now underway at the South Uchi Project, in Ontario, and the Frotet Project, in Quebec.    The maiden drill program at the South Uchi project in the Red Lake district of Ontario is significant, involving an $8 million funding agreement with Auranova Resources (private company), encompassing up to 15,000 meters of drilling. Zach outlines the systematic approach being taken to explore one large, over 6km, target. This will be the first drilling ever on this project.   We also delve into the Frotet Project in Quebec, owned by Sumitomo Metal Mining, where Kenorland holds a 2% NSR royalty. This program is a 23,000-meter winter drill program aimed to further define the Renault gold system. Zach explains the goals behind this drilling, including infill operations to support a potential maiden resource estimate.    Additionally, we discuss Kenorland's broader asset portfolio, including upcoming maiden drill programs funded by partners such as Centerra and Newmont, and extensive exploration plans in the James Bay region and Northwestern Ontario.   Financially, Kenorland is well-positioned with an approximate budget of $36 million for the year, of which around $30 million will be funded by partner companies, and around $25 million in the bank.   If you have any follow up questions for Zach or want more information on any project or partnership that Company has with majors please email me at Fleck@kereport.com. Erik Wetterling, Founder and Editor of The Hedgeless Horseman website, joins me to discuss three junior gold exploration companies with recent news out to the market; where he is attracted to the current value proposition.   First Nordic Metals Corp.  (TSXV: FNM) (OTCQB: FNMCF) announced on September 9 an exploration update on its 100%-owned Storjuktan project located on the Gold Line belt, northern Sweden. We discuss how this Storjuktan Project along with the Paubäcken project represent the kinds of blue-sky upside along the 100km of strike, while the Barsele gold project, with significant gold resources underpins the current value of the company.   Headwater Gold (CSE: HWG) (OTCQB: HWAUF) announced on Sept 9th that the Company and Centerra Gold Inc. have agreed to a strategic investment under which Centerra will acquire 9.9% of the issued and outstanding common shares of the Company. Erik was surprised that their recent news of staking the two new projects in Nevada, that we discussed last week, or this news of bringing in a larger producer as a strategic investor didn't do much to change the company valuation and just speaks to the sentiment environment we are still in.   Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AMX) (OTCQX: AMXEF) announced September 5th, that it has completed a Mineral Resource Estimate ("MRE") on the company's flagship Perron Project in the northwestern Abitibi region of Quebec. The MRE showed open pit and underground stope constrained 594,100 of measured and indicated ounces at 4.28 g/t Au and 1,049,650 of inferred ounces at 3.80 g/t Au, for a total of 1.6Million ounces of gold in all categories. The stock sold off by over 40% initially, and then over 50% since releasing this resource estimate, and we discussed the potential overreaction by the market that was expecting a larger MRE and the potential value arbitrage.   * In full disclosure, the companies mentioned by Erik in this interview, are positions held in his personal portfolio, and also may be site sponsors of The Hedgeless Horseman website at the time of this recording.   * In full disclosure, Shad is also a shareholder of Amex Exploration at the time of this recording.   Click here to visit Erik's site – The Hedgeless Horseman

Tombill Mines is involved in mineral exploration, primarily gold and has 74 royalty-free claims; of which 60 are owned and patented. Tombill Mines owns various mineral exploration and past-producing gold mines and claims in the Geraldton Camp and Beardmore region, Ontario. Tombill Mines went public in mid December 2020 which raised $6.5M.The Geraldton Gold Camp is about 275km north on the TransCanada highway from Thunder Bay which is a great setting for a mining company with existing infrastructure, a highway town with 4000 people and an airport. The camp is accessible year-round via the TransCanada Highway, which splits the Tombill Main Group property in two.Tombill was founded in 1935 by Tom and Bill Johnson with backing from Newmont. Tombill had two past mines in production which yielded 3Moz gold between the 1930s-60s. The subsequent gold price in the 1960s did not facilitate further mine expansion at that time.In 2008 the neighbour to Tombill who was at the time Premier Gold created the Greenstone property with their prime asset the Hard Rock resource which is directly adjacent to the Tombill site. From 2008-16 the company carried out a lot of drilling and resource work and proved a 6M oz resource at Hard Rock of which 50% was bought by Centerra in 2016 for approximately $200M plus a commitment of $200M for further work. The Hard Rock resource is now an 11.5Moz resource and in December 2020 was sold to Equinox and Orion who are now moving the resource towards a full mining operation.Tombill has been owned by the family for 40 years and now as a consequence of the Hard Rock success, Tombill are moving forward and have assembled a very experienced technical team to progress the resource further. The majority of surface exploration at Tombill Mines was conducted in the 1930s and 1940s and the last diamond drill-hole until recently was conducted in 1950.Tombill Mines has commenced an exploration program in Q1/2021, including diamond drilling, non-drilling geological support, and surface exploration. They have drilled 7000m to date with plans to drill up to 16000m. They have seen some very promising numbers and are expecting drill results back very shortly which will be published as news releases from the company as soon as possible.
