Shawn Howarth, President and CEO of Excellon Resources (TSXV:EXN) (OTC:EXNRF)(FRA:E4X2), joins me to overview their 4 precious metals projects, with an emphasis on the recent closing in May of the acquisition of the past-producing Mallay Silver Mine, with plans to move this mine back into production by Q2 of 2026.  We then review the large exploration potential across their other 3 projects:  Tres Cerros, Kilgore, and Silver City.    We kick things off having Shawn highlight why the company updated their project profile to focus on the jurisdiction of the Cerro de Pasco area of Peru, when acquiring both the Mallay Silver Mine and Tres Cerros exploration projects in the transaction announced in October of 2024, and closed on in May of this year.  Excellon has been a producing silver company in the past, and the management team and board had solid in-county experience in Peru, this transaction seemed like a perfect fit for taking the company to the next level.    Mallay was built and operated by Buenaventura from 2012 to 2018, with US$115 million of historical investment.  The mine went into care and maintenance in 2018 due to low silver prices (~US$16.00 per ounce) and a change in strategic priorities at Buenaventura.  Annual production by Buenaventura (2013 to 2017) averaged 1.3 million ounces of silver, 9,100 tonnes of zinc and 6,500 tonnes of lead.    Excellon announced a few months back that it has secured off-take agreements with Glencore for their concentrates, and is working to put a NI 43-101 economic study in place this year, to outline specific metrics for the move back into production. Shawn outlined that their internal studies project a run-rate of 600 tonnes per day of production, producing approximately 2-2.5 million silver equivalent ounces per year, and with a target All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) of US$17 per AgEq ounce.   Shawn points out that they will also be engaging in an aggressive exploration program to demonstrate the resources can be grown and the mine life extended in a substantial way.    The Tres Cerros Project is a highly prospective gold-silver exploration project approximately five kilometers northwest of the Mallay Mine. The project's prime area of interest is a 2.5 kilometer by 500 meter corridor of gold-silver mineralization and coincident IP/resistivity anomalies, indicative of a bulk tonnage, high sulfidation epithermal system.  Numerous historical grab samples were taken across the 2.5 kilometer fault, which are being analyzed to determine further follow-up exploration work.   Kilgore, is an advanced gold project in Idaho with over 1 million ounces of gold delineated in all categories, and the Company is considering bringing in a JV partner to assist with moving this project forward in exploration and further derisking. Silver City, a high-grade epithermal silver district in Saxony, Germany, with a long history of almost 800 years of silver production.  Shawn has stated publicly that they are looking at various options, but are entertaining the idea of spinning out this asset into a new European-focused exploration vehicle.    Wrapping up we reviewed the industry experience the Excellon management team and board has in both moving projects into production as well as a pedigree of exploration success.  We discussed that the company is cashed up after their financing and off-take agreement, to conduct the key work and studies on tap over the next 6-9 months as the company moves toward a production decision.   If you have questions for Shawn regarding Excellon Resources, then please email those in to me at Shad@kereport.com.   Click here to follow the latest news from Excellon Resources

Locals set fire to the homes of the suspects, and have destroyed much of the migrant housing in the local area.Far East: Two Chinese PLAN aircraft carriers were observed operating in the waters off the coast of Iwo Jima overnight, marking the first time that both of China's aircraft carriers have been observed conducting joint exercises.-HomeFront-California: The Los Angeles Riots continue as before amid increasing National Guard deployment. 2/7 Marines began movement into the area yesterday, while the roughly 2,000 National Guard forces continue mobilization.Overnight, looting and rioting continued throughout the downtown LA area, with pockets of rioting emerging in Little Tokyo, the LA LIVE area, and Pershing Square. Most stores along Broadway were burglarized in the process by coordinated gangs of looters. Train service was halted for Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and Union Station due to unrest in and around the stations. Various ride-share and autonomous driving taxi companies have also begun to shut down services throughout Los Angeles, with Waymo vehicles being observed maneuvering out of the city early yesterday after several of their vehicles were set on fire.This afternoon, the rioting continued in the same locations as before, with the 101 being shut down due to protesters once again. Hoy, ambas son religiosas pertenecientes a la congregación de las Misioneras de la Caridad, fundada en 1950 por la Madre Teresa de Calcuta. Las Misioneras de la Caridad profesan votos de pobreza, castidad y obediencia, además de un cuarto voto especial: “entregar gratuitamente un servicio de amor a los más pobres entre los pobres. “Como Pepa y Luli nos explican, son contemplativas en el corazón del mundo.   Luli actualmente vive en Buenaventura, una ciudad portuaria sobre el Pacífico, en Colombia, donde conviven el narcotráfico, la guerrilla y una gran pobreza. Allí, las Hermanas de la Caridad tienen un hogar de ancianos y trabajan con los niños. Por su parte, Pepa vive con su comunidad en Chimbote, una pequeña ciudad a ocho horas al norte de Lima, Perú, donde las Hermanas de la Caridad atienden a muchas familias inmigrantes necesitadas.   Luli y Pepa nos comparten cómo sintieron el llamado a la vida consagrada y, en especial, a ser Misioneras de la Caridad. También nos cuentan cómo viven la pobreza, no solo material, sino también espiritual, abandonadas a la Providencia. Conversamos sobre cómo ellas encuentran a Jesús en los pobres y en la Eucaristía, cómo los pobres las llevan a Jesús y Jesús las lleva a los pobres. In 2018/19, I began developing my first feature film, “Saints of Buenaventura”, but it was canceled due to the COVID pandemic. So, my next move to push forward this project was to shoot a short film with similar characteristics in terms of tone and artistic style. So, I took the structure of the third act of the first draft of that script and turned it into a story with a beginning and end in less than 20 minutes. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video? It was awesome! The way they got engaged and moved by the story, and their comments about the right pacing and the sound score building suspense and anticipation. WOLA's director for Colombia, Gimena Sánchez-Garzoli, is just back from taking a U.S. congressional delegation to Colombia. In addition to Bogotá, the group visited Cali and the Pacific Coast port of Buenaventura. The latter two cities are in the department of Valle del Cauca, Colombia's third most populous. Much of the population is Afro-descendant, and Buenaventura, on the coast is majority Black. Buenaventura has a vibrant and resilient array of community organizations that has played a greater role in local governance since a 2017 general strike. The government of Gustavo Petro, which took office in 2022, has fostered a negotiation between gangs operating in the city, part of its nationwide “total peace” policy. As at the national level, the results are mixed. The Petro government has sought to move forward many negotiations at once, and some are stalled. Implementation of the 2016 peace accord with the FARC suffers from bureaucratization and lack of organization more than from lack of political will. Rural areas are especially challenged: armed groups are strengthening in some areas, and the humanitarian situation has hit emergency levels all along Colombia's Pacific coast. The election of Donald Trump may presage a U.S. administration urging a return to failed hardline approaches of the past. Still, Gimena sees hope in urban, participatory peacebuilding efforts in places like Buenaventura, Medellín, and in Quibdó, the capital of Chocó. The remarkable resilience and persistence of Colombia's civil society, including Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities in and near Valle del Cauca, continue to be a source of inspiration and innovation.
