In her role, Elaine deals with farm families that are experiencing conflict. She shares the areas that most farm families struggle with. She shares positive conflict behaviours that we want to embrace, destructive ones we want to let go of, and hot-button triggers. This is good stuff! At the AgEx event in November (2024 Event), Elaine will be helping farmers in the audience understand the questions needed to get clarity for better conflict resolution. She shares these questions with our audience. Each person handles conflict differently based on so many different variables. Elaine has a Conflict Dynamic Profile, and she tells our audience more about this tool. Tracy always ends by asking Elaine a similar question…. “How do farmers know when it is time to bring in outside help like a farm coach?" If you are experiencing conflict on your farm or want to proactively learn how to improve your communication style… this episode is for you. ............................... Unfortunately, many farm families end up with fractured relationships at the time of transition. This can all be prevented according to Farm Family Coach, Elaine Froese. Do you have a transition plan in place for your farm? Is the next generation involved in your farming operation, and if so, are they equity holders in the farm? What about the non-farming siblings — should their inheritance be the same as the farming siblings? If you're involved in a family farming operation, it's time to share your vision for the future, then put a plan together to make it reality. This episode will help you get started. Presented by Advanced Drainage Systems
In this week's episode, Tracy speaks to Elaine Froese about “Conflict On The Farm.” Farming is challenging enough to begin with. Then add in family, and perhaps multiple generations of family, and it becomes conflict waiting to happen. In this episode, Tracy and Elaine chat about: How conflict is always perceived as negative and meant to be avoided at all costs. Elaine speaks to the fact that conflict is not bad. In her role, Elaine deals with farm families that are experiencing conflict. She shares the areas that most farm families struggle with. She shares positive conflict behaviours that we want to embrace, destructive ones we want to let go of, and hot-button triggers. This is good stuff! At the AgEx event in November, Elaine will be helping farmers in the audience understand the questions needed to get clarity for better conflict resolution. On tomorrow's ag business episode we are featuring a team of agricultural podcast hosts who deal with real world issues and the challenges of parenting on a farm. These two ladies found each other through a shared passion to help folks with these challenges. One of them lives north of the border in Canada. Their interview reminded me of the fantastic appearance that Elaine Froese had on the show discussing how to keep the family from splintering when farm transition and farm sale towards the end of a parent's career or life occurs. This is a great tie in with tomorrow's show as we feature two guests who deal with the challenge of family on the other end of the spectrum, when children are at their youngest.
This year there may be difficult conversations that we need to face as all farm families need to deal with when it comes to the generational transfer of not only farm ownership but also farming knowledge, skills, and management of our farm businesses to our family's next generation of successors. What are the steps? Is there some kind of checklist? What are the key factors and tools to consider? All of the answers we will know in this very special episode with Canada's Farm Whisperer, Elaine Froese. So sit back, listen, and learn today!

Welcome back! Todays episode is sponsored and brought to you by Kubota. We have a special guest interview today, Mrs Elaine Froese. A farm family, author and keynote speaker. We chat farm succession, what we experience in each decade as aging farmers and how to have uncomfortable conversations with your family on the farm or ranch. This hit Kylie as her family being 4th generation and hit Whitney as 1st generation. Really this conversation needs to be heard from the young farmer on up to the eldest on the farm or ranch! You can find Elaine at farmfamilycoach.com with all her website has to offer and even schedule a 15 minute call with her on farm coaching. She is on IG at @elaine_f_farmcoach and also found on twitter. If you enjoyed this episode or past episodes be sure to leave us a review!
