Hello listeners. In this episode I want to explore the value propositions of the tone controls, starting with the ones in your instrument, moving to a pedal style equalizer, the tone stack in your amplifier and EQ plugins in your DAW. And if you aren't recording, we will consider the tone stack in the PA or sound board. The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 22: Suicide Squad Aired on CBS: August 24, 1989 Directed by: Marc Laub Written by : Jacqueline Zambrano Featuring: Ving Rhames, Adam Coleman Howard, Joe Morton Ladies and gentelmen, we have arrived. The 88th and final episode of the hit 80s show The Equalizer, and the 94th and final episode of our podcast The Equalizers. The episode itself doesn't provide any closure for the original series, but at least it's one last bonkers plotline - Ving Rhames, playing what we assume is a first draft version of Marsellus Wallace, is a drug lord who employs specifcally injured athletes, and EQ has to protect a teenager Willy whose football is ending short because of a bad knee. But whereas the episode doesn't give any kind of grand sendoff to the series, Chris, Chuck, and Vince (yes Vince!) do their best to make up for it. We got together and MST3K'd this guy, having our own party and sending off our podcast in style. It's a different format and different sound because we wanted to go all out to celebrate The Equalizer. This episode was a blast as was this entire ride. Thank you to everyone who came along with us. @equalizerspod equalizerspodcast at gmail dot com https://www.facebook.com/equalizerspodcast/
In this episode of the Drive Pink Dialogue podcast, Scotty and Saur discuss Inter Miami's 3-3 Draw with St. Louis City at home, Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Roman Bürki, what went right, how Tata Martino managed the game, and as always, they give out some awards.

On this week's episode we talk about the hectic mess that was Week 2. Chace and I recap this week in the TinCan Tavern. The Equalizers* had a big week in the Black Sheep Division, but Polish-Hammer is still in first. The Pulltube Tuggers snatched a close win from Ballz Deep in the Bush League. The Last Mohican continues to dominate in the Backroom Division. And the newcomer to the Champion's Division sits in first, while the defending champ sits in last. After the recap, we discuss things Chace has found interesting so far this season, then we give you our matchups of the week. The entire episode is continually sprinkled with a dose of Al, some would argue too heavily seasoned, you decide.
In this short podcast, Bryan talks about distributors and external equalizers and why we need to use them together. When older Carrier heat pumps (with pistons) would run in heat mode, the metering device would be outside. In those cases, the port on the liquid line would be on the opposite side of the metering device. So, you wouldn't actually be measuring the liquid line pressure (high-side) if you measured it at that port while the system runs in heat mode. However, that pressure would be higher than the common suction pressure. That's because distributors and distributor tubes also have a pressure drop associated with them AFTER the metering device. Nowadays, TXV systems have external equalizers, which create an equalizing force inside the valve. The bulb pressure forces the valve open, and the equalizer pushes against that pressure to create a closing force. An internal equalizer would work fine on a system without a distributor or distributor tubes; however, those systems are few and far between. We need an external equalizer on systems with distributors because the pressure at the end of the evaporator coil is significantly lower than the pressure picked up by the valve. Without closing force, the TXV would theoretically force itself all the way open and flood the evaporator coil. External equalizers can get clogged, which results in a pressure buildup during the off cycle and forces the valve closed. They can sometimes get clogged when used on a Schrader port without a Schrader depressor inside the equalizer. Some people attempt to fabricate distributors in the field. It works in some cases, but in many cases, it's best to use an engineered distributor for the best performance and efficiency. The distributors are individually designed to create an individual pressure drop. If you have an iPhone, subscribe to the podcast HERE, and if you have an Android phone, subscribe HERE. The Equalizer Season 2 Episode 2: Nocture Aired on CBS: October 15, 1986 Directed by: Richard Compton Written by : Carleton Eastlake Featuring: Ashford and Simpson (yes the musical duo who gave us Solid as a Rock), Jessica Harper (Suspiria), Michael Parks (Kill Bill) True, it's getting harder to watch old Equalizers lately: it's somehow disappeared from Roku apps and nbc.com is sometimes flaky ( https://www.nbc.com/the-equalizer ), BUT this is one jam-packed entertaining episode that needs to be seen. And yes sure true, the larger plot of this episode is a pretty rough (a woman hears the voice of her attacker who made her blind), BUT see what flowers are at your feet: a powerhouse cast; poetry analysis (which our own Chris Daniels guides us through); a blockbuster-grade plot to find the attacker through voice recognition; and, the purple jumpsuited elephant in the room, an extended musical performance by Ashford and Simpson! Absolutely not to be missed. @equalizerspod equalizerspodcast at gmail dot com

He served as an Air Force officer on active duty and in the reserves for more than 10 years. He also does his share of cool traveling to places like London, Toronto, the Arctic Circle, and the Caribbean. He also hails from the Motor City, Detroit. My guest today is James Roby. Hi James. James (01:23): Hello. How are you today? Debbi (01:25): I'm fine. How are you? James (01:27): I am outstanding. I'm happy to be here. Debbi (01:30): Excellent. Excellent. Good. So how did you get involved in fiction writing? What got you started with that? James (01:37): Well I mean, honestly, it's been almost like a lifelong thing. I remember my father liking, you know, oh, Humphrey Bogart-type movies and you know, the crime thrillers and noir and that kind of thing. And I, and I kinda picked that up from him. And then as I got older, I started looking at things like James Bond. And then later I started seeing like Shaft and all those things kind of molded together in my mind to this character I eventually created. But you know, I remember distinctly, and I'm dating myself, going to see Superman with Christopher Reeve and just being so moved by the, you know, I was a little kid, but it was like, this is a story that I wish I was in. So I started writing a character that was Superman, but it was my background. James (02:30): And then from there I started writing some other things. I did a book for a friend of mine, who's big into Star Trek. So I did like the history of the Enterprise and he really liked that. And then finally I wrote a---I'm sorry, I have to admit it. A fan fiction for a TV show I was watching. And then from there, I just, I was watching this show, another show from my past, Mike Hammer with Stacy Keach, and I really liked that show, and all those things just kind of clicked together and I've been doing it ever since. Debbi (03:02): Oh my gosh. I had no idea that you wrote fan fiction. That's so cool. James (03:06): I did one. I did one. Debbi (03:08): One. Okay. I think that's awesome. I think that's really awesome. So the UrbanKnights series has a protagonist. Who's a former operative of the Defense Intelligence Agency. That's a really interesting sort of background for private eye to come from. James (03:28): He started off. He pretty much mirrored my background until I figured he's me except cooler. And Jordan Noble started off as a missile launch officer at Minot like I did, but he had an event in his life that changed his trajectory. And I started off with the OSI, which is the Office of Special Investigation for the Air Force. It's kind of like the Air Force is FEI, but I wanted to make it a little bit more jazzy, a little cooler, you know, not so commonplace. So I'm looking at our first place, obviously the CIA, but man everybody's either ex-CIA or CIA. And at the time when I thought of using the DIA, it wasn't quite as well known in fiction. I mean, there are some characters. Denzel Washington's portrayal of the Equalizers from the DIA, but this was before that.

In this episode, I describe how the D.W. Fearn VT-4 and VT-5 Equalizers came about. I start with some history of equalization, and then my experiences with various eqs and how that influenced the design of the VT-5.I talk about the design process, including the reasoning behind the choices I made in the frequencies and the curves, and the design of the amplifiers in the VT-5. Then I explain how I use the VT-5 on the sessions I do, which is not meant to be a tutorial on equalizing, since everyone has a different style, but as an illustration of one approach to using the equalizer. In 2020, we made some internal changes to the VT-5, which does not change the sound of it at all, but did allow us to eliminate the small, low-speed cooling fan.A plug-in version of the VT-5 is available from Acustica Audio, and I explain the design process behind it.The VT-5 has become an indispensable tool for many engineers, mixers, and mastering facilities. I originally designed it to fill I need I had, and it has been very gratifying to see the acceptance it has gained in the music recording world.
In the latest CloudCents episode, Jack tackles the role of MSPs in the cloud service industry. Many companies are using a multi-cloud approach to grow and MSPs add a significant layer of value to that. No doubt, they will play a major part in this global paradigm shift that we're experiencing together.
When it comes to the powering of computer audio equipment, is a SMPS alright or is it better to upgrade to a linear power supply?

Dom Morley is a Grammy-award winning British engineer, producer, and mixer who has worked with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Adele, Sting, Nick Cave, and many others. He has worked as a staff engineer in several top studios in London and now has his own studio in Oxfordshire. Educating aspiring engineers and producers is important to Dom, and he is in demand as a teacher and lecturer. He often conducts workshops at the NAMM Show.An educational service he offers is the Mix Consultancy, where anyone can submit their mix for Dom’s personal evaluation and suggestions. https://www.themixconsultancy.com/I recently spoke with Dom about his early influences, breaking into the business, working with artists and producers, and helping those coming up with solid advice on developing their craft. For this conversation, Dom was using a vintage RCA 77 microphone into a Wunder Audio PA-Four mic preamp and D.W. Fearn VT-7 Compressor.I am using my usual AEA R44 mic into a D.W. Fearn VT-2 mic preamp. Both mics were sent through individual D.W. Fearn VT-4 Equalizers, and the mix goes through a VT-7 Compressor. The conversation was via Skype, so there is an occasional delay of my voice audible in Dom’s mic when we overlap. The recording is 24 bit, 96kHz PCM digital before the podcast conversion to MP3.

From political compromises, a possible return of New Order style elections, Widodo family dynasties and Prabowo’s real role in the cabinet, we break them all down in this episode with Dr. Djayadi Hanan
President Widodo set lofty goals when he took office in 2014 and many have yet to be achieved. Hoping to achieve them in his second term, Widodo's newly-formed cabinet has raised serious questions as to whether those goals are attainable. The government coalition is super-sized and the make-up of cabinet is full of political accommodations and compromises. How might Widodo grab opportunities from this situation? Could Prabowo be a reliable equalizer to help Widodo gain political influence over his own party? On the flip side, was the make-up of the cabinet part of an effort to gain support to amend the Constitution and return to New Order style elections? And are Widodo's family members set to become the next dynasty? Join us with the ever-brilliant Djayadi Hanan from Lembaga Survey Indonesia.

Dear Hannah, Our world is still dominated by forces that equate “equality” to “providing opportunities”. These forces often provide opportunities that they control. To the contrary, equality is predicated on both opportunity and circumstance. Equality is achieved when societies provide opportunities and circumstances that create diverse, inclusive, and sensitive environments. Those favored most by the status quo are not likely to help change it. The opportunities and circumstances that create diverse, inclusive, and sensitive environments must be procured and created by the people who desire them most. This requires the development of leaders with "equalizer" mindsets – those capable of being neutralizing authorities who balance power where deficits exist. Power is work done efficiently (with wise and skillful use of resources, interests, communication, and expertise). “Equalizers” who generate power and multiply themselves can create change. I am an “equalizer”. Love, Daddy
