In today's episode, I chat with three of my students about how they built successful businesses in industries with underrepresented communities. These conversations are sooooooo important because many people believe that niching down can be a dangerous thing -- but these three successes are here to show you that this just isn’t the case. In fact, niching down can be the opposite! And while it may be scary at first to venture into these unknown territories, you’ll often find that when you start to attract the right people, they’ll be saying, “This is what I’ve been waiting for!” So today, you’re going to hear from Sandra McLemore, Gwen Lane, and LeeAnn Sims. They all have a unique community and will share how they identified that something was missing. They’ll also share the self-limiting beliefs they faced and how they attracted and built their audience. And of course, they’ll share about their successes, too. Today on the podcast I'm talking to Gwen Lane, Gwen is a digital marketing superstar, founder of The LA Girl, and founder of Spark Society, a community for online influencers, where she also  teaches influencers how to grow and monetize their influence.  I met Gwen almost 2 years ago now and it's been incredible to watch her grow, and grow so fast. So for those of you listening who want to grow your business quickly, this is a must listen. Not all of you guys out there are ready to go “all in” to your business right now, and that's ok, go at your own pace - but then you have to be real about your expectations and how far you can grow and how fast. If you're ready for quick growth though, I highly suggest taking a page from Gwen's playbook in this episode.  I really love this conversation because we go deep and dig into so many things from how Gwen's invested over $50K in her business over the last 2 years (but side note she has made such an insane return on that investment, making every penny worth it), to how we're all actually influencers in one way shape or form.  We also explore Gwen's personal mindset and her morning routine that she uses to set herself up for success. It's really similar to mine actually and we both agree our simple mindfulness practices have had the biggest impact on our businesses.  We also explore how Gwen got started as an entrepreneur and how she used all of her 10 years of experience in corporate america as her training for business.  Gwen also shares the sacrifices she made in order to grow her business quickly. There's no getting around it, growing a business requires work, perseverance, and as we state multiple times on this podcast, consistency!  While you certainly don't have to invest as much or grow as fast as Gwen did, there is a certain amount of grit and resilience required of entrepreneurs, especially online entrepreneurs these days that get constantly trolled. We also talk about that and how you gotta just let the haters hate without thinking too far into it.Hope you guys enjoy this episode, as much as I did!   Aha Moments: It took Gwen 2 years to feel like her online offering was aligned with her How much Gwen invested in her first 2 years of her online business How investing in your business is like buying a roadmap from an explorer who already completed that journey How Gwen utilized the power of communities to build her audience online Gwen shares how she was able to grow her business and leave her corporate job within 2 and a half years - and why she believes sacrifices are necessary Why most entrepreneurs end up quitting and giving up and what you can do to be one of the few that makes it Gwen shares her most powerful mindset tips and routines that even YOU can start implementing Why it's important to step into your professionalism as a coach and entrepreneur This Instagram Queen shares her top two IG growth tips   Links & Mentioned In This Episode: Check out the Spark Society Sparksociety.org Check out The LA Girl TheLAgirl.com Spark Society Instagram @sparksociety The LA Girl Instagram @TheLAgirl
