In this solo episode, I get real about the hard but necessary changes I've made over the past six months as a business owner, husband, and dad. From cutting my workweek down to three days, turning down “good” opportunities, to focusing only on profit-building activities and deep relationships—this episode is a reflection on what truly matters. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by your own calendar, unsure if your content is landing, or burned out from saying yes to too much, this one's for you. We'll cover:Why “family first” has to show up in your schedule, not just your wordsHow to rethink your content strategy for clarity and real connectionThe deep lake vs wide lake mindsetDelegating with trust (and consequences)The shift from reach to relationship in marketingAnd the freedom of not needing to be everywhere
It can be easy to lose sight of the need for deep emotional connections in a world where everyone seems obsessed with AI, automation, and bottom-funnel conversions. But being able to connect authentically with your customers is the lifeline of every business. In this episode, we sat down with Michael Fitzsimmons, VP of Growth at Mews, who shared how forward-thinking brands reject generic tactics and double down on storytelling, bold positioning, and strategic risk-taking – all with a mind to never rest on one's laurels, but rather to keep setting the bar higher and higher when it comes to quality, connection, and well, growth. He shares how AI fits into the creative process without killing originality, why content needs more taste, and how modern brands must prioritize community-building to stay relevant. We also discuss:Why most B2B brands fail at differentiation—and how to fix it.The importance of owning a category instead of competing in one.Why taste and human creativity are still some of marketing's biggest competitive advantages.Where AI shouldn't be used in content marketingAnd much more.

Start Here.TRANSCRIPTIONHey, it's George Fourie. Welcome to the Martial Arts Media™ Business Podcast. Today, I am going to feature an episode, an interview that I had on the Kyl Reber Podcast. Kyl, a good friend of mine, interviewed me. You can look him up on kylreber.com.au. Also, martialartsmedia.com/145.I had the pleasure of having Kyl on our podcast. By the way, I was looking at it. In episode 145, we were talking about him having 370 students. I know that number's almost up to 500 now. They are booming, to put it mildly. Anyway, go have a listen to that if you haven't yet.For this episode, I really wanted to feature it because I got to tell you. I've been trying to record a podcast where I tell a bit of my story and just background where I came from, how this all got together, and I've given the pieces and inside of this over the years. I just had a look. We had episode 150, and I actually started this podcast in 2016, July of 2016.I'm probably in the race for the longest-going podcast with the least amount of episodes, but 150 awesome episodes it has been, and I'm going to continue to do this for a while. Anyway, I've really wanted to have an in-depth– about my story, and I tried to record it a couple of times solo by myself, and I've got to say, it felt weird.I did it about three times, and I deleted it every time. Then, I got on Kyl's podcast, and Kyl gave me 10 questions just to prepare for the podcast. I did that, and I thought it was going to be enough, but Kyl's questioning technique was really solid and in-depth. Every time I answered, he dug a little deeper and dug a little deeper.I've got to be honest. I probably spoke about things that I maybe just haven't shared over the years. Nothing too serious, but just things that I've buried in my past and let go. But Kyl did a really good job of unpacking all the details about me and asking a lot of questions. So, this podcast is going to be a bit longer.I highly recommend you check out Kyl Reber's podcast. I will have all the links for that at martialartsmedia.com/150. That's it for me. I hope you enjoy...

Here's the thing. Actually, two things (or a brutal truth about money, if you will). 1. Most people are broke. 2. We love to give each other advice all the time. So the worst thing you can do is take financial advice from a broke person. Sounds like reinventing the wheel? Then imagine you come to well-meaning friends and family members with a great idea to either invest in something, or start a business, or go on an inspiring vacation…How many of them would say something like: - That's a lot of money- Boy, the market share is unstable right now- But you don't even know how to do marketingAnd then give you advice that sounds like:- Well, let's just wait and see.- Better to be safe than to be sorry.- Let's wait for things to calm down just a little bit.See? And you wonder why they're broke? I'm not saying here that they're bad people. They just don't know what they're talking about as far as money is concerned. They can only respond with fear because they haven't figured out how their money works. All of you being here for some time, know that you only can absorb info and have thoughts that are on the same level as the emotion you're feeling. That's why you should avoid those voices of fear and scarcity. So today, we're diving into the strategies to use to feel financial relaxation no matter what your personal or the global economy looks like. You don't want to miss this one! Key Takeaways:- Intro (00:00)- A brutal truth about money (01:17)- Three years ago, I was broke. Now I drive a Tesla Model Y (04:02)- Stop watching the news (06:10)- I used to make money the bad guy all the time (07:43)- Small things that helped us to feel prosperous (08:44)- You have 100% control over how we experience the things that are happening (11:18)Additional resources:Get the free Prosperity Guide and share your story in the Prosperity Experience Facebook group! We hang out in the Success Without Struggle Facebook group.
