Whether you realize it or not, your spouse cannot make you orgasm. Your spouse can make you a priority, learn about what works for you, and encourage you, but they cannot make it happen. And... putting responsiblity where it does not belong is not fair and will add all kinds of unhelpful pressure. So, I want to share what I have learned about taking responsibility for myself.

Welcome Ryan Dougherty to the show! Helping people and teams grow is Ryan's passion. He believes if you love what you do and who you do it with you can achieve amazing results. Ryan is a co-owner and principal partner at TG Three (www.tgthree.com), a strategy company that equips leaders and Christian institutions to get from where they are to where they want to be. Prior to his consulting and coaching work, he served for 20 years in enrollment and marketing at George Fox University outside Portland, Oregon, leading to unprecedented growth. By developing people, creating a pipeline of accountable leaders, and implementing innovative strategy, the university experienced explosive enrollment gains beginning in 2013 resulting in an additional $65 million in revenue. Before departing to launch TG Three, he served as Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing. Ryan earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration. He has two great kids–a 16-year-old son and a 13-old-daughter–with his amazing wife, Meredith. In this episode, we talk about key moments in saying yes to helping people and what that looks like as a leader. Ryan and I talk about how helping people happens when we see the needs around us and step in to offer our skills and giftings. We answer the question of how leaders keep saying the right "yes"? Ryan offers his wisdom by saying, "Do great work in the position you're in and step up when there's opportunity." Ryan shares about a time when he and his wife faced a trauma in their lives and how each of their lives shifted greatly and what that meant for their leadership lives. Some questions we unpack during our conversation are as follows: What is our motivation as we follow the call to being a leader? How do we lean in to growth and challenge? What is the definition of "Responsiblity?" Is being "Over responsible" in a role ever a good thing? Does a Leader always need to be "Out front?" What are we leading for and to what end? Some advice Ryan offers is as follows: Set time for work is set time for work. Priorities are a weighting of our responsibilities. Might we be stealing from another person's leadership and development when we show up for everything? At the crux of leadership is the concept of love. If we don't love the people we are leading, we will lead with the wrong motivation. If you have a calling for leadership, determine and discern your motivation. Just get out of yourself and contribute to others' lives--that's Christian leadership. If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go with others. Family is a bedrock for teaching others about leadership. Leadership isn't about my style; it's about the people who I am leading. We conclude our discussion with the important topic of support. Trust, compassion, and hope are support. When leaders face transition, they often lose their peer support. Ryan points to Gallup's research that say that you have to have a friend at work for your best work to happen. He also suggests that a boss who cares about their employees shows support. They show it by developing their employees, creating space for trust, and genuine relationship. If leadership is about development and relationship, it doesn't matter how different a person's style or age may be. What matters is that leaders develop others where others are and where they are going. Enjoy the Show! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pamela-havey-lau/message

Topic: MY ACTION MY RESPONSIBILITY Guest: Wale Andrew Woblai It is a joy to be on this edition of "Golden Rubbish" this year. Again, I am Wale Andrew Woblai shortly I will just take you through some moment of my pains that I found gain and they can be seen known as trash but there were treasures I was able to extract from it. You can call them rubbish. But they were some golden things I found from them last year. I took the decision to resign from my job. I was working for a mobile company, and the job was paying averagely, and life wasn't too bad. But then, deep within me, at some point, I lost satisfaction. I knew I needed something more, and the working environment was not too comfortable any longer. But then to resign without having another job at hand. It's very crazy. It was something that I didn't consult people around me before taking that action because I know they will not agree or consent to such decision because it looks crazy indeed. Majorly because of the state of the nation. You know they said there is no job you that have this one, you should manage it, they say half bread is better than none blah blah blah and all of those stuffs. So, I just felt after sending my resignation that's when I was informed people and that was exactly what I did send my resignation and because of the contribution that I have made for that company they were shocked that such a staff will be resigning. The HR called me and some other bosses called me, trying to talk me back into the job, but I was keen to hear them change the offer, making things much more better. But they never mentioned things like that, especially the pay. You know, one of the reasons why we walk is for the money, and the work environment should be comfortable, but all of these things were not adding up any longer for me. Some other people will be grateful to have what I had, but then I knew I needed something more, and because I am not another person, I knew it was time for me to leave, so I just took that bold and crazy step. Send my resignation later in April told the company by May I will be stopping the job with them. And exactly that was what happened. I remember when people around me in fact including siblings when I told them this is what I've done they were not really happy that I would do such a thing and the entire thing now boils down to so what are you hoping to do? And so many questions that I don't have all of the answers but I knew it's time for me to leave which was why I left lessons I've learned from that experience... And even considering that I am not married, I don't have a family. The people I God is using me to be of blessing too. I just know God will still make a win. So I just had to go. So if you have more responsibility, don't dare what I did, but if you know you can survive when it's time to leave, I advise you to leave, but if you choose to stay, you should calculate is the pay worth stress will continue staying be healthy because I will not advise anybody to stay when it will not reach to a point where to affect your mental health. And then I knew so well that when I left, there would be many from the company and even outside that would be looking at me to make sarcastic comments like, "Look at him now that he's left; look at his life as it's getting better; things have become worse. We know he was taking the wrong step and all that kind of stuff like that. But then it is important for you to know that if you want to take such kind of steps, it requires work, quitting for more work is not quitting to rest. It is quitting to work because eyes will be on you and I'm grateful for all of the experience because today, I can boldly say all that has happened, happened for my good thank you. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/weinspirepodcast/message

By Jorge de Campos in Fort Worth, TX - July 16, 2022 - We know that the world is bad and that God will intervene and bring us peace. But we also have a responsibility.
There is a lasting kind of peace that the world can't offer. A peace that is not based on external circumstances. Jesus says: Do not let your hearts be troubled… Before he promised that we would have trouble in this world, he first said: I have told you these things that you may have peace…take heart! Jesus not only desires for us to have, but is offering, peace of heart, which is far greater than peace of mind.

Taking Responsiblity & Trying to Make Things Right. by Madison Street UMC
In this episode, we look at the difference between responsibility and purpose. We sometimes interchange those terms, but in the perspective of this teaching, we see how in this life being responsible in the little things leads us to attain the eternal purpose for which we have been apprehended by Christ Jesus our Lord and Creator.Purpose is an object to be reached, a goal, an aim, the ideal, or an end result… Destiny. In contrast, responsibility is the duty, or obligation that one has and is held accountable for. It is our duty, obligation, and responsibility to hear Him and obey. FAITH is what is in the middle of our responsibility and our purpose and destiny in Him. Faith is the means to the end. RESPONSIBLITY is being in CONTROL standing and seeking a NEW WAY out of a SITUATION. Today we look at who is responsible for where you are? The easiest thing to do is to blame others and not TAKE responsibility. In LIFE you have to always work from what you know to what you do not know.
