Psalm 139: The Cure for Small Thinking about God by Chaplain Braswell
#226: Peter Segger shares his journey from music and metal testing to pioneering organic farming in Wales. He reflects on the legacy of the Soil Association, his encounters with E.F. Schumacher, and the decades-long effort to protect the soul of organic food against industrial takeover.https://realorganicproject.org/peter-segger-farming-small-thinking-big-226Peter Segger is a well-known early adopter of organic practices in the UK, having run a 45 acre mixed fruit and vegetable farm in Wales since 1974. A long time member of the Soil Association and dedicated student of the soil, Peter now sits on the board of the Sustainable Food Trust. He is also the founder of Organic Farm Foods, which is now the largest specialist supplier of organic fresh produce in the UK.The Real Organic Podcast is hosted by Dave Chapman and Linley Dixon, engineered by Brandon StCyr, and edited and produced by Jenny Prince. The Real Organic Project is a farmer-led movement working towards certifying 1,000 farms across the United States this year. Our add-on food label distinguishes soil-grown fruits and vegetables from hydroponically-raised produce, and pasture-raised meat, milk, and eggs from products harvested from animals in horrific confinement (CAFOs - confined animal feeding operations). To find a Real Organic farm near you, please visit:https://www.realorganicproject.org/directoryWe believe that the organic standards, with their focus on soil health, biodiversity, and animal welfare were written as they should be, but that the current lack of enforcement of those standards is jeopardizing the ability for small farms who adhere to the law to stay in business. The lack of enforcement is also jeopardizing the overall health of the customers who support the organic movement; customers who are not getting what they pay for at market but still paying a premium price. And the lack of enforcement is jeopardizing the very cycles (water, air, nutrients) that Earth relies upon to provide us all with a place to live, by pushing extractive, chemical agriculture to the forefront. If you like what you hear and are feeling inspired, we would love for you to join our movement by becoming one of our 1,000 Real Friends:https://www.realorganicproject.org/real-organic-friends/To read our weekly newsletter (which might just be the most forwarded newsletter on the internet!) and get firsthand news about what's happening with organic food, farming and policy, please subscribe here:https://www.realorganicproject.org/email/

Finding your inner voice can be a transformative journey in a world filled with noise and distractions. This journey becomes particularly crucial when we seek to overcome the limitations of small thinking. Small thinking is the self-imposed confinement of our thoughts and aspirations within the boundaries of what seems familiar and comfortable. It's the voice that whispers, "You can't," "It's too hard," or "It's not for you." However, discovering and nurturing your inner voice can be the key to unlocking a world of boundless possibilities, enabling you to transcend the constraints of small thinking. "You won't believe how many opportunities you have to screw up. You're constantly given new screw ups you can make because the world changes." - Nolan Bushnell I don't know if you have ever noticed this before, but humans are so hard on themselves. As people who want to win, we often fixate on our mistakes, lament wrong decisions we've made, or mentally replay all the could-have's and should-have's. Nolan Bushnell and I both want to tell you to let that sh!t go. If you are not familiar with Nolan Bushnell, he is an insanely successful and influential businessman who founded Atari and invented Pong. Oh, and then he went on to found Chuck E. Cheese and more than 20 other companies. When I sat down to talk with Nolan about innovation, vision, and his path to success, I asked him about times he missed the mark or passed on ideas that he later regretted. He told me that he passed on the classic, iconic arcade game, Space Invaders, which has grossed over $13 billion in revenue to date. YIKES. Thing is, Nolan didn't sit around and cry about it. He kept it moving, and you should follow his example. People don't remember your screw ups. You can fail a million times and win once, and guess what people will remember? YOUR WINS. When you Google Nolan Bushnell, you find things like "Father of Electronic Gaming" and "Video Game Hall of Fame honoree," not "guy who passed on Space Invaders." Can you imagine if he let that mistake change his opinion on himself, his abilities, or his vision? My point is, L's are lessons, not losses, and are certainly not the end of your career. In fact, these lessons are often beneficial in the long run - they are opportunities to sharpen your vision, adjust your game plan, and move according to the changes happening in the world around you. So, don't be so hard on yourself when you experience a misstep - it could very well be a step toward your next win. Thinking small is killing you. It's thinking you can't when you totally can. Why think about thinking $100,000 when you can work just as hard to make $1,000,000 a year? Why work to make $1,000,000 when you have the same capacity to make $100,000,000? It's really that simple. No matter what level you're on, you have to treat every single thing you do as if you own it. I had a sales job for a car dealership that made me watch Grant Cardone training videos. I watched them while everyone resented them. Now, I have my own training videos. Because I did the work. I did the work for them but did it for me. You have to up your thinking. You have to break through the ceiling that's holding you in the smallest room in your mental house. Small thinking will hold you back in your family, your personal life, your finances, and in your business. How can you think big to deliver everything you want? Go to your bank account, print it out, and add a zero and another comma to it. Write down your perfect day and what it is. The kind of house you want to live in. Where you want to live. The kind of cars you want to drive. And so on and so forth. If you're going to be thinking, you might as well be thinking big anyway. Small thinking will keep you small. #RiseAbove HOW TO GET INVOLVED: This planet is based on an algorithm and with every positive action, there is an adverse reaction. Ryan Stewman rose and overcame a life of addiction, imprisonment, divorce, and circumstances that would break the spirit of the average human being. Drawing a parallel between fasting from all the voices in 2020 and the main point of this book, fasting from wrong thinking and speaking. You're in for a real treat. Michelle Gines makes it clear that the things you say to yourself or other people can really impact your life, and there's. So, be intentional about it. Don't Say That is a handy little walk thru those crazy conversations in the mind and the alternative. It's set up as take it one day at a time, just meaning, do your best to fast from these phrases one day at a time. Everyday a Phrase or Thought to Fast From with a little biblical wisdom and insight. Let's Switch it Up every day. I will offer you five ways to think of that phrase differently - say it differently. It's all about perspective, and sometimes we just need to look at it another way. Over time, looking at things another way provides an opportunity for an even greater outcome. Every phrase can be removed from your thought life and vocabulary to never be heard from you again. And the great thing about that is you won't miss it at all. I promise you. Say it out loud. Yes, really, out loud. Why? You need to hear yourself saying something different, which makes it easier to say it differently if ever you're encountered with that thought. It's good practice. Really, it's more than a fast. It's an easy way to remove all the junk you might think or say and do the mind and body good! It's time for a fast. Don't Say That will be a game changer - a life changer for you! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gv-hot-97/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gv-hot-97/support
Two kinds of small thinking kill ministry but there are ways to multiply and grow the potential for your faith community...or non-profit or business.
Today we are fasting from small thinking. THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE EVERYTHING! Small thinking produces small living. If we set up small expectations for our lives, that's what we'll get. The problem with that mindset is that God is bigger than we ever imagined. He has bigger plans for us more than we've ever dreamed. Time to ditch small thinking! YOUR GOD IS TOO SMALL! EVERYTHING CHANGES WHEN WE LET GO OF A SMALL GOD. HOW BIG IS YOUR GOD? Scientists estimate there are over 100 billion galaxies and 100 billion stars in each of them! And God created them and calls them all by name. He's BIG. HOW BIG IS HE? He's big enough to take away the sin of the world; to allow us to make mistakes without punishment; to put great dreams in human hearts; and big enough to not have to threaten us to accept Him. He's a BIG, BIG GOD! THINK BIG! Renew your mind to God's language. For example: “Ask for the nations”(Psalm 2); “Speak to the mountain” (Mark 11); “Your descendants shall be as numerous as the stars” (Genesis 15); “You shall possess the land”(Numbers 13), and so on. God uses big language and gives us bigdreams! ASK BIG! GET YOUR JABEZ ON! He prayed: "Lord, bless me indeed. Enlarge my territory...” Ask Him that today. "...and God granted his request.” Ephesians 3:20 says, “God is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think.”Start asking and thinking the way God says to. NEVER STOP DREAMING AND ENVISIONING A BETTER LIFE In Acts 2:17 God says, “In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.” You see? He says, “Old men will dream dreams” because even as we get older, we are not supposed to stop dreaming! God wants you to keep dreaming no matter what! TAKE YOUR SEAT! What do I mean? God has seated us with Jesus Christ in heavenly places. (Ephesians 2:6) We have been given a divine authority and divine point of view. That's how we need to look at life—from our position, seated above all limitations! IMPRINT THIS ON YOUR HEART AND MIND: ROYALTY DESTROYS INFERIORITY! Acquaint yourself with your new bloodline. You are royalty in Christ. This makes you reign over life. (Romans 5:17) When you know that you are made righteous and made royal by His blood, it makes you as confident and bold as a lion! Believe it! THINK IT AND SAY IT I give up small thinking. I let go of a small god. I agree with God's way of looking at things and God's language. I decide to think bigger and bigger every day, and to ask for the things God said I could ask for. I accept the visions and dreams that the Holy Spirit wants to give me; and I let go of all failure, disappointment, and fear-based thoughts, in Jesus' Name! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/felicia721/message

In this throwback episode of the Millionaire Insurance Producer podcast, host Charles Specht explains the two main reasons why writing small accounts is a terrible strategy for an insurance agent and why THINKING BIGGER and writing larger accounts makes everyone happier. "Small Thinking" is a plague that may allow you to pay your monthly electric bill but it will never allow you to build wealth. Episode Highlights: Why is thinking small, a major problem? (2:55) How does Charles' approach to work differ from that of 20 years ago? (5:30) Charles explains how to compensate for inexperience, as a young agent. (6:56) Is there a difference in process when prospecting large accounts versus smaller ones? (8:14) What happens when you're successful at writing small accounts? #1 of our new 8-part series of "Clicks". What are these clicks for insurance professionals? They could be breakthroughs, busting through a plateau, or it's a mindset shift. We're talking about when you begin to do things at a different level to get the results that maybe you didn't even think were possible prior to that "click." Through the summer, Roger and Brent are going to share some of the clicks to help you and your agency get out of the familiar plateaus. This first Click is truly a mindset shift. It's moving from small thinking to true higher-level thinking and what that can do for your career. Listen in as Roger shares the story of how one client's click helped him create over $6 million of commission income on his personal book of business, plus more clues to success on this episode of The Agent Leader podcast. This week my guest is Michael Bhaskar, who has authored several books exploring the impact of technology, specifically around the publishing and curation of content. In his latest work, the Human Frontier: The Future of Big Ideas in the Age of Small Thinking, Michael instead turns his attention towards the creation of content, and in particular how humanity seems to be running out of big ideas. In this conversation we delve into the many facets of this theory, exploring numerous bits of evidence and examples that support this notion. We also explore how the technological singularity may be our last chance for big ideas, how cultural and philosophical tendencies are worsening the situation, what possible paths lay before us to address this lack of moonshot innovation, and much more. And God created them & calls them all by name. He's BIG. HOW BIG IS HE? He's big enough to take away the sin of the world; to allow us to make mistakes without punishment; to put great dreams in human hearts; & big enough to not have to threaten us to accept Him. He's a BIG, BIG GOD! THINK BIG! Renew your mind to God's language. For example: "Ask for the nations" (Psalm 2); "Speak to the mountain" (Mark 11); "Your descendants shall be as numerous as the stars" (Genesis 15); "You shall possess the land" (Numbers 13), and so on. God uses big language and gives us big dreams! ASK BIG! GET YOUR JABEZ ON! He prayed: "Lord, bless me indeed. Enlarge my territory..." Ask Him that today. "...and God granted his request." Ephesians 3:20 says, "God is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think." Start asking and thinking the way God says to. NEVER STOP DREAMING AND ENVISIONING A BETTER LIFE In Acts 2:17 God says, "In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams." You see? He says, "Old men will dream dreams" because even as we get older, we are not supposed to stop dreaming! God wants you to keep dreaming no matter what! TAKE YOUR SEAT! What do I mean? God has seated us with Jesus Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). We have been given a divine authority and divine point of view. That's how we need to look at life— from our position, seated above all limitations! IMPRINT THIS ON YOUR HEART AND MIND: ROYALTY DESTROYS INFERIORITY! Acquaint yourself with your new bloodline. You are royalty in Christ. This makes you reign over life (Romans 5:17). When you know that you are made righteous and made royal by His blood, it makes you as confident and bold as a lion! Believe it! THINK IT AND SAY IT!!! I give up small thinking. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/felicia721/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/felicia721/support
Baby Boomers saw technology jump from the telephone to the moon landing. Are the current incremental advances in smartphones anywhere close to that wonder? Michael Bhaskar is a writer, researcher and co-founder of Canelo Digital Publishing, and he joins host Krys Boyd to talk about how he believes risk aversion has led us to move away from dynamic discoveries, and why he says it's time to dream big again. His book is called “Human Frontiers: The Future of Big Ideas in an Age of Small Thinking.”
A small community can be a powerful catalyst for your business or ministry. But is your small thinking keeping your community small? In this episode, we'll look at three myths about community that result from small thinking, and bust them by looking at community in the early church. The #toughgrace truth is that you can't depend on Google, or social media, or Pinterest to get your great idea in front of people who are going to snap it up. It doesn't happen that way. You need a following that is going to actually see your offer. And here's a little secret ... if you've built an engaged community, instead of just a following, you can have successful offers without a huge audience. An example of this is my friend Eva Kubasiak, who said on a recent bonus episode that she made her first $1000 when she had less than 1000 followers. Listen to the bonus episode with Eva here. But just because your community starts small doesn't mean it is best for it to stay small. Throughout this series, we've been looking back at the early church in Acts chapter 2, where it says: “All the believers were together and had everything in common. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” This verse gives us a basis to address some of the biggest myths about building a community. Let's see if you have heard or believed any of these myths.1. Community only happens in private groups2. Community only happens in small groups3. Community only happens with high-maintenance effortThese three myths have a common theme ...they are based on small, closed thinking centered on a personality, rather than open, expansive thinking centered on common goals, passions, ideals and messages.ACTION STEPDive into your community and spend time with them. Whether it's in the comments of your public social media posts, your private group, or in your direct messages ... build those strong ties that will connect people with your message. There are two other special opportunities to learn about growing a community that buys or buys in. Check out the Christian Woman Business podcast with Esther Littlefield, starting at episode 57. And as part of this series on building community, I'm releasing a bonus episodes with some of my friends about how they built communities around their message on different platforms. The next one is with Wren Robbins, who shares how she has built a community through podcasting. You'll be encouraged by our conversation, so be sure to follow the podcast where ever you listen so you don't miss it.RESOURCES Esther Littlefield and I have a new resource coming to help you build a community that buys. (The Find Your People section has some good thoughts about community.)++++++++++Are you tired from trying to share your God-inspired message while working your full time job?
