Institutionalized constructs operating under the guise of health care, finance & governance are presently facing a well-deserved & scathing scrutiny as more awaken to the realization of the systemic deceit that has brought us to the brink of utter ruination.  Every cloud has its silver lining, and our present predicament is no exception. The growing distrust of education, medicine, media etc. has urged many to look elsewhere with the awareness that health, prosperity & happiness are an inside job!  On this very special Alfacast Sophie Fletcher PhD & Yerasimos Stillianessis return to share further insights into the practice of Human Design as a tool for personal transformation. Yerasimos is the co-host of the “Here For The Truth” podcast, the co-creator of the transformational 10-week group coaching program “Rise Above The Herd,” and the co-creator of “Friends of the Truth,” a private membership community home to some of the most grounded, rational, and intuitive truth seekers online. As a staunch advocate for radical self-responsibility, conscious action, and self-knowledge, he is dedicated to uplifting the human spirit and guiding others to step into their true purpose and highest potential. Dr. Sophie Fletcher believes that the body carries profound wisdom, communicating through symbols and symptoms that reveal the unconscious aspects of ourselves. Her approach is centered on deeply listening to these subtle cues, using them as doorways to uncover and integrate the hidden elements of the psyche that may be limiting one's growth and well-being. With a master's degree in Spiritual Psychology and a second master's and Ph.D. in Depth Psychology with an Emphasis in Somatic Studies, Sophie is devoted to following the innate intelligence of the body. Her comprehensive training spans Somatic Experiencing, the Neuroaffective Relational Method, Human Design, various bodywork and energetic clearing modalities, Gamma breathwork, advanced autonomic nervous system techniques, Germanic New Medicine, and Relational Life Therapy. She found success in the entertainment industry as partner and head of the talent department at United Talent Agency, later becoming the top talent agent and partner at William Morris Endeavor - representing the best of Hollywood's elite. Dr. Hallermen launched Recovery Management Agency (RMA) in 2011, and it is the first-ever recovery management program of its kind. RMA is a consulting company providing clients with a team of managers to help them navigate their journey toward healing and recovery. Having been sober for years, Dr. Hallerman realized her lifestyle was making her sick - though she had freed her addiction to substances, she had not freed her soul. After years of trauma and substance abuse, she had only covered up the wounds, rather than truly healing them from within. So, in her 40s, Elisa went back to school, taking classes in drug and alcohol counseling at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2010. She now holds a master's and doctorate from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Depth Psychology and Somatic Studies, focusing on neuroscience and trauma. Dr. Elisa Hallerman's first novel SOULBRIETY: Heal Your Trauma, Overcome Addiction, and Reconnect with Your Soul, is a prescriptive memoir on overcoming drug and alcohol addiction, PTSD and chronic trauma. SOULBRIETY explores how to recognize adverse childhood experiences and trauma, which if unhealed - are often at the core of most adult addiction and alcoholism - and touches on timely topics such as the traumatic events facing us every day: from a pandemic, mass shootings, political injustices, war, and terrorism.   Thanks so much for listening and write us anytime info@doingitsober.com xox Daniella Park & Chris Nell Check out my recovery store for the biggest variety of medallions, accessories, clothing, hats and much more @ doingitsober.com

Modern studies of mystic states focus on the 'ineffability' of the ecstatic experience — the impossibility of explaining what the experience was like. Yet mystic experience might be indescribable in modern culture simply because we've failed to culturally describe it. For those cultures historically who tread the mystic space with great regularity, there's nothing indescribable about it. Mystic unity has been mapped. The people who have tread its spaces for thousands of years describe in scintillating detail landscapes, architectures, points, vortexes, luminosities, mandala-like configurations, all alive with animate entities. And these geographies are not simply described as personal visions, but as tangible externally existing landscapes that others can visit too. So where do such mystic scapes live? Are they a function of brain chemistry? An externally existing reality? An overlap of individual consciousness and the external world? All of the above? This episode unpacks the articulated geographies of mystic states and looks at the mystic experience beyond 'just brain chemistry' but rather as a state of alignment to greater patterns and forces that already exist within nature, forces that shaped our biology to begin with. Within this ongoing relationality, art, ritual, story, and song, work together to create a fully formed mythic structure through which human beings contextualize the world, and in an age of decontextualization and fragmentation, this mythic structure is as vitally important to the human bodymind as it has ever been. Support the show (http://www.patreon.com/theemeraldpodcast)

Touched: A Massage Story uncovers the wisdom found in the hands of a world-renowned massage therapist, Jonathan Grassi. This documentary offers insight into the hardships of entering this profession. Inspired by his personal journey of healing from loss and isolation, Grassi masters his gift of touch through the encouragement of mentors and newfound love. After my own therapist started asking me to question where and how anxiety was showing up in my body physically, it occurred to me that I had never thought about the embodiment of emotion in the body that way before and because fascinated with the topic.   When I started doing more research into somatic therapy, I came across the brilliant Ailey Jolie on Instagram and we had an absolutely game changing conversation, diving deep into a topic that many of us don't pay enough attention to.   Ailey is passionate about embodiment, about supporting others living fully and wholly in their body. This is mirrored in her work as a trauma therapist (MCP), yoga teacher, meditation guide, and internationally published author. In her clinical therapy practice Jolie works with individuals who have experienced trauma and no longer feel safe in their body. She assists clients in their process of coming home to their body through somatic and mindfulness based psychotherapies. The same approaches that helped her reconnect with her body after sexual violence and exploitation. Presently she is working towards obtaining a second Master of Arts Degree in Depth Psychology with an Emphasis in Somatic Studies. Ailey has the most beautiful way of breaking down complicated neuroscience in a way that is easy to understand, and we talked a lot about how the body stores emotions and processes traumas, along with how your body communicates to you and to other people.  A sneak peek of other parts of our conversation include: Examining different types of trauma and some surprising events that can be traumatic emotionally and manifest physically Some of the ways we can slow down and tap into the sensory experience of the body The ways our bodies communicate to others and the science behind how we often mirror the behaviour of others How somatic therapy is tied to eating disorders Why your sore joints and posture might be telling you more about yourself than the fact that you work a desk job Taking care with the language we use in our everyday life related to trauma and mental health If you've ever wanted to better understand your body, emotions and how to work through various types of trauma, this episode is for you.  Be sure to pass on the love and share this with some who might need to hear it!   FIND AILEY Website: www.aileyjolie.com Instagram: @therapywithailey&  @aileyjolie   REFERENCES The Body Keeps Score, by Bessel van der Kolk Waking the Tiger, Peter A.
