Live from the Heartland—I'm Steve Gruber—and its time to climb aboard— The Truth Train—as it rolls down the tracks… rolling over the indefensible lies of socialism, communism and the idea that America is a bad place—America is the greatest nation in history— and I will fight to defend her each and every day— welcome aboard!    Here are three big things you need to know right now—   ONE— The Justice Department is continuing its war on pro-life activists—this time by indicting 8 protestors in Michigan—for being too close to the abortion clinic door—    TWO— Meanwhile—one Grand Jury is taking aim at Ivanka and Jared—while another one may have been destroyed by a glory hungry woman—who could give President Trump a Yuge win!   THREE— Priorities—it's time to discuss the priorities of the people we send off to Washington—and the ones we do not—they are the people behind the curtain that are often running the place when the elected officials are pretending to be in charge—   So, what are the priorities of the people inside the Beltway? Because from where I'm standing it certainly isn't most people in the country and certainly not the ones that live in the country or other small and out of the way places—   What other conclusions could you draw based on the total failure to deal with the massive train wreck and subsequent fire involving tens of thousands of gallons of highly toxic Poly Vinyl Chloride in East Palestine Ohio?   The wreck came on February 3rd and the entire Biden Administration has been in a train wreck ever since—nobody worse than Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg that at this point has basically disqualified himself from ever serving in government again—and I join the call for him to resign—as he has proven time and again, that he is not up to the job and in fact is totally incompetent in the role—   Case in point—he has, just like Joe Biden failed to go to the Ohio Pennsylvania line to even look at what happened or meet with the people in that small rural community that say their dogs and cats are dying—flocks of chickens are dying and the water smells like chemicals and has a rainbow sheen in the small creeks and waterways—in and around town—   Joe Biden flew off to Ukraine and Poland—dumping $200 Billion into the hands of the most corrupt government on earth in Kyiv before promising the leaders in Warsaw—that the United States will pay for and build a brand new Westinghouse nuclear power plant in that country—I will get back to that in a minute—   But lets talk about the thing Joe Biden likes to talk about sometimes—his whole of government approach—well let me be crystal clear—this looks more and more like a whole of government failure in Ohio   Yeah—as mom used to say action speaks louder than words—its been 20 days since the whole Norfolk Southern train came off the tracks—and so did any federal response to the spreading PR and environmental disaster—   By the way—where are all the Earth First tree huggers and bunny lovers that so hate fossil fuels? You would think that when the government torches about the most toxic form of plastic and produces a cloud so big it reaches tens of thousands of feet into the atmosphere—they might show up and say something—BUT NO,  the Global Climate Warming Change Cult crowd is too busy sipping latte's from Starbucks whilst complaining about capitalism on their Apple Mac Book Pros to be concerned about a bunch of hayseed Trump voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania—   I mean they voted for Trump so any mishap that hits them—they probably deserve, right?   Oh, speaking of President Trump, he did go to East Palestine and was greeted like a King—when in fact he appeared to be nothing more than a man of the people—    So what about Mayor Pete—the guy who earlier this week proclaimed that as the guy in charge of South Bend Indiana—he dealt with plenty of disasters over 8 years—I would guess he was probably talking about his poor leadership—but it was not clear—   What is clear is this—East Palestine is not a priority to Mayor Pierre either—in fact when asked by a Daily Caller reporter this week—he said he'd answered enough questions—and needed personal time—   So with Feeble Joe over kissing the ring of the President of Ukraine—and Mayor Pierre out on date night—and tired of answering questions—the whole Administration appears to be giving the proverbial middle finger to all of Red America—at least symbolically that is how it looks—    New polling says Americans are more excited about Feeble Joe running for re-election than President Trump doing it again—BUT you have to wonder if that's really true—because Trump is at home with ordinary people while Joe is usually at home in the basement—   By the way Mayor Pierre is finally going to Ohio—he will be there today—almost 3 full weeks after the whole thing began—not exactly Johnny on the spot—But at least he got some personal time—I'm guessing the townsfolk in EP will have plenty of personal things to say when he arrives—   And then the rest

Curt Anderson is a CPA by trade, but a serial entrepreneur by spirit. He co-founded his accounting firm, Fair Anderson Langerman, in 1988 and he co-founded my company MDL Group in 1989. On this episode he mentioned that he has been involved with 23 partnerships over his 40 + year career. Originally from South Bend Indiana, Curt of course graduated from Notre Dame with his BA in Business Administration with an accounting emphasis. From there he accepted an opportunity to move to Southern California as a young partner of a national accounting firm. Curt calls himself “lucky” to have this experience at such a young age. And as the conversation continued, perhaps the luckiest thing that ever happened to Curt was meeting his wife Sue on a blind date while they were in college. Make Your Life Decision Based on What You Want, Not How Much Money You Want Curt is someone who likes to help people figure out what they want to do and how to get there. He is classically trained as a CPA, but in reality, he was never built to be just an accountant. His approach with clients has been unorthodox in that sense. Rather than focusing on finances he starts with getting clients to describe the kind of life they want to live and what they want to accomplish. Then he helps them achieve those things through their finances. Key Takeaway: Embrace Change Curt has been blessed with opportunities. He explains it as simply being in the right place at the right time. However, he was ready for the opportunities and smart enough to take the risks. When his CPA firm was expanding to California, he accepted a promotion to partner and relocation to Los Angeles. His wife was eight months pregnant and his daughter was born shortly after the move. After 13 years as a partner and board member of a national accounting firm, Curt sensed a change was necessary again. This time Sue was pregnant with their second child. Still, Curt followed an opportunity to partner with clients to start a development company in Las Vegas. Listen to the episode to hear the rest of the story! Suffice to say that after 50 years, Curt has learned to ask “why not” when it comes to change. Out of all his successes, the number one thing Curt says he got right was marrying the right woman for him. With every major step he's taken in his lengthy and successful career, she's been by his side to embrace change with him through thick and thin. Takeaways from this Episode - Partnerships are doomed to failure, so plan accordingly. - Ideas don't work if the people aren't the right people. - Listings are not opportunities, they are responsibilities. - The rule of three 8's - an accountant's explanation of how to get balance in life.

South Bend is on the St. Joseph River and got its name because the city sits on the river's southernmost bend. The first residents were the Miami and Potawatomi tribes –and the river access eventually drew in an influx of fur traders. Established in 1865, South Bend saw a business boom in industry thanks to the St. Joseph River. Studebaker, Oliver Chilled Plow, and Singer Sewing machines were just a few of the big names. But we can't forget the University of Notre Dame. It's a huge influence on the economy and culture in South Bend to this day.

Unknown 0:01Good afternoon, everybody. This Thursday afternoon. This is a quick recap : (several minutes later), the O'Hare Airport, the official recording session, we see it 5.6 inches. (Several minutes later 8:00?). Now I would like to read some of these snow totals that this comes from the National Weather Service. And this is from six o'clock pm Central Standard Time on Tuesday, February 1 through 8am today, so let me just read you the top. The top totals from various states Arkansas, Bella Vista, three miles northwest of Bella Vista. That's what the recording session is. They got nine inches of snow. That's an Arkansas, Colorado 14 Garland 13.3 miles east of Fort garland got 22.4 inches of snow. It looks like that is the top amount. I'm just going to tell you six miles northeast of Denver that's considered Denver. They got 13.6 inches of snow into Illinois. The top of Mount was Macomb, the Macomb County where the recording station is one mile south east of Macomb. 14.5 inches. Also Lewis town in Illinois. 14.4 inches. Peoria, Illinois.Unknown 9:43The recording session is three miles northwest of Peoria 12.1 inches Bloomington, Illinois. The weather station. There's 2.7 miles northeast of Bloomington. They got 12 inches Cantin 12 inches to another state. in Peoria, another Peoria one hour north of Peoria. 12 inches Quincy, one mile west of Quincy. 11.5 inches. I know he said one city per state but we have to put Illinois. I mean this is Illinois. I mean, Vermont, Illinois 11.3 Midway Airport. 11.0 inches. 11 inches. Normal Illinois also 11 inches in the Chicago Romeoville National Weather Service office 10 inches. Now we go into Indiana, Cedar Lake Indiana, 12.5 inches, the same for Miss Miss Shaohua aka Michelle Walker. I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing it right. They also got 12.5 inches. Akron, 12.0 Bowling prairie 4.0 Logan Port 11, Michigan City 11 Morocco 11. Well in 11, South Bend Indiana, the recording station is two miles east of South Bend. They got 10.3 as early this morning, and really there's not much more expected for today. In fact, the National Weather Service is saying just to trace you go into Iowa the highest amount Iowa was motor mo dar one mile south southwest of that city, five inches. Kansas the highest amount was climax. Climax Kansas Kansas nine inches. You go into Topeka, Kansas 4.6 Michigan, St. Joseph Michigan 13.8 inches and go into Missouri New London, Missouri. 12.2 inches Annabelle 11.5 inches. Columbia Missouri reporting stations six miles south east of Columbia 9.7. Springfield, Missouri seven inches St. Louis 6.5 Kansas City 3.8 New Mexico got bombarded with snow cannon Plaza 21 inches, Tahoe ski Valley 20 inches and Santa Fe 3.5 inches. The weather station there's 2.7 miles East northeast in Ohio so far, Ohio is much further east so we're probably still waiting for further snow totals over there but so far as of this morning, Montpelier, Ohio 6.5 inches and similar amounts for the other cities in Ohio mentioned Oklahoma highest amount 6.2 inches and Tulsa Oklahoma, Pennsylvania so far, you know there's not much there yet. The probably will be a lot more Erie, Pennsylvania. 2.7 inches. Texas. Turpin, Texas eight eight inches beaver six inches Groover six inches fritch 5.5 Amarillo Texas that's my favorite city so three miles north of Amarillo Texas 5.1 inches going into Wyoming Cheyenne Wyoming seven inches and I here we have selected preliminary oh so all of those all of those amounts that have so one second year selected preliminary storm total snowfall in inches. Selected pruners. Alright, continuing again. This is I don't know. Okay. I don't know the difference. Oh, total sleet This is the sleet accumulations Arkansas, Otter Creek two inches. Illinois. Carbondale 1.8 inches Kentucky in Henderson attempt of an inch Missouri Shrewsbury one inch Oklahoma. Sup Soper point eight inches. Texas Sweetwater 1.5 This is the sleet Okay, now we go to freezing rain. This is the real dangerous stuff.Unknown 13:48Mulberry Arkansas half an inch along with Pine Bluff. And then you have other areas got a quarter of an inch a quarter of an inch device or more is considered Winter Storm Warning criteria and Illinois have three tenths of an inch for outmanned Illinois, Indiana Floyds knobs and Newberg all received a quarter of an inch of ice Kentucky and Benton and Cadiz quarter of an inch or more Benton got point three eight Mississippi all the way down there Nesbitt four miles northwest of there. Three tenths of an inch Missouri pressed in a quarter of an inch St Charles point one five inches. Ohio strat there is a quarter of an inch Oklahoma tahina, half an inch hand no BIA point three eight Finley a quarter of an inch and same with Hugo, Texas, Texas. This is Texas got hit the hardest. It looks like Mason, Texas three quarters of an inch of freezing rain yula a quarter of an inch junction a quarter of an inch and then the other places are less than a quarter of an inch which falls a 10th of an inch. I'm just gonna read this paragraph here additional freezing sleet and snow accumulations are expected across the southern plains lower middle Mississippi Valley and into the Ohio and Tennessee Valley to tonight, with a few additional inches of snow and a swath of impact from potentially damaging freezing rain accumulations of a quarter of an inch to half an inch or locally higher forecast just to the south of the snow axis as the front continues to slowly track eastward snow and ice potential increase across the northern Mid Atlantic and northeast today and tonight before ending later tomorrow. snow totals for the interior northeast are likely to exceed a foot while freezing rain accumulations of over a 10th of an inch and locally exceeding a quarter of an inch should stretch from much of Pennsylvania and southern parts of New York and New England. The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at nine o'clock pm tonight. And that's what it is written over here. So we have I wonder if there is any city again that was in the bullseye for both systems. It doesn't seem like there is or there was we'll find out more tomorrow. But despite the fact that there wasn't no such city, we still managed to get some areas that got more than a foot of snow. Even just from wave number one, as pointed out earlier, was in Illinois, Macomb 14.5 Lewiston, 14.4 Bluff springs 12.6, Peoria point okay 2.1. We mentioned all these things. I want to point out one other thing this was brought up actually a couple of days ago, that for some areas this is especially true in Indiana. The beginning part of the storm actually took place some temperatures were above freezing and grounds were also wet. Therefore some of the snow I think it was actually the St. Louis National Weather Service that pointed this out. Some of the snow actually melted by the time this warm liberals were taking some of that snow already melted. So even though you had recorded officially in the book, let's say for a place like South Bend, you have 10.3 inches. Okay. Someone Someone told me it looks more like eight inches. So it could be that there was a couple inches that have melted through the process. I don't think in Chicago we had any of that. I think all of it whatever was recorded stayed. By the time the morning came already temperatures were well below 32. And the snow is falling quite heavily. But when you go over into Indiana, those places where they were in the transition zone between rain and snow and I think the amount of snow that is actually seen and what people are actually experiencing are a couple inches less than what the official totals are. Everybody, I wish you a great day. Thank you for listening, stay safe and enjoy the snow for those places that are getting it and in regards to the ice. Ice is a serious Sakana and people just be careful. You know people down south are more familiar with these ice storms than up here. In Chicago. A lot of times the Mid Atlantic area gets these ice storms. I see that I've been talking for 18 minutes AndThis transcript was generated by https://otter.ai

Unknown 0:01everyone it is Monday evening, January 31. I wish everybody a good thing. Clay desh was Scottish other. We are in the midst of just a day before that storm we spoke about last Thursday several days ago, we mentioned that there's going to be a Arctic airmass colliding with copious amounts of Gulf moisture. The gates to the Gulf of Mexico have opened up and all of its moisture is streaming right along the front. In fact, we have A Flash Flood Watch in effect for the Texas area. The storm we spoke about Thursday we mentioned it's going to be getting together organizing itself in the mid part of the country, bringing one to two feet of snow in the bull's eye, nothing has changed. That's the forecast I wanted two feet in the bull's eye, there is more clarity in regards to where this storm is going to be going. It's going to be south of Chicago, South Bend, Indiana will be the bullseye. That's what I think 12 to 24 inches, I think more than 12 inches for South Bend. 1516 inches, maybe even more. More than that maybe 1516. Springfield, Illinois wanted two feet as well. It's hard to say one to two feet, there also could be some freezing rain and sleet over in that area, the beginning of the precipitation might start off as rain even in South Bend, that's not really going to dampen the snow too much, though, a Thursday is going to be really the main powdery heavy snow, that's when the soda water ratio will be 13 to one. As the colder air comes in, the flakes become fluffier, and they pile up quicker. Also, despite the fact we don't have any intense low pressure over here, very strange. We have the arctic air we have the Gulf moisture, usually in the Midwest, in order to produce a major winter storm which is defined to six inches or more, you need a deep low pressure system. You know, I searched and searched I checked the GFS model, I checked the European computer model, and I see an intense low pressure in southern Canada. But that has nothing to do with this. The only thing that has to do with this is that's going to be responsible for bringing in the cold air. It's the front associated with that low pressure in Canada, that's going to bring in the cold air, that's going to cause the precipitation to change to snow rather quickly. But the main precipitation, the main moisture, which is in the hole, all the moisture involved in the systems coming out of the Gulf of Mexico. And it kind of you know, its revolves around this 29.7 low in Texas, if even that that low pressure system then opens up into the Tennessee Valley. Eventually we do find this a 29.7 low pressure system, which moves across the Tennessee or Ohio Valley on Thursday, making its way to the East Coast affecting cities like Buffalo, New York, Syracuse, New York, Providence, Rhode Island as well. Those cities also could get heavy snowfall from this as well wanted to feed again in the bullseye going south of Chicago, Springfield, Illinois, South Bend, Indiana, there also could be some lake effect on the backside, the lake effect snow could also be affecting Chicago. That's really a big wild card over here how much snow is going to be falling Thursday from the lake effect snow, and also the the initial stage, which happens through over running, I think that will affect the Chicago area, bringing several inches of snow and that initial stage the overriding it's really this main system itself. That's the question for the Chicago area. We have arctic air very dry air just to our north, it's going to cause a lot of the snow to evaporate before it touches the ground for the Chicago area, especially areas north of Chicago. And that's why the Chicago area might not get much snow from the system itself. But before that arctic air comes that close to Chicago, we will see some snowfall Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning America, Cheyenne, it's possible the snow might even fall heavily for it time. And then you know, then when As that arctic high gets closer and closer, some of that precipitation might start to evaporate before it touches the ground. And then we get the lake effect snow on Thursday, we still could get heavy snowfall accumulation from this when all is said and done. realize this is a 48 hour event. So it would certainly not be surprising to see snowfall accumulations higher than six inches, even here in the Chicago area and four areas by the lake on Thursday. That's always a wild card. But the system itself the main system, which is on Wednesday evening, you know, Wednesday, Wednesday evening, that's going to be going south of us through Springfield, Illinois, South Bend Indiana up to Buffalo, New York, Providence Rhode Island areas just to the north of Interstate 70 in the St. Louis area. We haveUnknown 4:47that the interesting part there just isn't that deep low pressure I hope if I'm wrong, you know I I can't find it. I searched and searched because I thought all of these things have to have a deep low pressure right but This one is just the the front is the main force behind this. And the first the stage one, it's kind of going to hit in two stages. Stage one, we're going to have a snow to water ratio of 10 to one and then stage two as the air gets much colder 13 to one is what could be expected. The winds are really going to pick up this whether there's intense low pressure or not, as that really strong Arctic high tries to move in the gradient between the two pressure systems, whatever low pressure there is, we'll be producing stronger winds on Thursday with lots of blowing snow. I think there'll be blowing snow, the National Weather Service's questioning it. Okay. In any case, enjoy. Everyone Have lots of fun, you know, what shortage is all about any scotches. Snow also is all about any scotches. It's really Mama's perfect timing. Also realize LoL is the muzzle of in a half circle. So really anything could happen. Things could always turn around. And, you know, maybe we'll have a change in the swamp track but that's what my current thinking is. Everyone enjoy the weather. Especially by the way, this is the first widespread snow event for the South Bend area, which is not connected to Lake Effect, I believe. I think I think the first significant snow so you know, the snow lovers must be really thrilled over there. really thrilledThis transcript was generated by https://otter.ai

My guest today, Rudy Ruettiger, exemplifies what it means to have the deep resilience and persistence needed to make a dream come true. For those who are not familiar with Rudy Ruettiger, his life story was made into a major motion Hollywood sports film in 1993 and to this day, nearly 30 years later, still stands as one of the most inspiring sports movies out there. In fact, in the words of the late, great Kobe Bryant: “If Rudy could accomplish what he did without being blessed with the physical talent to play football at that level, what could I accomplish if I worked as hard as he did? After watching that movie, I decided that I would always work as if I'm the last man on the team that had everything to prove.”Kobe describes Rudy as being the one person who's had the biggest influence on his life and he literally broke down in tears the day he met Rudy in person letting him know what a difference he made in his life and career. As well, 4 US presidents were so moved by the movie that they wrote hand written letters to Rudy himself. The 4 presidents were both Bushes, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama. Rudy Ruettiger was an undersized walk on who earned a spot for two years on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team in the 1974 and 1975 seasons. Although he did not dress for games, he was given the opportunity to put on the uniform and dress in the last home game of his senior year in 1975 and got in the game in the the closing minute to record his first ever tackle in the final moments of the game. The final scene of this movie is a moving tribute to who Rudy was and why he was so loved. His story, however, is about so much more than football which is why Hollywood and Notre Dame deeply supported the making of this movie.  Full disclosure here, as a college football player myself back in Canada in the 1990s, I was an undersized player who had to work very myself to have a chance to be starting quarterback and punter for my university team. The movie Rudy was a great inspiration to me at the time and taught me that I needed to push myself even harder to be the best I could be with the talent I possessed. In our episode today, Rudy and I talk about what it was like for him growing up in the family of 14 brothers and sisters, the loss of his best friend which ultimately sparked his desire to quit his job and move to South Bend Indiana to make the Notre Dame dream happen, and we also talk about his spirituality and the desire he has to make a difference in the world by sharing his story. We also chat about Hollywood actor Sean Astin who played his character in the movie and how he and Sean collaborated in order for Sean to do the very best he could in the role of Rudy in the movie. I was super excited to record this podcast with Rudy, but due to technical difficulties and a poor internet connection, there were a number of glitches that prevented us from recording the entire interview. After editing, I managed to capture only 17 minutes of our 40 minute conversation but there are still some gems in there. Dan and Al start this rip roaring episode off by discussing the pros and cons of having a hot tub (2:00) and why gas prices are so frequently changing (6:50). The two are then joined by podcast veteran Jay Schuffenhauer (salute!) (13:30) who contrasts his outlook on the Vikings season to the outlook Dan has. The trio then draft the top four winners (18:25) and top four losers (41:00) of the election week that was. After a couple of drafts and laughs with Jay, Dan and Al are joined by fellow podcast veteran Hannah Schwartz (bow down!) (1:07:56). Jake & Ruby unfortunately bring up politics in this episode, but promise it will be the last time they ever talk about the subject even though they are like really really bad at keeping promises. Thankfully, they also discuss other things including but not limited to Ryan Murphy's “Ratched,” Ruby's rash, Jake's moles, Mac Demarco, the smell of my neighbors weed and South Bend Indiana's Publicist. Also a little treat from the hottest new New York City band, Hennessey.
