Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 97th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. This set covers discs 1676 to 1700 in my Classic Collection. In my Fuzzy Feature, I talk about the 1946 Holmes and Watson mystery "Dressed to Kill," starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. I chat about the Kyle Smith book they used as a basis for at least the title and the names of a few characters in the 2006 CBS Tom Cavanaugh vehicle "Love Monkey." I found it while attending a book chat author and fellow podcaster Kemper Donovan gave for his debut murder mystery "The Busy Body" in Grand Rapids, Michigan, last April, which gave me an excellent opportunity to highlight the upcoming release of the second installment in his ghostwriter series, "Loose Lips," available for pre-order at www.kensingtonbooks.com/9781496744548/loose-lips/ or any independent bookseller you prefer. In Cross Connections I highlight appearances by several actors in shows I cataloged in this set, including Ray Wise, John Larroquette, Michael Ian Black, Michael Imperioli, Kurt Fuller, Cory Montieth, Benito Martinez, Tyne Daly, Judd Nelson, Liam James and Alyssa Milano. I determined Diedrich Bader likely qualified as a Golden Thread in my collection. In my Classic Collection, I chat about "Who's the Boss?" references in "Community," I do a compare and contrast on "Human Target" and "Archer," with comments on "Desperate Housewives" and "Supernatural." In my Current Collection, I archived family memorial services into my home collection. I also archived "Agatha All Along," "Only Murders in the Building," and the Kamala Harris rally in Milwaukee.  Archiving is on hold while we get ourselves set up in our new home in Utah. Even so, I watched the "Doctor Who" Christmas special on Disney Plus. Comments on that, as well as "Wicked" and "Sonic the Hedgehog 3." TOP TWELVE: Here's a "Top Twelve" episode guide for people looking for a quick read-in on this blog and podcast effort: https://videofuzzy.libsyn.com/about. Enjoy!

Hello Super Fam of Steel! The fallout from Clark's announcement that he is Superman is being felt. The paparazzi are flocking to Smallville and not making life easy for the Kent family. The boys cannot have an evening out with Nat & Candice because of it. The pressure has gotten to Candice, and she wants to break it off with Jon. But thanks to Jordan and Nat, he talks to her and convinces her he is there for her. But their bonfire gets interrupted when the Starlight suit, under Milton's control, crashes the party. It takes both Superboys working together to defeat it. Lois gets good news. Her scans are clear, and she is cancer free. But the celebration is short lived. Lex has gone on the Godfrey! Show. Gordan Godfrey, played by Tom Cavanaugh, is helping him spin the accusations against Lois and Clark. Lex calls her out to a debate. Due to her anger and ongoing threats she aggrees. The debate is not going well. Lois seeks to shut it down with a call to Lex's daughter, Elizabeth which is unfortunately interrupted by Superman hearing John Henry call to him from a Steel suit that's been taken over as by Milton as well! With control of the Steel suit, and John Henry stuck in it, there's nothing he tries that works. Clark must cause so much damage that the suit will fail which forces Milton to eject John Henry distracting Superman having to save him from a fatal fall from the sky. Meanwhile the suit flies back to Milton where he wants to make upgrades for Lex. Amanda expresses her desire to take the relationship with Lex to the next level and he agrees. Milton has upgraded the suit and made it worthy of Lex. Clark shares the hard news with the boys. Sam's heart is not fully compatible with his body, and his powers are starting to fade, eventually making him mortal. It's a sad and shocking reveal in yet another new direction for Superman. Hi and welcome to the OWN IT podcast, where we celebrate the growing number of (women and non-binary) ad agency owners and talk about buying out of the boys' club of advertising, one agency at a time.  I'm Christy Hiler, owner of Cornett and today, we're talking to Sue Kramer of Connecting Dots Guru. Sue is a filmmaker and screenwriter who proudly wears the title of creative disruptor. The first part of her career was spent as a successful screenwriter. She also directed the film Gray Matters with A-list stars like Heather Graham, Tom Cavanaugh and Sissy Spacek. She transitioned to owning an agency after taking time off to raise her daughter. But every time she switched from one hat to another, she had doubters and explained to me that doubt is a gender bias. I love her explanation of that in our conversation.  There's a lot to dig into here. Sue is also a Latina activist who created the “Be Dope. Vote” campaign and platform in 2020. Voting, you'll hear, is a major pursuit in her life.  And … she's a dancer! I told you there was a lot to cover! Enjoy my conversation with Sue Kramer. Thanks for listening to this episode of OWN IT. You can find links to Sue Kramer's LinkedIn profile and Connecting Dots Guru website in our show notes at untilyouownit.com. If you're enjoying Own It, please find it on your favorite podcast app and drop us a rating and review. Those help more people discover the show and join our community.  Also, if you're a female or non-binary agency owner, or you want to own an agency someday, join our growing community at that same address … untilyouownit.com.

For Episode 75 I had a conversation with Tom Cavanaugh. We mostly talked about his time playing in bands in Syracuse. The bands we discuss include Blood Runs Black, Hermon Dekalb, Darker Day Tomorrow, and Santa Sangre. This is the first time that I can think of that I've interviewed someone who was on tour over 2000 miles away from home when 9/11 happened. Tom also has a really cool story about becoming friends with the band Overcast in the 1990s. Fast forward about a decade and Mike from Overcast was now playing in Killswitch Engage. Tom talks about how he ended up becoming the guitar tech for Killswitch Engage for many years, leading to him traveling the world with the band. I'm sure I could have made an entire episode just asking him questions about all of the people he met and experiences he had during these years. I also could have spent an entire episode asking Tom about all of the classic Syracuse Hardcore bills some of his bands were on. Blood Runs Black played some pretty legendary New Year's Day shows, among others. Tom has been living in South Florida for about 20 years and has also even played with a couple bands down there. We also talked about how Santa Sangre has taken on a second life some two decades later, with Closed Casket Activities reissuing their LP. I'm including the link for that as well as the limited cassette that Buske also recently released in the show notes. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 69th episode of "VideoFuzzy," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 2,900 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Belligerent Optimism," comments on "Grey's Anatomy" segue into overarching themes, and in milestone news, as of this episode I've cataloged Disc 1000 in my Classic Collection! I posted a "throwback Thursday" pic on my VideoFuzzy Facebook page of me and that disc from when I first burned it in April 2009 to when I finally cataloged it last month. Check it out! In Corrections, the release date on the next James Bond, "No Time to Die," has been pushed to next year sometime. Also, I admit to cultural appropriation at times in this production, slipping into voice and characters in my podcast, impressions and other instances. I try to limit the inappropriateness of these instances, but I am aware of them, and if something sounds wrong, please contact me. I'm always trying to do better. In Old Business, I wanted to highlight and celebrate other aspects of comedian Sarah Silverman's work, and wish her a happy 50th in December. In my Friday Night Feature, I find a strong episode of "Grey's Anatomy" on disc 976, centered on a death row inmate who is expressing contrition and a wish that his organs, scheduled for termination at the hand of the state, save a young boy in need of a liver transplant. I pulled up a past episode for some background on the story arcs this fifth-season episode, "Stairway to Heaven," resolves, closing on a stark realization for Izzy Stevens in hallucinating her late boyfriend Denny Duquette. In cross connections, I am struck by how the realities of cancer have touched, darkened, textured and destroyed lives of patients, survivors, friends and families throughout human history. My show title is from an interview by late Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who succumbed to cancer recently. I noted several storylines I'd traced in discs from this set like "Grey's Anatomy," "Nip/Tuck" and "Battlestar Galactica" and other shows in my collection, together with such high-profile losses of Ginsburg, Gwen Ifill, Richard Hatch, Eddie Van Halen and Diana Rigg. In more conventional cross connections, I look at Eric Stolz in "Grey's Anatomy," Dina Meyer in "Nip/Tuck," Gena Rowlands and Marc Vann in "Monk," Andy Richter in "Bones," Danny Strong in "Leverage," Maggie Siff in ABC's "Life on Mars" reboot, Mira Sorvino and Omar Sharif in NBC miniseries "The Last Templar," Tom Irwin in "24" and "LOST," and oh WOW there were just a ton of cross-connections in the office dramedy "Trust Me," including Eric McCormick, Tom Cavanaugh, Tim Russ, Jason O'Mara, Adam Scott, Monica Potter, Griffon Dunn and Rhea Seehorn. I close out by tracing a Golden Thread on Chase Kim, appearing in my recording of "Leverage" on disc 1000. In my classic VHS-to-DVD collection, comments on an episode of "Fringe" open onto a Fond Reflection on the recent passing of Diana Rigg. On a related note, a fan posted this video celebrating the vivacious Mrs. Emma Peel. Also, I've archived a recording from the inauguration of Barack Obama across four discs, with comments on the season 4 finale of "The West Wing," "Battlestar Galactica," "Nip/Tuck" and "South Park," Fox Movie Channel's presentation of "Looking for Richard," and the Turner Classic Movies presentation of "Annie Hall." In my Current direct-to-DVD recordings, comments on "Fargo," "Archer," Syfy's presentation of "Dead Still," IFC's presentation of "Eyes Wide Shut" and the Sundance presentation of "The Green Mile." Plus I trace the rather eye-popping body of work by actor Steven Tobolowsky. Finally, I have updated my Facebook and podcast page to include a "top ten" episode guide for people looking for a quick read-in on this blog and podcast effort. Enjoy!

This time they've found an interesting way to bring our "favorite" Wells back. We know we will see him again, it's just a matter of when. We also see that they're leaning heavily into Tom Cavanaugh's uncanny ability to play different versions of Wells and pull it off. Also Eva's plan is starting to come together (but folks are starting to notice that Mirror Iris is a bit off). This season is doing a really good job of pulling everything together. We can't wait to see it all come together. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. In Part 2 of their conversation, Tony Award winner Donna Murphy shares with Ilana personal stories of how she began her career. She recalls hilarious details of being cast early on -- even when the odds were against her. And she talks about how she prepared with great precision for her audition for the role of "Fosca" in Sondheim's Passion -- a rolethat secured her place as a Broadway legend. She explains how Sondheim and Lapine work together and describes their collaboration as "shared poetry."  With great sensitivity and rawness, Donna discusses how she now negotiates life and work after the death of her beloved husband and partner, Shawn Elliott.  And ... she sings on the podcast!!! Donna Murphy’s award-winning performances in theater, film and television have forged a career of exceptional diversity, impressing both audiences and critics with her depth and skill. This “seductive actress of major transformative powers” (NY Times) was named by New York Magazine as one of “Three Living Legends” of the New York Theater and awarded in 2003 one of their prestigious “New York Awards” for her work in the theater. One of the most beloved and honored stage actresses of her generation, Murphy earned the Drama League Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater. She currently shares the iconic role of Dolly Gallagher Levi with the legendary Bette Midler in the Tony Award winning revival of "Hello, Dolly!," for which she has received great critical acclaim. Ms. Murphy received the first of two Tony® Awards for Best Actress in a Musical, along with the Drama Desk and Drama League Awards, for her spellbinding creation of Fosca in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s "Passion," which was filmed for PBS’ American Playhouse. She received her second Tony® Award, as well as a Drama League Award and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations, for her “resplendent, matchless” (New York Post) performance as Anna Leonowens in the 1996 Tony® Award-winning revival of "The King and I." In 2004, she was honored with the Drama League Outstanding Achievement Award for her work in Musical Theater, the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Astaire Awards, as well as another Tony® nomination, for her hilarious comic tour de force as Ruth Sherwood in the Broadway Revival of "Wonderful Town." She returned to Broadway in 2007, receiving Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Awards, and a Tony® nomination for her mesmerizing portrayal of the legendary actress-singer Lotte Lenya in "LoveMusik," directed by Harold Prince.  Murphy’s first television film, HBO’s “Someone Had to be Benny,” earned her a Cable Ace Award as Best Actress in a Drama Special or Series, as well as a Daytime Emmy. Most recently, she starred as Jane Green, the matriarch of a prominent Southern family torn apart by the Civil War in PBS’ Mercy Street and guest starred on ABC’s hit show “Quantico” and CBS’ “Doubt” with Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox. Other regular and recurring appearances include the mysterious “elegant woman” Angela Forrester in ABC’s “Resurrection,” Georgie on VH1’s “Hindsight,” Darlene Garretti on CBS’ “Made in Jersey” alongside Janet Montgomery and Kyle McLaughlin, the steely Denise Goodman on TNT’s “Trust Me” with Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanaugh, Heather Olshansky in CBS’ “Hack” opposite David Morse, and her critically acclaimed comedic performance as the neurotic psychiatrist Dr. Ruby Stern on ABC’s sitcom, “What About Joan,” starring Joan Cusack.  For her contribution to the Arts, Culture and Public life, she’s received special honors from New York Magazine, Symphony Space, Greenwich Village’s Caring Community, the Women’s Project, The Little Orchestra Society, Irish America Magazine, the Breukelein Institute and Emerson College.

So he's...not so much a scientist as an...author? He's a goofball with a heart of gold and really not much to offer Team Flash? I gotta admit, I'm not without my concerns. I'm a tad bit uncertain about the whole "revolving-door-of-Harrys" Not that Tom Cavanaugh isn't up to the task. If you told me he'd be playing a 14-year-old Russian ballerina, I'd say "Yeah, I can see it." I just don't know what the point is beyond keeping him on the show, and I guess that just isn't enough for me. Do I think the Flash has jumped the shark? (or King Shark?) No, not at all. But I swear I heard a motorcycle revving up for a second. That being said...Tom Felton? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, Read more... I'm your host Marc Hershon and this IS Epi 96 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. (If you missed it, there WAS an Epi 95.5 which I did from the road when I headed down to the 3rd Annual Los Angeles Podcast Festival - check out the blog entry just beneath this one!) I was hoping to record this episode as I was sitting in the Squarespace Podcast Lab, surrounded by podcasters interviewing other podcasters. But the time got away from me – it seems there was always someone else to interview or to be interviewed by for THEIR show. I will be featuring my own interviews with other podcasters over the next bunch of shows but not on THIS episode. This episode features my interview with Robert Campos and Donna LoCIcero, the movie makers behind 3 Still Standing, a documentary that looks at the San Francisco comedy scene back to the 1980s through the lives and careers of a trio of local comedians: Will Durst, Johnny Steele, and Larry “Bubbles” Brown. I found one of the interesting things about Robert and Donna is that they’re not from a comedy background but are real, bona fide documentarians who have done hours of material for television. You'll hear about their fascinating background and how they cooked up the idea for the project. This is their first feature-length film and they’re coming at it as fans of comedy. I think you’ll enjoy our chat… …Not to mention a sneak peek of the movie itself! Here's the trailer… 3 Still Standing from beanfieldproductions on Vimeo.  Chillpak "Partycast" I made the drive to Los Angeles from San Francisco in time to catch the Chillpak Hollywood Hour live "partycast" from the Bottle Rock bar in downtown LA. I was a lively time but I haven't had a chance to snip a bit of that show for you yet. But thanks to hosts Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness for putting on the dog. The 10 Most Active Shows On Sticher's Top 100 Comedy Podcast List As mentioned before, this feature may be cut in the near future in order to save us time on the podcast UNLESS there are some vocal or social advocates who want to stand up for it. Everyone, including themselves, thought that hosts Michael Ian Black and Tom Cavanaugh, were dead. But they’re not. They’re alive and snacking. And they celebrated their returns with a snack as old as snacks themselves…the humble hard boiled egg. We Have ConcernsI dropped a mention of the podcast We Have Concerns a couple of months ago in the This Week In Comedy Podcasts column on Splitsider.com. But we hadn’t yet played a clip. Jeff Cannata and Anthony Carboni have a lot of fun delving in the wonder and dread hidden inside seemingly innocuous things. F’rinstance, this clip is from their recent episode Algorithm is a Dancer. Dom Irrera LIVE from the Laugh FactoryI can’t believe that comedian Dom Irrera is almost 100 epis into his podcast, Dom Irrera LIVE from the Laugh Factory, and we’ve never featured a clip from his show before. Thanks to Tyson Saner, our Associate Producer, we are now. He does his show, interviewing comedians and talking about Hollywood, right from Hollywood’s Laugh Factory comedy store. Our clip is from a recent episode where Dom is talking to comedian John Heffron. Stick a fork in Epi96 because it’s done! We had clips. We had chat. We had pants. Coming up next episode will be more clips and one or two of the miniviews I had with some of the podcasters at the 3rd Annual LA Podfest.
