This is Thierry Henry as you rarely hear him - brutally honest, analytical and still completely obsessed with competition, winning and perfection at the highest level of football.Henry visits Rio at his Airbnb in LA and opens up on the mentality behind his legendary career, including the coach at Clairefontaine who completely changed his understanding of how he moved on the pitch and why he genuinely preferred creating goals over scoring them himself - even if people never believe him. There's some extraordinary insight into Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with Henry explaining why Messi's work ethic is hugely underrated, how quickly he justified the total freedom given to him by manager Pep Guardiola and why football should stop trying to compare the two greatest players of their generation. He also shares brilliant stories around Messi's mentality, aura inside the dressing room and how he developed into a killer from set-pieces.The conversation dives into the modern game too, with Henry arguing football has become too robotic and explaining why players like Lamine Yamal, Michael Olise and Rayan Cherki stand out because they still take risks and play with freedom. There's also special praise for Cherki's dribbling ability whilst pointing out that if the Man City forward develops his mentality off the ball he could become unstoppable. There's huge praise too for Harry Kane, Julian Alvarez and Bruno Fernandes, with Henry defending Bruno's mentality before Henry also discusses France's World Cup chances, Ousmane Dembélé's evolution into a winning player and why England genuinely could have won the 2002 World Cup if they had beaten Brazil. We're back twice in a matter of days as Tottenham have agreed a deal with Brighton to sign defender Jan Paul van Hecke. The deal is believed to be around £52M and the player has expressed his desire to play under 'father figure' Roberto De Zerbi. The centre-back only wanted to join Tottenham. Spurs' statement of intent appears to be taking shape as Tottenham want to sign Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer. The Italy international is a top target for Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi as he looks to rebuild his squad after helping the club avoid relegation from the Premier League. One of Spurs' top priorities this summer is improving the technical ability of the squad and bringing in a midfielder who can dictate play. The club also remain interested in Manchester City forward Savinho meanwhile Brighton target Luka Vuskovic wants to leave Tottenham permanently. Joe Hart was England's number one for over a decade, won two Premier Leagues at Manchester City, and was one of the most recognisable goalkeepers of his generation. Then Pep Guardiola arrived - and everything changed. In this conversation with Jake and Damian, Joe speaks with remarkable honesty about the mental block that nearly ended his City career before it peaked, the moment he felt genuinely unbeatable and how quickly that unravelled, and what it was really like inside England's tournament camps when the pressure was at its highest. He also gives his most direct assessment of why England kept falling short at major tournaments - and it's not the answer most people expect. Then comes the harder chapter. The loans, the exits, the moment he genuinely thought professional football was done with him. And finally Celtic, Ange Postecoglou, and an ending so good he admits it scared him.Two sides to Joe Hart: the warrior who needed to be the last line of defence, and the kid from Shrewsbury who never stopped being amazed he got to play. England finished off their World Cup warmups with a 3-0 win over Costa Rica in Orlando, but only after they'd been made to wait by adverse weather. Declan Rice, Anthony Gordon and Ollie Watkins scored as attention now turns to the game against Croatia next week, as Thomas Tuchel's men look to finally bring football home. Back on domestic soil, one of England's stars is the subject of a mega-money bid from Manchester City. Elliot Anderson is a wanted man, with City reportedly having bid over £100m for the Nottingham Forest midfielder. Despite being no longer a Premier League side, Wolves are making headlines too. Download SAILY in your app store and use our code 'LWOS' at checkout to get an exclusive 15% off your first purchase! For further details go to https://saily.com/lwos On this edition of the show we return to discuss Tottenham Hotspur making an offer to sign defender Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton & Hove Albion. The proposal for the 25-year-old fell short of Brighton's valuation, but talks continue and as a direct result of how serious the bid was, a transfer could be finalised before the World Cup with the player keen on the move. Barring any late disasters, free transfers for left-back Andy Robertson and left-sided centre-back Marcos Senesi are expected to be pushed through to be announced after the Premier League transfer window opens on June 15. Both players currently have contracts with Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively until the end of this month. Spurs are getting two ball-playing defenders, the numbers back that up. Senesi and Van Hecke are a level above Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in terms of passing ability, we discuss where that leaves Spurs other defenders and who are vulnerable to a summer move. Romero's future looks increasingly like being spent away from the club next season once the World Cup is done, with the expectation since January that he would leave, we discuss if we are all ready to see the captain depart. We also discuss Spurs' ongoing pursuit of Savinho, with Tottenham considering making an offer, however no direct approach to Man City has yet been made one could come in the next few days. Tottenham also want a central midfielder who can pass from deep, and are among the clubs who like Hayden Hackney, but it's believed that Roberto De Zerbi has put forward Bruno Guimarães to Tottenham Hotspur and he is viewed as a dream target; however a deal would be tough to do, we reflect on whether that would truly show the ambition of the football club. We close on what would be logical window in terms of what Spurs need to rebuild with Roberto De Zerbi only having to navigate one-game-a-week without any European commitments. And in a wide-ranging interview during his annual end-of-season reflection, the Chairman said he was confident City's success would continue and the guiding principles that underpin the Club would remain exactly the same. Musa and Ryan begin with a quick mention of Arne Slot's Liverpool departure, which will take the focus on Thursday's show before getting onto the men's Champions League final (04:04), which saw PSG retain the trophy after their penalty shootout win in Budapest. There's chat about Arsenal's impressive start, how PSG struggled to create too many clear looks and the narrow margins that played out for the rest of the two hours of normal and extra-time. There's a load of praise for Luis Enrique, plus multiple players on both teams.Ryan was one of the many hundreds of thousands at the parade in London on Sunday, so there's a bit on that (38:20), how it was exactly what Arsenal needed following the disappointment of Saturday's result and the joy that was on show. Finally, there's a shoutout for Manchester City's women doing the domestic double (48:53), José Mourinho returning to Real Madrid and James Milner retiring.Check out Musa's interview with Zohran Mamdani for GQ here. The panel return on this edition to discuss Tottenham Hotspur closing in on the signings of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, with both deals now agreed in principle as Roberto De Zerbi's rebuild gathers pace in North London. We also reflect on the news that Tottenham Hotspur have ‘pulled out' of the race to sign Joao Palhinha. Spurs' buy option expires on Monday, and Sporting CP are moving ahead with the deal. Talks with Bayern Munich are expected to follow. Palhinha impressed on loan at Spurs and has expressed a desire to stay, with the London club holding a €30 million purchase option. Sporting want to bring the 30-year-old back to Lisbon, where he began his career. The midfielder is willing to take a significant pay cut to rejoin his boyhood club, and a broad understanding with the player is said to be in place. A new loan move for Luka Vuskovic to Hamburger SV is apparently not a current option avaliable. The Croatian has two options: Long-term contract extension with high salary. A move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Talks are ongoing over the player's future. Luka Vuskovic has revealed his Tottenham future will not be decided until after the World Cup. We discuss what the best next step is for the youngster. Tottenham Hotspur are expected to strengthen their attack this summer, and a new report suggests that Marcus Rashford could become an option. Spurs have reportedly shown interest in signing Marcus Rashford this summer after a 28-goal contribution season with Barcelona, during which he scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists. We debate whether the Club could entice him into coming to the club and whether Spurs can get the best out of him. Finally we close on the news that Spurs have launched an internal review into last season. An internal review has been ongoing since the appointment of Dan Lewindon as Performance Director from Manchester City. This comes after he found significant challenges within Spurs. He joined the Club one day before Thomas Frank was sacked. We reflect on whether the Club will take the learnings from last season and put them into action in both the upcoming window in addition to decisions made both off/on the pitch.
