Today is Saturday, April 27, 2024, and this is episode #11 in Season 2024. This episode is titled “What Will Happen to You after You Die?"There's an old saying that goes like this: Only two things in life are certain--Death and Taxes. With apologies to the late, great Jane Austen, it is a truth universally acknowledged that all men will one day die. Despite current endeavors in trans-humanism—which is the merging of man and machine—man in his physical state is not immortal. One day his body will die. Plain and simple.While people may grapple with the fear of death, they usually don't think about what happens after death. In this week's podcast, I would like to explore this very topic of what happens after physical death and why we should be concerned.Let's first take a look at what a human being really is. You, my friend, are an amazing creation of God. Contrary to what the evolutionists may tell you, you did not evolve from lower forms of life. You were created directly by God Himself, fashioned by His heart and His hands for His purpose. You are not here by accident. God intended for you to be here at this moment in time and at your particular place in time. Whether your parents wanted you or not, God wanted you. Psalm 27: 10 says this: "Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close."Now, when God made you, He made you in His image. This means that you are a reflection of Him. How? Well, God is a three-part Being: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Since you are made in God's image, you, too, are a three-part being: spirit, soul, and body. Your spirit is who you are at the core. The real you. Your soul comprises your intellect or mind, your emotions, and your will. All of this is housed in your body, which I call your "earth suit." When God first created man, man's spirit was connected to God. When man's spirit was connected to God, man enjoyed an abundant life of peace, joy, and love in a place called the Garden of Eden. But when man disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, man's spirit was severed from God. Man had already known good. But now, after his sin, he began to know evil as well. And, sad to say , man has known evil ever since. Man's sin put him in a major dilemma. His spirit was now separated from God, and there was no way for man to connect himself back to God. Because of his sin, man was now corrupted and imperfect. God, of course, was pure and perfect. As an imperfect being, man could not reconnect himself to a perfect Being.So what could man do?Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Man could never reconnect himself back to God. Yet, without that reconnection, man was totally helpless, lost, and damned to an eternity of punishment in hell. For his sin had to be paid for, and man could not pay for it.Yet, something amazing happened. Something completely unexpected. God the Father loved man so much in spite of man's sin that God sent His only-begotten Son Jesus Christ to reconnect man back to Himself. That is what the Cross is all about, my friend. Jesus, the perfect God, gave His life as the punishment for your sin and mine. In other words, Jesus took the rap for our sin.It would be like someone going to the electric chair for you today. Who would do that? No one I know. But Jesus Christ did it for you and for me. You see, sin always has punishment attached to it. Sin is a violation of God's holiness, and God not only will not tolerate sin, but he also cannot tolerate it. He is holy, and sin cannot stand in His Presence.Well, since Adam was now corrupted by sin, he was in no position to pay the price for sin. Someone had to do it for him. And that Someone was Jesus Christ.This is the reason Jesus came to earth as a human being.

I don't know about you but I'm FASCINATED with Medicare Advantage (MA). Massive growth, fueled by its shrewd marketing of added benefits beyond traditional Medicare. But also chaotic, messy, a program in need of reining in.   It's a bit of the wild west.  I like some things about MA, including its emphasis on preventative care and aligning patients outcomes with rewards. But I'm also routinely disappointed by its excesses and denial of medically necessary care.   Some days MA seems poised to overtake and end traditional Medicare. But every time I think that, another shoe drops. Intensive audits from the OIG, and sharp criticism from the likes of former CMS administrator Don Berwick. Welcome! We come to you ready to chat after only 4 hours of fantasy suites on the Bachelorette this week. Question: Where are you unwilling to sleep? Two minute recap: We are reminded, frequently, over the course of Monday and Tuesday night that Rachel and Gabby were hurt by Clayton during the fantasy suite episodes. First up, Erich and Gabby. They both declare love for each other. Not-a-metaphor of a date, they take a jump into the water. Gabby is scared then eventually jumps. They have a meaningful conversation while the television screen blacks out Gabby's butt and then they go to the fantasy suite. Rachel chooses to start fantasy suites with Aven. Half of her date with Aven is actually an interview between Jesse and Tino about how much Tino can't handle the idea of Rachel with anyone else. And I guess he should be worried because after the fantasy suite rachel says Aven is the “full package” Twice.Next we watch Tino and Rachel. They basically avoid talking about the whole his parents situation until dinner. Then he's like, nah they like you and if we get engaged they will come around. Somehow Rachel's like that'll do. Then Tino says I love you and Rachel says I love you too (WHAT!) and they go to their hotel room. Gabby and Jonny's day is short. They have fun then Jonny's like yeah, I'm not really ready to settle down. Gabby walks away to think. Then they break up. Then we see glimpses of Jason saying about the same thing as Jonny. Hold on Gabby…Then Erich comes in and not knowing that this whole thing is totally unrolling in his favor, he has to go and say i dont know how I feel about you sleeping with other people. Then they pause the episdoe for TuesdayNight two starts with Gabby and Erich on the bridge. Their conversation ends awkwardly.Jason and Gabby. They go on a date and it seems to be going well. But Gabby feels like she's grasping for something that isn't there and Jason– like what is he doing. Finally he comes clean and explains that he's not ready for an engagement. Gabby tries hard to make it about the show and him being quiet. They go to the fantasy suite and then wake up in separate rooms. Eventually I guess he realized that he just doesn't want to relationship with Gabby. Rachel and Zach. They are super nerdy together and boring. So boring. They go to fantasy suites. It is awkward. Like what happened there. Zach says that she grilled him about being ready and then kept questioning his age. We see Rachel and her guys getting ready for the rose ceremony. Zach is mad. He pulls her aside. WHAT WILL HAPPEN! Gabby tells Erich he's the only one and they say I love you. Then the weirdest most annoying ending. They just stop the episode and Jesse is all like you need to prepare yourself. Good god. Just shorten the episodes. Get this done in one hour and spare us all.Concept 1: Was Erich testing Gabby? He knew what he signed up for, are his concerns justified?Concept 2: Jesse Palmer: Let's talk about his listening and advice giving skills.Concept 3: Leading people on. Did Jason lead on Gabby? Did Rachel lead on Zach?Host 2 wildcard topic: I want one of the guys to decide they want to marry the other principle (so Gabby's guy decides he wants Rachel/Nicole or vice versa).
