The expanding digital footprint in tier III and IV areas as well as in rural India, along with the aspirational needs of these consumers and their changing attitudes towards online buying present a massive opportunity, as per the report titled, 'Value e-commerce: the next big leap in India's retail market'.

In this solo episode I talk through the four steps of the client value ladder and the skills you need to deliver value at every level. It's particularly relevant for you if you are managing the day to day client relationships but are also responsible for account growth and delivering on your agency's forecast. Many of us in agency account management know that acquiring a new client is 5 to 25 times more expensive than retaining an existing one (1) & increasing client retention rate by 5% increases profit by 25% to 95% (2), but another study by Gartner reported that a whopping 80% of a company's future sales will be derived from 20% of their existing client base! (3). This makes the skill of growing existing business very important. What's less well known, and also shown in another study by Gartner called 'Why your accounts aren't growing and what to do about it', is that the account management skills required to retain accounts are DIFFERENT to those required to grow (4). The report showed that providing exceptional service leads to retention, not growth. This means that as agency account managers we need to be thinking about how we need to behave differently if we're responsible for growing our existing accounts. The report concluded that mastering “client improvement conversations” increases your ability to grow an account by 48% and increases likelihood of renewal or retention of spend by 94% (4). If handled poorly or indelicately however these conversations could damage relationships and trust (4). 'Value improvement conversations' are defined by the three following actions: 1. Provide customers with a unique, critical perspective 2. Paint a vision of the customer's future business 3. Provide customers with an ROI on the entirety of the relationship I hope you enjoy this episode and come away with ideas for the skills you need to develop or that you are indeed on the right track with your client development strategy.

Both games had updates this week and after a long wait, we have a better idea about what to expect from each of the upcoming AAA titles, but are our hype levels still what they were when they were announced? We discuss. Elsewhere we talk about PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan's comments that the PS5 will focus on value rather than price. What does this mean? Should this worry us as those who have to pay out for the thing? What's the realistic number for us to jump in on day one? Does our hype for the next-generation of PlayStation games means we'll pay any price? Rumours abound, there's much to dissect. We also talk Xbox Lockhart, with an article on The Verge claiming its validity and specs, would y we pay for a lesser Xbox Series X when we can play most of its first-party line-up on our Xbox One systems anyway? This is a weird time for Xbox and they're gonna need to market this thing correctly if we're going to change our minds, because we have OPINIONS. On the surface, this seems like a curious phenomenon, however once you begin to understand how the money we use affects our behaviour, it begins to become more clear why this occurs. However, this topic does not often get discussed at conferences, as more economic, technical or investment-related discussions predominate. It is my view that the only thing that REALLY matters, is how the tools we use change our behaviour. As a result, I thought it would be interesting to bring together some awesome bitcoiners to discuss how engaging in bitcoin has influenced their lives, and how they see it continuing to do so into the future. Integration is more than just putting Tech A together with Tech B via an API. Integration goes to the heart of how things work together: people, process and THEN technology. I figured the smart people I know would have something to say about the topic. And boy was I right. After more than an hour of conversation, digested down to ~30 minutes for you, the viewer, I give you Consultants Saying Things - The One About Value Networks. In Episode 7, Chris, Shashi, Bill and Phil discuss integration and value networks. Topics include: - What do we really mean when we say 'integration' ? - What is a value network? - Why should we care?

On the Wednesday July 24th 2013 broadcast at 12 noon Pacific/3PM Eastern my special guest is thought leader and advocate for patient centric healthcare Leonard Kish, aka @LeonardKish progenitor of the 'Patient Engagement is the Blockbuster Drug of Century'  characterization by Dave Chase. In a recent blog post Leonard equated the push into ACOs as the equivalent of the new, new thing i.e., the 'new OS' in moving the needle forward in our quest for the 'triple aim'. Tying comments from Jam Hansen on the disruptive nature of ACOS, i.e., 'Value-based care is a transformational journey, not a backend contract driven program that you overlay onto your existing delivery system organization’s people, processes and technologies and expect different results” to a Microsoft value proposition analogy made by Tim O'reily Leonard notes: '..the OS abstracts away the difficulty in managing all the devices and processes the computer runs so applications can focus on what the user wants to do. When Microsoft entered the market in the 80s that was their value proposition, simplicity for developing new applications by abstracting away the other processes. Health care, under value-based payment, will soon have the same opportunity.' Leonard is a deep and insightful thinker in the space, our previous discussion of his take was in the form of 'dark matter in healthcare: patient goals'. Join us for an informative chat!
