Leon Logothetis had a highly successful career in London's financial industry, but he was deeply depressed. So he switched gears entirely and became a global adventurer, a TV host, a motivational speaker, and a bestselling author. All of which was fueled by an exploration of kindness – both the giving of it and the receiving of it – and shining a light on the best of the traits human beings have in common. This led to a hugely successful television series called The Kindness Diaries, and to other globetrotting projects that combined adventure with meaningful causes. They raised a great deal of money for people in need. It also led to best-selling books such as Amazing Adventures of a Nobody, The Kindness Diaries, and Live, Love, Explore. He recently produced a fascinating film called The Kindness Within: A Journey to Freedom. The film, which is streaming online, follows Leon on his spiritual quest in India, where he searched for answers to questions that still plagued him and the chronic depression that continued to plague him. The answers he found can illuminate all of our spiritual paths. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Naomi Swartzentruber was born into the Swartzentruber Amish sect in rural Michigan. She enjoyed a traditional Amish upbringing working hard in the fields and in the home while being insulated from English culture. At 17 years old, Naomi ran away from home and into the world of exotic dancing, escorting, and drugs. Naomi shares how her journey empowered her and allowed her to be a voice for the voiceless through writing her book The Amazing Adventures of an Amish Stripper. Naomi is kind and insightful and is a testament to how someone from the Amish community can be thrust into American culture and experiences and use trauma and and her personal battles to come out the other side as a healthy, positive mother and partner. This is the most unique story told on Those Who Do so far! This IS Those Who Do: Former Amish Ex-Stripper w/Naomi Swartzentruber. Naomi's Book (Click on Image)

It's the big one, the book that won Michael Chabon the Pulitzer Prize, the 600-some page behemoth known as "The Adventures of Cavalier & Clay". The Book Boys knew that they were going to need some backup for this one, so they called in Nat of Collective Action Comics for a Two-Fisted Team-Up! We had so much fun talking about this one that it ended up being our first two-parter. As always, we hope you enjoy the conversation!
So, I'll let you guess. What if I say he wrote Avengers, Defenders, Captain America and the Hulk at Marvel…? How about Justice League, Green Lantern Corps, and Detective Comics at DC…? No…? The Joker Fish…? Amazing Adventures featuring The Beast…? Oh, that did it. Yeah, it's Steve Engelhart! And now you wanna go re-read all those comics, don't you? Yeah…me too. When Barry Shumaker found himself in church in his late 30s for the first time in years, he had no idea how God would use the people there to disciple him towards saving faith in Jesus Christ. One of those people was a woman named Cherrie, who walked with Barry as he wrestled with his questions about faith and prayed fervently for his salvation. Little did Barry know, Cherrie would not only play a significant role in his salvation story, but she would also become his wife. Fast forward over 30 years, and in June 2022, the Lord unexpectedly called Cherrie home. Now, Barry is in a new chapter of his life, leaning on the Lord to guide him wherever it is He pleases.
