We’re nearing the end of the month, and this is something on all our minds: bills. Experts see the jobless rate to approaching 20% in May with another 2.4 million workers having filed for jobless benefits last week. Meanwhile, Latinos already have the highest unemployment rate as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics earlier this month. Nearly one in five Latinos are unemployed. So if someone is unemployed or financial unstable, how do they begin to tackle bills and debt? We speak with Francisco Arceo, Founder and CEO of Unidos, a technology company set on bringing financial wellness to the Latino community.

Wide ranging conversation about humankind’s addition to plastic. Artist Maria Arceo collects plastic from the river Thames and tells stories to impact change.

This episode is a bit different, and it acts more of a conversation, but it’s a darn good conversation. I met Ronald talking on Shapr, a swipy-like app for business people and just to let you know, I get a lot more meetings on Shapr than the other ones and they’re productive as well. Ronald has been on TEDEx, he was an ex-magician, has done several media expenditures, web design work, and has a huge passion and curiosity in food So we talk a lot of cool stuff about food, but also take this as just a casual talk with two very creative people. We try and understand each other, and we do quite well I’d say. Think of this episode a bit differently, not just about the job Ronald has, but also his mindset, or his ability to create, pivot, and entertain. Originally from Mexico City, CEO and founder of Arceo Financial Group Edgar Arceo came to America to go into the ministry. While it’s not in the church, he’s actually doing what he set out to do, which is to help as many people possible change their lives. The difference is that he ministers to their financial investment needs. Edgar says that before he could guide others in their finances he had to change his mindset. Then he gathered courage to open his own business. First he worked as a financial planner at other people’s companies. That put him on a path, but Edgar found that he couldn’t agree with the practices at those companies, so he set out on his own. As the owner of his own financial group, he helps all sorts of people get more out of their savings and retirement accounts through ethical, well thought-out plans. One tool he sometimes recommends is called a 770 account. Also known as the infinite banking concept, the 770 is named after the part of the IRS code (by the same number) regarding life insurance. It’s a really interesting investment instrument, and it means you can use it as a life benefit as well as a death benefit. In fact, there are so many benefits to this instrument you’ll want to learn about all of them.
