Today, flying is considered the safest mode of transport thanks to modern planes with all the bells and whistles and advanced radar and traffic control systems. Back in the 50s however, things looked rather different. Pilots had to be in control of where they were in relation to other aircraft in the area. I have never gone through depression, so I didn’t know how I was going to act. She is currently working on a forthcoming book of poetry and can be found sharing her work at various venues across Los Angeles. Her work is driven by memories, nostalgia, identity, and rebellion. Her poetry is deeply human, political and intertwined with the Western and Eastern worlds between which she finds herself. Much of her work revolves around the struggles of being a child of diaspora and her themes reflect her life.
