AMDG. Host of EWTN's More2Life podcast, founder of CatholicCounselors.com, and developer of the CatholicHÔM app Greg Popcak joins the Kolbecast to share his wisdom on making your home into a living, vibrant domestic church. “What does a domestic church spirituality even look like,” Dr. Popcak asks, “that would treat family life— the craziness, the busyness, the scatteredness of family life— as a feature, not a bug, of Catholic spirituality?” In today's episode, Dr. Popcak reveals his insights from years of counseling homeschooling families and parents, including some common pitfalls to beware of; explains what an “emotional bank account” is, and how to make sure your children's stay full; analyzes the scientific data on how to raise your children into faithful, Catholic adults; reveals where burnout comes from -- and how to treat it; unpacks what we mean by a “domestic church,” and how you can make your home into one; and shares his advice for those interested in pursuing a counseling career. Whether you're a homeschooling parent looking to deepen your family connection and faith, or a student considering a future career in counseling, this episode has something for you. AMDG. With growth come both opportunity and challenge. As Kolbe Academy has grown, so too have the needs of the community. Part of the way Kolbe is addressing these needs is through the appointment of deans for the elementary, middle, and high school divisions. In this episode, we visit with familiar voices Ashley Massey, Elizabeth Hoxie, and Kelly Powers to find out what they as deans do for Kolbe and how families benefit from these advocates who are working to bring the Kolbe family together.

This episode features four of those marvelous homeroom instructors – Kim Crawford, Brittany Doucette, Michelle Kim, and Jenni Mammola – and offers a glimpse into their clever, compassionate approach to providing a home base for Kolbe middle and high school students regardless of how many courses the students take online. EXTRA, EXTRA! Read all about it! Or well, we used to read all about it in our favourite magazines. This week, the girls sit down to discuss the world of trends, starting with Gen Z's new favourite word for out-of-trend behaviour, "cheugy." A way to describe the actions and fashion of millenials, cheugy is taking the TikTok world by storm and causing even more controversy than when Gen Z cancelled skinny jeans. When wondering if they should address their own "cheugy" vibes, Kenn and Cass realized that, 10 years ago, they would have found the latest trends to ditch or display from their favourite magazines. The magazine industry has drastically changed due to the rise of technology; however, there is still an enigmatic appeal to discovering new fashion pieces or recipes from their silky pages rather than from a website.Taylor Jack, the writer and editor of Kamloops' newest magazine, understood the draw of having something tangible when creating Bonhomie. After finding themselves in unlikely situations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Taylor and the three other co-creators of the magazine, Amanda Agassiz, Natalie Sky, and Marisa Bertoli, found inspiration while re-directing their focus on their local community. Bonhomie highlights the hidden treasures that our city has to offer, and it tells the unique stories of our community members. To support Bonhomie, follow them on Instagram at @Bonhomie_Mag and like their Facebook page! You can pick up your copy of the magazine at Essence Lighting, or keep your eyes open for the new issue to be released at your favourite local business this upcoming Fall. It was the first step on a very successful musical journey that eventually saw him come to the attention of Rough Trade founder, Geoff Travis. Travis had already signed and nurtured an act fronted by Welshman Green Gartside, called Scritti Politti. Travis saw the potential in both men and they soon began a fruitful career as part of the second incarnation of the band. Two globally successful and critically-acclaimed albums followed, Cupid & Psyche '85 and 1988's Provision before the band dispersed, a move brought on by Gartside's overwhelming distaste for the industry.During that period, Gamson spent time producing, writing and arranging for the likes of Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Luther Vandross, occasionally with Green at his side. However, after a painful, drawn out experience recording Provision, David decided to establish himself more as a producer and writer than a band member and his first post-Scritti effort was for Tony LeMans on Prince's Paisley Park Records label. His work as a staff producer at Warner Bros saw him working with Roger Troutman, Sheila E., George Benson and another stint with Chaka Khan. Gamson's work with Meshell Ndegeocello saw him nominated for multiple Grammys. After going independent, David found himself working with Green again on Provision's follow up, 1999's 'Anomie & Bonhomie', this time solely as producer. After this, he turned his hand to film and TV, working alongside Hans Zimmer on Mission Impossible 2.More recently, he has focused on songwriting and has worked with a number of high profile artists including Kesha, Adam Lambert, Jessie J and Quinn XCII. Most notably, he received a songwriting GRAMMY nomination for his work on ‘Stronger' by Kelly Clarkson, a track which sat atop the Billboard Hot #100 for three weeks as well as many other charts worldwide. His work with Charlie XCX, a leading figure in the new PC Music/Hyper Pop genre, came about in no small part due to the fact that Cupid & Psyche '85 is held in very high regard in those circles. He also co-wrote and produced two new tracks for Scritti's Absolute 'best of' compilation with his old friend, Green Gartside, delighting fans of the band worldwide.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_GamsonRob Puricelli BiogRob Puricelli is a Music Technologist and Instructional Designer who has a healthy obsession with classic synthesizers and their history. Last week, the world saw two highly anticipated elections come to an end. The never-ending 2020 U.S. presidential election finally came to a close—with Democratic challenger and former Vice President Joe Biden capturing the White House.
