In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother's Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with Rosa Lokaisingh. Rosa is the founder of Connecting YOU, an Entrepreneur, Coach, Speaker, and co-author of a book called Thought Leaders, Visionaries, and Influencers. Her mission is to see the world connected by heart and spirit. Why? She believes that we are all already connected spiritually, but somehow along the way, have forgotten that, and run around becoming self-sufficient and independent, in becoming a success. KEY TAKEAWAYS We’ve all worked with people we wish we hadn’t bothered with. We’ve tried to force paths to coexist on a line together that really shouldn’t have been together. This happens when you make logical decisions over heartfelt decisions. It’s the clients that you adapt for them that end up being the biggest pain in the backside. You need to be really strong with what you do, why you’re doing it, how much it costs and if other people want to work with you and you resonate together, that’s fantastic. But if you don’t, don’t do it. Perhaps introduce them to someone you think they would work well with instead. Some people think they’ll hustle and grind right now to get the money later and get fit and healthy after hiring a personal trainer. You won’t because your success wasn’t built at that frequency. When you see yourself in the future as a wealthy entrepreneur that doesn’t look like you right now, implement things like the gym or running into your life right now. There’s no barrier to entry to go running or seeing your friends and have fun. Don’t wait for success before implementing these things. The corporate world ruins things for you when you start to set benchmarks every time you hit a certain level of income. That then becomes the baseline, even if it was an anomaly. This applies to salaries too. There’s never an appreciation of where you are right now. There’s a company in the US that owns a hangar in the UK that rents that space out to a photographer to take pictures of people in a private jet, in a Bentley, a Rolls-Royce, a Bugatti, all the slow-motions shots of them coming out and it looks like it’s in a street but it’s a green-screen. I thought: ‘How sad is it that they feel the need to do that.’ But I found out that a lot of the big names in the coaching industry have these shots all over their Instagram. They’re the modern day snake oil tradesmen.
