Sex. Sacrilege. Murder. Tennis. This podcast is all about three out of those four things. Sudden Death, a 1978 novel by Peter Brennan (creator of TV shows Judge Judy and A Current Affair), marks the first time Jack and Kate are venturing into the world of sports thriller fiction. Buckle up, because underneath those tennis whites there's a seething underbelly of drama and corruption.  What could go wrong with a little nun-flavored sex work? Why does every character in this book have the most outrageous backstory ever? Will Jack and Kate learn anything about the sport central to this book? I got to chat to the wonderful Peter Brennan. Pete is the co-founder of the non-alcoholic Aussie beer sensation Heaps Normal. He also owns a Branding and Design Studio called, Electric and Analog. Interestingly, this week I was in Melbourne, having a drink in a pretty swanky cocktail bar. The guy sitting at the bar next to me was drinking Heaps Normal. And I have to say, I don't think that would have happened a few years ago, especially with the way Aussies love to drink. So, this incredible beer is changing drinking culture, challenging what's normal and offering a beautiful solution to what is a huge problem for a lot of people. In this episode we dive into why some ideas fly and others don't. You see Pete's launched a few businesses before this one but never had the success Heaps Normal is having. So What's the difference you might ask and why did this one blow up? It's definitely a few things like timing, having the right people and skills but I'd say it's all about purpose. Pete has a very personal motive driving him and he's deeply connected to the brand's purpose. In this episode you'll hear Pete's story from growing up with an abusive alcoholic father and his own struggles with alcohol and why he had to scratch his own itch. Pete took on the crazy challenge of creating a non-alcoholic beer that actually tastes good! Pete gives us all a creative challenge and it's got to do with finding your purpose. I hope you enjoy the episode. You can find Peter Brennan at his branding and design studio Electric and Analog or on LinkedIn. Pete has had an amazing career, right across the globe, from art directing for Quicksilver in South Africa, directing innovation at ATOMIC 212° in Australia and working at top agencies in the UK, he has had a wide range of experience across all parts of the industry. It was through a few discussions that we thought Pete would be perfect for this mini-series, specifically around the role that Heaps Normal is taking in the alcohol category, where they are promoting mindful drinking, being conscious about what's normal for you and trying to promote a sustainable change to Australia's drinking habits. Their ad this July really caught a lot of attention where they suggested doing your best, cutting back, rather than complete abstinence — acknowledging that different things work for different people.

So, we come to the end of another calendar year, wow, thank you for all the support and listening to us each week as we look at topics we feel deserve more attention. Now this episode we are doing a year in review and discuss what some of our favourites were, what we felt were some of the highlights and what was just downright funny. So strap in as we look back on a year full of robots, space travel, recycling, and the energetic joy of Katie Bouman, and that is just the start. We also go for a ride looking at the movies and tv series that have made us laugh, cry, scream, and sit in awe throughout the year. We discuss the controversy of crazy violence and insanity in movies such as Rambo – Last Blood. Yep some one has claimed it is… Nope you will need to listen in to know what is happening. Also we look at the year in games and take stock of what has happened. We laugh at some of it, get annoyed at some, and shake our heads in bewilderment at others. We recap what has been some of the most exciting and stand out moments for us this year in terms of topics. We also include some special shout outs, remembrances, birthdays, and events for the end of the year.
