A former Speaker believes suggested punishments for three Te Pāti Māori MPs falls short. Parliament's Privileges Committee has recommended suspensions for the three - for their protest haka during voting on the Treaty Principles Bill. Parliament will vote next Tuesday on whether to suspend the co-leaders for 21 days, and MP Hana Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke for seven. David Carter says the haka was 'intimidating' and 'unacceptable'. "And then to refuse to appear before the Privileges Committee - again, it's yet another contempt of the rules of Parliament." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A ground-breaking hīkoi of 42,000 people descended on Parliament today, telling lawmakers to kill ACT's Treaty Principles Bill. It passed its first reading last week in a session punctuated by Te Pāti Māori's Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke leading a fiery haka and being suspended. Bill author, David Seymour, says Parliament Speaker Gerry Brownlee should tighten the rules. Former Speaker David Carter says Brownlee should possibly pass it on to the Standing Orders Committee. "What's very clear as you chair those meetings is - all politicians realise that they may well be in opposition at some stage, so they make rules that actually make our Parliament work." Police say one person was arrested at today's protest. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A former Speaker of the House says Julie Anne Genter's behaviour yesterday was 'dreadful'. The Green MP crossed the debating chamber last night, confronting Associate Transport Minister Matt Doocey at his seat and waving a booklet in his face. David Carter says a 2007 scuffle between MPs Trevor Mallard and Tau Henare was outside the chambers. Carter says Genter could face a range of punishments. "They could actually expel her from Parliament - unlikely to do that - they could suspend her for a period of time, they could fine her, they could censure her and require her to come back into Parliament with a very fulsome apology." In October of 2018, dismembered remains of a male body started turning up along the highway in Ohio. At the same time, a 39-year-old father from Michigan was reported missing by his family. When the disappearance and the scattered remains were found to be linked, his family had only one potential suspect in mind. But when police were forced to release them due to a lack of evidence, they fled the area, and haven't been seen since. This is the murder of David Carter. The world's most famous mentor and the founder and chairman of Entelechy Academy, focusing on developing individual character qualities as a means to boosting business performance and quality of life. David, welcome to the show. Hello, and thank you very much for inviting me to join you. I'm very intrigued by your topic. We had a quick chat last week about it already, and we're going to dive into the frameworks that you have developed for mentoring people and coaching people up. However, before we go there, let's talk about your entrepreneurial journey. How did you evolve to starting a leading CEO mentoring organization and to eventually founding Entelechy Academy? Well, gosh, I'm 64 years old and I left school when I was 17 and started my first business when I was 11. So I'm not sure if we've got time for my entire entrepreneurial journey, but I guess in summary, the first 10 years of my career, I was in investment banking and venture capital. I had the pleasure of working and living in seven different countries for more than a year, and that gave me the ability to understand business models in different cultures around the world and from very early on I had a fascination how come those two businesses started in the same town in the same year with the same idea and access to the same resources but ten years later one was 27 times bigger than the other one what did they do or have that was different to the other company and that has been a fascination all my life and I essentially distilled it down. To what I call performance X factor which partly had to do with their character and anyway after 10 years of doing that I had a tectonic plate shift in my life and I ended up being a single parent of two young children and I decided I should stop consulting and financing entrepreneurs and go and be one. And so the first 10 years I did two startups in the UK hospitality industry. The first one I built up and sold to a trade buyer, the second one I built up and floated on the stock exchange. And then after that I wasn't sure what to do next and people kept coming up to me and saying, “Oh, could you give us some advice on expanding overseas?” Or raising money or going public or changing our strategy or whatever it was. And so I started to collect CEOs as mentoring clients, not that I even called it that in those days. And after two years, my mum and dad invited me over for Sunday lunch and my mum said, “Oh, it's going so well for you Isn't it I said that it's going well, but I got no time to think about what I'm doing next.” And my mom said “Oh, I thought this was what you were doing next” and so I On the car driving home the kids were fast asleep in the back of the car I thought you know “I'm actually really good at this. I love doing it It pays the bills and it's making a difference,” and maybe this is what I carried on doing for the next 15 years. I eventually built up the world's leading chief executive mentoring company with officers and mentors and clients around the world. And then about 10 years ago, I decided I wanted to democratize what we were doing with a small number of expensive fee-paying CEOs and make it available to the whole organization. And that was perhaps a pivot too far in our strategy for my colleagues in the mentoring company and so I sold my shares to the management team and decided to have a go at doing it some way myself. And I didn't know how I was turned into a brand, the mentor, I wrote a book, I did speaking tours, book tours, I did three years of television with the BBC and lots of ...

Dental aligners have become more and more popular in the last decade. Many work much faster than braces and offer the exact same results. However, believe it or not, not all aligners are made equal. Hiring smart means going beyond candidates' qualifications and assessing if their character and values align with your company culture. While technical skills are essential, character codes contribute to a positive work environment and can significantly impact your business culture, team dynamics, and productivity. As a business owner, hiring smart is also about hiring smart people who can tell you how to get where you want to be as an organization. Don't become the bottleneck to your business by making all the decisions and telling people what to do all the time. Instead, empower your team and help it develop a character code that aligns with your vision and culture. Character sets the foundation for building a strong and cohesive workforce that can drive long-term success for your organization. In this episode, we are joined by David Carter, the world's leading CEO mentor, chairman, and founder of Entelechy Academy in the UK, to share insights on hiring smart, fostering inclusion, and avoiding common business bottlenecks. You wouldn't be much of a sports fan if you didn't have a bucket list of events you want to see in person before you, well, kick the bucket, as it were. While plenty of people talk about such a list, few of us write it down, and even fewer of us set out to actually accomplish it. And that makes David Carter unique. Carter is a national authority on sports business and strategic marketing, and the author of four books about the sport business industry. He founded the Sports Business Group in 1999 following more than 10 years of consulting for the sports and entertainment industries, and he's an adjunct professor of management and organization at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business with an emphasis on sports. But perhaps of even greater interest, Carter has set out with his best friend to tackle their own bucket list of sports events — 25 events before they turn 75 years old. Carter is serious about the endeavor as well. He's put his list to a spreadsheet, with ground rules about what events he'd like to see and where. No country can be visited twice. No sport should be watched twice. These are just some of the ground rules. But the effort also comes with considerable planning and more than a few lessons about why you should put some thought into planning your own list should you try to tackle it. In this conversation, SportsTravel Executive Editor and Publisher Jason Gewirtz talks with Carter about what he's learned some nine events into his own list of 25 events and what observations he has about today's hottest issues and trends in sports events.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode 121 David CarterIn the Fall of 2018, 39 Year-Old David Carter of Melvindale, Michigan was a busy man. He worked a full time job, and had his own clothing line; Lavish Habits Unlimited. He even found time to coach youth football. He also had been in a relationship for 6 months with Tamera 'Tammy' Williams. But David, as busy as he was, was never too busy for his family who he was close with, especially his son DJ. He looked forward to DJ's visits, which is why it was surprising to DJ and DJ's mom Sonia when they both got texts from David saying he was sick and was canceling plans. DJ decided to go over to his father's apartment to get his phone charger, and that's when DJ had an odd encounter with his dad's girlfriend, Tammy. DJ saw Tammy outside of his dad's apartment and when she saw DJ coming, she ran inside and locked the door. DJ used his own key to let himself inside, and Tammy told DJ that his dad, despite being sick, had gone for a walk. DJ felt something was off and noticed that doors inside the apartment that usually were kept open were shut. DJ left the apartment but he had a bad feeling. On October 2, 2018 after a friend called David's family to voice concerns that he had not been to work in a couple days, David's sister Tasia and her husband went to his apartment and found it unlocked but there was no sign of David. Alarmed, Tasia called her and David's father Elton and DJ's mom Sonia to come over to help look for David. They were alarmed that the apartment wasn't tidy as it usually was. They called Tammy to ask if she had seen David, and she said she hadn't and she didn't seem too concerned that David was missing,David's family reported him missing to police, and when police and David's family searched the apartment closely, they found troubling signs that something bad had happened; including blood, and a bullet hole. The previous day, Department of Transportation workers found human remains, specifically a “lower torso and legs” inside of a sleeping bag in Eagle Township, Ohio over 100 miles away from David's apartment There was a pit bull tattoo on the left leg. That tattoo aided in identification of the partial remains as belonging to David Carter. The news was devastating for David's family. David's girlfriend was brought in by police and detained for 3 days before being released due to a lack of evidence. On October 10th, David's head was found in a black duffel bag and on October 16th, his hands and the rest of his torso were found wrapped inside a comforter inside a small suitcase. Both discoveries were made in Ohio along I-75. This allowed investigators to see that his killer had shot him once in the head, just below his left ear. There were no defensive wounds at all, leading investigators to believe that he had been shot while he was asleep.Having all of David's remains now, and knowing he was the victim of a homicide, police went back to arrest Tammy as the suspect in his murder. But there was a big problem. Tammy had fled, and today, her whereabouts are unkown. Authorities followed her trail to Chicago, and then New York where her the trail went cold. David's family is devastated by his murder and it's been made worse due to the prime suspect in his case fleeing, In this episode, David's sister Tasia discusses David's tragic murder, and how it's affected their family. David's case was featured on Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries in the Fall of 2022, but despite the publicity, Tammy remains on the run. There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Tamera Renee Williams' arrest. Tammy is an adult black female, 5 foot 5, around 180 - 200 pounds at the time she was last seen. She has a large tattoo of roses from her elbow to her shoulder on her left arm.call the US Marshals Tip Line at 313-234-5600 or you can submit a tip online at usmarshals.gov/tipsTo support this podcast with a donation, you can do so via Patreon at:https://www.patreon.com/TheMurderInMyFamilyor through Paypal at:https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/AbJackEntertainmentTo contact the podcast or learn more about the case we discuss, please visit:TheMurderInMyFamily.comFollow us on social media;Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/pg/The-Murder-in-My-Family-True-Crime-Podcast-998674943627334/reviews/Twitter-@MurderinMyFam

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, lawlessness has now enshrined congress, the state bar associations, and Clarence and Ginni Thomas. We begin with a federal judge named David Carter who claims that it's quite likely that former President Trump committed federal offenses on January 6th, 2021, and attempted to obstruct the counting of the electoral vote. If true, this is not a crime. This judge has not received any information from a grand jury and should have never made this non-factual outrageous statement. All citizens, president and otherwise, have a right to challenge the counting of electoral votes. Americans need to stand up to tyranny on the court and everywhere else. Then, the media operates in a pack mentality like a gang as they exploit in favor of radical leftwing activism. Their attack remains on conservative activist Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Despite having any evidence of conflicts, the left is echoing calls for Justice Thomas to recuse himself from any cases related to the 2020 election or the Capitol riot. Later, once upon a time, the Hollywood awards shows were a class act, but what Will Smith did was trashy. Chris Rock remarkably held his own and responded like a gentleman.
