Evereve's co-founder and co-CEO, Megan Tamte, joins me to discuss making new, very close friends later in life. And by later, we mean any time in adult life. We talked about how to reach out to potential friends, how to hear "no," how to say "no," reaching out to old friends, and real friends vs. deal friends. Megan also gave me some emergency fashion advice at the end.I recently saw a story on the Today Show about two women who traveled around the world together. They promised they would do this for their 80th birthdays. While I was interested in the framing of this story as two best friends making this commitment and keeping it, it was the line that said they'd been friends for 20 years that really got me excited. They met when they were 60! It is never too late to make new, close friends, but we need to be in the right frame of mind and right time of life to let those friendships soar. Megan and I discussed this new frame of mind and time of life. And Megan also stepped in with some much-needed fashion advice for me! Meet Megan TamteMegan Tamte is a visionary entrepreneur. Twenty-some years ago, a dressing room disaster inspired her to reimagine the women's shopping experience, and today, she's the co-founder, co-CEO , and Chief Brand Officer of EVEREVE, a contemporary fashion retailer with over one million customers, 100+ stores in 30+ states, a booming e-commerce business and a fast-growing subscription box service, Trendsend. When she's not leading EVEREVE with her co-CEO and husband, Mike, Megan is sharing her retail knowledge and expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs, and proudly serving four other organizations, as Board member of the Chicago-based Common Ground Foundation, a board member of Warners' Stellian & Jaxen Grey fellow Minnesota-based retailesr, and the Global Leadership Network. A brewery is coming to downtown Austell later this year, the developer of a mixed-use project announced. Frog Rock Brewing Company has signed a lease in the new development, dubbed Cincinnati Junction, and will open in late spring or early summer, according to Andrew Lundstrom, the project's developer. The brewery's interior will draw inspiration from the city's history — Austell was once known as Salt Springs, due to springs with supposedly medicinal qualities that were popular in the 19th century. Frog Rock also plans to have an outdoor beer garden with seating, fire pits and string lights, a bocce ball court and a music stage. Frog Rock will be the city's first microbrewery, per the developer. The brewery will join Austell CoWork, already open at the development. Two other businesses — a photo studio and a clothing boutique — have also signed leases, according to the developer. Terrell Burden scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half to lead Kennesaw State to a 74-71 come-from-behind victory over Jacksonville State on Saturday at the KSU Convocation Center. The win marked the first time in the Owls' Division I history in which they have won 20 games. It also sets up a first-place showdown with Liberty in Kennesaw on Thursday, which could end up deciding the ASUN Conference's regular-season title in the ASUN. The winner of the regular-season title is guaranteed at least a spot in the National Invitation Tournament. The Liberty game should bring one of the largest crowds in program history.. In addition to the game's significance, the athletic department is calling for a "gold rush," with the first 1,000 fans receiving a gold Kennesaw State T-shirt. A few weeks after Barnes & Noble announced its plans for a new store in the Avenue East Cobb, a developer said four new businesses will join the bookseller. Atlanta-based North American Properties announced women's fashion retailer Evereve, skin care studio Faced the Facial Studio, southern-style pizza joint Peach State Pizza and Belgian waffle purveyor Press Waffle Co. will be coming to the open-air mall. NAP said the move is part of its “ongoing efforts to redefine Avenue East Cobb as a hometown. The Evereve at the mall will be the store's third location in Georgia, with a grand opening scheduled for later this year, per NAP. Faced the Facial's 2,100-square-foot studio, designed by Square Feet Studio, will be located next to Warby Parker, and Peach State Pizza will boast a 3,560-square-foot restaurant with a front porch swing and vintage Georgia décor. Construction on Peach State Pizza is set to begin in the spring, with NAP aiming for a grand opening in the late summer. Finally, east Cobb locals and husband-wife duo Keith and Niki Ginel will be the franchise owners of the Avenue East Cobb's location of Press Waffle Co., which was founded in 2016 and later took off after an appearance on the hit ABC show “Shark Tank.” Press Waffle Co. will occupy 1,200 square feet of the forthcoming jewel box near Sephora, NAP said. Kennesaw Mountain used a five-run fifth inning to take control of the game and spoil the unveiling of Marietta's improved Jackie Smallwood Field with a 7-2 victory Friday. The Mustangs did not allow an earned run, and the pitching combination of left-hander Pete Jerzerinac and right-hander John Locurto combined to strike out 13 batters. Jerzerinac pitched the first four innings, allowing two hits and struck out nine to earn the win. Locurto pitched the final three innings, allowing one hit, and earned the save. Pete used an upper-80s fastball to keep the Blue Devils hitters off balance and then John, a sidearm submarine pitcher, used a variety of pitches and arm angles to finish them off. Marietta had an early 2-0 lead, but it was short lived, as the Mustangs used a big fifth inning to get the win. Over 80 friends and family members gathered at Kennesaw State University on Saturday morning to celebrate the life of Dr. Betty Siegel on the third anniversary of her death. “She was so into life. Into living life. And living it to the fullest. And wanted everybody else to have a taste of it,” university president Dr. Kathy Schwaig said at the beginning of the ceremony, which took place in the campus recreation center that bears Siegel's name. Schwaig described Siegel as a “Waffle House-loving, red glasses-wearing, daughter of a coal miner from Kentucky who loved learning and who set out into the world to use that love of learning to make a difference in the lives of others and to inspire a life of service in others.” Siegel became the University System of Georgia's first female president in 1981, serving as president of what was then Kennesaw College — it became a university in 1996 — for 25 years, making her the longest serving female president of a state university in the United States. From 3,500 students at the beginning of her tenure to a current enrollment of over 43,000 students, the university continues to grow and thrive, Schwaig stated. Siegel wanted students to have a community, not just a place to go to have an in-class experience, Schwaig said. Siegel added sports and residential facilities so students could have a “total experience,” a “life-changing experience,” Schwaig said. Austell is set to get a major residential development west of its downtown. Atlanta-based JMC Development requested the rezoning of 28 acres for 73 single-family homes off C.H. James Parkway across from the Norfolk Southern Whitaker Intermodal Terminal. The Austell City Council approved the request 5-1 at its meeting this week, with Councilman Marlin Lamar the lone vote in opposition. The application also included a request to annex the land from unincorporated Cobb County into the city. According to the application, the county did not object to the annexation request. Darrell Weaver, Austell's community affairs director, said the land was annexed into the city last April. The City Council also gave the green light to an initial proposal from city staff for a park on Jefferson Street in downtown Austell. There is no timetable on when construction on the park would begin, as it is still in the early planning stages. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“I felt like there must be other women like me, who were looking for contemporary fashion in a very curated setting,” says Megan Tamte, Founder and Co-CEO of EVEREVE. After a particularly negative experience in the dressing room of a clothing store, Megan began imagining a store where busy moms and their kids would be warmly welcomed and cared for while shopping for modern and versatile fashion. Seven years later, she realized the importance of following her dream, and sat down to write it into reality. This episode is full of takeaways, including: Why you should prioritize serving over selling to your community. The importance of checking in with your evolving customer base as well as being mindful of the future. The impact of hiring people who share your vision. Why fashion isn't frivolous but an act of self-care that can make you a better mom. Knowing your numbers and the importance figuring out why if you're not hitting them. In an era when retail is disappearing, Megan still strongly believes in the power of retail and EVEREVE remains a store-first business. People still love to touch, feel, and talk about the things they're buying. Eighteen years after opening its first location, EVEREVE has 100+ stores and takes in 300+ million in revenue. Come on in and meet Megan! Quotes • "The way I hit my numbers was never through selling, it was always through serving, and being really focused on the customer, using what we do well, and guiding her to what we think she's going to want, because she walked in the store, which is fashion, clothing, an outfit. Using it to serve her and not to sell to her." (31:45-32:09 | Megan) • “As a leader, I'm a hands-on relational CEO, I am our customer. I love being with our customers, I love talking to our customers, I love talking to our managers, I love relationships, I try on our clothes because we care so much about getting the product right.” (35:29-36:20 | Megan) • “I think the modern mom cares about her fashion. And she knows that taking care of your fashion isn't frivolous, it's actually part of wellness, it's part of taking care of herself.” (37:30-38:12 | Megan) Connect with Megan Tamte, Founder: Instagram EVEREVE | http://www.instagram.com/evereveofficial Instagram Megan | http://www.instagram.com/megantamte Website | http://www.evereve.com Please don't forget to rate, comment, and subscribe to Dear FoundHer on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts! Never in modern history has office space been more disrupted than during the Covid-19 pandemic. And as CEOs contemplate how to bring workers back—whether they’ll bring workers back—architect and commercial designer Betsy Vohs is helping businesses reconsider the purpose of the office. “When else do you get a chance like this, to rethink the office?” Vohs is the founder and CEO of Studio BV in Minneapolis, a boutique design firm that works across industries, from medical clinics to apartment buildings to the headquarters for companies such as Digi International, nVent, and Evereve. Studio BV’s pro bono arm, Design Forward, works on projects for non-profit clients. “Good design creates something powerful,” Vohs says. “Space can tell your story.” How does that story change as a result of Covid-19? “Now we know why office space matters,” Vohs says. “We can do a fine job on Zoom, but we can’t innovate, we can’t create culture.” Not one Studio BV client plans a full-time return to the office. Vohs expects more independent work to happen at home, even when it’s safe to come back, so that means fewer cubicles and dedicated workstations while upping the emphasis on what she calls “innovation space.” Take note: Vohs shares some of her favorite design tips and resources. After our conversation with Vohs we go back to the classroom with the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. Associate Professor of Management Erica Diehn studies meaningful work, and in the wake of Covid, that includes thinking about where we find meaning, and the important role place plays in creating high quality connections. “Our best work—curiosity, new ideas—that kind of creation doesn’t happen in solitude or when we’re powering through tasks. We need idle space in our brains.” Commuting to the office used to provide that time, and part of the reason working from home is proving stressful to many is that “every second of time is taken up by a present need.” “Stepping into the office can be a relief,” Diehn says, echoing Vohs’ sentiments on the way companies are going to rethink the office. “How do we create environments that reward the fact that I get to go to the office today. How do we make spaces that inspire more of that?”
Megan talks with fellow women entrepreneurs, Pattie and Kristin, about how their friendship launched them into the business of their dreams: Think Royln. The best friends took their more than 20 years of experience in fashion in New York and came up with fashion-forward tote bags that fit the lifestyle of our Evereve customers perfectly...which is why we welcomed this fabulous brand into our stores!
Come for the scoop on what we are wearing, watching and a little dive into donuts but stay for your first look at our passion for Kwik Trip. It's actually quite intense. We also get started with Jen Sincero's new book, Badass Habit. Spoiler alert! We will have continuous coverage on this topic for the foreseeable future.
Megan has a long-distance chat with Lara Mead, the Co-Founder & Co-CEO of the London-based active and lifestyle brand, Varley. A new hit for Evereve, Varley is loved by stylists and customers for it's comfort and quality, which is EXACTLY what many women want and need right now. Join Megan and Lara in this peek behind the brand we are LOVING!

God is the gift giver. God is our gift giver. And all too often we are like hesitant, nervous children, questioning the gifts under the tree. We leave them lying idle, gathering dust. Our Creator, our heavenly Father, the ultimate parent, has lav¬ished on us a generous wide range of incredible gifts, talents, skills, and abilities. I was in my midtwenties when I met Gwen. My college days were over, and it was a matter of working, investing in my calling, and building my adult life. I started working at my local church, and for the first year, I felt like a fraud on a daily basis. My favorite band, the Brand New Heavies, had an album track with a line that went, “Why you such a FAKE!” and I heard it in my head most days. Liz is the founder of the socially conscious fashion brand, Sseko Designs, and the author of the book Beginner's Pluck. In this episode, Liz shares some of the mindsets she believes hold us back from living a life of purpose, passion and impact. Find out why Liz has banned the word “luck” in her company, and why she believes we should “own our average” instead trying so hard to be extraordinary. Liz encourages us to “dream small” and take little steps. Liz is a wise, fun and passionate woman and leader I believe in.
What does it mean for a store to deliver HEART? Today, I sit down with EVEREVE Chief of Stores Melanie Koup, who shares her thoughts on what makes the EVEREVE in-store experience unlike any other. In this episode, Mel explains how EVEREVE’s fashion drew her to our brand as a customer—and how the warmth, fun, and authenticity of our store teams made her want to be part of our company. Mel explains why connection is a key ingredient to the EVEREVE customer experience, and shares her thoughts on what makes EVEREVE’s culture so unique: “vulnerability is not only celebrated, but expected.”

The Evereve Journey started in a women's dressing room in a San Fransico clothing store. A young mom by the name Megan Tamte felt overwhelmed and alone! This is not how a young mother should feel about her shopping experience. Megan knew that the clothing options for young moms were extremely limited and the experience was miserable for a mom toting around her children. She knew that this needed to change. She shared her vision with Mike Tamte. After much discussion, they decided to go for it. Mike tells how playing sports impacted his leadership and how he and Megan went from an idea to 90 stores. This is how he got here. Photo Credit-Glenn Stubb --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/linklete/support
Put on you party pants, because today we're celebrating EVEREVE’s 15th birthday! To mark this momentous occasion, I've invited EVEREVE founding leaders Kimberly (VP of Stores) & Kristina (VP of Merchandising) to join me IN THE DRESSING ROOM. Together, we talk about what makes the EVEREVE brand special, reflect on 15 years of growth and dish on how we think women and fashion have changed throughout the years. Join us as we laugh, cry and raise a glass to the next 15 years!
I feel like the luckiest mom in the world to be IN THE DRESSING ROOM with my daughter, Allison. Allison has been an important part of the EVEREVE story from the very beginning. She was the two month old baby who cried in the dressing room on that horrible shopping day—which inspired the EVEREVE brand 22 years ago. Now she's all grown up, leaving the nest and ready to live life on her own. In this sweet episode, we talk about what it was like for her to watch me evolve from being a stay-at-home mom to an entrepreneur right before her very eyes, what I did right, and what I need to work on. My favorite part of this episode is talking about what fires her up and stirs her soul: creating budgets (she’s just like her dad) and serving others in need. We had so much fun answering our audience's questions about our relationship. Even though I’m her mama, Allison teaches me so much, and know you’re going to love learning from her too!
My friend Shauna Niequist is IN THE DRESSING ROOM with me today! Shauna is the author of five books—including one of my all-time favorites, NYT best seller Present Over Perfect. In this episode, we share the story of how we became friends (it was kind of awkward at first). We also talk about Shauna’s recent move to New York City, and what it’s like to become a beginner again. Shauna’s relationship with fashion has evolved over the years so it was fun to catch up with her on what she is learning about herself in terms of fashion. Shauna is one of the wisest and most authentic women I know and I am so excited to share our conversation with you!
I’m so excited that my friend, mentor and EVEREVE board member Gordon Segal is in the dressing room. Gordon is the co-founder and former CEO of one of my all-time favorite brands—Crate & Barrel. In this episode, you will hear Gordon’s story about building Crate & Barrel, and find out why he decided to invest in EVEREVE. Gordon and I talk business, leadership, retail and design. We also talk about how passion is a key ingredient to becoming a successful leader and entrepreneur. Gordon is full of wisdom, and I know you’re going to enjoy learning from him as much as I do.
Kelsey Terry is the founder of Spectrum QA—a digital testing company that employs individuals on the Autism spectrum to find bugs, threats and improvements to companies' digital products. Kelsey was a tech consultant at EVEREVE for a year and a half. The story of her company and time consulting at EVEREVE inspired me, touched me deeply and is one of my favorite HEART stories of the year! During our conversation, we discuss our own vulnerabilities (Kelsey’s is fashion, mine is tech), how EVEREVE HEART values helped rewrite her fashion story, and the importance of fully embracing who we are—glitches and all—to experience the joy of work! Kelsey talks about the journey of embracing her autism, and how she is leveraging what some might perceive as a “glitch” to build a company that taps into the giftedness and greatness of people on the spectrum.
I’m so excited to introduce you to a very important member of the EVEREVE family, Karrie Helm. Karrie’s eight years of leadership in our stores, both as a manager and regional director, has added incredible value to the promise of the EVEREVE brand: to deliver joy in the dressing room! I wanted to sit down and learn from Karrie because she’s a woman filled with so much joy, yet I know her personal and professional journey has not always been easy. Karrie reminds me that joy is a choice and with the right mindset and attitude, everyone can find it.
#1 - Interview with the inspiring couple behind the successful nationwide clothing store, Evereve, on growing an idea, working together, the road to success, creativity and more.
Entrepreneur and EVEREVE co-founder + co-CEO Megan Tamte has spent fifteen years building what is one of the fastest-growing women’s fashion brands in America today. Peek behind the curtain as she sits down with EVEREVE friends and family for stripped-down conversations on business, leadership and fashion.
In today’s episode, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from EVEREVE’s Chief Merchandising Officer, Kristen MacVey. We talk about the importance of being a leader who casts a clear and compelling vision while establishing guardrails. Of course, we also talk fall fashion—you are going to love getting the inside scoop on the exciting new product arriving in our stores this fall. Kristen is warm, smart and fashionable, and I know you’re going to enjoy learning from her as much as I do.
Today I talk with Megan Tamte who is the founder and Co-CEO of Evereve, a fashion brand she created because of a disastrous trip to the mall soon after having her baby. So she created a place for mothers to feel beautiful and special. Evereve’s tag line is “with heart,” we talk about how loving others is the most important part of their business. They hire people who love fashion but who love people more! We take leadership lessons and the “tiny behaviors” they teach their employees, and how we can train this behavior in our own life and pass it on to our children. These are ways we can see people the way they need to be seen. Simple behaviors like remembering a name or looking someone in the eyes and being genuinely concerned for others. She talks about teaching her kids about empathy, how they can think beyond themselves and see others as masterpieces. She has some amazing nuggets for parents about showing her kids that they are loved no matter what they do, or what they achieve. Instead of celebrating the accomplishments of her kids, she just celebrates who they are. Full show notes here: https://www.bestrongstory.com/be-love-podcast

Best to the Nest is our podcast all about creating happy, healthy, beautiful homes that prepare us to fly. We have such a wonderful guest this week. Megan Tamte wanted to change the experience of clothes shopping for women and now owns a 150-million dollar company called Evereve. She shares her wisdom on how to build a company, nurture a family, and grow spiritually all at the same time. Evereve
Megan Tamte was a new mom who wanted help putting together fashionable outfits. A bad experience at a northern California boutique sparked the idea for Evereve, which is now a national women's specialty retail chain with 85 stores, a fast-growing e-commerce business and a subscription service called Trendsend. “I left the store crying," Tamte recalls of that fateful shopping experience more than 20 years ago. "I remember thinking, someone should create a retail concept that helped women like me who wanted help finding items that would fit their body type. I wanted clothing that was modern and versatile…and I wanted connection.” Five years later, in 2004, Megan and her husband Mike opened their first store in Edina, Minn., called Hot Mama. Their unique proposition: trendy fashion, warm service and a kid-friendly environment with toys in the fitting rooms so moms could take a moment for themselves. That boutique grew into Evereve, which now generates $120 million in annual revenue. In a wide-ranging conversation, the Tamtes explain how a detailed business plan set them up for success. They reveal why they changed their company name right as the brand was taking off. They talk about balancing parenthood and running a business together, about leading a brand that has grown far beyond their dreams, and about the future of retail. After the conversation with the Tamtes, we go Back to the Classroom with University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business digital marketing professor Gino Giovannelli, who shares tips on using social media to your brand’s advantage, as Evereve has done. And, from his own personal experience, Giovannelli highlights pros and cons of going into business with a spouse.

More with Moore is Action Catalyst host Dan Moore's reflections and commentary on discussions with each of his esteemed and accomplished guests. In this segment, Dan dissects Episode 254, with Kimberly Ritzer, Founding Leader at EVEREVE.
In November of 2004, Kimberly Ritzer walked into a little boutique during its opening week with one intention: congratulating the stranger behind the counter for being courageous enough to open her own business. What ensued was a lesson in celebrating each other's differences and strengths. The stranger behind the counter was Megan Tamte, a third-grade teacher turned stay at home mom, turned aspiring entrepreneur. Kimberly had been a Senior Designer of Owned Brand Product at Dayton's, Hudson's and Marshall Field's before she retired to be a stay at home mom. In that small boutique, Megan and Kimberly bonded while creating a beautiful in-store experience that made women feel amazing. Three months later, along with the support of her husband Tim, Kimberly became business partners with Megan and Mike Tamte. Thus, starting Kimberly on a whole new, uncharted path as a partner in a small business… all while navigating life as the mom of a newborn and a 3-year-old. Together, with a whole bunch of awesome people, they have now opened 85 more stores across the country and built a business that is currently 100M. The retail stores are called EVEREVE and they are known for providing an amazing fashion and styling experience for women. They have also developed a thriving e-commerce business at Evereve.com and a subscription box service called Trendsend. Kimberly Ritzer holds a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from North Dakota State University. Kimberly and Tim are the proud parents of two children: their daughter, Peyton (16) and their son, Roan (13). Show Highlights: There is an art and a science to the scaling of a business. -Kimberly RitzerThis was pivotal for us: we wrote down the behaviors that we organically practiced daily. -Kimberly RitzerOur behaviors were tied to a set of values, and they weren't just work values. They were values that we live out in our life–not our work life, but our life. -Kimberly RitzerWhen your heart is in the right place, everything falls into place and you can live your most authentic life. -Kimberly RitzerYou don't have to worry about competition when your people have the right values, when they're practicing the right behavior, and when it's based on life, not just sales. -Dan MooreYour team has to come with you to create change. -Kimberly RitzerThere's no one person who's going to pick you up and dust you off. You need to learn how to pick yourself up and fill your own bucket because no one else is going to do it for you. -Kimberly RitzerWhen in a rut, there are five points to go back to:1. Pray and spend time alone.2. Assemble a strong group of friends that will tell you the truth and love you no matter what.3. Develop a strong relationship with your spouse.4. Write down the top 5 things you've accomplished.5. Be an advocate for yourself. Kimberly's closing thoughts: What helps me deal with Mr. Mediocrity is the idea of committing to being a better version of myself than I was yesterday. It's turning me into someone I'm excited about becoming and I don't get so worried about what title I'm trying to have or if I'm hitting that specific goal. I'm much more worried about myself and what I can control. One of my favorite things about business is marketing, and I’m so excited because this week we’re diving into a marketing concept known as the unique selling proposition. What is a Unique Selling Proposition? It is one feature or benefit you want to highlight about your product or service. This concept dates back to the 1940s and was used to get people to switch from one brand to another. For examples of this, just Google “1940s soap advertisements,” and you’ll see some brands touting “lovelier skin” and others promising to “stop BO!” Don’t most soaps do both? Yes, but each brand chose to highlight a different feature of its soap. I’ve taught y’all about this before in many places, including my Business Boutique book, where I call it your unique position. It’s the angle you want to take in all of your marketing that lets your customers know why they need to buy from you. In Reality in Advertising, author Rosser Reeves explains the purpose of your unique selling proposition so well. He says, “Each advertisement must say to each reader: ‘Buy this product, for this specific benefit.’” He also says, “The proposition must be strong enough to move the masses.” Related: Ep. 52—Market Research: How to Know What Your Customers Want So focus on just one feature or benefit of your product—something you want to be known for that is strong enough to move the masses—and highlight that in all your marketing, even if that thing seems obvious. In fact, in this episode, I’ll tell you how my college professor taught our class how to sell a toaster by highlighting a feature as basic as its electric cord. But here’s another example. FedEx has an advertising campaign right now that grabs my attention every time I see the commercial. In the ad, you see a woman standing in her art studio waiting on a delivery. In another scene, a package is hand-delivered to an elderly man sitting in a nursing home cafeteria. Then there’s a little boy peering with wonder at a FedEx box in his living room. A voice-over asks, “What’s inside?” Then you see the artist, the senior and the little boy light up as they open their boxes—and the answer comes: “Possibilities.” Here FedEx reminds us that receiving a package in the mail is exciting! And if they’ve done their job right, maybe they’ve even convinced you that when you send or receive a parcel via FedEx, anything is possible. Doesn’t UPS offer a very similar service? Yep. If you use UPS for your shipping and handling, can you send and receive the same things and have it done in the same amount of time? Probably. But FedEx hooked me with their commercial because they chose to highlight the excitement that comes with anticipating a package. What result can you highlight about your business that will make your potential customers feel something? In this episode, I’ll challenge you to answer these questions about your business: What makes your product unique? What makes your services unique? Why should someone buy from you instead of your competition? If you don’t know the answers to these questions, you’re missing out on sales. You’re missing sales because if you don’t answer these questions in your marketing, your customers sure won’t know the answers, either! Claiming Your Unique Value Proposition Now, your unique selling proposition doesn’t have to be something unique to only you—in fact, it probably won’t be. My guest this week understands that and has marketed her business brilliantly. Megan Tamte is the co-founder and co-CEO of Evereve, a retail fashion and styling company and one of my favorite stores. Evereve’s tagline is “Dress like a mom.” Just think about that for a minute. How many stores and boutiques and online clothing companies sell clothes for women? How many sell for moms, specifically? There are probably thousands or even millions, right? But Megan chose to claim it. Her marketing lets people know that her store is the store that dresses moms. And as a result, Megan has grown Evereve into a multimillion-dollar business! In this episode, Megan and I talk about: How she came to the idea of claiming her unique position in her market How you can find an angle for your business and use it to your advantage How you can pursue the dream of being a good, Christian mom and a working woman How you can break free from the labels and limitations women put on themselves Megan addresses the tension so many of us feel between being present for our kids but also pursuing a business dream. I love her perspective on this: “One of the best gifts I could give my children was not being a mom who’s lying on the couch at night watching other peoples’ dreams come true but being a mom who was alive and passionate and happy.” Amen, sister! Answering Your Business Questions Like, “How Much Should I Pay Myself?” Y’all know one of my favorite parts of this podcast is hearing directly from you. So this week, I’m answering your business questions about money and social media. Don’t forget to give me a call on my new toll-free line at 844.944.1074. You might hear your question on a future episode! Starting Your Day with Gratitude I also challenge you to start every day with gratitude and to focus on your blessings. Your thoughts will direct your actions, and your actions will direct your results. Whatever you focus on increases, so focus on the positive—and expect the best for your life and your business. 1:21 How to Stand Out from Your Competition 22:00 Pursuing Your Dream and Building Your Brand with Megan Tamte 46:21 #AskChristyWright 58:36 Challenge: Start Every Day with Gratitude Get Christy's SWOT Analysis by filling out the form here! Combining Evereve, which provides a unique shopping experience for moms who want to feel good about themselves, with a book about moms raising confident and capable daughters felt like the perfect fit. Facing busyness, some days apathy, and even a mom’s changed body can create dread while shopping for yourself. Can someone say, “Amen!"? You'll get to know these ladies as they offer practical advice on finding your style while also sharing about what makes Evereve special. Today on the Becoming Fearless podcast, meet Megan Tamte, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Evereve, a women’s fashion and styling brand. Founded in Minneapolis, Evereve now has 85 stores across the country, a website, and a subscription box styling service called Trendsend. After having her daughter, Megan wanted to stay relevant and modern, but struggled to find a fashion brand that understood her life as a mom. After one particularly horrible shopping experience in 1997, Megan had an idea to start a fashion brand that would help moms feel beautiful and powerful, and make fashion easy and accessible. The idea grew, and in 2004, Evereve opened its first store. Join Annie and Megan as they talk nurturing dreams, listening to yourself, finding joy in your customers, creating successful behaviors, and being willing to evolve.
