In cases where the person has ADA accommodations, the judge can/will decide they are incompetent and without an evidentiary hearing and violate the person's rights. This is a FIRST AMENDMENT CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT VIOLATION.     Joan has seen parents so traumatized and their PTSD, stress and anxiety being off the charts because it's their case and being treated horribly in the courts, being attacked from every direction and being yelled at. Most of these cases do not belong in a courtroom. There should be a mediation process.     The courts make an ADA Advocate register who they are in support of that individual. This is a private thing. ADA records are supposed to be sealed with the courts as well as the ADVOCATE. When a parent claims they cannot get a child to visit or go to therapy with the other parent." Joan explained the issues of Family Court and how the child is "parentified" and "adultified." How can a child make an adult decision when their brains aren't fully developed? A good parent would have a more respectful child that listens to them and respects parents wishes, such as doing their chores. When a parent can't control their child they are making their own problems and don't have to listen to authority and then parent themselves. Authority must be reversed so the child doesn't have the authority. Parents in custodial fights claim they can't  get their child to  go to therapy/visitation -- "if you can't get your child to do these things clearly the parent is having issues in having authority and are parentifying the child. The child will then have no respect for figures of authority," Joan states. As brasileiras superaram as norte-americanas Nuss e Kloth. No Mundial, a dupla joga no grupo A, contra França, Finlândia e Chile.

Her first book, "Where Did I Go Wrong? How Did I Miss The Signs? Dealing with Hostile Parenting and Parental Alienation," is now in its second edition.    We discussed that Custodial Interference is a FELONY. We also discussed a case where a Superior Court judge in CT, that understands shared parenting, where he DENIED a motion to reduce time with the dad because he believed this would PERPETUATE PARENTAL ALIENATION. This has cost the parents hundreds of thousands of dollars in litigation.  On April 3rd, 2023, The Honorable Judge Moukawasher heard a motion by Mother's attorneys to Modify Post Judgment reducing the father's weekend time, giving Mother all decision making authority, unspecified relief including child support and attorney fees. All DENIED. The judge questioned, how these modifications would IMPROVE the Father's RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CHILDREN? This line of questioning is likely  related to the Friendly Parent Factor, that CT judges are supposed to consider in Child Custody matters where each parent is to facilitate and encourage a relationship with the parent as is appropriate. The judge used the term "ALIENATION," to describe the possible outcome if the modifications were granted. If the Father is unfit for 50/50 time then is he unfit for any time with his children? If the Mother succeeded in reducing weekend time and obtained all decision making authority she would receive the RESIDENTIAL PARENTAL DESIGNATION and the Father would play LITTLE to NO ROLE in the children's lives. This is a fascinating case where CPS got involved and ACTUALLY helped the FAMILY. Excellent podcast not to be missed.    To Reach Joan Kloth-Zanard:  pasintervention@gmail.com (or aol.com)                                                                   info@advocate4families.comSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/Support the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/

This book is a culmination of all her research and studies into the world of high conflict divorce. She is also the co-author of "Broken Family Bonds," which is a book of survivor's stories of alienation.    We discussed how Custodial Interference is a Federal and state Felony, a criminal act and every state has different laws regarding this issue.     An example of Coercive Control is when a parent, agency or relative/friend deliberately impedes the relationship between the child and the other parent, this requires a particular set of behavior patterns such as using excessive psychological Coercive Control. Using behavior patterns that terrorize or create a fear or falsely lull a person in a cult like manner to believe that this other parent is no good. This brings in Parental Alienating Behaviors (PAB).     This is a form of COERCIVE CONTROL, but more specific to behaviors that DIRECTLY IMPEDE the relationship with the other parent. Parental Alienating behaviors create a CULT of fear of hate, anger and rage at another person, much like any cult it WARPS A PERSON'S MIND into this false belief about something. All of this boils down to a form of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE but, that we call DOMESTIC VIOLENCE by PROXY, because the OFFENDING parent or person or agency is not physically touching you, they are not directly necessarily  gaslighting you they are  PROJECTING it through the children, another person, agency, the courts now making it BY PROXY. It was awesome to bring back Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss to talk about their transition to professional beach volleyball and what makes their partnership tick so well. I always say you must have enough talent to compete for championships, but how well you attack the non-technical aspects of your sport often determines if you and your team can max out when it matters the most. One of the few positive events to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic was the unlikely partnership of Taryn and Kristen while playing for the Beach Volleyball program at LSU. Even though they went undefeated while paired together during their last season at LSU, winning AVCA Beach Pair of the year, their rapid ascent to the top professional ranks in their first full year on the AVP Tour in 2022 has surprised many people. I have known Taryn since her days at Creighton University, where she played indoor volleyball, and have had the pleasure to watch her grow as a person and in her sport, so nothing surprises me with her—and if you know Kristen, she is the engine that drives home excellence. I love talking about growth through adversity, so it should not surprise you that my favorite part of our conversation was their performance struggles during 2022. But that laid the foundation for their next growth level, leading them to be named the AVP Beach Team of the year in 2022! This episode is brought to you by the Max Out Mindset Video Series for Volleyball:  7 PowerPoint-driven sessions taught by Dr. Widman covering Preparing your Mind for Battle, Max Out your Mind & Max Out your Team.  Downloadable actionable workbook with over 100 questions, discussion points and suggestions for team exercises. Over 45 videos from some of the best athletes, coaches, teams, and leaders in the world, including Olympic gold medal winners Jordan Larson, Jordan Thompson, Kim Hill, and Justine Wong-Orantes  Numerous lessons from some of the best to coach or play in the NFL, NBA, WNBA, and the NCAA to help validate all the Max Out Mindset principles on how to prepare your mind for battle, max out your mind and max out your team!

Deficits in cerebellum-dependent learning and cerebellar morphology in male and female BTBR autism model mice

Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2022.09.14.507695v1?rss=1 Authors: Kiffmeyer, E. A., Cosgrove, J. A., Siganos, J. K., Bien, H. E., Vipond, J. E., Vogt, K. R., Kloth, A. D. Abstract: Recently, there has been increased interest in the role of the cerebellum in autism spectrum disorders (ASD). In order to better understand the pathophysiological role of the cerebellum in ASD, it is necessary to have a variety of mouse models that have face validity for cerebellar disruption in humans. Here, we add to the literature on the cerebellum transgenic and induced mouse models of autism with the characterization of the cerebellum in the BTBR T+Itpr3tf/J (BTBR) inbred mouse strain, which has behavioral phenotypes that are suggestive of ASD in patients. When we examined both male and female adult BTBR mice in comparison to C57BL/6J (C57) controls, we noted that both mice showed motor coordination deficits characteristic of cerebellar function, but only the male mice showed differences in delay eyeblink conditioning, a cerebellum-dependent learning task that is also disrupted in ASD patients. Both male and female BTBR mice showed considerable expansion of and abnormal foliation in the cerebellum vermis--including significant expansion of specific lobules in the anterior cerebellum. In addition, we found a slight but significant decrease in Purkinje cell density in both male and female BTBR mice, irrespective of lobule. Furthermore, there was a marked reduction of Purkinje cell dendritic spines density in both male and female BTBR mice. These findings suggest that, for the most part, the BTBR mouse model successfully phenocopies many of the characteristics of the subpopulation of ASD patients that have a hypertrophic cerebellum. We discuss the significance of sex differences--revealed for the first time in BTBR mice, and present in only a small number of cerebellum studies--and the importance of concordance on other metrics between male and female BTBR mice. This episode of SANDCAST: Beach Volleyball with Tri Bourne and Travis Mewhirter, features the hottest team from 2021 on the AVP Tour, Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth. What a tear they were on in 2021. They finished the NCAA season with LSU undefeated, a considerable accomplishment considering their opponents on court one. Then they won the first AVP they played in as a team, claiming gold in Atlanta, which was succeeded by a fifth-place finish in Manhattan Beach and a third in Chicago. But they're more than just good players, these two: They're a team. A real one. The only pair who stuck together from 2021 and into the 2022 season. Robin Allen: Start by Looking Through Your Closet The pandemic has given us the opportunity to understand ourselves and figure out the crucial changes we must undergo. Most people have started new hobbies and taken on personal challenges that can help them grow. However, you don't have to look too far in making the difference you truly need in your life. You can start by looking through your closet. In this episode, stylist and personal shopper Robin Allen talks about her background in styling and her personal style evolution. She discusses the importance of a closet makeover and how it can change your life for the better. Robin also shares her story about her relationship with her husband and her tips on making a relationship work. If you are looking for tips on improving your personal style, take the first step by listening to this episode! Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode: Discover the importance of a closet makeover. How does finding your personal style build up your confidence? Robin Allen shares advice on making relationships work as an entrepreneur. The experience allowed her to slow down and analyze where she wanted to go. She has always done online shopping and styling. As she already had that option on her website, she didn't have to redesign the whole thing in her plan. Sizing People Up With her ability to “size people up,” she can assess whether an outfit would fit a person or not. It makes her work a lot quicker online. Robin's rule — If a piece of clothing is going to fit you within five pounds, you can keep it. During quarantine, it's not as easy to get rid of stuff because it's not easy to shop. Hence, it's better to keep things within a rational range. The Evolution of Her Personal Style She got into styling as early as high school. Being biracial and different-looking in a conservative community, she wanted to be different and stand out. Every summer, when she visits her dad in San Francisco, she would come back with weird outfits. People embraced her style and race. However, when she got into art school, she wanted to be different by her identity. Her style reflected the identity of all the things she wanted to be. She went from being hippie to preppy and then to grunge. Finding Her Way into the Styling Business After art school, she ended up in LA, where she worked on TV and movie sets. She then landed a gig as a personal stylist for a close friend at Tower Records. Costuming vs. Styling For Robin, doing costumes wasn't as fun and fulfilling as styling. There is a very quick “before and after” in styling, and her vision makes that possible. What Does It Mean to Be a Stylist? There are varying degrees and definitions of what a stylist is. Celebrity styling — This was the original definition of a stylist. The stylist and the celebrity have a mutually beneficial relationship. Personal styling — Celebrities hire an individual for their everyday looks. Editorial styling — You create a look based on the photoshoot's story for a magazine, TV, or online media. Robin defines styling as dressing the person for who they are, including their shape and their lifestyle. Accessibility of Celebrity Styling & Fashion There is more accessibility now, but it doesn't really affect celebrities; it only reflects the brand. Robin's goal is to always dress a person and flatter their body. A lot of classic and throwback looks come back because they're timeless. She got a lot of gigs because people were impressed at her ability to size people up without meeting them. Robin's Beloved Brands Robin appreciates brands that accommodate different shapes, sizes, shades, and tones. She mentions Kut from the Kloth, Levi's, and J.Crew as the most accommodating and consistent brands. The Universal Standard The most stressful thing for women is shopping in little dressing rooms with crappy lighting and ventilation. This is where personal shoppers come in. J.Crew has the biggest size range in the US of 00 to 40. Why Your Closet Needs a Makeover Robin starts in the closet before shopping. She believes it's essential to know the clothing pieces you've already got. It allows you to go through the process of choosing what you need and what you don't. Women have a lot of attachment to clothes and memories. However, if you're not wearing them, she suggests passing it along. Having a Focus List When you have a focus list, you're not so overwhelmed and stressed out. A personal shopper's job is only to guide you. The problem roots from not being ever taught about how to dress as our body changes. The Importance of Personal Style People will play it safe in dressing up when they don't know and see something as an extreme. Looking up the facts on celebrities allows you to see things realistically instead of comparing them to yourself. People come to Robin when they're at a point in their life where they want to uplevel. Other than being “renewed,” they want to discover who they are and what their style is. She figures out the roles a person plays in life and dresses them to be at the highest level of that. When you feel better about yourself, you speak and carry yourself in a different way. Robin sees styling as a confidence builder, using clothes as her conduit. Robin's Style Career Highlights For Robin, it is more about working with individuals and having them come back to thank her for those achievements. She says that celebrity styling is nice, but she never felt connected with it. Her new YouTube channel revolves around black history and black businesses.  Listen to the full episode to know how Robin got into pivoting on YouTube! She's starting a 100% organic line designed by a person of color. Robin's Relationship Advice Robin and her husband's relationship started with friendship. Communication, for Robin, is the key to making a relationship work. Don't stop goofing off and doing silly things. Remind yourself and your partner that you love them. 5 Powerful Quotes from This Episode “Most closets aren't that bad. You have the stuff. You just don't know how to put it together because, one, nobody taught you, two, you're just in a rut because you have too many other things going on in your life.” “We weren't raised, we weren't sat down and talked to by our moms or anything about our shape or body size, what looks good on us because they didn't know.” “Yes, clothes do matter; they matter to the way we feel, to our self-esteem, to everything. They're power, and they also give you the leverage that you need within yourself to take the next step.” “I'm a confidence builder; I just happened to use clothes as my conduit.” “You can wear anything if you wear it with confidence.” About Robin Robin Allen is the creator of Robin Allen Style. Ascend Indiana strays from the traditional model of all other CICP initiatives because it serves all industry sectors, working in all areas of talent and workforce development. What was it about Indiana’s overall economy or talent ecosystem that compelled the creation of Ascend? Jason Kloth, President + CEO of Ascend Indiana fills us in.   Jason Kloth joined CICP in July 2015 and serves as President + CEO of Ascend Indiana. The initiative is a cross-sector, industry-led organization that collaborates with employers, education, and community partners to identify and address challenges within the talent pipeline. Prior to joining CICP, Jason led the Office of Education Innovation (OEI) as the deputy mayor of education under Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. Before joining the Mayor’s office, Jasonheld a variety of senior positions at Teach For America. Follow Jason on Twitter at @KlothJason and Ascend Indiana at @AscendIndiana.   This episode is a part of a six-part mini-series on CICP as part of its 20th Anniversary celebration. This episode is the first of a two-part series, which all sounds very fancy until you realize that it's actually not fancy even a little bit. But here's what happened: first we talked about Melanie's car troubles and my new simple suppers plan. Then Melanie and I had a *very* lengthy discussion about some of our everyday favorites (coffee, running shoes, Mexican entrees, etc.), and since we talked for a sweet forever (not to mention that we wanted to keep the show notes at least a smidge shorter than a novel), we decided to break the favorites discussion into two episodes. BUT - since we didn't want these next two episodes to be shorter than what you're used to, we're offering a little bonus content in episodes 96 and 97: interviews with two of our favorite (and funny) podcast-y people. SO, here's how that will play out in this very special episode 96. For about 45 minutes (-ish) you'll hear Melanie and me talk about all manner of favorites, and for another 20 minutes (-ish) you'll hear me talking with our hilarious, brilliant friend Jamie Golden. As many of you know, Jamie co-hosts The Popcast and (new podcast alert!) The Bible Binge with Knox McCoy. Jamie is a delight and a joy and it was the biggest blast to get to ask her some questions and then laugh at her answers. Anyway, I know that was a whole lot of explanation, so all that to say: episode 96 is a little bit different - but it's a good different. Not a long-term different. Just a two-episode different (episode 97 will come out in a few days - just FYI). Enjoy, y'all! Here's where you can get more info on the stuff / products / places we mention: AG the legging ankle jeans Vigoss jeans Kut from the Kloth jeans (regular and plus) Democracy jeans (regular and plus) Cheez-It Cheddar Jack (interestingly enough, here’s an article that ranks all the Cheez-Its)  Crunchmaster Gluten Free Crackers Artisan Nut Thins Triscuit Thin Crisps in Parmesan Garlic Superior Grill queso Mateo's Medium Salsa Southwestern Tossed Salad Captain Rodney's Dip Zella live in leggings (these are Melanie's hands-down favorites) Danskin NOW capri workout leggings (I think Walmart must be discontinuing them - most styles / sizes are out of stock) Lucy workout leggings (these, especially the Power Core, are Sophie's hands-down favorites) Nike Air Zoom Pegasus Brooks Revel running shoes Brooks Ghost 10 running shoes The Popcast The Bible Binge The Popcast Live Show in Dallas (Melanie will be there) The Popcast Live Show in Birmingham (Sophie will be there) Black Panther Closing Song Melanie on Instagram Sophie on Instagram Jamie Golden on Instagram

Red Warrior Society Tour This week on the show we spoke with Ikmu, an indigenous activist who was involved in the Red Warrior Camp at Standing Rock against the Dakota Access Pipeline.  Ikmu is now affiliated with the Red Warrior Society and is traveling with comrades around the country on a tour to talk about their work, decolonization and the struggle against ecocidal projects like #DAPL.   For the hour, Ikmu and Bursts talk about the Camps at #StandingRock, indigeneity, decolonization, the cases against Water Protectors Krow, Red Fawn Fallis and others, prayer, direct action and more.  We had this conversation just after the eviction of the Oceti Oyati Camp by pol-igs of various stripes. To find out about the upcoming West Coast branch of the Red Warrior Society Ride For Resistance Tour, check out their FedBook page   Red Warrior Society's legal fund Red Warrior Society's Funds Account   Contacts and support for some of the folks who are still being held in custody in connection with water protection at Standing Rock are:   Katie “Krow/Twig” Kloth Katie Kloth Morton County Correctional Center  205 1st Ave. NW  Mandan, ND 58554   Red Fawn Fallis 205 6th Street SE Suite 201,  Jamestown ND 58401   Charles “Scorch” Jordan Charles Jordan Burleigh County Jail PO BOX 1416 Bismarck, ND 58502   and Michael “Rattler” Markus Michael Markus PO Box 1108 Washburn, ND 58577   Please write to and support these folks! We are dedicated to building a culture and space for autonomous resistance against Trump and his regime, the State, and capitalism. This convergence is happening across three different venues in Durham: Pinhook, Arcana, and the Atomic Fern.   The Welcoming Committee will be setup at Pinhook (at 117 W. Main St, Durham, NC 27701) with materials/programming distributed there. Childcare will be provided with drop-off/pick-up at the Atomic Fern (at 108 E Parrish St, Durham, NC 27701). A free lunch will be provided at Pinhook by Durham FoodNotBombs FedBook.   To close out the day, an Autonomous Assembly will be held at Pinhook from 4:00PM – 5:00PM. The assembly will collectively create the agenda to be discussed, but we'd like to suggest that folks come prepared to discuss: announcements and projects to collaborate on; skills, resources, and spaces we can share with one another; direct issues/crises facing the community or concerns we're feeling; and mutual aid networks (cop-watches, community medical programs, rapid-response call networks, etc.) we can begin building in Durham now. We will provide materials to help folks learn how they form affinity groups, so that they may begin autonomously building these networks themselves.   You can see an entire list of workshops and events at the website http://www.buildingthecommune.com/   ACAB2017 If you are in Asheville or the surrounding area, consider participating in the first ever Asheville Anarchist Bookfair! The dates for this event are May 5-7th, and will include workshops, shows and dance parties, nature events, and a whole day of tabling revolutionary and anarchist art and literature.   Keep your eyes on http://acab2017.noblogs.org for the latest in news about the fair, and also use this webiste to submit ideas for workshops, speakers, or tabling.
