Hello...thanks for listening! Join my newsletter....https://www.westelizabeth.com/vip-list-signup This episode is a Re-Release from the original episode 26. Jessica Butts is a Myers-Briggs Expert and she breaks down my Four Letters of I-N-F-P! Self-awareness for me has been life changing in the best of ways...one of my fave quotes by Maya Angelou is "When you know better, you do better". I was always drained and exhausted for most of my life...I was a caretaker for many years (fourteen) and I had to grow up fast and with this said I never got a chance to do as one of my friends Mika said 'Self-Discovery' until the pandemic in late 2020. Wow! I WISH I knew all of these traits about myself...I certainly would have 'done better' in taking self-care and in recharging which has created a sense of calm, relief and dare I say happiness in my life that I never have had before. :) Enjoy! Ep. 63 What does it feel like to live with Borderline Personality Disorder? Right now, Kelly Marie is dealing with a depressive episode and during these times she finds that her BPD is "closer to the surface" now than when she doesn't have an overlapping depressive episode. She's been implementing the tools that she knows helps her to manage her mental health conditions and one of those ways is through journaling. JOURNAL ENTRY 11/27/22: When I feel this way, I feel raw. Like someone has peeled away the layers of my skin, one layer at a time they expose me and my feelings to the world. I feel tingly. Not in a good way but in a scrubbed hard with a bristle brush way. I'm only guessing because I've never been scrubbed hard with a bristle brush. What am I supposed to do? I just want to lay in the bed and cry. I feel like everything that I say is wrong. I'm sharing too much or not enough. I can't find the right words. The struggle for basic words that I know I know but they just don't come to me. I can't figure out how to put thoughts together and connect them to sentences and words in order to explain what I'm thinking. It's taking everything I have, okay not everything, but I am really struggling with managing my emotions right now. And I don't know what to do. I'm implementing the tools. I'm writing down my feelings. And journaling. If this counts as journaling. Actually, I know it counts as journaling. But I'm just raw. I feel naked. Welcome back to the Front Seat Life podcast, I am Jessica Butts your host. We are diving into Part Two of my Healing the Hustle framework and my upcoming book. I've written about 70% of the book and today we are moving into “Understanding Your Hustle.” And today I'm going to read to you from the book and add in a few explanations and stories too. Including the one about how I got my tattoo! It's funny, when I was a therapist and now I am again, but when I was a therapist, I complained there were too many rules keeping me from being able to do the work I wanted to do. However, there was this ethical and legal boundary that kept my work at work and made boundaries easier. When I became a coach that boundary disappeared, and it was a problem I created. And it was all based on my worth, or lack thereof. See, part of my hustle was people pleasing. And I'm guessing yours is as well. Women are natural caretakers due to both nature and nurture. It runs in our DNA. We over-give because we feel bad or that we aren't doing enough, especially if they are giving us money to be their coach. When I was on a vacation, like the one I took to Maui a few years ago, I was still answering Facebook or Instagram DMs, checking my email, even though I had put my ‘out of office' on and even had a wonderful assistant covering me. I was constantly thinking about my clients, my team, my work. There's also another big reason why I, and our type do this…We get validation from being busy and feeling needed. And I have done so much more work on this since I've written this section in my book and with this episode I share some insights that might also resonate with you!Enjoy this first installment of the new mini-series about Part 2 of Healing the Hustle! And remember, I always love hearing from my listeners. Feel free to reach out to me and of course I would love, love, love a review on iTunes, it helps others find us. Welcome back to the Front Seat Life podcast, I am Jessica Butts your host. I'm back on Maui and I could not be happier. We're back for the third episode of a mini-series I've renamed How We Got Here and this is the Our Need to “Do” is a Trauma Response episode. We have been talking about how we all got here, how we got to this place of hustling, your journey, my journey, sharing that, and giving you some tools. Our New World, which hit home with a lot of people. I heard from a lot of people about my saying, connection before capitalism, that seemed to really hit home with people. And today is this Our Need to Do. Our need, specifically as women, and that this is our identity. This is a badge of honor. This somehow makes us better. And I'm here to tell you that I'm going through this as well. So, I've been talking about nature and nurture and how our personality type absolutely plays a part in this. The nurture piece is so big, and this is absolutely 1000000% our family of origin. And there's so many of us that are acting out. We are trying to prove ourselves to people, the world, and society. And then there's often a trauma response to our family of origin. And societal norms. These are two very powerful forces.Enjoy this third installment of the new mini-series within the Healing the Hustle Series! And remember, I always love hearing from my listeners. Welcome back everybody to the Front Seat Life podcast, I am Jessica Butts your host. We're back for the second episode of a mini-series I've renamed How We Got Here and this is the Our New World episode. And this is all within the Healing Our Hustle focus for the podcast. This is all about how we got to this crazy hustle, hustle world and today we're going to talk about that new world we find ourselves in.The last 30 years have completely changed our existence. I mean, I remember like in high school, college even, and when I started my first job out of college, all we did was work. We didn't have computers. There was no internet. We didn't do any of this stuff. And so, within 30 years, our lives have completely changed, completely changed. With technology and phones, and obviously social media, all of it, the “how we got here” is just massive. This must be addressed. We've got to acknowledge the fact that we are now in hustle culture.Absolutely because of this new world we live in. I was looking at my book earlier and all the things I had written down about how people can contact us. Back in the day, people called us on the telephone connected to our houses. We had the cool phones with the super, super, super long cord so that we could go into the bathroom and have a private conversation and have our parents not hear us. We used to do everything I R L, in real life. We had to actually see people. So anyway, you need to listen to this episode. I just find this fascinating and creates a great sense of awareness. Please, enjoy this second installment of the new mini-series within the Healing the Hustle Series! And remember, I always love hearing from my listeners. Feel free to reach out to me and of course I would love, love, love a review on iTunes, it helps others find us. Welcome back everybody to the Front Seat Life podcast. I am Jessica Butts and thank you for all the love about the hundredth episode. It's pretty amazing to have a hundred episodes. I mean, do I have that much to say? I guess I do! I really appreciate the comments and the reviews, and the love and we are just going to keep this party going. And we're going to get back on track today Healing the Hustle. So, today we are going to start with the first section of my new book which is answering the questions, “How did we get here? And why can't I just be happy?” And this is broken into basically three main things. The first is looking at your journey, how you got to where you are now. Like me sharing my journey of getting to where I am, both personally and physically here on Maui. Then we look at our new world, this crazy unbelievable new world we live in. And finally, it's good to reflect on our obsessive need to "do." We live in a capitalist society and a culture that puts a lot of value on “the more you do the better.”How can we not always be going, going, going? This need to “do” is some sort of badge of honor. It's a bunch of BS, quite honestly, but we've all bought into it, that we need more, we need to buy more. We're just spending our money like crazy people and we're not saving. And so, we always need a better job and to be making more money. We've always got to be hustling to do the next thing, because we've literally created this life, but it's also innate in us.Okay, enjoy this first installment of the new mini-series within the Healing the Hustle Series! And remember, I always love hearing from my listeners. Feel free to reach out to me and of course I would love, love, love a review on iTunes, it helps others find us. Welcome back everybody. This is the Front Seat Life podcast, and I am Jessica Butts bringing you my 100th episode! It's kind of amazing. I've paused, taken some time off, come back with Healing the Hustle, but today we get to celebrate! I believe in celebrations and that we should celebrate our life and business wins. And I'm celebrating two major wins this week, my 100th episode and I got approved trademark for Front Seat Life! So, of course my 100th episode is going to be about personality type. And dialing it up, not dialing it down. Be more of who we are, not suppressing it or oppressing it. Not being vanilla in any way, shape, or form. It's hard for us to do, because we naturally focus on the stuff we suck at and think we need to get better at that, to try to please everyone. I explain some of the traps we can fall into and the mistakes we make. But our greatest gift or path in life is to become more of who we are. We are not meant to be in a zone of competence, but a zone of genius. So, dial it up!And remember, I always love hearing from my listeners. Feel free to reach out to me via email and of course I would love, love, love a review on iTunes, it helps others find us. Welcome back everybody. This is the Front Seat Life podcast, and I am Jessica Butts bringing you another episode in the Healing the Hustle series. I know it's confusing, but it's what I'm doing at the moment. Today's episode is a bit of a mess.I'm talking about how to show up when you are not okay. Because part of our hustle is absolutely people pleasing. Absolutely pretending, like everything's fine. And I'm not okay today. The cons of doing this in real time, in real life, as I've promised to be doing, is that sh*t happens, but the show must go on. I got kicked in the gut and I do believe that I really, really struggled with whether I do the podcast, or I just not do it?That was option A, just skip a week. Option B, which is not really an option for me was to show up and be fake. To show up and pretend like I don't have super wonky energy. And that is part of, again, the hustling that we do. This is part of the everything's fine culture. It's part of the culture that I've calling BS on for 11 years probably. This is just not healthy. It's not healthy to pretend like everything's fine. It's not healthy for us or for our relationships to show up in an inauthentic way and from our backseats. The backseat is when we're doing too many things that we suck at, or someone breaks our heart… So, option C was to show up, record the podcast, be true to my commitment, and be authentic. Please listen and I'll explain what is going on and hopefully what I share will help you if you find yourself in a similar situation, which does seem to happen to us all from time to time. And remember, I always love hearing from my listeners. Feel free to reach out to me via email and of course I would love, love, love a review on iTunes, it helps others find us. And don't forget to subscribe and follow for future episodes. For more about Jessica and additional episodes, visit https://jessicabutts.com/Follow Jessica on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/jessicabuttsma/Front Seat Life Podcasthttps://businessinnovatorsradio.com/front-seat-life-podcast/Source: https://businessinnovatorsradio.com/99-how-to-show-up-when-you-are-not-okay-healing-the-hustle

Hello...thanks for listening! The interview starts at 4:24. ;-) Jessica was my first podcast interview back in October 2021! Thanks, Jessica!!! I edit my own podcast episodes right now and due to this and "life" it took me this long to convert our Zoom interview into Audacity (how I edit my podcast episodes) and then onto MP3 so they can be listened to as a podcast, after the edits! Being "techie" isn't my strong suit and it's funny because we talk about this on the episode! haha! Jessia Butts is a Myers-Briggs expert (although she discusses many other personality traits and characteristics!). I found out about Jessica Butts from Kate Kordsmeier's podcast called 'Success with Soul' and from Laura Sprinkle's podcast called 'The Laura Sprinkle Show'. I love how Jessica breaks down personality types and makes it easy to understand! I'm an INFP and Jessica talks about how my personality type is according to these four letters: I = Introvert N = Intuitive F = Feeling P = Perceiving Free Personality Test (similar to the Myers-Briggs test and also where I've taken my personality test from) *It only takes 10 minutes* www.16personalities.com After you get your four letters, below is a Free mini-report per Marketing Personalities by Brit Kolo. Her tag lines are "Marketing That Feels Good" and "YOU are More Important than Your Ideal Client Avatar". It's based on the four letters of your personality type. https://www.marketingpersonalities.com/?affiliate=westelizabeth If you enjoy the Free mini-report and you'd like to purchase the Full Report ($39.00) - that is my affiliate link above and I'll receive a a small commission at no cost to you. I purchased the Full Report back in 2020 and it's very helpful! It's great because I refer back to it when I need to which reminds me...I'll need to refer to it again soon! :) It's a Workbook that you can type in and it helps with everything marketing (from social media to books to your work style, all according to your personality type!). Pretty cool, huh? ;-) An article where they break down what any of the four letters mean: www.truity.com/myers-briggs/4-letters-myers-briggs-personality-types Jessica Butts' info: www.jessicabutts.com jessica-butts.mykajabi.com/personality-assessment/ Jessica's podcast is called: "Front Seat Life" and it's sooooo gooood! www.instagram.com/jessicabuttsma/ Jessica's Books: "Live Your Life from the Front Seat" and "Don't Do Stuff You Suck At"...she's working on a third book too and you know I'll keep you posted! Welcome back everybody to the Healing the Hustle series on the Front Seat Life podcast. I'm delighted that you're back, we're on episode four. I really have no idea how many episodes there are going to be in this series, I'm just going to keep it rolling.I do love when the universe continues to give feedback, if you will, that the more that I talk about this, the more that I go back to my roots of personality type and my therapy roots, and really connecting with people and not talking at people again, the universe just continues to reward that with more ideal clients. The world is eager and excited to start learning about their personality type again. And I'm loving that people are reaching out and they're engaging, and they want me to come in and speak to their organization or their women's group or their team. Now, I know you are dying to know about some of the stuff that I'm going to talk about today. Today's episode is “I Made a Mistake.” I made a mistake and I'm assuming, everybody's thinking, oh God, she thinks she made a mistake by moving to Maui. That is not what this episode is about. I did not make a mistake moving here, but I have made a mistake.I'm not going to spoil it here, you are going to have to listen to the episode to find out! And you should listen to the end, go all the way through this episode. There is some good sh*t. I get on a soapbox at the end. I think the entire episode is wonderful and I hope you learn a lot about why I made a mistake.I would love to hear from you. Welcome back everybody to the Healing the Hustle series on the Front Seat Life podcast. Today is yet another doozy. I was just going to name this episode “overthinking,” but then I realized it's not that for us, for “J” women, for us controlling, domineering, bossy, overthinking women. Hence the name of this episode. This is a fun project because I get to be very observant. I am an extremely observant person. It's one of my favorite things to do. It's just sit and people watch. And it's absolutely why I love being a therapist. And with this episode I'm sharing some observations, some stories about overthinking and trying to control the moment or the experience. I've been going through some big changes with my move to Maui and have caught myself trying to control things that are outside of my control, and noticing times when I could overthink things. Hopefully you can relate to these, I have a feeling these might resonate with many of you.I am enjoying putting these episodes together for you! And I would love to hear from you. Welcome back to the Front Seat Life podcast, and our new series the Front Seat 16! I am your host Jessica Butts, and today's episode is all about the ESFJ. I just got done recording the episode with Katie Christiansen and we are doing this episode right after the Sarah Dean episode, which is perfect because Katie is actually a Sara's assistant and we talk so much about how she is the ideal integrator to the ENFJ visionary. And the episode is so packed, full of absolutely amazing information. We did her family type. We talked about the integrator and the visionary, and expectations and how they become a martyr. It is an incredible, incredible episode. It might be my favorite of the series so far.Overall ESFJ's are the Caregiver. They are generous and giving and organized and detailed, their archetype is the Police. They are the support staff, if you will. They have no desire to be the upfront person. Their Drunk Uncle is actually the Intuitive. So that kind of big picture and entrepreneurial and starting their own business is absolutely their backseat. Katie, and most ESFJ's absolutely love being the Caretaker. They love that role in their family and their life. And they are absolutely the perfect, perfect assistant and integrator for the visionary. I really hope you enjoy this episode. Welcome back to the Front Seat 16, our new series from the Front Seat Life podcast! I am your host Jessica Butts, and today Sara Dean joins me for probably my favorite episode of the series to talk about ENFJ! Why's it my favorite? Because it's my type too, haha! Sara is a dear friend, a podcasting genius, and the creator and host of The Shameless Mom Podcast.Overall ENFJs are extroverted, intuitive, feeling and judging which means they give their best selves to other people. They are big picture thinkers. They think outside the box, they're always thinking about what's next. It makes them great entrepreneurs. They are feelers, meaning they make decisions with their hearts and they are Js, which means they're normally pretty obsessive, highly organized, like to be on time, they are planners, and futuristic. And they pretty much have the horse blinders on, like, “Get out of my way, don't distract me, this is where I'm going.” The ENFJs and the ENFPs are interesting because they're very similar, but their front seats are different. An ENFJ is out in the world, giving, sharing, connecting in life and in business, right? We normally have a lot of friends. We have a lot of activities going on. People might think we're very social and, and extroverted and outgoing, which is true. But not the other half of us, the other 50% of us is inside in our hearts. In our mind, being intuitive, walking in silence, thinking in silence, journaling, having a morning practice, getting away by ourselves, taking solo trips, a weekend retreats by ourself, all a whole bunch of alone. And that my friends is where ENFJs get their ideas.Listen in to this episode to learn all about ENFJs, I'm sure you know some! Sara and I share some great stories and examples of life interactions where our type resonate, and where it clashes. I hope you enjoy today's episode. Welcome back to the Front Seat 16, our new series from the Front Seat Life podcast! I am your host Jessica Butts, and today Gina and Rae join me as our ENFPs! Gina and I went to graduate school together and we both decided to transition from therapy to coaching because of the constrictions placed upon us, they just didn't jive with our types. These two have learned that living and being in a relationship with someone who is the same type can have some amazing benefits. There are still a few challenges, but Gina and Rae seem to have figured out how to love and thrive with each other.ENFP is probably my favorite type, and for years I wanted to be an ENFP and I would take the assessment over and over again. And I would come out in ENFP, which is gotta be hilarious to everybody who knows me, because I'm a super “J”, I'm very controlling, very organized, very long-term vision. But I love ENFPs and so I would skew it to be what I thought I wanted to be because they are very raw, very loving, and open, and compassionate. They're kind of named the “cheerleader.” They are enthusiastic. They have a lot of charisma. People love them. They are very fly by the seat of their pants, and go with the flow.I feel like they've just got life figured out, but they just are so just spontaneous and enjoyable to be around. You want to be around them. They're those kinds of people because they have this really beautiful energy. They are giving their best selves to other people. They are great visionaries of the business. Absolutely horrible integrators. It is probably the worst part of them is getting shit done. They are absolutely not good integrators. They are the visionaries, the Walt Disney's of the world. They are the people who are thinking outside the box and then they must, must, must have somebody, a right-hand person to help them get all of those ideas done. Otherwise I'm very, honestly, they will never get them. They will never get them done if they do not have somebody to help them implement all of their ideas.I hope you enjoy today's episode. Gina and Rae are just a gift to the universe as individuals, but especially as a couple. They are really open about their life and how wonderful it is and the things that as a couple, they struggle with, like not getting things done. Welcome back to the Front Seat 16, our new series from the Front Seat Life podcast! I am your host Jessica Butts, and today Karen Rosenzweig joins me as my official ESTJ. Karen is one of my favorite people ever. She is a total go-getter, and an incredibly awesome human being. But before we get started in all of these episodes of all of the 16 types, I want to go over five main things, which is more the Front Seat Life methodology before we jump into our guests. So those five things are who an ESTJ is overall, their Front Seat, their backseat, their archetype (my made up intellectual property), and then a really great career for each type.Meyers-Briggs calls an ESTJ “The Guardian.” I would lovingly possibly call them “The Controllers” because ESTJs are extroverted, sensing, thinking and judging, which means they're extroverted out in the world and they are very logical detail oriented. They make decisions with their head and they're very organized, structured on time. They like things a certain way. They don't have a lot of emotional regulation, they're not super into emotions.I break all of this down before we hop into my conversation with Karen who has been an entrepreneur for 15 years and runs One Smart Cookie Marketing. Her type is my Mom's type, so I know her type extremely well! Karen is kind enough to open up about her challenges and how she also excels because her type. And we also dive into how she and her wife, who is the exact opposite type, connect and manage to accept each other for who they are. It's another wonderful and beautiful conversation where we get to unpack a lot and I'm sure many of you will be able to relate on many levels. I hope this is helpful and interesting to you. Please listen to this fantastic episode with Karen Rosensweig. And stay tuned for more powerful episodes in this series, I'm so excited to bring it to you!Much love, JessicaFor more about Jessica and additional episodes, visit https://jessicabutts.com/Join the Front Seat Collective here: https://jessicabutts.com/fsl-collective/Follow Jessica on Instagram: @frontseatlifeKaren's One Smart Cookie Marketing: https://onesmartcookiemarketing.com/Follow Karen on Instagram:@karenrosenzweigFront Seat Life Podcasthttps://businessinnovatorsradio.com/front-seat-life-podcast/Source: https://businessinnovatorsradio.com/89-fs16-estj-with-karen-rosenzweig

Welcome back to the Front Seat 16, our new series from the Front Seat Life podcast! I am your host Jessica Butts, and today we've got Courtney Anderson as my official ENTJ. It was a very simple choice for me when I was starting all of the Front Seat 16 interviews, it was very obvious to me that Courtney would be my ENTJ. Courtney is a former client and I would consider her a friend now, one who is super wicked smart. As an ENTJ Courtney is sassy and says what's on her mind. I think we're probably like sisters from another mother, we're super similar, and she has been an amazing student. She's now a coach herself and she's got a thriving business.True to form, Counrtney breaks out her sassy side and tells us how life is when you are A Thinking Woman. She starts with some amazing stories when she was just eight years old and had a realization she wasn't quite like everyone else, and didn't care. The stories continue and she reveals some incredible tales I had never heard before. Truly mind-blowing, but on point for an ENTJ.We unpack so many powerful concepts in this conversation, and if you are feeling like you are living an incongruent life right now, this may resonate. It may be a huge eye-opener and I encourage everyone to listen in, it's a good one.I certainly feel that there are people who will listen to this episode, and you may be one of them, maybe you hear yourself in Courtney. And that is validating. It is normalizing. And it's so good for you to know that you're not alone. You're unique and that's perfectly okay. And stay tuned for more powerful episodes in this series, I'm so excited to bring it to you!Much love, JessicaFor more about Jessica and additional episodes, visit https://jessicabutts.com/Join the Front Seat Collective here: https://jessicabutts.com/fsl-collective/Follow Jessica on Instagram: @frontseatlifeCourtney's 30 Ways to Say “No!” freebie: https://www.girlonfire.biz/sayno/Follow Courtney on Instagram: @girl.on.fire.coFront Seat Life Podcasthttps://businessinnovatorsradio.com/front-seat-life-podcast/Source: https://businessinnovatorsradio.com/88-fs16-entj-with-courtney-anderson

Jessica Butts, Founder of Front Seat Life, joins Martha to tell us how she became CEO of her life at 37. At 37, Jessica found herself exhausted and uninspired. Her soul was on fire. She NEEDED to do something different. So, she told her husband that she wanted to go to grad school. Funny enough, he had the audacity (the bad kind) to say “no”. What the actual f*c#?! This was the moment that Jessica knew everything must change. Her time with her husband and time in her job promptly came to an overdue stop and today, 10 years later, she is living her best life. Being the Harry Potter fans that they are, Martha and Jessica use the analogy of muggles and wizards to tell their stories and show you how you, too, might be wizard-like they are. “I'm not participating in this capitalist bullshit and treating people like garbage to make more money. Many of us dream of the perfect, harmonious relationship. Each person is there to support one another equally, help each other become the best versions of yourself, and maintaining the relationship feels effortless. Sometimes we want this kind of relationship so badly, that when our gut is telling us something’s off we ignore it in the hope that we’re in the wrong. Although listening to that gut feeling may be terrifying, it can also be extremely freeing. Jessica Butts and I discussed the euphoria of finding yourself again on this episode of The Divorce Doctor Podcast. Jessica is the creator and CEO of Front Seat Life. She's a Myers-Briggs expert. She's a life business coach for intuitive women. She's a therapist, she's an author. She's a keynote speaker podcaster, and she brings so much love and heart to everything she does. She is an ENFJ, truth teller, F-bomb dropper, a lover of all things Maui, and fiercely dedicated to helping you become unapologetically who you are. In this episode, Jessica and I discuss her sense of freedom as a result of her divorce, and the experience of restoring her individuality.
Do you know who you REALLY are? Maybe you feel like something is just OFF in your life yet not sure what it is? Well Jessica Butts has figured it out! Not only in her life, but for others. She helps us creative intuitive types (yes that's who I am as well) get unapologetic about what we want and how we want to live our lives! Listen and watch as Jessica and I dive deep into her amazing point of view around living a "Front Seat Life". She also opens up and shares with us what she continues to struggle with along her journey and how she gets her brave on. Her transparency and raw emotion will have you looking deep within for your own truth! Don't miss this powerful episode! (Headphones recommended if you have sensitive ears listening:-) More About Jessica Jessica Butts is a Myers Briggs nerd/expert and former psychotherapist and couples counselor turned Author, Keynote Speaker, and Intuitive Coach. Jessica has an exciting and eye-opening spin on the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator which unlocks massive clarity for female creatives.
Hello, Front Seat Lifers! I have a special, amazing, WONDERFUL guest for you today, Michelle Mazur. We both live here in the Seattle area, and she is a rock star. She’s a straight-up weirdo, just like me, and so many of you, and she’s also a total intuitive type. She has a Ph.D. in Communications and has created this company called 3 WORD REBELLION that I gravitate towards, hence, Front Seat Life, and it is just a fascinating way to describe your business and what you do.Michelle’s philosophy on this 3 Word Rebellion is one of the BEST TOOLS I have ever seen or heard or studied about getting clear about what your message is so that you don’t go off and squirrel. Listen carefully because Michelle is going to BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF today! She is absolutely an amazing person, an amazing business owner, an amazing woman, an amazing intuitive, and an AMAZING GUEST.Again, this POWERFUL MESSAGING FRAMEWORK is all about creating a one of a kind message that grows your business into a movement.Michelle grew her business as a public speaking coach for about five years, and then literally had a, “Fuck this shit! I can’t do this anymore…” moment.Giving herself SPACE and time to reflect, she noticed that many good communicators were able to encapsulate the change they want to create in just a few words.“It’s like your message is so important in getting you known, and I thought to myself, I wonder if I could take questions from social movement theory, like what are you rebelling against? What’s the CHANGE you’re trying to create in the world and use them with my clients? To see if I could get them to their core message, like let them just kind of free write, dump their ideas out of their head.I wonder if I could help them figure out what their core message is, and THAT WORKED!”And that was the beginning of the 3 Word Rebellion.Listen in today as we dig deep into this incredible messaging concept and unpack why it works and how it works. Michelle even gives us a “TEMPLATE” to follow when crafting our message.Does it just have to be three words? So, in her book, she gives creative constraints, which are rules, but it can be two to five words. The important thing to remember is that it’s incredibly sticky or starts what Michelle calls an “INTRIGUE LOOP.” The first thing it does is it stops the other person. It grabs their attention because it’s something a little bit different. And that’s just the start. LISTEN to this episode, get her book, follow her AND IMPLEMENT this into your messaging and you will find the clarity and focus you have been seeking. I guarantee it! This episode is one you need to listen to ALL THE WAY to the end. So damn good. SO DAMN GOOD.Thanks again for listening, I appreciate you all so much and hope you are staying healthy and well. What if you could embrace your innateness…and stop doing stuff you suck at? The Myers-Briggs personality type assessment is the most popular personality test in the world. But what does it have to do with business? What if you knew how to focus, how to hire, how to plan, and how to operate in the day-to-day of your business based on your strengths, and surrounded yourself with people who have amazingly valuable–but very different–strengths than you? We all have strengths and very specific things we’re great at. Likewise, we all have things that we are NOT innately good at. What if you stopped trying to be well rounded and started solely working in your zone of genius? In this episode, Meyers-Briggs expert Jessica Butts has come up with a revolutionary new approach to get the most out of the Myers-Briggs personality assessment. Jessica is CEO and Founder of Front Seat Life where she helps inspire, motivate, and educate people to live their life from the ‘front seat’ using their innate abilities. As you’re about to find out, the Myers-Briggs is FAR more than just a personality test! What you’ll learn in this episode: How to embrace your innateness, stop doing things you suck at, and let go of being well rounded The differences between I and E, N and S, F and T, J and P on the Myers-Briggs assessment How Myers-Briggs can save marriages (and all relationships) and how to handle being married to your opposite The importance of both masculine and feminine energy in business What personality type is best suited for entrepreneurship, blogging, and owning your own business How Myers-Briggs can help entrepreneurs bring more ease into their businesses, increase productivity and hire the right people Subscribe and Review Thanks so much for joining me this week. Hello, this is Jessica, your host coming to you during this “NEW NORMAL” that we’re in right now. And I am with you in the ROLLERCOASTER of emotions, the fear of the economy, the fear of people that I love getting sick. And during this time, I am, quite honestly, more committed than ever to bringing you content that is helpful and full transparency.I’m kind of ON FIRE right now. I am stuck in my house, and it seems to be a time of great inspiration for me, and so I’m just going gangbusters with content right now, and it feels good to be able to be of service and help in a way that I know that I can right now.I’m dedicated to HELPING PEOPLE understand themselves in this time of crisis through understanding personality type and human behavior, which I’m an expert in, and how that then also translates to our relationships in regular times, and now this time of crisis. As you may know, I am the creator of FRONT SEAT LIFE, a new approach to Myers-Briggs, and about our reptilian brain. My whole “BACKSEAT” methodology is about us understanding exactly what we’re going through right now, which are times of stress.I feel very much called to be of service right now. I’m going BALLS-TO-THE-WALL on my personal Facebook page right now to give a ton of content. I am talking about each of the dichotomies and how they show up in your Backseat. Then I’m going to be talking about how we, as human beings, either as single people or just as individuals, how WE CAN MANAGE this time of crisis by understanding our personality type. And of course, that BACKSEAT REPTILIAN BRAIN RESPONSE that is happening to every single one of us.I’m so in this creative mode, and it’s great energy. It’s super relevant content, 1000% pertinent to what we’re doing right now, and I’m asking for a little grace about also conserving my energy because I’m in this with all of you. I’m on the roller coaster. PLEASE JOIN me every morning on Facebook for more.I hope you enjoy the episode and know that there are more of them coming. I’m going to try to shove them in and do some bonus episodes and give you this content as quickly as possible because I know that WE’RE ALL IN IT.So, take care, TAKE CARE EVERYBODY. Take care of yourself, number one, and then take care of those that are very, very important to you. And start by understanding how you’re reacting to this time of stress, and then lovingly accepting and understanding how the people around you are.All right, enjoy. For more about Jessica and her upcoming events, visit https://jessicabutts.comFollow her on Instagram @frontseatlife for daily motivation.Sign up for the new Live Unapologetically waitlist: https://jessicabutts.com/LU/The FREE Front Seat Squad: https://jessicabutts.com/squad/Not sure what your Myers Briggs personality type is? Recently, lots of people have been talking to me about some of the CONFUSION around INTUITIVE types. So, it’s led me to want to do some clarifying on this podcast episode today around NJ’s, which are intuitive judgers, and NP’s, intuitive perceivers.I created the FRONT SEAT LIFE, which is a revolutionary new approach to the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator. And as part of this approach, I created my own archetypes based on the Front Seat Life method. And that is the second dichotomy and the last dichotomy paired together, which means there are four: intuitives (N) and sensors (S), judgers (J) and perceivers (P). With the pairings being:- SJ: the police.- SP: the adventurers/artists.- NJ: the entrepreneurs.- NP: (my favorites) the squirrels.Today, in particular, I am going to be talking significantly about NP’s and NJ’s because some of my mastermind group reached out to me and said, “You know, I don’t resonate with the word intuitive because we are strong DRIVEN, HARDCORE, ambitious women.”They think of themselves like that, as do I, and they’re having a problem because NP’s are a bit more woo woo. They are big picture, think-outside-the-box-CREATIVES like all intuitives are, but when you start pairing the letters, this is when shit gets interesting. When you put them together in the archetypes like I am and talk about your Front Seat and your Back Seat, as I do in the Front Seat Life methodology, this is when stuff gets rich. The tip of the iceberg is the four dichotomies, and then it gets so much DEEPER.So, that’s what we’re doing today. I am talking about pairing NP’s and NJ’s and what their similarities are and what their differences are and how we all relate to each other.NJ’s are these driven, hardcore, AMBITIOUS, get it done, creative-vision-entrepreneurs-get-out-of-my-way kinds of people. They sometimes don’t resonate with the NP’s, which are a little WOO WOO, or a lot woo woo. They’re so full of ideas and they flit from thing to thing. They are very creative and absolutely huge free thinkers. They are very squirrelly. About 90% of my clients are P’s because they have all these amazing ideas, but they have a hard time focusing. So, the common denominator with NJ’s and NP’s is this creative, visionary, think outside the box aspect. All the different ideas are really about being intuitive. It’s just how the last letter, the J, and the P factor in and play a role. Here’s the deal. I don’t want J’s to think that they are not this person, the intuitives, because they are driven and ambitious. There is a SPECIALNESS, a uniqueness that 25% of the population has. And that is this intuitiveness.I hope this episode and the examples I share (blinders on v. blinders off) can help you to see the similarities, yet the differences that one letter, one dichotomy, in our personality can make. We’re different, and we’re similar. All right, I’m going to be doing BONUS EPISODES on the archetypes coming up next, and then I’m going to be doing all the myths for each of the archetypes. That is going to be fun. So, until next week, have a good one and thanks again for listening! For more about Jessica and her upcoming events, visit https://jessicabutts.comFollow her on Instagram @frontseatlife for daily motivation. The FREE Front Seat Squad: https://jessicabutts.com/squad/Not sure what your Myers Briggs personality type is? I am excited that you guys are here today. We are going to go on a JOURNEY over the next several weeks, and I am going to go over some basics with you. Those of you who are active listeners, (thank you, by the way), know that I recently went to my Mastermind group with Kate Northrup, and Amy Porterfield was also there. One of the things that I took away from that experience is that I’ve gotten away from my Myers-Briggs base a little bit. I’m too close to it or something. Do you guys do what I mean? And I’m coming back to it!I created FRONT SEAT LIFE, which I’m realizing is truly a REVOLUTIONARY new way to look at Myers-Briggs. For those of us that have trouble understanding this brilliant tool, this is a better way, an easier way for people to understand it. So, I’m going back to my roots a little bit here and today is an episode about flow and ease. Here’s the deal. The FRONT SEAT is the way God designed you. For every single personality type, there are two parts that will facilitate FLOW and EASE. You have more energy and I think you sleep better. I think you have better sex. I think you lose weight. I think everything in your life feels Flow and Ease. This is a little bit of an advanced topic today, so for those of you who don’t have any fricking idea what I’m talking about, I would highly recommend you go to my website, and take the personality assessment because otherwise, you’re not going to know what I’m talking about. And our Front Seat is the two middle letters of your Myers-Briggs personality type paired up. So, I’m an ENFJ, for example, the N and the F are called functional pairs. Those two letters in the middle make up a huge part of our “car.” The extrovert and introvert also have a place in it, but as I’ve said before, the J and the P don’t.These two middle letters are Flow and Ease. This is where I need, and you need to be spending 80% of your time. The way that I like to visualize these two parts of our personality, the Front Seat, it’s like a beach ball. So, if you’ve got a beach ball and you’re just kicking it down the beach, and there’s ZERO EFFORT, zero effort. You’re just walking, and you’re kicking it along. That is the visualization I have for your Front Seat. It is EASY. It is FLOW. It is GOD-GIVEN. This is the way that you were born into this world. And when we are doing things that we are NATURALLY DESIGNED to do, it is inevitable that it’s going to be Flow and Ease.If you have been trying to be “well-rounded,” and you’re fucking exhausted… STOP! I was one of those people trying to do all the God-forsaken things. It doesn’t work. There is a lot to understanding the difference between the Front Seat and the Back Seat, but focusing on your Front Seat, the Flow and Ease will help so, so much. Listen in to this episode as I dive into this extremely important concept. And keep tuning in for more, because I’m on a mission the next several weeks and it’s going to be awesome! I just came off an incredible week with my Mastermind. We’re a total of four entrepreneurs that have become very dear friends. And we Mastermind. We are building relationships. And I am reinvigorated for Front Seat Life! For my business, for you guys, for this podcast, and to be of service.I’m more excited than normal and I’m also really, freaking excited to bring you today’s topic, which is Goal Setting for Intuitives. Because I’m an Intuitive, I work almost exclusively with Intuitives, and Front Seat Life is really designed for Intuitives… because we are the WEIRDOS.We are only 25% of the population, and quite honestly, of that 25% of the population, a large portion of those people don’t even know that they’re Intuitives because they’ve been living suppressed in a world made up by Sensors, the other 75%.But again, today’s topic is specifically about GOAL SETTING. So, I’m going to start by saying how we don’t do things, or we need to not do things, like Sensors. We do not process information the way that 75% of the population does. Sensors are SMART GOAL kinds of people. You’ve heard of these, maybe even tried them out, and probably found they DIDN’T WORK for you.Especially if you are Intuitive. We are not like that. We are not “sit down and write things out” kinds of people. We live in a world that is designed by a bunch of people who don’t get the ways our brains work.(And so that is why I’m so f*cking passionate about working with Intuitives because I am that person.)Are you an Intuitive? Stop trying to do SMART goals? Okay? Listen in, because during this episode, I’m going to tell you how Intuitive brains work around setting goals for the New Year. (And, by the way, I think you should do this quarterly, not just yearly.)We Intuitives must start with the BIG PICTURE. We are like a funnel, in your mind, think of a funnel. Sensors start at the bottom of the funnel. They are detail people. They are down there in the minutiae. When they have all the details, then they get a big picture. Intuitives, we start at the big picture and then we get smaller. So, my friends, you have to start with the big picture. What’s up with your vision board? Do you have a new one? Do you even have one? What does it look like? Are you updating it? And then what are the big pictures for yourself? Also, if you do not have a FIVE-YEAR VISION for yourself, you fricking better get one. Along with a 10-year vision too.I used to somewhat think that I was a procrastinator. And it’s NOT ABOUT PROCRASTINATION for Intuitives. It’s the fact that it’s the number third thing on goal setting for Intuitives, which is we need to FEEL INTO IT.Why are you not getting something done? It’s part of how we process information. Intuitives have to oftentimes sit with it, decide how it feels. How does my intuition think about that? So, whatever that means for you, taking a walk, going on vacation by yourself, your morning practice. This is a time for me where I get even more introverted.Mind mapping is another great way to help set your goals, but this is very, very difficult to explain on a podcast. Go check out my webinar on the 18th because I’m going to show you what mind mapping looks like. Or you can also go look it up.The next strategy I use to help me with my goal setting is to also pray. I say this a lot, I’m a Christian and I’m a believer that also says f*ck a lot. And I pray when I’m STUCK. I pray for other people of course. But sometimes I just say, “God, I’m over-managing this and I need your input.”I believe in taking guidance. I don’t believe in people telling me what to do. I still trust the universe and God and my own intuition first. And then I listen to other people. And so lastly about goal setting for Intuitives, here’s a couple of questions to ask yourself:Where are you PLAYING SMALL in your life or your business? And how much of that is FEAR based?I believe wholeheartedly that for new to come in, we must release the old. Whether that is old patterns, old beliefs, old relationships, old ways of being, or an old business model. To step into something new, we must release the old. This is a biggie and if you listen, you’ll hear me go pretty deep on this one. But that’s goal setting in a nutshell. Listen to this mind-bending episode for more details and I’m sure you won’t regret it. As always, I get real and authentic and plenty vulnerable as I share my own experiences and mistakes. And as always, I love you all and am just wanting to spread this Front Seat Life message. I’m getting very excited for 2020 to bring you a little bit of a new format and some new awesome stuff for the podcast.I’m just really honored and thank you again for listening. For more about Jessica and her upcoming events, visit https://jessicabutts.comFollow her on Instagram @frontseatlife for daily motivation. Not sure what your Myers Briggs personality type is? “Yesterday I was clever, so I changed the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” – RumiHello Front Seat Lifers! I am thrilled as always to be with you and today is a fun episode for me. It is about what the two biggest, I mean there are a lot of lessons, but the two biggest lessons I learned from the Front Seat Life event this year. As you may know, so once a year I throw this GINORMOUS event. I am going to be honest, there are a lot of feelings around it and part of what I learned is what I’m going to share about all these feelings.Throwing an event like that is quite honestly, it’s, it’s just STRESSFUL. It’s a lot of WORK, it’s a lot of MONEY output, and sometimes those moments of, “Oh my God, is anybody going to show up?” And so for three years I posted an event the way that I watched other people host events. This year, I changed it up and came away with some BIG LESSONS I share on this episode. This year I was really challenged by my coach to do it in a way that feels right, to not be so black or white in my thinking, but to really do it in a way that SPEAKS TO MY SOUL. So I share my story of this year’s event. What in your life, or your business or your relationship, are you doing in a way that you should consider changing? Can you do things in a way that speaks more to your soul? How in your life can you live a life that is congruent to who you are? How in your business can you THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX and not do it in a traditional way?Go ahead, you have my permission, BREAK THE RULES.Number two. Okay, you have to listen for lesson number two, because it’s an amazing story of MANIFESTATION in action.I’ve told this story many times already and IT GIVES ME CHILLS. The power of manifestation, the power of dreaming big, the power of prayer, the power of holding on to a dream and a vision. Even though you have no idea how anything is going to happen. As you’re saying, “YES!” to yourself. If you sit in your house and you don’t do anything to pursue and to go towards your dreams, nothing is going to happen. You have to say, “yes” to yourself. DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES. It is our job to take action because that is a “God moment,” how the universe works, how manifestation works.I’m just so thankful that my clients and God and the universe continue to give me these messages so I have content to bring you for this podcast. Thank you so much for listening. As always, it is such a ridiculous honor to hear the people who are even listening. I hope that you can learn something from these amazing lessons that I learned from the Front Seat Life event. For more about Jessica and her upcoming events, visit https://jessicabutts.comFollow her on Instagram @frontseatlife for daily motivation. Not sure what your Myers Briggs personality type is? I am in bed. I AM SICK. So, today’s episode will be a short episode, and, ironically, this is what I wanted to talk to you about today, and then this is happening.I am now being rested by the Universe. I did not rest enough after the Front Seat Life event. This event is the culmination of a TON OF WORK, from both myself and my team. I purposely scheduled a couple of days of downtime after the event, one day for myself and I brought the team for another. But I think what I didn’t do was rest enough in my own home. And now I am not feeling well.I am now in bed doing a podcast episode and contemplating, but not feeling surprised. Like me, a lot of you are very type “A.” You’re very driven, and we push, and we push, and sometimes it’s hard for us to rest, especially as entrepreneurial spirits. We are excited about what we’ve done. We want to celebrate it, but we also are onto the next thing. I’ll be honest, I’ve started to realize the importance of this 80/20 rule. As you may have remembered that we want in general as human beings, we want to try to spend 80% of our time in our Front Seat. But the question always begs, what about the other 20%? What does that mean? And I have learned through the years that if we’re in our Front Seat 80% of the time, well, we have to be somewhere else the other 20%, and it’s best not to be doing stuff we suck at, or even worse, as the baby in the back seat.We should ideally be resting. Turning off the social media, checking out, not working. So, my community came up with that new word, “soulfish.” Taking time away to replenish your soul, being selfish so that you can then be of service to other people to take that time off so that it’s proactive so that you can come back and 80% of the time then being your best self. And I really, really feel like this is a mindset shift. It is for me, and I’ve been teaching this shit for like 20 years!Take a little time today, kick back, and take care of yourself. Rest and listen to this episode or read a book. Go for a walk. We cannot be everything to everybody. If we do not rest, the universe is going to rest us.I am excited to you next week, WELL-RESTED. Thank you so much for listening. I would love to hear from you guys over on iTunes about what you might be doing to implement this 80/20 Rule of Rest into your life. Are you freakin’ stuck?!Do you feel like you aren’t living up to your full potential – but you don’t know what the next step is? Are you TERRIFIED to step into your destiny, feeling stuck in your internal bullsh*t? Do you feel like you’re stretched soooo thin that you can’t deal with that voice inside that tells you that you are meant for MORE?What if you were so fed up with your own crap – that you finally took action? What if you said YES? What if you just went for it?Isn’t it time to say YES to YOU? (That’s a rhetorical question, ladies, because the answer is a resounding HELL YES)Dana Adams is the founder of the Life Mapping Institute, author of the book “Live Your Gift” and it’s amazing companion guide. She did the THING, she’s living her GIFT, and she wants to teach you how to do it, too. What amazing things are you carrying around in your gut, your soul, your head? What are you driven to give to the WORLD? Learn more about how to commit to what sets your soul on fire. Learn how to push through resistance and DO IT ANYWAY. Did you hear that? DO. IT. ANYWAY.What would you say if tomorrow, God asked you, “Did you use all the gifts that I gave you?” Dana asked herself this question after attending her first Front Seat Life event and the rest is history. It wasn’t easy – but it was worth it. A single mother of 4 boys, a woman who was stifled by fear, and who was nervous to show up – she made herself PROUD and so can you.
Are you freakin’ stuck?!Do you feel like you aren’t living up to your full potential – but you don’t know what the next step is?
A repeat performance? That’s right, today’s episode is the first replay I have done in six months since I’ve launched this podcast and there are reasons for the repeat episode: it is the 4th of July and it’s also my birthday. There is also a lot going on in my life and in my business right now. We at Front Seat Life HQ are about to launch one of the most exciting times in our entire year, the Front Seat Life event. And we have been diligently working on new, exciting content for you that I have been learning as well. I never do anything that I don’t also ask you to do as an entrepreneur. I always have a coach. I am always learning and learning new tricks to grow my business just as I’m teaching you to grow your business. The next eight weeks, all through summer, all of July, all of August and into September are going to be about the success path that I have learned about getting out your message and creating a successful business. So, as we go into the next eight weeks, I thought this was the perfect replay episode. I think even if you’ve already listened to it, I would encourage you to listen to it again. And if it’s new for you, I would very much encourage you to listen to this because as we go into summer, there will be resistance as we go into me teaching you about these eight steps and the success path and some of the things that I have just curated over the many years of doing this. You’re going to have some resistance. And this episode about your purpose and your passion and resistance is a perfect tee up for where we’re going the next eight weeks.I cannot wait to see you in the coming weeks. Enjoy the episode!Determination, passion, purpose, mindset… and not living five minutes in front of your face. My special guest Mandi Ann and I talk candidly about what it took her to find the ideal path for her journey. A path which delivered so much passion and purpose, she became determined to write her new book and grow her business, despite the resistance which showed up.We discuss how this devil (resistance) is always showing up, at every level of your journey… new level, new devil! But, if you can find ways to maintain your determination and focus, you can continue to move forward and upward.Revealing some of the common stumbling blocks, we go deep into the importance of setting boundaries to maintain a laser-like focus. Setting boundaries and prioritizing almost becomes easier when you have decided on your path. Mandi says, “I truly do think that when you find that purpose, that passion, you will set those boundaries and you just do anything.”And to continue to “do anything” can be really friggin’ hard when that damn devil keeps showing up with another challenge or roadblock. Mandi Ann and I tell some stories about the tough conversations we’ve had while setting boundaries, and I also let out of the bag my secret “dream job.”Listen to this golden nugget-filled conversation, take the time and make the moment to get quiet, to settle down, to allow yourself to be open to possibilities. Who are you, where are you going, and how are you going to get there? These words came from when I was in graduate school. We were given some homework that summer before we started, and I read this book and it had those three lines in that book. Who are you, where are you going and how are you going to get there? And I specifically remember where I was. I lived in Issaquah, Washington at the time and I was at a park. It was a gorgeous sunny afternoon and I was reading at the park and at that moment I just had an epiphany, a light bulb kind of moment, a sad moment.Front Seat Lifers, I have been taking you on a journey. For the past several months we have been focusing on who you are and how you show up in the world. And understanding the personality types of those around you, and how they are showing up and how this impacts your relationships. That first question of “Who are you?” is so important, along with understanding your family of origin, your traumas, your personality type, and your core values. These things in our lives that don’t change and then the things that we can work on in relationships with other people. And it all comes down to really being the best version of ourselves. Being in our Front Seat, living our lives from the Front Seat and then showing up and being unapologetically who we are.And once we have a pretty good idea to this “Who are you?” question, we can begin to try to answer another whopper. So today marks a big day, a big day because we are transitioning from the “Who are you?” into the second question, which is “Where are you going?”That day in the park was a pivotal moment in my life. I was in my mid-thirties and I didn’t know who I was. I had lost myself in my marriage, lost myself in my career. I had lost my identity or maybe I never found it. And I sat there not only trying to figure out who I was but trying to answer this question, “Where was I going?” I started for the first time in my life to have a clear direction. I had signed up for graduate school. I had quit my job. I knew some about where I was going, but quite honestly, I was somewhat living about two or three months in front of my face. I didn’t necessarily have a long-term vision yet. With today’s episode, we will begin to explore this tough question and I will help you begin to find clarity in your path. Once we have the vision, we will begin to fill in the necessary steps to get there, but this is the start. I want people to quit settling and start thriving. It makes me so sad when I watch people settle, to not have a plan, to not have any idea where they’re going in their life. Because here’s a fact. This is a fact. If you do nothing different, you can expect the same exact results. Those visions that I had starting back then on that park bench are now happening and yes, it might take 10 years, it might take five years. Sometimes it takes five days or five months. That’s the part that I know that we are not in control over, but what we are in control over is what we do about it. And until you know the “why,” which is this vision for your life, all that stuff, you’re not going to do it.That is the importance of what we’re going to talk about today, and as we go forward. I hope today’s episode is inspirational for you, motivational, and I hope that you will go on this journey with me.If you want this summer to be a defining summer of your life, don’t let this summer go by like all the others and just waste it away. Any couples out there that are looking for better communication, really starting to understand each other’s personality types, your energy, how you make decisions, all the miscommunications… then this episode is for you.About six years ago I started this crazy process of starting this business called Front Seat Life and with the tag line “Be Unapologetically Who You Are in Your Life, Love and Business. I’ve been doing the life portion for about six or seven years. I have been doing the business portion for about four to five years and now I am taking all this information and putting it to use for relationships. And today’s episode is a recording of a webinar that I put together a couple of weeks ago.As a couple’s therapist, and as the work that I have done for all these years about figuring out who we are in this world, it must start with us. We really must learn how to put our own oxygen mask on first. I often see couples blaming their partner and pointing fingers, “You’re not doing this” and “You’re not doing that.” This was always amazing to me. They don’t know what to ask for. They don’t know how to ask for, or what they want, because they don’t know what they want because they don’t know who they are.So the first step of that is figuring out who you are, and to do that I love to use my favorite tool, the best tool I’ve ever found. And that is understanding your Myers-Briggs personality type. Once you know who you are, how you are showing up in the world and can recognize how your partner is showing up, an amazing thing happens. Clarity. It all becomes clear as to why someone says something or behaves a certain way, it’s just who they are.During this webinar I also talk about one of the interesting things we do, we oftentimes don’t show up as who we are. We suppress ourselves and we hide because we’re embarrassed, or we’re scared to get hurt. So, we suppress this part of us. We don’t show up fully who we are and end up pulling away from our partner. This is when it becomes critical to be open, be honest, and be who we really are. I reveal some important tools you can use to help with this important step and share some stories from different perspectives and outcomes. I also share why we tend to fall for our opposite, why this can cause challenges later in our relationships, and why this can be a good thing if you can figure out this “being yourself” piece while communicating effectively with your partner.I also mention the ‘ladder of inference’ where our made-up stories can get us into trouble. And we all do this! But, don’t worry, it’s a fairly easy problem to solve and I give you some tips on how you can head off your troubles at the pass.Enjoy today’s episode which is absolutely jam-packed and filled with information that I know will enhance your relationship. And it is just my absolute pleasure to be able to give you this content to hopefully enhance the love and acceptance in your relationship and joy.As always, thank you for listening, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.To find out more about Jessica visit https://jessicabutts.com/.Follow her on Instagram @frontseatlife for daily motivation. To learn more about the new Front Seat Love Online Course for Couples, go to: http://www.frontseatlove.com.Not sure what your Myers Briggs personality type is?
