Ninh Binh stands out in more ways than one if you set your compass to the north of Vietnam. Located 60 miles south of Hanoi lies this magical, almost mystical province featuring mountainous peaks and a labrynth of waterways inviting you to explore its many viewpoints. Sharp limestone peaks, shoot up from the ground reminiscent of what you might see doing the same thing out of water, in Halong bay. Which explains why they often refer to it as the Ha Long Bay on land. It is by all accounts Halong Bay's mystical rival.My guest, Jack Taylor joins me on the show. His talents lie in the skilful way he has captured the essence of the region in his videos. Jack, an English teacher by profession has been travelling and living abroad for most of his adult life. Spain for 3 years, China for 4, and now Thailand for 4 years has meant Jack has had a front row seat to some of SE Asia's treasures. Don't forget to check out his You Tube channel “I go cool places”. As you will see in Jack's video of Ninh Binh the outstanding beauty and serenity are breathtaking. Add to that a National park featuring a staggering amount of wildlife, and many pagodas including one of the biggest being the Bai Dinh Pagoda. You can easily get a sense of why some people think it has more to offer than Halong Bay. It is important to note that the Bai Dinh pagoda is considered a masterpiece of both nature and heritage, and it is the pride of Vietnamese people in terms of its quintessential architecture, culture and historical value. And, it's NOT the major drawcard for the area. Jack does a great job in giving us some handy tips for staying in the region, what are the best times to visit and some of “The Must Do” things. Στο Yining και Yanging είμαστε ο Άγγελος και ο Πάνος. Οι εβδομαδιαίες συνομιλίες μας στο skype κάνουν κάθε φορά και τους δυο μας σοφότερους οπότε πρώτα αποφασίσαμε να τις καταγράψουμε και μετά να τις ανεβάσουμε εδώ. Σαν να είναι μια ραδιοφωνική εκπομπή που έρχεται να προσδώσει μια νέα προσέγγιση στον χώρο, με θέματα που ίσως τελικά μας βοηθούν όλους περισσότερο σε σχέση με τα συνηθισμένα. Στην 13η δημοσιευμένη συνομιλία μεταξύ άλλων μιλήσαμε για τις γενικές εντυπώσεις του Αγγέλου από το ταξίδι στο Βιετνάμ μετα την επιστροφή. Το πόσο μεγαλειώδης ήταν η εμπειρία στη Halong Βay που αποτελούσε όνειρο ετών. Για τα τεράστια και πάμπολλα πλεονεκτήματα να ταξιδεύεις μόνος ειδικότερα εκτος Ευρώπης, το Mindful Exploration, την προτίμηση να βρίσκεσαι σε απομακρυσμένα αγνά μέρη ανεξερεύνητα από τουρίστες, το να είσαι ανοιχτός και άλλα. Επίσης, θα μπορούσαμε να δούμε την επένδυση χρήματος με ένα διαφορετικό τρόπο. Λαμβάνοντας υπ΄όψην ότι το χρήμα ειναι ένα μέσον και όχι ο σκοπός διακρίναμε τη ματαιότητα των τυπικών επενδύσεων σε προιόντα και υποπροιόντα χρήματος που δεν αντιπροσωπεύουν τίποτα πραγματικό σε σχέση με την επένδυση σε εμπειρίες και βιώματα που σε διαμορφώνουν και σε εμπλουτίζουν για πάντα. Ξεκινήσαμε μια ανάλυση στο μεγαλειώδες Ταο Τε Τσινγκ που θα συνεχιστεί και στις επόμενες συνομιλίες. Με αφορμή αυτό μιλήσαμε για το πόσο προβλέψιμη είναι η γνώμη πολλών όταν γνωρίζεις τη συνομοταξία που ανήκει, τον περιορισμό που μας δημιουργούν οι ταμπέλες, το μεγάλο μπλέξιμο στο ρόλο των φύλων και στις αδιανόητες συνέπειες που αναμένονται να προκληθούν από αυτό στο μέλλον. Ακόμα για τον φρούδο εντυπωσιασμό που προσπαθούν οι περισσότεροι να προκαλέσουν στους άλλους που δυστυχώς συνήθως αποδεικνύει την ύπαρξη της ακριβώς αντίθετης πραγματικότητας στις ζωές τους αλλά και στην έλλειψη αυθεντικότητας που είναι και ο τρόπος να φανεί το πραγματικό φως κάθε ανθρώπου. Και, όπως πάντα, πολλά πολλά άλλα θέματα.

41e épisode : Le poète de la grotte Nous finissons notre périple asiatique à Ninh Binh au Vietnam, la “baie d’Halong terrestre”… Un poète local nous a mené à travers...

Este mes nos vamos a Vietnam. Vamos a intentar ir más allá de los arrozales, la postal de la Bahía de Halong, las guerras del siglo pasado o las calles tomadas por las motocicletas. Nos internaremos en el corazón del Sudeste Asiático a través del relato de un gran viajero y contador de historias, José Miguel Redondo, responsable del blog que muchos ya conoceréis El Rincón de Sele. Vamos a viajar también a través de la palabra. La escritora, viajera y cooperante Marta Sarramián nos presenta su última novela, “Tierra”, de la Editorial Casiopea, en la que una isla paradisíaca en Panamá se convertirá en el escenario de una historia vivida en primera persona. Y para los que os estéis planteando dar rienda suelta a vuestro talento literario, hablaremos de la Escuela Billar de Letras y del curso de Escritura de Viajes que nos propone su director, Ronaldo Menéndez.

“Todavía mueren mil personas al año en Camboya por las minas antipersona” Las cicatrices de la guerra siguen abiertas en forma de mina anti persona en Camboya. Un país, junto con Vietnam, en el que se puede palpar la huella que ha dejado su historia más reciente. Por estos dos países, el periodista y guía de viajes Xabier Bañuelos ha acompañado a un grupo de personas durante un mes. Con él hablamos a su regreso a Bilbao en Piedra de Toque para que nos descubriera estos rincones. En la entrevista encontraréis las ciudades que seleccionó para su viaje. “El sudeste asiático tiene gente maravillosa. Lo que más me impresiona de Vietnam es cómo sonríen con todo lo que han padecido tanto en el siglo XX como en siglos anteriores. A pesar de ser un pueblo con unas tasas tan altas de sufrimiento, te acoge con una alegría tremenda. En sus ojos se ve alegría. Han pasado página, miran al futuro con pasión” Xabier Bañuelos es viajero y guía profesional por más de 13 países por el mundo. “Para mí viajar es vivir”. Este verano ha guiado por dos países: Tanzania a lo largo de todo el mes de julio y después Vietnam de note a sur y una pequeña incursión a Camboya. Vietnam cautiva más que por sus paisajes y su historia, por su gente. Indochina, todo el sudeste asiático, tiene gente maravillosa. Hay un eslogan turístico que dice que Vietnam es el país de las sonrisas. Nunca mejor dicho. Su gente ha pasado una historia cruel: la guerra civil entre el norte y el sur capitaneada por los Estados Unidos y a lo largo de toda su historia anterior ha tenido que luchar siempre por su libertad. Sin embargo, en sus ojos se ve vida y alegría. Han decidido pasar página. La mezcla entre el ajetreo de las capitales con la tranquilidad de la cultura budista, lo convierten en destinos con magia. Pero no todo es alegría. “Fruto de esas tormentas vienen los lodos, siendo Camboya el país con más minas antipersonal del mundo”. Escuchábamos en el programa la música de grupos tradicionales compuestos por mutilados de las minas antipersona. Todavía hoy entre 500 y mil personas al año mueren por el efecto de las minas. A pesar de todo, es un país que sonríe y acoge. El recorrido que nos propone Xabier: Hanoi (barrio colonial, barrio viejo, lago de Hoan Kiem, templos de Ngoc Soc y mercado de Dun Xuan...), Mai Chau (thai blancos y h'mong negros, arrozales, montañlas, selvas...). La Bahía de Halong (increíble, con leyendas y paisajes inigualables), visitas por la ciudad (Mausoleo de Ho Chi Min, Templo de la Literatura, Museo Etnográfico...) y escapada a Tam Coc (la Halong del interior, cuevas y navegación fluvial) y a Hoa Lu (antigua capital y tumabas reales). Después en tren hasta Hué, Danang y Hoi An, seguimos hasta el delta del Mekong, Saigón y la frontera, para remontar el Mekong hasta Phnom Penh, la capital de Camboya y, de ahí, de nuevo en barco hasta Siem Reap y el flipe de los templos de Angkor, el complejo religioso más grande del planeta.
