This has inspired her to travel the world starting with the 54 countries that have an ICC ranking for women's cricket. Following crunch talks in the United Arab Emirates, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi tells Alison Mitchell that there is still hope of holding the Asia Cup in Pakistan. The location of the Asia Cup has been in doubt for some time. Pakistan are due to host the tournament in September, but last year the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jay Shah said that it would need to be held in a neutral venue, stating “we can't go there and they can't come here.” Sethi says he has presented a hybrid model to Asian Cricket Council members, which guarantees that India would not need to play any matches in Pakistan with even the final being played in a neutral venue. Sethi says that if an agreement cannot be reached there is “a very distinct possibility” that Pakistan's government will prevent the national team from travelling to India for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in October. Sethi, who is currently chairman on an interim basis, says he expects to continue in the role for a three-year term and one of his plans is to launch a women's league. He says he's already in the process of sanctioning almost one billion rupees for the development of women's cricket in Pakistan. Also on Stumped, Jim Maxwell and Sunil Gupta pay tribute to the careers of England's Katherine Sciver-Brunt and South Africa's Shabnim Ismail, as the fast bowlers both announced their retirement from international cricket. Plus, we're re-joined by former cricket journalist Jenny Thompson, who is travelling around the world to experience women's cricket in as many different countries as she can. Since we last spoke with her in March, she has ticked off Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea and Papua New Guinea.
The Women's Premier League is finally underway. Sunil Gupta tells us what it is like in India, the stand out stars and the team discuss the tournament so far. Plus will the final Test match between India and Australia is underway. Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was in attendance alongside India's prime minister Narendra Modi who took part in a series of events before the Test. The team debate the pageantry and whether the World Test Championship is making Test Matches shorter. And we are joined by Jenny Thompson who is a former cricket writer and currently lives in Adelaide. She is about to begin a mammoth journey across the world to experience the impact women's cricket is making in many different countries around the world and the lessons we can all learn. In 2019, Waldorf education marked its 100th anniversary. But you might be wondering for any teaching philosophy, not just Waldorf, that has deeper roots, how do we educate today's student? Well, much of what a Waldorf school teaches is how to learn. How to be in the world, even. How to “see” one another. This includes teaching students how to resolve conflict. In the classroom, Waldorf teachers are already teaching students how everything we do affects one another. We also have the luxury of pulling from more than 100 years worth of insights into child development in refining a conflict resolution system that continuously meets the students where they are. On this podcast episode, you will hear from our school counselor, Jenny Thompson, along with our Restorative Practices Committee to talk more on the model we use, which also has roots in ancient and indigenous restorative practices.

Jenny Thompson - Why growing your own vegetables is our greatest well-being toolWhen I first read the ‘Blue Zones: 9 Lessons For Living Longer, by People Who Have Lived the Longest'' by Dan Buettner, which explores the pockets of people who live the longest, healthy and thriving lives, I noticed a trend. Many of these healthy outliers, who were fit as fiddles into their 90's and beyond all grew their own vegetables. This observation sat in my mind for years, until I met with Nick Littlehales, the world's leading sleep coach.. Nick, who will also appear on the podcast, and I started to talk about the benefits of natural daylight on the body. This was followed by a workshop with our ongoing self-development community the MBG with the chairman of the UK's forest bathing committee Gary Evans, who explained the almost unbelievable health benefits of time spent in nature. Next, I reflected on my podcast chat with Dr Alan Desmond in the first episode, who explored the science and benefits behind plant-based nutrition. Then, finally, the penny dropped.Growing your own fruit and veg could be one of the best activities that we could all possibly partake in. And that's exactly what Jenny and I will explore in this episode. Jenny's Instagram, The_Organic_Allotment_Girl is one of my favourites. Jenny's posts inspire me every day and she has such a great story that I can't wait to share it with you all.You will love this chat, and I am positive you might even be tempted to take part in the latest wellbeing craze and grow your own. Alright Let's do this.

PODCAST RECOMMENDATION This week I want to share with you a podcast called Saved by the City. I found this podcast through following Katelyn Beaty and her book called A Woman’s Place: The surprising truth about why God intends every woman to work. In the podcast Katelyn is joined by her co host Roxy Stone to chat about various topics from fashion to dating to shattering the glass ceilings. Roxy and Katelyn grew up in the white evangelical American heartland. Both were warned moving to a supposed bastion of secular culture would be dangerous to their faith. While navigating a city where people sleep in on Sunday mornings and the chaste motto “true love waits” isn’t a thing, the two have found a renewed, vibrant faith that has been both strengthened and stretched in the metropolis. Proud and loving dog owner, Jenny had a shocking experience when the pet sitter she hired off Craigslist stole money and faked her own death. Realizing other people were having the same experiences (and worse!) when hiring dog walkers, babysitters, and handymen, or using home sharing and ride-sharing companies, she developed the idea for SafetyPIN Technologies. After consulting with experts in technology and criminal behavior and profiling, she began to pull the pieces together. She then left her career of 20 years as a CEO for a health and wellness company to bring her idea to life. I wanted to find out more about the story behind SafetyPIN Technologies and the new universal trust badge that's been approved by the former White House security chief and forensic profilers. Jenny Thompson joins me on my daily tech podcast to share her startup story. We also talk about her mission to transform the security level of the sharing economy, which included a unique behavioral review that is proving to be unmatched. Jenny Thompson is a mission-driven startup executive, author, and natural-born marketer who has documented success in building brands from scratch and driving measurable growth to benefit shareholders, employees, and customers alike. Today, as Founder of SafetyPIN Technologies, Jenny has developed an innovative background check methodology that offers a universal trust badge for approved applicants, verifying peace of mind for the national sharing economy. Prior to SafetyPIN, Jenny spent more than two decades supporting the Agora Companies, including her role as CEO of NewMarket Health. During that time, she grew the company from $2 million to $70 million, oversaw the migration of the company's digital marketing transformation, and was responsible for 14 brands. Jenny is also the noteworthy creator of the 3-Day Business Cleanse, a novel process that helps companies get "unstuck" using a review, eliminate, and rebuild philosophy.

In 1996, Jenny Thompson made one of the most important decisions of her life: To leave her Dilbertian job and answer an ad in the Baltimore Sun (That’s an actual ad in an actual print newspaper!) for a marketing manager. Soon after, she joined the team at Agora Inc. where she began her career with the company at The Oxford Club. In her first year there, she tripled profits. On the heels of that success, the owners asked her to take over the fledging health business. After just 10 months in that role, she increased the bottom line 500%. Over the next 2 decades, Jenny introduced over a dozen newsletters, launched 4 supplement lines, and acquired a skincare company. At its peak, her business marketed 18 newsletters, more than 70 dietary supplements, and 8 skincare products to more than 1.2 million customers and prospects around the world, averaging 18% growth annually during her tenure. In 2016, with the business projected to hit $70 million, Jenny made the decision to let the next generation take over and go out on her own. After 6 months consulting in the same market, she decided she wanted something “newer.” So, knowing nothing about technology, Jenny focused all her energy on a new software startup. SafetyPIN created a virtual trust badge that’s designed to make the internet a safer place for all of us. With SafetyPIN holders currently in 39 states, Jenny is working to build awareness and make “Do you have a SafetyPIN?” part of every conversation in the sharing economy. *** Connect to Lou Diamond: www.loudiamond.net Subscribe to Thrive LOUD: www.thriveloud.com/podcast

How is it that oral cultures, that didn't rely on writing, could memorise and accurately hand down vast amounts of information and knowledge for millennia? Garminungeena, Jenny Thompson, talks about the importance and sacredness of song in Aboriginal culture; and demonstrates how deep emotions expressed through mournful wailing and singing, and the practice of deep listening to others and to Nature, can help in healing personal and planetary pain. Garmi concludes the final part of her podcast with a message from the heart that it is time for all of us to "weave in a new Dreaming". The other parts of Garminungeena's podcast are: Part 1 - "It's Time"; Part 2 - Women's Business, Family and Seven Sisters; and Part 3 - "Get on to your Dreaming Track". See also Songlines website for more info on each episode (currently being updated).
In this part 3 (of 4) of Garminungeena, Jenny Thompson’s chat with me, Garmi recounts the traditional Dreaming story of Nungeena, and discusses how healing groundwaters underlie some song- and ley lines. We also discuss the connection to land, and how the individual energy or spirit of a place can be felt even if you’ve never been there before.
https://www.youtube.com/user/WrightStateU Future Wright State students were greeted with smiles, handshakes, back pats and congratulatory fist bumps. There were snacks, music, balloons and souvenir photos. And the students walked away with gold-stickered certificates making them official Raiders. Hundreds of incoming freshmen crowded into the Student Union on May 1 for Wright State’s second Signing Day. The Student Union Apollo Room teemed with new students, many of them taking selfies to record the milestone in their lives and post on social media. Colleges, clubs and departments staffed information tables. College deans floated around the room, interacting with students and parents. “We are excited to welcome all of our future Raiders to campus,” said Jen McCamis, director of undergraduate admissions. “It’s a great opportunity for students to sign the letter to just feel empowered to make that decision.” Incoming student Jenny Thompson, originally from Florida, plans to major in nursing. “I am excited to sign to Wright State and I’m officially a Raider now,” she said. In this part 2 (of 4), Garminungeena, Jenny Thompson, tells us about the land acquisition for the Nungeena Aboriginal Corporation, and talks about the importance of women’s business and family. Garmi also recounts the Dreaming story of three of the sacred mountains now known as the Glass House Mountains, and talks about the Seven Sisters songline.
