About The New Couple in 5B Rosie and Chad Lowan are barely making ends meet in New York City when they receive life-changing news: Chad's late uncle has left them his luxury apartment at the historic Windermere in glamorous Murray Hill. With its prewar elegance and impeccably uniformed doorman, the building is the epitome of old New York charm. One would almost never suspect the dark history lurking behind its perfectly maintained facade. At first, the building and its eclectic tenants couldn't feel more welcoming. But as the Lowans settle into their new home, Rosie starts to suspect that there's more to the Windermere than meets the eye. Why is the doorman ever-present? Why are there cameras everywhere? And why have so many gruesome crimes occurred there throughout the years? When one of the neighbors turns up dead, Rosie must get to the truth about the Windermere before she, too, falls under its dangerous spell. With echoes of “Rosemary's Baby” and Hitchcock's “Rear Window,” THE NEW COUPLE IN 5B is a chilling warning that even the place you think of as home may be built on dark secrets and lies About Lisa Unger LISA UNGER is a New York Times and internationally bestselling author of twenty novels, including Confessions on the 7:45 and Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six. Today I'm talking to Lisa Unger - an emotional and eating disorder specialist and a level 2, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner. Lisa has been on her own healing journey and spent years trapped in a cycle of bingeing and restrictive dieting, leading to self-loathing and unhappiness. She found a path to recovery by combining various techniques with her innate strength and resilience. Today, Lisa embraces all foods without restriction and is no longer ashamed of her body. Using her skills in nutrition and psychology, Lisa now dedicates herself to empowering emotional eaters and those battling eating disorders to make long term changes to the way they think about food and themselves. With her support Lisa gives them the freedom to regain control of their lives. Lisa has found EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to be a transformative tool for many of her clients in reducing anxiety and enhancing their overall well-being during their recovery journey. It is a technique that can be used in social settings as well which so many of her clients have found to be invaluable. In the episode today, Lisa talks about her own healing journey and does a deep dive into EFT. What is it? How can we learn it? How can it help? Then, she explores the integration of EFT, as a strategy for managing anxiety and promoting healing in eating disorder recovery. Lisa brings some real practical examples of how to use EFT, showing how it can be such a valuable healing skill to add to your toolbox. I hope that you enjoy the conversation. Bestselling author Lisa Unger joins BOOKSTORM to discuss Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six, her newest thriller! An isolated cabin. A storm. A stranger ... and a family that's about to be confronted with long-held secrets. Wow! We love talking about family trauma, and coping when a family falls apart. And this discussion delivers! We examine isolation, and the necessity of pulling away from the distractions and pressures of everyday life in order to focus on something we've long avoided confronting. What happens when you have a niggling worry about a family member? Have you brushed away doubts about someone close to you? And what is it about being in a pressing situation that forces us to confront deep-seated emotional issues? We talk about DNA testing, and the can of worms those kits could unleash. And then we dive even deeper. We talk about darkness in people. Is wrongdoing by nature ... or nurture ... or a little of both? What keeps you in check morally, legally, or ethically? We cover it all in this lively discussion with Lisa! Join us for this thrill ride!

For today's episode I got to sit down with Chelsea Hoffman and Yolanda Skeete, founders of Thrillers by the Book Club. I can tell you from personal experience that both of these women are sweet and kind in real life, but they have an affinity for, as Chelsea calls it, murder-y books. They found each other online and formed a book club, which has morphed into a real-life book group with 27 chapters around the world. I asked them to join me for a Thriller-Palooza, because I wanted the lowdown on the best of the best in the world of thrillers, and holy moly, did these ladies ever deliver.
