Are the remaining giants in the UEFA Women's Champions League starting to show some weaknesses? Dino and Grant take a look at two VERY interesting match results from the last week. First, Grant's Sky Blues scored a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Kingsmeadow, where MCFC Goalkeeper Khiara Keating put in another phenomenal performance. City is now level on points with Chelsea at the top of the WSL table, giving Emma Hayes' squad another thing to worry about as they try to win that elusive Champions League trophy before she heads to the USA. Next, Dino broke down some concerning issues from juggernaut Barcelona in their Liga F match vs Levante, which saw the perennial Champions draw third-place Levante on the strength of an Alba Redondo goal. Could there be some cracks developing in Barcelona? Baru bukaan penjualan tiket buat laga perpisahan Christine Sinclair, kurang dari satu hari laga Kanada vs Australia telah habis terjual. The Matildas sejak akhir tahun lalu berhasil memenangkan hati kita semua. Setuju? The USA Soccercast recaps the USWNT's October window on Episode 119. The October window was a bit of a struggle for the USWNT, as they played Colombia in two friendlies last weekend. The first match was a scoreless stalemate, with the USWNT looking like they had not attempted to change anything from what we had seen this year leading into the Women's World Cup. In the second friendly, the first half repeated some of those failed tactics and personnel decisions. However, with the substitution of a couple of the new young players at halftime, the dynamic changed. We discuss how Mia Fishel and Jaedyn Shaw should prompt a hard review of the program and should renew the desire by many to integrate the youth into the fabric of this team to make it theirs, especially with the W Gold Cup and the Olympics approaching in 2024. After the break, the USWNT head coaching search could be near its end, and U.S. Soccer appears to be down to three finalists: Australia head coach Tony Gustavsson, Juventus head coach Joe Montemurro, and OL Reign FC head coach Laura Harvey. We discuss what some of the pros and cons are with these coaches, as well as what the priorities should be for the program with the hiring of the next head coach. Katie Stengel sedari dulu memang underrated, sungguh. Another USWNT roster dropped so you know what that means, so did plenty the racismo. We tired y'all. But before Courtney & André deal with that they chat about recent highlights of the international tournaments that wrapped up, why we so desperately need a Club World Cup and how it might work, discuss NWSL transfers and wonder what's going on in NCC, plus they touch on the weirdness and deep concern about the nature of Kris Ward's dismissal from the Washington Spirit. Then they dig into the USWNT roster, who's missing and why, plus Vlatko Andonovski's ill-advised quotes regarding Mia Fishel and Liga MX Femenil. We also discuss how, despite what he says, not everyone has the same pathway of good performances securing them an invite. We discuss what that signals to players from a fairness standpoint, but also how it prevents the USWNT from finding its true strongest XI. After that, we had to do it. The United States Women's National Team released its roster earlier Monday for the September international window, and on Episode 82 we welcome back Skye & Sylvs from the Shea Butter FC Podcast to break down the roster in detail! The 23-player roster is the same as from the Concacaf W Championship: GOALKEEPERS (3): Aubrey Kingsbury (Washington Spirit), Casey Murphy (North Carolina Courage), Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars) DEFENDERS (6): Alana Cook (OL Reign), Emily Fox (Racing Louisville FC), Naomi Girma (San Diego Wave FC), Sofia Huerta (OL Reign), Kelley O'Hara (Washington Spirit), Becky Sauerbrunn (Portland Thorns FC) MIDFIELDERS (7): Sam Coffey (Portland Thorns FC); Lindsey Horan (Olympique Lyon), Taylor Kornieck (San Diego Wave FC), Rose Lavelle (OL Reign), Kristie Mewis (NJ/NY Gotham FC), Ashley Sanchez (Washington Spirit), Andi Sullivan (Washington Spirit) FORWARDS (7): Ashley Hatch (Washington Spirit), Alex Morgan (San Diego Wave FC), Mallory Pugh (Chicago Red Stars), Midge Purce (NJ/NY Gotham FC), Megan Rapinoe (OL Reign), Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit), Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns FC) However, there was a notable omission from the roster in Mia Fishel, and Skye & Sylvs go into detail on fan confusion over the standards by which players are selected for the USWNT. As we approach friendlies, USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovski opted to continue with the roster he already had rather than bring in new talent for evaluation. There's also a frank discussion on whether the USWNT can stack up against teams like England, who they will play in London on October 7th before a sold out Wembley Stadium. In what will be a major test, will this USWNT roster be the one that can pass that test? We discuss tactics, player selection, how the USWNT matches up against Nigeria and England, and a whole lot more! Give the Shea Butter FC Podcast a follow on social media, as well as Skye & Sylvs for all the women's soccer analysis from an incredibly unique and needed perspective. Orlando City got its 2022 preseason underway with a pair of matches within the past week and neither the results nor the injury news was what Lions fans were looking for. The club dropped its opener to Minnesota United — or was it the Chicago Fire? Nah, we're pretty sure it was the Loons — last Thursday and then fell 1-0 to FC Dallas on Saturday. The latter match had the added angst of seeing new Designated Player striker Ercan Kara helped off the field and unable to put any weight on one of his legs. The news wasn't dire on Monday, however, as the club announced that Kara is day to day with an ankle sprain. We don't know the severity or how much time he'll miss but it wasn't an ideal start to his time with Orlando City. Hopefully he's a quick healer and the injury wasn't as bad as it looked to those in attendance. Speaking of attendance, we hope to see you out at Orlando's next preseason match this Friday against Colorado. Facundo Torres arrived in town and there was a hot rumor to dissect to wrap up our coverage of the Lions this week. The Pride have their schedule and their group for the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. Get ready for three home matches in the competition and hopefully Amanda Cromwell's side will surprise some folks and make the knockout stages this year. Cromwell teased an attacker signing this week so we'll be on the lookout for eyeball emojis from Ian Fleming. We also discussed the last USMNT qualifer in the most recent window — a really stupidly scheduled match in sub-freezing temperatures that saw only two of the opponents subbed off due to hypothermia. Hey, at least the Yanks won, but they could have done that in a much nicer climate. This week's mailbag asked about athletes becoming the targets of fan ire and abuse, musical choice limitations for life, and whether the Pride have an advantage with fewer internationals this season. If there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 281 went down: 0:15 - Orlando City got a pretty big scare with Ercan Kara and hopefully he'll be back quickly. Also, hopefully the Lions will start winning games soon. It's just the preseason, but winning is always better than not. 14:15 - The Pride know who, where, and when they'll play in the NWSL Challenge Cup and the coach says the team might be getting some offensive help soon. That's good, because Mia Fishel is off to a great start at Tigres. 31:18 - Our mailbag wants to torture us by limiting us to one musical artist/album/song for the rest of our lives. That's just cruel. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

WE BACK!! In this episode Courtney & André discuss the overt anti-Blackness of cold weather, give shouts to Uchenna Kanu, Mia Fishel, and Deanne Rose. We also talk about PSG's dominant attacking trio not getting enough respect, the pic that made us dream of a USWNT attack, and give props to the Philippines cause the diaspora is far-reaching y'all! Then, in the wake of her induction into the Hall of Fame, Courtney talks about the importance of Shannon Boxx and how she revolutionized the way the position is played in America. We both chat about the NWSL's first CBA and give props to the people that made it happen. In Heated & Hyped we're still mad about the cold but are so damn hype for Mana Shim on a preseason roster!!! Guess what? We are FIDDY years old! That's right, this is Courtney & André's fiftieth episode and, if you're listening the day it drops, it is exactly one year since our first episode. It's been so much fun and we can't thank y'all enough, but in this pod we tried! We put out the call for questions and y'all responded with some BANGERS! We talk about the Washington Spirit situation (#PassThatThangToKang), Mia Fishel's move to Tigres and what it means for the NWSL, how Brighton would fare in the NWSL, how Gotham would fare in the WSL, CONCACAF Champions League and Club World Cup, the most interesting and most perplexing offseason moves, and LOTS more. But first, we had to start the episode by talking about Elmo. Please share, subscribe, rate and review – we appreciate y'all! Follow us: Twitter - @DiasporaUtdPod Instagram - diasporautdpod

The Mane Land: for Orlando City SC fans

Orlando City still has yet to replace three key departures in the attack — Daryl Dike, Nani, and Chris Mueller — but the Lions did retain Alexandre Pato. The Duck returns for 2022 and can hopefully stay healthy long enough to display some of his considerable talent as the club vies for a third consecutive playoff appearance. That might not happen without offensive reinforcements and the news has been light on that front. There have been some reports and a feeling that Facundo Torres isn't far from being announced, but that's only one corner of the triangle. Orlando has a lot of work to do and now that preseason is here, the window for integrating new players in time to make a difference once the regular season arrives is closing. The club also announced its preseason schedule, which is kind of meaningless if no one is allowed to attend, but that's beside the point. Scrimmages will be held behind closed doors and we'll just have to take whatever news we can get when it comes to that. The Orlando Pride have had a very cost-effective week. The Pride saw top draft pick Mia Fishel sign with Tigres in Mexico's top flight, so that'll save the team some money on not having to sign the No. 5 overall selection. Also, the Pride sent Taylor Kornieck and the rights to midfielder Emily van Egmond to San Diego for a nice chunk of allocation money. The Pride is flush with funds, and maybe the strategy is to distract the other team with cash while Sydney Leroux and Marta score goals? We're sure there will be players added to Amanda Cromwell's roster. Could be any minute. ...any minute now. ...just at any moment in time. Anyway, while we wait, we had time to answer this week's questions. This week's mailbag was curious to know what we were streaming these days, whether Orlando City has time to make some significant signings, whether the current roster is good enough to make the postseason, and more. If there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 278 went down: 0:15 - Orlando City has its Duck back but so far, not much else on the offensive end. 33:09 - The Pride keep bleeding players and are apparently trying to staunch that bleeding with allocation money. 50:51 - Mailbag time! Is Peacemaker any good? What are we watching now? And when will reinforcements arrive? We opine! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
