“KEY POINTS There are many benefits about single life to enjoy, starting with having the freedom to arrange one's life based on one's own priorities. People who are happily single cherish solitude and use it to restore their energy and pursue their passions. Happy single people often use their freedom to attend to the people in their lives who matter most.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support
EPSIODE 95 | Bodyguard of Lies: The Ghost Army & Wartime Deception More than 100 million soldiers took part in WWII, but not all of them were fighting with guns. There was obviously a lot of administration and infrastructure to deal with, there were codebreakers and spies, and there were even some who engaged in secret deception to trick the enemy. This episode is not abouts ghosts, but rather the Ghost Army. No, not a battalion of unstoppable undead like Aragorn brings with him against the forces of Mordor, but a dirty tricks tactical deception unit the Allies deployed in Europe near the end of the war to fool Axis commanders. Because, as the saying goes, all's fair in love and war. This episode is partly a cynical attempt to lure in military history fans, but these are also really interesting stories. And you might consider them to have been, in fact, conspiracies, ones that were successful, by and large. Like what we do? Many conservatives and free speech proponents are singing the praises of Elon Musk for “no longer censoring” on X (formerly known as Twitter). The reality is, however, that Musk and his WEF CEO Linda Yaccarino do not actually believe in Free Speech. During this interview with Bianca Gracia on 1440 Keys Radio, I explained the importance of having an actual free speech platform like what I'm building with pickax. The fact that Twitter has a policy called “Freedom of Speech, but Not Freedom of Reach” is extremely concerning. There are multiple ways that X is censoring free speech, including demonetization, shadow banning, downplaying outbound links and several more. I break it all down during this interview. This lecture was recorded on April 29, 2023, as part of the 2023 Asian American Theology Conference "Multiple Belongings in Transpacific Christianities: Christian Faith and Asian Migration to the US." Find out more about the conference here: https://pts.events/events/aat-2023-mbtc/. Introduction by Dr. Easten Law. Abstract: Migration is changing and revitalizing the religious and cultural landscape of the US. The mushrooming of places of worship by and for immigrants of every religious persuasion stands as an example of such a seismic change. The change of the US immigration laws in 1965 made it possible for Asian Indians to arrive in large numbers. Ethnic Asian Indian congregations formed by first-generation immigrants tried to recreate the worship experience of their home to find stability amid their disruptive and unsettling immigration experience. The second generation, who are born and raised in diasporic context, find the liturgy, worship, and preaching of first generation churches less suitable for their own spiritual experience and growth. The ongoing migration of Asian Indians to the US in parallel with the continued growth of the second generation results in a persistent tension between first and second generations as both generations seek fidelity to God with expressions of faith and worship that make sense for them. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ptscaac/message

Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.02.19.529148v1?rss=1 Authors: Kock, R. M. D., Ghosh, A. Abstract: There is considerable trial-to-trial variability in single cortical neurons when performing the same action repeatedly. One possibility is that neural populations are more stable in representing actions; alternatively, they too may be distinctly engaged from trial-to-trial. To address the nature of variability in large neural populations, we captured the EEG signals time-locked to repeated voluntary thumb flexion movements (~500 repetitions, 23 subjects). By using non-negative matrix factorization on the low-frequency sensorimotor cortical signals, we quantified the trial-to-trial motor-related potentials (MRPs) in terms of prototypical signals (meta-MRPs) and their corresponding prominence at each trial (meta-trials). Clustering the meta-MRPs across the sampled population revealed 5 distinct signal patterns. There were brain-wide correlates of these meta-MRP clusters. Cortical hemispheres were distinctly recruited from trial-to-trial as certain clusters were accompanied by bilateral motor negativity while others were characterized by ipsilateral motor negativity. The sensory feedback too was distinctly processed from trial-to-trial as the central post-movement positivity was present only for certain clusters. A poorly understood pre-motor positivity accompanied all clusters albeit varying in their timing from trial-to-trial. These patterns - including the time-varying positivity preceding the movement - were rendered invisible by the traditional averaging of the signals. We suggest that the variability in EEG signals is not just noise but a consequence of distinct activation patterns deployed by the cortex. We support the idea that the cortex flexibly switches between distinct forms of neural processing to achieve the same behavioral goals. Copy rights belong to original authors. How does one yoke the fire to obtain our wishes for ourselves and humanity? This question is the basis for filmmaker and yoga adept Emma Balnaves lifelong inquiry into Hatha Yoga. In this rich interview, Emma discusses the extensive traditional Hatha Yoga teachings, the differences between the Classical Patanjali System and her lineage. She was inspired to create her award winning film, AGNIYOGANA as a way to share the essence of these teachings and bring greater understanding to all aspects of the practice. Her film takes the viewer on a journey through time and space to rediscover the inner dimensions of Hatha Yoga and the true meaning of “yuj,”(yoga). AGNIYOGANA offers rarely seen glimpses of traditional Hatha Yoga practices as expressed by modern day yogins. The journey inward explores the key requirements of Hatha Yoga: Firmness of mind; the importance of faith; the necessity of a qualified teacher; skillful moderation; the methods to restrain the senses; and the practice of universal equanimity. Emma Balnaves is the producer and director of AGNIYOGANA and an internationally respected teacher of the traditional forms and philosophies of Hatha Yoga. She has been teaching yoga since 1998. She is also the author of three publications, “Nataraja – the Lord of Multiple Forms,” “Yoga for Women,” and “Seasonal Mandala”, and co-founder and director of Shadow Yoga (a form of classical Hatha Yoga) and Nṛtta Sādhanā. Emma resides in Adelaide, Australia with her husband and teaching partner, Shandor Remete. shadowyoga.com

Most people don't get into farming to get rich. Does that mean that you can't get rich farming, no it doesn't. But if you only motivation to farm is to get rich, then you better buckle up because you have rocky road ahead. Because when it comes to amassing monetary riches the road hasn't historically been paved by good soil and a tractor. That's not to say that there aren't rich farmers, because there are, but it's not the norm. If are getting into farming only for the money, to get rich, then you better think about how you are going to do that, and why you are going to do that. If money isn't your only motivator for getting into farming, then you better think about why you are getting into it, and how you are going to do it. Either way it won't be easy. But either way can make you rich, it all comes down to, how you define rich. Today's episode is a look beyond the bank account. It's a look at all of the other benefits and reasons to be an entrepreneur and to be farmer. This episode is us kicking around ideas and brainstorming to broaden the idea of what being rich, truly means. It's a definition that’s different for everyone. And it's one that you need to define when you get into this. Because if you define it, it makes it a lot easier to become rich, and if you don't then it makes it a lot easier to stay poor. As discussed in previous tips, closing the gap is super important if you want to score a technique on your opposition. There are many ways and methods to close the gap. Many of them involve sheer speed. In this episode I'm going to discuss two ways of closing the gap in a very sneaky manner so the opposition doesn't realise what is actually happening making scoring so much easier. The first way is very straightforward and no doubt you properly do it now, however understanding the second way in what I call "cutting back" will make you more sneaky in the sneakiest ninja... When it comes to competition fighting, to win we must use every available strategy available to us. It's great to be able to initiate an attack or do great counter-attacks but sometimes our opposition may have or may seem to have fantastic weapons. Or in other words there kicks and/or punches just seemed to be fantastic. So how do we deal with this? In this tip I explain how to pick a technique and destroy the oppositions willingness to use them no matter how good they are. These techniques are not easy to do and certainly take courage and heaps of practice but if you can master them is a fantastic way to gain the upper hand on someone that has good or great technique. In this tip I explained the way I separate multiple forms of training different arts. Or in other words how to switch from training karate then to ju-jitsu or even different styles of karate for example modern karate compared to traditional Goju. I have come across quite a few students that have trouble separating different arts and stopping one bleeding into the other.
