On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast. Puck starts off the show without Jim Moore, who is out sick, talking bout the Seahawks win and that without a doubt it was a signature win for Mike Macdonald. The Seahawks season was on the brink and they were able to pull off a great win on the road. Geno was great on the final drive and the defense looked like how we all thought Mike Macdonald's defense was going to look. Puck switched gears and talked about the Cougars loss to New Mexico and once again the defense continues to be an issue. Puck thinks a change needs to be made with their defensive coordinator and let Jake Dickert just call the defense for the final two games of the season. But, Puck could sense a loss was coming and it finally did. Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 join Jason “Puck” Puckett for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast brought to you by Georgetown Brewery. All three agree that was clearly the best win of the season and one of the best wins for the Seahawks in the last several years. The defense was no doubt the story from the game, but the performance of Geno Smith, especially on the final drive was quintessential the “Geno Smith Roller Coaster” experience! Offensive line looked better with Abe Lucas back and Olu Oluwatimi playing center. However, as the three discussed, the running game is still very much an issue. Devon Witherspoon was everywhere and just showed why he's such an unbelievable weapon for Macdonald. The play of Tyrice Knight and Ernest Jones was phenomenal and illustrated why a move at linebacker was necessary. All of sudden the Seahawks have a legitimate shot to claim first place in the division next week. Sports are dumb and terrific at the same time. Puck then returns and discusses the rest of the sports weekend with “Weekend Roundup.” The dud that was the Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight, however, the women's fight was incredible. Are the Steelers now a legit Super Bowl contender? Drew Lock can't catch a break and big deal the Bills beat the Chiefs. Prove it in the playoffs. Finally, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck goes back to the Seahawks. Sports are incredibly stupid and incredibly awesome at the same time. Most Seahawks fans and Puck included had written this team off, but they found a way to have a gutsy physical win. A win that could very well define Mike Macdonald and the rest of the season.

Mike Macdonald joins Brock and Salk to discuss what was different in yesterday's win, what they took away from their visit with the Navy SEALS, what he saw from Abe Lucas and Olu Oluwatimi in their first starts this season, how rookie LB Tyrice Knight did and why Geno Smith is so good with 2 minutes remaining.

Then, Seahawks O-lineman Olu Oluwatimi joins Brock and Salk to discuss his second training camp, whether he notices any Michigan/Harbaugh vibes in Mike Macdonald's system, what he's seen from O-line coach Scott Huff and what he has to say about Boye Mafe's accusations that he didn't invite him to his wedding. Plus, Brock answers three football questions in Blue 88.
Baseball is all about focus and it seems like this team has lost it. Salk says this will be Scott Servais' biggest challenge. Then, we discuss whether the M's current struggles change the objective for the trade deadline? Plus, Seahawks DT Jarran Reed joins us to discuss training camp getting underway with a new defensive scheme that he calls a secret weapon, what he sees out of rookie DT Byron Murphy, why Olu Oluwatimi can be the starting center. Plus, he gives us his best impression of DC Aden Durde's british accent.
It was just last year that the Seattle Seahawks drafted center Olu Oluwatimi in the 5th round after a decorated senior season at Michigan. After starting two games his rookie campaign in place of Evan Brown, he's been the first-team center all throughout OTA's and the presumed starter heading into the season. But the Seahawks interest in Connor Williams and the sneaky signing of another interesting UDFA rookie may indicate the team's desire to replace Olu with a different athletic profile. I'll discuss. Also, the Hawks got some outstanding news on the injury front and are hoping for more as Mike Macdonald gets set to address the media after today's opening training camp session. On the show today, we're looking for starting Centers and Tackles that could potentially transition to guard in this 2024 NFL Draft. Many Seahawks fans believe Olu Oluwatimi is ready to slide start at center but there will be some very intriguing center prospects that could cause Seattle to look for an upgrade. In regards to tackles, Seattle not only has their two starters in place at tackle, but have two backups locked in as well. And while it's unlikely they draft a tackle, they are looking for mobile offensive linemen, and one way to get more mobile inside is to transition a college tackle to guard. So on today's show, it's centers and tackles that can transition into guard. What is the argument for say the Bears with the ninth overall pick to prefer Broderick Jones over Paris Johnson, Jr.? 4. When looking at Darnell Wright's tape, did the ability he display against Will Anderson in that game show up consistently enough for you to spend a first-round pick on him? 5. What other attributes of Steve Avila's game, other than positional versatility, stood out to you on tape? 7. Why do you think John Michael Schmitz will probably be the top-ranked center on many (if not most) NFL draft boards? 8. Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land's I-70 podcast. On this show, we talk about all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference's games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan. The season is over and there is a lull between bowl games as teams get a week to prepare. The break is filled with awards as every conference and major media outlet announces their post-season awards. In this episode, Dante and Jordan discuss the various awards and All-American honors bestowed upon the best players in the Big Ten. Before the awards conversation, the guys discuss the major news in the Big Ten including updates on the coaching carousel. New Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell will have to hit the transfer portal for his future quarterback as current Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz entered his name into the portal. He may not struggle to find one after he hired Phil Longo, former University of North Carolina offensive coordinator, to the same role. Purdue needs a new coach as Jeff Brohm has been hired at his alma mater, Louisville with a seven-year $36 million contract. Lastly, Ohio State needs a new offensive coordinator as Kevin Wilson accepted a head coaching position at Tulsa. The expectation is they will hire from within, Keenan Bailey has already been announced as the tight ends coach. The Big Ten announced its postseason awards and all-conference teams. The guys have no issues with most of the award recipients but Jordan does not agree with Jack Campbell as the Big Ten linebacker of the year or defensive player of the year. Ohio State's Tommy Eichenberg finished with five fewer tackles but had 19 more solo tackles and more sacks and tackles for loss. Jack Campbell came into the season with a well known name but Tommy had the better season and should be honored instead. The Big Ten was full of talented players this year leading the country in All-American honors. The Big Ten has 13 players voted to one of the All-American teams with a few more left to be announced. Blake Corum, Marvin Harrison Jr., Paris Johnson Jr., Olu Oluwatimi, Peter Skoronski, Jack Campbell, and Devon Witherspoon are all in line for consensus or unanimous All-American honors. In their pitstops, Jordan admits to his college football addiction as he is dealing with withdrawal and trying to remember what he likes outside of college football. Dante is ready for the holiday season to end so he can stop driving all over Ohio to see friends and family. Michigan is sitting at 12-0 and is basically a lock to play in the College Football Playoff. But first, U-M will head to Indianapolis to defend its Big Ten title against Purdue. The Wolverines are 16.5-point favorites against the Boilermakers and have the makeup to make it a long night for the fellas from West Lafayette. Michigan is supremely stout up front, as evidenced by first-team All-Big Ten members Trevor Keegan, Olu Oluwatimi and Zak Zinter at left guard, center and right guard respectively, and have the best back in the Big Ten in Blake Corum running behind them. Of course, Corum is dinged up and may not play, but Donovan Edwards did just fine against Ohio State in Corum's absence. Throw in a confident and now proven JJ McCarthy, and it feels like it's going to be a rough one for Purdue.
With the final regular season week of college football done, Rob Paul and AJ Marchese breakdown the best and worst 2023 NFL Draft prospect performances from Week 13. They talk Bryce Young and Will Anderson cooking Auburn, Rome Odunze showing why he's one of the best WRs in the class in the Apple Cup, Olu Oluwatimi being one of the most underrated IOLs in the draft, Isaiah Foskey and Michael Mayer keeping Notre Dame in the game against Caleb Williams, and much more! Then, they make their picks ATS for Championship Saturday (and Friday).See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Michigan spring practice is winding down and will culminate on April 2 with some semblance of a spring game. Obviously JJ McCarthy will miss the action, but returning quarterback Cade McNamara, stud playmakers Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards and AJ Henning, along with several highly touted freshmen and new center Olu Oluwatimi will likely be on the field. Everyone is anxious to see the new version of the Wolverines after last season's run and April 2 will be our first chance to do so. All that is down the line a bit, as we prepare for Michigan's Sweet 16 matchup with Villanova tonight. The Wildcats are favored, but not by much. Hunter Dickinson should have his way against an undersized Villanova team. Obviously the Cats are well coached and veteran led, but a lot of people think U-M has more than a puncher's chance to win. We discuss all of that and more on this episode of The Wolverine Digest Podcast.
