The Orange Blossom Classic was nothing less than an abject disaster on one side of the field. The offense was anemic and left the fanbase asking questions that will haunt them for weeks. Chief among those questions will be centered around the quarterback position and if change is needed or should the staff dig in its heels behind RJ.It was a poor showing from that offense and that has to correctedBut the Defense and Special teams were a bright spot in what otherwise proved to be a disappointing outcome. While the football team massively fumbled the bag, the Volleyball team gave us some hope. Let's talk about FAMULY, I picked FAMU to win based on what I was told the QB position might be but now have reservations after seeing otherwise. The season is not over, but the showing in the OBC is definitely below the standard of FAMU faithful. #FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Aaron Torres and Arnie Spanier start the show off talking about Alabama's disappointing start to the season with a loss to Florida State. They then get into Arch Manning and Texas' struggles, before discussing Garrett Nussmeier's stellar performance to lead LSU over Clemson. Aaron and Arnie then discuss USC scoring 73 points in their first game, and UCLA's disappointing first game with Nico Iameleava. Next, Aaron and Arnie talk about the Micah Parsons trade and whether or not it will work out in the long run for the Cowboys. Aaron and Arnie question Jerry Jones' refusal to go all in on Cowboys when they are paying their QB the largest contract in the NFL. Alabama insider Ryan Fowler then joins the show before Steve DeSaegher's extended update. Aaron and Arnie then discuss Alabama's path to still making the CFP, is their season salvageable? They also continue to discuss Arch Manning's lackluster Week 1 performance. Finally, both Aaron and Arnie give their best picks for Notre Dame vs. Miami, North Carolina vs. TCU, and Cowboys vs. Eagles. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

*NOTE: We recorded this podcast before the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. But do not fret Football Americans! Shek provided his immediate reactions to the trade on our YouTube. -Newsman Bradley Best of times, worst of times? Beats the Dickens out of me what that one tale of two cities was about…but where Pittsburgh and Cleveland are concerned, I'm not sure who's better or worse… at least at sports' most important position. Now listen, I'm not insane. The Steelers will be better than the Browns this year--and of course we can laugh at the Browns. Oh my yes, we'll laugh at the Browns, that is my solemn vow. But whatever you think Cleveland's one step forward, 23-yards sack approach, at least they tried to solve the QB spot. As it happens, the two halves of pro pigskin's rusty yinz n yang are in the same spot, starting one-yr rentals both on the wrong side of 40…and that's not a real solution, especially if the goal is going the Super bowl. You think Aaron Rodgers is the missing link for a Lombardi run? the guy whose one and only trip was 15 years ago…against you? By that logic, maybe the Niners shoulda signed their SB43 conquerer Joe Flacco. I'm pretty sure the Steelers braintrust didn't see Sinners…because if they had, they'd know you don't invite in the guy who wants to suck the culture outta you and make it his own. Sorry if that's upsetting, but do keep in mind, yinz have merely adopted the darkness. I was born into it. Back in October of 2010, I said Rodgers would go down as the greatest QB in history. I still say he's the most talented. Or at least, he was. Now though, chasing the self-proclaimed private man who makes documentaries about himself isn't a sincere effort to go the Super bowl. It's about Rodgers and Tomlin's mutually beneficial hope they find redemption and reclaim professional dignity with A playoff win. There's a good reason why that story sounds familiar - it's the same script Tomlin tried with Russell Wilson last year. And that low standard is quite, Brownsie? Of course this didn't have to happen. At the draft they knew they needed a long term answer at QB…but took a D-tackle. And now, if Jaxson Dart is good, that's bad, and if Justin Fields beats Aaron Rodgers in Week One, well, it's gonna get just plain ugly. A-listers like Rodgers might get ink, but summer blockbusters fall in the NFL's offseason. The award winners don't come out til Autumn… and if you can't beat Patrick Mahomet, Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen in January. No matter which rust belt city you're in... there's no point to these fireworks. (And that reminds me, one last note to file away for next summer, Najee Harris - fireworks go in the sky, not your eye.) Let it begin! Ryan Clark joins the show to talk about Aaron Rodgers, cold shoulders and why Mike Tomlin never lost them a game. The Super Fuentes Brothers have the con in Miami. They're gonna help me with some fantasy decisions as the Angel & Devil on my shoulder. Newsman Bradley is in NYC with the black and white news. Every once in a while, a conversation reminds you that greatness isn't just about stats, stars, or accolades--it's about clarity. In this week's episode of Y-Option, I sat down with one of the most intriguing young quarterbacks in the country, Dia Bell, inside the Threads Lounge during the Elite 11 Finals. What unfolded was less an interview and more a workshop as Dia began the long journey toward mapping out his mission, vision, and values as both an athlete and a human being. The 2025 Elite 11 MVP and I had an intimate conversation which was fueled by a partnership with Threads and Y-Option's founding sponsor, 76, keeping you on the GO GO GO so you never miss a beat.Dia opened up about what truly matters to him:* Integrity: staying grounded in who he is and how he was raised.* Leadership: not just on the field, but as the oldest sibling and a role model for those around him.* Community: giving back to the place and people who shaped him.* Lonely Work: the willingness to do the boring, unglamorous things longer and create value for his teammates.* Emotional Intelligence: a gift he's already carrying at such a young age.As a Texas commit and the son of NBA player, Raja, there are many eyes on Dia. We talked about being the man in the arena, blocking out the noise, and navigating the balance between chasing “all-time” greatness and carrying the weight of expectations. He shared how an injury that kept him out of a championship game forced him into a different role–one that revealed his capacity to lift others when he couldn't physically compete.By the end, Dia articulated a mission, vision and his values for his life that reaches far beyond football.MISSION: To impact and uplift others.VISION: To lead, excel, and thrive in all areas of life—on and off the field—with integrity.VALUES: Growth mindset, give back to his community, live with emotional intelligence and more. This conversation was a reminder that clarity creates freedom, and freedom creates discipline. Dia Bell is already living that truth and as his career evolves so will his philosophy in life. And I can't wait to watch him thrive as a young man.Enjoy week 1 and Texas fans, think you'll enjoy learning about your future QB as you watch the most anticipated opener in recent college football history.Much love and stay steady,YogiY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication.
