What kind of leap are you being invited to make? And how can you prepare, plan, and execute that leap? This book outlines five types of leaps you can take using illustrations from the Bible and personal stories.    The Fisherman's Leap (Peter) – when you leave your comfort zone to pursue God's instruction. The Shepherd's Leap (Abraham) – when you're called to make a physical relocation. The Builder's Leap (Nehemiah) – when you have a reassignment for a specific season. The Tentmaker's Leap (Paul) – when your career and calling coincide in the same season. The Trailblazer's Leap (Jesus) – when you disciple and serve others as you partner with God's vision.   Taking a risk of any kind is often accompanied with feelings of fear, uncertainty, and hesitancy. It requires courage and wisdom. Rachel introduces us to biblical characters who have paved the way to lead us into a greater understanding of God's heart and intentions for modern-day leapers. In today's episode, I am so thrilled to welcome Rachel G. Scott, an encourager, speaker, writer, and podcaster, whose new book "Taking the 5 Leaps" is out today. Rachel shares her insightful journey of faith and self-discovery, offering practical wisdom on embracing freedom, overcoming perfectionism, and living a purpose-driven life. Rachel opens up about her struggles with perfectionism, tracing it back to her younger years and the belief that she needed to show up perfectly for everyone. However, she learned that authenticity is far more valuable than perfection, realizing that being authentically herself is what truly matters. Through her journey of spending time with God, Rachel discovered hidden aspects of herself and embraced her unique calling. She now coaches writers and leads the "I Can't Come Down" ministry, helping individuals fulfill the call God has placed on their lives. Drawing from her book, "Taking the 5 Leaps," Rachel shares insights into different types of leaps inspired by Peter, Paul, Nehemiah, Abraham, and Jesus. These leaps symbolize stepping into new seasons, embracing change, and living a "Leaping lifestyle" characterized by faith and obedience to God's leading. Rachel emphasizes the importance of listening to God in various ways and trusting Him to guide us through life's leaps. She encourages listeners to embrace a willing heart, recognizing that God can do more with our willingness than our worthiness. Join us as Rachel G. Scott shares her inspiring journey and practical insights on taking leaps of faith, living authentically, and fulfilling God's purpose for our lives. Bio: Rachel G. When we receive what Jesus won for us on the cross, He becomes the Lord of our lives, not just an advisor. What He says, we are to do. But how do we know what it is He wants us to do? And is there a difference between calling, vision, and purpose? Does God give us temporary assignments? Bible teacher, podcast host and author Rachel G. 1300 new stepfamilies are forming every day. Over 50% of US families are remarried. The average marriage in America lasts only seven years. One out of two marriages ends in divorce. 75% remarry. Can there be any doubt that ministry to blended families is desperately needed. I don't think so, and that's why I've chosen to devote this entire season to supporting the blended family. We have some amazing stories and wisdom to share. On 10/3/23, Ron Deal, of Smart Stepfamilies is joining us to give an overview of what the blended family is, and name some of the challenges they face. On 10/10/23, Rachel G. Founder of The 5 Leaps Podcast, Rachel is wise beyond her years and counsels her audience that there is more than one way to take a leap, five in fact. Today she's offering my listeners her free resource: The Five Leaps Quick Guide - click here.  Tools to help you prepare, plan and execute your next leap. Love it and Rachel! Some Rachel gems: We need to always be leaning into what is that next leap God is leading us to make. The trailblazer goes where no one has gone before, teaching and bringing others along the way. I realized that there is more than one way to take a leap of obedience.  I can envision the worst that can happen while considering the next leap and fight with God's truth my imaginations, speculations and negative thoughts. A "nice" Christian is different than a "kind" Christian; one is something we perform, the other is a posture of the heart.  I want my kids to live a leaping lifestle so that obedience to God is natural for them. I'm not exactly sure how, but my guest on this episode of the Thriving Christian Artist podcast, Rachel G. Scott, must have 30 hours in each of her days.  It's the only logical explanation for how many creative areas she excels in.  Rachel's love of creativity was established at a very young age and grew with every new creative outlet she tried.  Learning the flute, teaching herself the piano, singing in the church choir, on top of loving to draw and write poetry, all led her to feel connected to God's presence.    Of course, not every season of our lives is filled with perfect harmony.  For a long period, Rachel felt unable to connect to her gift of singing.  And that's the story I really want y'all to listen to in this episode.  Because everybody, for one reason or another, can feel disconnected from their art.  But that doesn't have to be the end of it.  Let Rachel's story help you recognize the season of life that you're in and how to follow where God leads you in the seasons to come.  So check out the podcast, and check out Rachel's website and social media to see what amazing things God is doing in her life in this season and beyond.   https://rachelgscott.com/  https://www.instagram.com/iamrachelgscott/  https://twitter.com/iamrachelgscott    When you're ready to stop striving and start thriving, here are 4 other ways I can help: 1️⃣ Join Us in November - Every artist was created by God to create with Him to both experience and release His Light and Life through their creative expression.
