The Alois family is in Disneyland! We're bringing you sounds from the Happiest Place on Earth along with dining, attraction and hotel reviews. We tried some different restaurants on this trip including River Belle Terrace and Rancho Del Zocalo in Disneyland Park, Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure and Great Maple Modern American Eatery in PIXAR Place Hotel. Sit down meals are different in Disneyland compared to Walt Disney World. We'll explain. We also rode new attractions for us including Haunted Mansion Holiday and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. We stayed in the new Villas at Disneyland Hotel and have a lot to say about the Discovery Tower. Thanks for joining us at the Hyperion Hub from the original Hub at the end of Main Street U.S.A. There is no word on when or if they will go back on sale. Speculation online thinks that this is because of the impending lawsuit around reservations and access tied to the Magic Key program. Even more speculation online thinks that the program may get reworked again before going back on sale. Only time will tell. – https://www.micechat.com/323209-disneyland-news-magic-key-locked-new-ca-resident-ticket-offer/ For Weeklyteers who are going to the park and who aren't Magic Keyholders, there is a great ticket deal available! California residents can purchase summer tickets to Disneyland starting as low as $83 per day. The ticket is a 3-day, one park per day ticket for $249 for Monday through Thursday admission, with weekend tickets starting at $299. For $60 more per ticket, park hopping can be added. Tickets are valid for trips from June 3th and September 15th, 2022. Not a bad value to get to see all the nighttime entertainment that has returned. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/31/new-ticket-deal-announced-for-select-disneyland-guests/ Star Wars Celebration was this past weekend across the street from the Disneyland Resort at the Anaheim Convention Center. A lot of Star Wars news was announced, even some parks news! Boba Fett and Fennec Shand were announced to be coming to Star Wars: Galaxys Edge, and then they were there over the weekend. Din Djarin, better known as The Mandalorian, and Grogu, better known as the Child were also announced to be showing up in the area soon. This is a break from the strict timeline that Imagineering has placed on the area, but promise that the characters from the different eras will not interact or be in the same area at the same time. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/13175/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_May_31__June_5_2022#news3 Anyone who has been to Oga's Cantina in Star Wars Galaxys Edge will know DJ Rex spinning tunes for the patrons of the establishment. Soon, guests can listen to some of his tracks on a new album that will be released. No firm date at the moment, but we will keep you updated once we see it online. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/videos-dj-r3x-from-disneys-ogas-cantina-is-releasing-an-album/ Signs outside of the Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland tease the return of the combined museum/store/photo op. No word yet on when this will reopen, but Cast Members are stationed outside of the location telling guests it should be returning soon. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ This past weekend, Fantasmic! returned to the Rivers of America to delight guests once again. The projections look clear and bright, the show scenes look fresh, and the show was amazing as always. The best way to get a great seat for the show is to book the River Belle Terrace dining package for $50 per guest, since they are using the same reserved seating area that the Blue Bayou usually uses. Once the Blue Bayou reopens, this area is expected to be shifted to the side more to accommodate the Blue Bayou guests. The Hungry Bear location is across from the Haunted Mansion and offers a side viewing angle for the show. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ June is here, which means that the busy summer season has started at Disneyland. The Disneyland Forever fireworks show will now play nightly with fireworks 7 days a week. During the non-summer and holiday season, Mickey's Mix Magic was played with projections only during the week, with fireworks on the weekends only. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Last week, the most popular attraction in Disney California Adventure had an incident that has caused it to be closed ever since. Video online showed one of the cars on the outside racetrack portion of the attraction stopped and smoking. Though the vehicle never caught fire, the guests in the vehicle were buckled in with smoke coming from the rear. Cast Members did get out to the guests and exit them from the vehicle with no injuries. Disney has closed the attraction to investigate the incident to ensure it won't happen again. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ In Downtown Disney, food trucks have taken up residence by the old ESPN building to help feed hungry guests. These food trucks are expected to be there until at least July 4th. This is a great idea since the Earl of Sandwich is gone and there is a lack of affordable dining options, especially for larger families. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Guests staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel can enjoy one of the hotel amenities again. The pool has finally reopened after a lengthy refurbishment. None of the stores or restaurants are open yet at the location, but it is great to have the pool open so guests don't have to walk over to the Disneyland Hotel to use their pool. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Discussion Topic: DLWeekyl Vault: Former Aladdin a Musical Spectacular Genie Dylan Website – http://www.dylanwhite.com/ Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/itsdylanwhite/ Aladdin a Musical Spectacular Final Performance – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enW48NlXRj4

However, the Blue Bayou is not included since it is down for refurbishment at the moment. Guests can still get a good meal and a great seat by booking a dining package at the River Belle Terrace. The premium package is $75 per adult, $45 per child and includes anything off their normal menu, or choice of special items which include loaded potato bites, petite New York steak and scallops, chicken and dumplings skillet, pan-roasted shrimp, chocolate rocky road cake or white chocolate raspberry trifle. This allows guests to stay and watch Fantasmic! from the patio. The standard package is $50 per adult and $30 per child for lunch or dinner, which comes with a voucher for seating in a reserved area for the show. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-dinner-packages/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-on-the-go-show/ Fans of Celebrate Soulfully from this past February will be delighted to hear that they won't have to wait until next February for more fun and celebration! This summer, the event returns to highlight Black Music Month throughout June. Daily live entertainment, specialty offerings, including food and art will be availble throughout the resort. The first show to return to the Fantasyland Theatre will premiere on May 28th with the return of “Tale of the Lion King.” There is so much planned for this, be sure to visit the link in our show notes for all the information! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/05/celebrate-soulfully-this-summer-at-disneyland-resort-with-tale-of-the-lion-king-debuting-may-28/ A new addition has been added to the inspirational American heroes area of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln on Main Street. Frederick Douglass, who helped guide Abraham Lincoln to include ending slavery as part of the Civil War. A bust and portrait of Douglass is now on display near the bust and portrait of Abraham Lincoln in the lobby of the Main Street Opera House. A framed copy of the letter declaring Frederick Douglass a free man is also on display. This display was added to continue their efforts to update attractions to reflect the “rich diversity of stories in our world.” – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/05/frederick-douglass-honored-in-great-moments-with-mr-lincoln-at-disneyland-park/ Families of 4 now have the option to eat at the resort for a pretty good deal! Guests can now purchase the Family Picnic Platter at the Paradise Garden Grill at Disney California Adventure for $65. The meal includes BBQ Half Chicken, Pulled Pork and Ribs, Andouille Sausage, Poblano Mac & Cheese, Chuck Wagon Beans, Potato Salad with Bacon, Creamy Coleslaw, Jalapeño-Cheddar Corn Bread, Pickles and Onions, and Cherry Cheesecake. It can be ordered in person or through mobile order, but be prepared for a little wait, as it is a lot of food! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/08/review-is-65-really-a-good-deal-to-feed-a-family-of-four-in-disneyland/ Some new seasonal options have come to the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/hungry-bear-restaurant/menus/lunch-and-dinner/ Over in Avengers Campus, there is a new sipper available at Shwarma Palace. The Doctor Strange Eye of Agamotto sipper is $24.79, and comes with a strap that guests can wear around their neck, just like Doctor Strange himself. For those who don't know the Eye of Agamotto is the amulet that Doctor Strange wears around his neck. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/07/photos-video-step-aside-infinity-gauntlet-theres-a-new-sipper-in-disneylands-avengers-campus/ With the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, America Chavez joins the team, as well as the return of Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. Both of these characters are now out and about in Avengers Campus. America Chavez can be seen as part of the Doctor Strange show, and then with a meet and greet afterwards. The Scarlet Witch makes appearances at a meet and greet in the middle of the land. – https://twitter.com/Disneyland/status/1522656319395835905 As we have been following for the last few episodes, changes are finally visible for the treehouse in Adventureland. The rope bridge that guests crossed over the path to enter the attraction has been taken down, and the tree in the middle of the path which housed the stairs to the bridge has also started to be dismantled. Still no word from Disney on what the re-theme for this former Tarzan's Treehouse and before that Swiss Family Robinson treehouse will be. – https://www.micechat.com/321168-disneyland-news-update-star-wars-construction-change/ Last week was May the 4th, when Star Wars fans have a day of celebration for the universe that they know and love. Disneyland had two of their Star Wars Nite after-hours parties, with one more to come on May 27th this month. Fans that attended seemed to have a really great time dressing up, watching the special fireworks show for the event, checking out all the photo locations, and meeting up with characters throughout the park. Some highlights were the fireworks show, and the Cantina Band on the Rivers of America playing Star Wars classics. – https://www.micechat.com/321168-disneyland-news-update-star-wars-construction-change/ Some of the photo locations that were offered for Star Wars Nite are also there during normal park hours for pictures. Other photo locations were scattered around Tomorrowland for all guests. – https://www.micechat.com/321168-disneyland-news-update-star-wars-construction-change/ For visitors to the resort that are not in the parks, there are still some Star Wars things to check out! Outside the Star Wars Tradin Post in Downtown Disney, there is a sand sculpture to promote the upcoming Obi Wan Disney+ series. One of the very first things we hear when we talk to other people about visiting Disneyland is, “That sounds like so much fun, I wish we could go! It’s just so expensive.” After hearing this so many times, we started to look for ways that families could save on a Disneyland trip. We found that while a Disneyland trip will be expensive (but totally worth it), you might be surprised to find that with a little forethought and planning, it can be within your reach! In this short ebook, we’ve grouped our tips into three main categories: tips on saving and collecting extra money for your trip, saving on the trip itself, and ways to save at the parks on food and souvenirs. In our last show, historian Sam Gennawey and journalist Mark Eades shared their thoughts about Disneyland's upcoming Star Wars Land expansion. We had some lively conversations and after the dust settled, Mark stuck around. He's back today to tell us about his fascinating career, not only in his current role as multimedia reporter with the Orange County Register, but also as a 20-plus year veteran at the Walt Disney Company. In 1972, Mark started out bussing tables at the River Belle Terrace at Disneyland before becoming a ride operator in Tomorrowland. After graduating from college, he interned at the Walt Disney Studios and eventually worked his way into WED Enterprises, later known as Walt Disney Imagineering. Mark had his hand in developing attractions for the openings of Epcot and Tokyo Disneyland, attractions that included Magic Journeys and Horizons. He worked on the Circle-Vision 360 film American Journeys for the Magic Kingdom and researched the use of motion simulators for what would become Star Tours. Mark left Disney and a few years after that, began working at the Orange County Register. He's now a multimedia reporter for the Register and Disneyland is his beat. Today, Mark shares with us what it was like to be inside Disney Imagineering and what you can learn by camping out on Main Street U.S.A. for an entire day. Mark Eades is Tim's guest today in The Mouse Castle Lounge. Enjoy! www.TheMouseCastle.comRSS Feed: http://themousecastle.libsyn.com/rss
