Aisha K. Staggers had her first major publication, an album review, in The New Haven Register while just a sophomore in high school. Another series of reviews published in The Hartford Courant followed. By the time she reached college, Aisha was writing for the literary magazine and interning at a local radio station, ABC-affiliate as a writer in the news department and in the A&R department of an independent record company. As a graduate student at Fisk University, Aisha asked Dr. Raymond Winbush to chair her thesis because 1) he was one of the most renowned voices in black culture and academia, and 2) he was a Prince fan. His scholarship and guidance led Aisha to an early career as a professor of social sciences and later an administrator in higher education. Aisha has also served as a director of education and policy research centers and on the staff of legislative commissions. She previously served on the Executive Board of the CT Young Democrats' Women's Caucus, an avid campaigner and has remained active in politics and public policy. EPISODE 70: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: It goes without saying Trump should not merely already be under indictment - he should be under 24/7 guard in a SuperMax Prison. But he's not. So we have to view last night's leak about the Department of Justice considering a Special Trump Counsel as "good news." (2:45) CNN's report says the Special Counsel would be appointed as soon as Trump officially declares he's running (he came close last night at one of his Cult Rallies) (3:53) CNN also reported something strange: that DOJ has hired two high-priced prosecutors in advance, just in case they do decide to prosecute. Are you kidding? Who does this? You don't hire guys away from Law Firm Partnerships 'just in case' (5:55) Plus CNN discovered one of the hirings because the guy UPDATED HIS LINKED-IN PROFILE! (8:23) In actual stuff that's happened, CREW, which got a New Mexico County Commissioner removed from office for insurrection based on the 14th Amendment, says it will sue to get Trump similarly barred from serving (11:00) All of which leads me to invoke 19th Century British Prime Minister William E. Gladstone and an immortal quote about him supplied by one of his fiercest critics, Henry Labouchere. B-Block (14:25) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Calto, in New York (15:17) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Golly, I guessed right: Elon Musk IS willing to sell YOUR Twitter identity to somebody else. I think we call this "blackmail." Plus CNBC fires Shepard "I Come From A Town Full Of Secrets" Smith. (17:54) IN SPORTS: World Series Game 5 Nailbiter; maybe those Phillies Powder Blue unis aren't good luck; and an imperfection in Don Larsen's 1956 Perfect Game you may not know about. Finally, Kyrie Irving is suspended. (24:37) WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: A lawyer age-shaming the victim in an indecent exposure case and a medical school that played with the 1918 Influenza vie with Laura Ingraham for the honors C-Block (29:57) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: "The Luck Of Jad Peters."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too. TESLA ENDS REFERRAL PROGRAM "Tesla has officially ended its Referral Program, which provides owners with Supercharging miles and the opportunity to earn other rewards." "The referral program applied to any vehicle and solar panel purchases and would provide both the customer and Tesla with advantages. Owners were able to work their way up to cool prizes like a next-gen Tesla Roadster, drives in the Tesla Semi, and of course, 1,000 free Supercharging miles when a vehicle was purchased using their referral code" "On the company's website, Tesla said: “As of September 18, 2021, vehicle products, and solar panels are no longer eligible for Referral awards.” Tesla owners who still have Supercharging miles will be able to use them. Unfortunately, due to the termination of the program, no more miles will be earned through referrals."  "Tesla's demand has skyrocketed to the point that some vehicles are sold out for the rest of the year. While it is advantageous for customers to earn rewards for helping Tesla sell cars and other products, there comes a point where it becomes a financial liability, and perhaps it has reached that point" Mashable says: "Tesla's referral program has changed over the years and was completely decimated in 2019. When it returned, it was a shadow of its former self with pared-back rewards. The company used to throw in extra gifts like toy Teslas for kids and Elon Musk-signed wall connectors." Source: https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-referral-program-cancelled/ Source: https://mashable.com/article/tesla-referral-program-ends TESLA FSD BETA BUTTON TO RELEASE SEPT. 24—BUT ONLY TO GOOD DRIVERS "Tesla owners in the United States will only have to wait for another week to get the Tesla FSD button." "The Tesla boss went on to tweet that the request button for the Tesla FSD is rolling out next Friday, or on Sept. 24 to be exact. It is worth noting that Musk often announces that the FSD button is coming in two weeks, but it gets moved to another date. However, things must have changed by this time as the EV giant exec now boasted a one-week waiting time" "Musk further said that the software for the button is supposed to be out by now to a wider range of users. However, Tesla is still fixing some final touches to avoid bugs from ruining the rollout of the FSD Beta." "Musk further explained on Twitter that the upcoming FSD button will only request permission to access the driving behavior of the user in the next seven days via the insurance calculator of the EV giant. Such a process is in place to ensure that only the drivers with good behavior will get to use the wider release of the FSD feature." https://www.techtimes.com/articles/265500/20210917/elon-musk-tesla-fsd-beta-button-to-release-sept-24%E2%80%94but-only-to-good-drivers.htm BYD PLUG-IN CAR SALES SURGE TO OVER 60,000 IN AUGUST 2021 "In August, BYD set its third consecutive monthly passenger plug-in car sales record in China, reaching an amazing level of 60,508 units (up 332% year-over-year). That's over 10,000 more than in July and over 20,000 more than in June." "According to the data of EV Sales, in July 2021, BYD returned to the top of the global NEV sales in a single month after 26 months, surpassing Volkswagen to claim third place in terms of cumulative sales from January to July." "So far in 2021, the company sold in China over 260,000 plugs-in (up 206% year-over-year), which means that it already is the best year in the company's history." JAY LENO SAYS, ‘THE ELECTRIC CAR IS HERE TO STAY'  "Jay Leno gave CNBC's “The News with Shepard Smith” an optimistic outlook when it comes to the future of electric cars, despite the latest warning from General Motors to owners of some Chevy Bolts, advising them not to park within 50 feet of other cars. GM's latest warning follows the Detroit automaker recalling more than 140,000 of the EVs produced since 2016 due to the risk of batteries spontaneously catching fire from “two rare manufacturing defects.”" “The last days of old technology are always better than the first days of new technology, but we're beyond the first days of new technology,” said Leno, the host of CNBC's “Jay Leno's Garage.” “I mean, the electric car is here to stay. I predict a child born today will probably drive in a gasoline powered car about as often as you would drive in a car with a stick shift now.”" https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/16/jay-leno-says-electric-car-is-here-to-stay-despite-chevy-bolt-recalls.html DRIVERS FACE YEAR'S WAIT FOR ELECTRIC CARS AHEAD OF ULEZ EXPANSION "Drivers hoping to go electric before the ultra low emission zone expansion next month face waiting lists of up to a year for new vehicles. Demand for battery electric vehicles has increased by more than 30 per cent in the past year but a global shortage of semiconductors has meant manufacturers are struggling to meet demand." "Most petrol cars made since 2005 and diesel cars since September 2015 will have engines that comply with the ULEZ, and Mr Khan has advised Londoners to switch to a compliant second-hand vehicle. But used car dealerships are also reporting a “massive” increase in demand for Ulez-compliant cars, with prices soaring and stock issues at some dealers." "On the rush for compliant cars, Rupert Moylett, director of Harringtons of Fulham, said: “We've had one of our best past three months in quite a long time, as everyone is trying to get rid of their diesels." Source: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/cop26-electric-cars-ulez-expansion-drivers-b955933.html SINCLAIR C5: THE HISTORY OF SIR CLIVE SINCLAIR'S ELECTRIC CAR "The Sinclair C5 arrived in 1985 with a level of accompanying hype that would surely have impressed a then fourteen-year-old Elon Musk, but this brainchild of one of Britain's most famous tech entrepreneurs crashed spectacularly soon after launch." "Sir Clive, whose death at the age of 81 was announced on 16 Sept 2021, was lauded in the 1980s as the inventor of the first pocket calculator and the ground-breaking ZX81 and ZX Spectrum home computers. The tech tycoon had a deep interest in electric transport and founded Sinclair Vehicles in 1983 on the back of his earlier commercial successes." "The company's first and only production vehicle was the Sinclair C5, an innovative three-wheeler with a polypropylene body designed by Lotus, manufactured at the Hoover washing machine factory in Merthyr Tidfil. The C5 was launched with great fanfare in January 1985 in London - and the project went downhill from there.". *Today we present the return of a classic show. Bob mentions Shepard Smith's passing. This was, mercifully, not to the afterlife but merely from Fox. Shep needs to repent and trust Jesus Christ before he signs off, permanently. Oh yeah, and Enyart notes that not a single host left at Fox would refuse to utter the phrase, "his husband." Bob also reports that his ole boss's boss's boss, Bill Gates (Bob's boss reported to Steve Balmer), had a much cozier relationship with known pedophile Jeffrey Epstein than he's let out. Instead of telling it all at once, Gates' death by a thousand paper cuts comes from revelations of repeated get-togethers and financial cooperation and even a flight on the "Lolita Express" jet to Epstein's Palm Beach mansion. Today's program also covers Trump's current trillion dollar deficit and compares it and the morality behind it all to Obama's near-trillion dollar stimulus package and its shovel-ready pork. Finally, a program note. Debbie DeGroff, author of Between the Covers, What's In Children's Books, has agreed to come on the show, though Bob has had a hard time not throwing up as he reads through her (excellent) book.

But in today's climate Matthews was the proverbial sore thumb on the network.  Courting controversy over on-air comments including likening Sen. He also asked Elizabeth Warren why she would believe a woman over Michael Bloomberg regarding accusations that the ex-mayor told a pregnant employee to “kill” her unborn child. Matthews apologized for the nazi comment and on Tuesday he addressed the ill-fit on MSNBC and his future. This was a classic Friday night broadcast: we went into overtime about 30-minutes, Liam Scheff (please check out his book 'Official Stories' on Amazon) joined us to debunk the entire universe, and there was rarely a point where information wasn't being shared! We start off with a few quick thoughts about the quandary that is the John Kasich campaign. No answers, just questions. Then Frank takes on a question that was posed recently about whether or not Disney is turning Star Wars into a feminist movement. That triggered an avalanche of feelings. Then we bring on Liam Scheff. The topic of conversation begins with the history of Vaccines: Are they safe? Are they effective? Are there any safe vaccines that are effective? Then there was a seamless transition into Global Warming, Space, and NASA...What is the end game? When Liam departs, we stay on for about ten more minutes, in which JonnyVroom calls in to end the show on the topic of the recent segment that Shepard Smith did on the RNC and the Ron Paul rules, which are about to bite the Party in the ass when it comes to their fear of Donald Trump's candidacy. There will be more commentary on this during the Monday evening broadcast. And that's all, guys and dolls. Enjoy your weekends and stay elevated.
