It's only appropriate that we play audio from terrible Cowboys players on this Terrible Rejoin Thursday, so that's exactly what we do. Then we spin off and revisit a conversation from earlier this week regarding port-a-potty use, or lack thereof. And lastly, we discuss the merits of each nominee for Time Person of the Year.
In this episode of the Daily Briefing, we discuss the newly announced TIME magazine person of the year; the new ban on videos propagating misinformation on the 2020 Presidential Election; and the newly announced Indiana Jones movie.
A coronavirus advisory member for Joe Biden says families should not gather at Christmas unless they live in the same house, the former vice president says he will implement a 100-day mask mandate nationwide, Trump secures another victory in the Middle East and Susan Rice is expected to be involved in the Biden administration. Plus, former Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw schools Nancy Pelosi with a painfully true message on the House floor. Finally, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were named TIME magazine's person of the year and Trump is still fighting the election results - so should you. TIME has released its annual Person of the Year and the 'happy little girl' from Sweden, Greta Thunberg, was the recipient. The four finalists that missed out were: President Trump, Nancy Pelosi, The "Whistleblower" and the Hong Kong Protesters. VB knew from the beginning that it was going to be Greta, however Dave was upset that one of the other finalists was snubbed.Much more prestigious however, is the annual "Unperson of the Year" award given out by VB. He gave out his winner and finalists on his twitter page, @VBtheWise, where you can vote on a poll to choose one yourself.

THE HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POLITICS This Week’s Discussion: In this week’s episode we talk about a federal judge overturning the Affordable Care Act and how it sheds further light on Chief Justice Roberts' long game and the constricting of the Commerce Clause as well as GOP efforts to remake the federal judiciary. Trump fixer Michael Cohen is sentenced and a host of Trump cronies line up to plead guilty and/or cooperate with the Special Counsel, as the noose tightens around the President's neck. The profundity of the choice between the parties becomes clearer, as Dems seek a Green New Deal and GOP continues to insulate itself from democracy while seeking planetary destruction for financial gain. Nancy and Chuck meet with the President and try to show the office the respect it does not get from its inhabitant. Trump civics lessons. Time's Person of the Year choice is a middle finger to the GOP and the right's assault on truth and reason. *Also available on Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube -Please SUBSCRIBE THE HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POLITICS Forward Nation Radio with Professor David Leventhal Visit forwardnationradio.com for all shows, fun toons, stats, and more. We recorded on Dec. 5 and woke up the next day to see that Time's Person of the Year 2017 is 'The Silence Breakers.' We're happy to add our voices to this important conversation. Everywhere you turn, it seems another high-profile man is being taken down by sexual harassment. "Keep your hands to yourself" should be easy enough, but it seems many men missed that basic life lesson. Now we're thinking about how to approach the subject with our kids. The boys take their shot at naming TIME's Person of the Year, and what Christmas decorations get on their nerves. Plus, Top 3 Worst & Favorite School Years.
2016 was a crazy year. It took names and literally keeps taking names. George Michael didn't deserve, not on Christmas Day! Rio almost got through with the Olympics without any incidents but Ryan Lochte refused to let them be great. We found out Blue Ivy doesn’t play with North but "dem babies" sure do and for that Kanye weeps. Black millennials finally saw themselves reflected on the silver screen in Atlanta and Insecure. We learned that America refuses to miss an opportunity to one up the Brits, and that the resilience of the Native spirit is not one to be fuqqed with. #StandingRock We mourned the lives of those lost in terrible tragedies in Aleppo, France, California, Dallas, and Orlando. We could not ignore the countless black bodies slain by aggressive police force to fever pitch summer 2016. We said too many RIPs for legends like Craig Sager, Gwen Ifill, Fidel Castro, Muhammed Ali, Prince, David Bowie, Alan Thicke, Zsa Zsa Gabor, China Machado, George Michael, and more. And we personally cancelled about as many living celebs, so much so, we had to stay vigilant about keeping with our prayer candle lit for brother Kanye. While 2016 felt like hot garbage most of the times, it was low key lit as hell! So inspired by the TIME's Person of the Year, we’re doing our picks for who/what what was the best, worst, weirdest, pettiest.. of 2016. Let's set fire to the rain in 2017 and thank 2016 for the lessons learned! Be Great! Recorded Tuesday December 20, 2016.
This week, Dom gets called away on business, so the boys are joined by their good pal Damian to talk about working two jobs at once. Trump transition update including the President Elect's recent nod for Time's Person of the Year.
Donald Trump was named Person of the Year by TIME Magazine - which is appropriate, considering what he just accomplished by winning more pledged votes in the Electoral College. But Trump himself is upset that the magazine correctly describes the country as "divided." He would like them to perpetuate the propaganda that he won in a landslide, a point MOMocrats Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills refute with the fact of the popular vote. The MOMocrats also talk about the open Supreme Court seat and Merick Garland nomination and what Democrats can do with guest Aliza Worthington, of Worthington Post and The Broad Side. An Engender Media Group production.
C4 started the show Wednesday talking about how Donald Trump had been named TIME's Person Of The Year much to the chagrin of TIME. In the second hour of the show C4 talked about CNN's Special hosted by Vann Jones in which he talked to Trump Supporters who voted for Obama twice before. Int eh third hour of the show C4 talked about the report on the November Bus Crash that killed 6 people in Baltimore and how it seems it could have been prevented. In the final hour C4 talked about the 75th Remembrance of Pearl Harbor.

The Context of White Supremacy hosts our monthly Global Sunday Talk On Racism. This program is engineered to encourage participation from Victims of Racisms beyond the United States and/or non-white people who are unable to dial-in during our typical broadcast time. Our November broadcast was just days after the reported terrorist attacks in Paris, France. Many of our international listeners in Europe provided astute observations and predictions on how these events would be used to reinforce White Supremacy. We're eager to hear views thirty days after the slaughter. We'll also investigate the international outlook on the presidential candidacy of Donald Trump; Dr. Frances Cress Welsing predicts he will be the next person to occupy the White House. We also hope to process German Chancellor Angela Merkel being awarded TIME's Person of the Year. Many White Germans have enthusiastically chided her for welcoming too many non-white "refugees." And we'll see how folks are dealing with the so called holidays around the world. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE: 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
Wednesday we started the show talking about how TIME named Angela Merkel it's Person Of The Year. Then we spent an hour talking about Donald Trump's Muslim travel ban with Towson University's Richard Vatz. In the final hour of the show we talked about how Bernie Sanders said that parts of Baltimore look like a third world country and who's fault that was.
