Is Nick Reiner Racing the Clock to Drain His Parents' Trust Fund?

A hundred and thirty-six pages. That is the length of the probate petition Nick Reiner just filed to force the release of over $1.5 million from the trust fund Rob and Michele Reiner created for their children. He wants the money for a high-powered defense attorney. He wants it for soap and socks. And he wants it before a conviction can trigger the one law designed to stop him.California's slayer statute says if you intentionally and feloniously kill someone, you do not inherit from them. Not a dollar. Not from the trust. Not from the estate. If Nick Reiner is convicted, the door slams shut. Everything goes to Jake and Romy. So what does Nick do? He files now. He demands the court compel immediate release. He calls the distributions “mandatory and unconditional.” He claims the trustee is using a “shifting series of excuses.” And his petition includes this line: “No use of his funds could be more important.” His legal team is arguing that the charges against him — the charges that he killed his own mother and father — are the reason to speed up the payout, not slow it down. Tony Brueski walks through the petition, the family's decision to cut Nick off, the legal framework that could block every cent, and the pattern of behavior that makes this filing the most predictable move Nick Reiner has ever made. His siblings already said no. The trustee already said no. This episode explains what happens when the only person who has never accepted a no tries to override everyone who has.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? What happens when astronauts, spacecraft, or future lunar settlers need help and there's no communications network to call on?    In Episode 3 of Are We There Yet?, Tamara Bond-Williams speaks with Toni Spatola, Chief Commercial Officer of Filtronic, about the communications and navigation infrastructure that may enable safe operations beyond Earth orbit.    Using the Artemis II communications blackout as a starting point, the conversation explores how governments and industry are building the communications, positioning, and navigation systems that future lunar missions may depend upon.    If communications infrastructure is a prerequisite for safe operations, it may also become one of the foundational investments and service sectors of the emerging Space Safety Economy.    Sponsored by the American Space Exploration Children's Trust Fund.

Social Security Trust Fund May Be Exhausted by 2032 — How Big Benefit Cuts Could Be Without Action

Social Security retirement benefits are projected to undergo an automatic reduction of 24% by late 2032 unless Congress takes action to prevent the depletion of the program's trust fund. A recent analysis conducted in June 2026 by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget indicates that the insolvency of the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund may occur slightly earlier than previously anticipated. At that point, ongoing payroll tax revenues are expected to cover only about 76% to 77% of the scheduled payouts. The average monthly reduction for retirees across the nation could be approximately $500.The average annual impact may result in a reduction of around $18,100 for a typical dual-income retired couple. The total economic impact translates to an immediate annual loss of $345 billion, affecting over 15% of the population in 47 states. The anticipated depletion date has been advanced due to declining birth rates, slower wage growth in relation to the economy, and the legislative effects of recent policy changes. Notably, increased spending from the Social Security Fairness Act—which expanded benefits for about 3 million government pension recipients—and tax code modifications from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act have hastened the drawdown of the trust fund.Since this reduction is a statutory consequence of an exhausted fund rather than a permanent cessation of the program, it is imperative for lawmakers to enact reforms to avert these cuts.Revenue Increases: Policymakers might consider eliminating or raising the current payroll tax earnings cap to impose taxes on high earners, or increasing the overall payroll tax rate of 12.4%.Benefit Adjustments: Congress could modify future cost-of-living calculations or gradually raise the full retirement age for younger generations. Proactive Financial Preparations include diversifying savings by maximizing contributions to options such as traditional or Roth IRAs and employer-sponsored 401(k) plans.Delaying claims: Postponing the filing of claims beyond the full retirement age can trigger delayed retirement credits, which would permanently enhance the baseline monthly benefit.

It is busy time, to say the least, for Libby Cantrill, Head of Public Policy at PIMCO. Today's markets are grappling with vast uncertainties…in US fiscal policy, in Fed independence and leadership, in geopolitics, and in global trade. Libby is charged with helping both the clients and risk-takers of PIMCO better understand the implications of policy that is changing rapidly.Through her conversations with institutional, retail, and international clients, she outlines how uncertainty around US policy has become a central driver of investor concern early in 2026. Our discussion highlights how recent geopolitical developments — including tensions with Europe, rhetoric around Greenland, and renewed trade disputes — have amplified questions around US credibility and global leadership.Throughout the conversation, Libby frames the current environment as one in which policy volatility, rather than policy outcomes alone, is shaping investor behavior. Tariffs, fiscal deficits, and election-driven incentives have created a backdrop where markets must continuously reassess tail risks. We explore the challenge of reigning in US entitlements. Here, she describes two potential forcing mechanisms: bond market pressure or looming entitlement shortfalls. While the so-called bond vigilantes have periodically re-emerged, she notes that market selloffs have thus far been contained, suggesting that investors continue to grant the U.S. substantial runway. At the same time, projected shortfalls in the Trust Fund later this decade represent a political and economic inflection point that may eventually compel action.I hope you enjoy this episode of the Alpha Exchange, my conversation with Libby Cantrill.

BT & Sal torch Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner for his "tone-deaf" comments and for treating the Yankees as a business first, calling his $100 million payment to New York City an "excuse" for not spending to win. The hosts criticize Hal's complacency with Brian Cashman, demanding accountability for the championship drought and lack of player development. The debate spills over to ranking New York's sports owners (Mara, Woody, Cohen, Dolan) by their commitment to winning. In a hypothetical blockbuster, Sal makes the case for an aggressive Mets trade for Fernando Tatis Jr. over signing free agents. NFL Insider Brian Baldinger joins to dismantle the 2-10 Giants' claim that they're better than their record. The show wraps with a breakdown of the historic Thanksgiving Football slate, the "Bald Faced Lie, Bald Faced Truth" segment, and a "Call of the Day" where a furious Yankee fan "savages" Brandon Tierney for not being aggressive enough against Hal, vowing a boycott against the "trust fund puke."

Once again, everyone is looking for a reason other than the cold hard truth. Social Security operates like a ponzi-scheme. Ponzi-schemes fall apart when withdrawals exceed collections. Since 2021, the payouts have exceeded collections. The worker-retiree ratio has fallen from 5:1 in the 1960 to 2.8:1 today, and is expected to be 2.3:1 in 2033. Life expectancy has increased, as well as the payouts per retiree.    The SS trust fund will be depleted by 2033. At that point with no changes in law, only 77% of benefits will be paid out, decreasing to 69% over time. This means to keep this terrible program running and paying out 100% of benefits, things will have to change. Either higher taxes, higher retirement age, or a new $500 billion in borrowing every year, and increasing every year.    Ideas like cutting out rich people or increasing the maximum threshold buy the program another 5-10 years.    We will not come to a sensible solution on SS until voters accept that the money you paid in is gone, but not because the Trust Fund was "raided;" and the shortfall is not because millions of illegals are collecting your social security.
