In the Gita, Kṛṣṇa gives some indication (BG 3.9): yajñārthāt karmaṇo 'nyatra loko 'yaṁ karma-bandhanaḥ tad-arthaṁ karma kaunteya mukta-saṅgaḥ samācara. That if you do some yagya in any place, any time, then you'll feel naturally satisfied because this is our eternal constitutional position. We enjoy unlimitedly by serving Krishna. The more we give to Krishna, the happier we become. Naivātmanaḥ prabhur ayaṁ nija-lābha-pūrṇaḥ mānaṁ janād aviduṣaḥ karuṇo vṛṇīte yad yaj jano bhagavate vidadhīta mānaṁ tac cātmane prati-mukhasya yathā mukha-śrīḥ (SB 7.9.11). Prahlāda Mahārāja says that those who are properly aligned know that the more they give to Kṛṣṇa, the happier they become because he says, and he gives it an example, we're parts of Kṛṣṇa. We're like reflections of Kṛṣṇa. The way if you look in the mirror, you'll see your reflection, and if you stand in front of the mirror and decorate your face, put on nice tilak or gopi dots, then you'll look and see that the reflection is also decorated. So, he gives this example that we feel naturally happy when we make an arrangement for Kṛṣṇa's senses to be satisfied. One of the ways that Ekadasi is especially honored is because it's a day in which there's a surge from the moon, and the senses become more active. So, the devotees' reasoning is, well, Kṛṣṇa's senses can get more enjoyment on this day of Ekadashi, so we'll just fast and feed Kṛṣṇa and serve Kṛṣṇa as much as possible on Ekadashi. Because the devotees' idea is that the more sense gratification we give to Kṛṣṇa, then the happier we are. Of course, they're not considering, are the devotees, that I'll be happy by serving Kṛṣṇa. They're just aware of the fact that they only want to serve. They're just aware of the fact that they only want to serve Kṛṣṇa. And Kṛṣṇa, of course, notices that the devotees in serving him selflessly, are enjoying more than he is. This is the reason for.... Vrinda Gupta is the CEO & Co-Founder of Sequin, the first debit card and banking in U.S. history designed by and for women and minorities. She is a globally recognized credit expert featured by Forbes, ABC7 News, and Fintech Magazine and has been named one of the top 10 women to watch in Fintech.Vrinda helped launch the popular Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card at Visa Inc. But, when she applied for the card she helped create, she was rejected. This inspired Vrinda to act. She quit her job at Visa to found Sequin, to recognize women's financial power and fight against the injustices that opposed it, including credit card debt and the Pink Tax.Money is power - and this proud first-generation Indian immigrant is on a mission to design a world where women have more of both. You can sign up for Sequin today completely fee-free at sequincard.com/shebelievedshecould.Memorable Moments:“The pink tax is a well-documented phenomenon where women are paying more for everyday products and services 42% of the time, which adds up to thousands of dollars a year, and hundreds of thousands a lifetime.” “As women and minorities, we are not having conversations that are necessary to be successful in the financial world. We feel at fault and alone in our unknowingness, but most hardships have stemmed from a system that is steeped in the patriarchy.” When fundraising, it's important to find mission-driven investors, recognize that you don't need to know wealthy people to recruit support, and never, ever under-sell yourself.“It is so important to have accounts in your own name. Whether that's a bank account or a credit card, it is important to set yourself up for success by knowing the steps.”Every woman is a walking billion dollar opportunity because we have been continually underserved.  Connect with Vrinda:WEBSITE: www.sequincard.com/SheBelievedSheCouldINSTAGRAM: @sequin_cardTIKTOK:https://www.tiktok.com/@sequin_card Connect with AllisonInterested in working together? Have you gotten yourself into financial trouble in the past becuase of over extending yourself using a credit card? If you have, you're not alone. Knowing how to use credit cards as a beneficial tool is a game (that many of us are never taught), and each of us needs to determine if we know the rules to the credit card game and if we feel like we can follow the rules well to win the game. For some people, credit cards (when used well) can be an amazing tool to build credit and score cash back, miles, travel perks, and purchase protection. For others, credit cards are more of a temptation and cause more financial damage than any perks are worth.  In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast I'm diving into the deep underbelly of the credit card industry with former VISA employee turned Sequin CEO, Vrinda Gupta. Vrinda had her financial "wake up moment" when she was denied from the credit card that she helped build. She then set out on her own to create Sequin, the first of it's kind debit card designed to earn women up to 6% cashback on self-care (think gyms, beauty stores, drug stores, and more) without perpetuating a cycle of credit card debt. Most credit cards earn rewards, but can get you in a cycle of high-interest credit card debt. Debit cards, while they keep you in budget, do not typically earn rewards. Sequin is the best of the both worlds, and earns you cashback -- on a debit card! This is your own money, so you can stick with a budget without sacrificing cashback rewards. Best of all, it's founded by women, for women and you will receive a custom credit card debt payoff plan to manage credit while earning cashback. There's no monthly fees, overdrafts, or minimums, and your checking account will earn high interest. In this conversation Paige and Vrinda talk about secrets the credit card companies don't want you to know, how credit cards are designed to keep you overspending, why it can be so tricky to get out of credit card debt once you're in it, and diving into Sequin, the debit card that Vrinda created to help women combat credit card debt for good. Listen as we talk to our guest about failing multiple times, dropping out of college, and finding something you love behind a mirage of lack of options. She has not only conquered learning one of the hardest languages in the world, but also found success through it, continuing to prove that a degree that isn't your choice or happy place, isn't a degree that's probably needed in the long run. We talk about society norms and mental health, and how it is okay to not have the same beliefs as others around you. We also talk about Vrinda's Witchcraft hobbies and how that has been a different experience for her and those around her. It is important being yourself and doing things that make you happy!
