Solo-founder of Kiddiwhizz, Zoë Chapman, shares how risking it all for her invention led to double investment on Dragon's Den. After noticing a vast gap in the market during the pandemic, the 39-year-old mum of one rolled her sleeves up to fill it. Her genius idea: A portable kids' toilet—aptly called the Whizzer. Taking a huge financial risk from her 1-bed council flat, she turned a need into a solution, in part thanks to her neurodivergent brain. And now, she has singlehandedly turned her idea into an award-winning, eco-friendly solution that parents simply can't leave the house without. Struggling against traditional expectations, Zoë offers a unique perspective on overcoming obstacles, harnessing creativity, and challenging conventional norms to achieve success. With authenticity and resilience, she demonstrates how neurodivergence can provide a fresh lens for innovation and inspire others to embrace their own individual capabilities. Join us on this episode of Sound Advice: Entrepreneurs Unfiltered to explore how you too can defy the odds and grow a unique business.

Writer, editor, and manager, Tim Quinn was born in Liverpool, England. He started his career as a clown at Blackpool Tower Circus before working on BBC TV's Good Old Days music hall series where he wrote scripts for top comedians. It was a small jump from there into the world of comic books where he spent many happy years as a scriptwriter on such noted UK titles as The Beano, The Dandy, Sparky, The Topper, Buster, Whoopee!, Bunty, Jackie, Dr Who Magazine, and Whizzer & Chips before heading to the United States to work for the mighty Marvel Comics Group as both editor and Head of Special Projects. Through those years he also produced many daily newspaper comic strips and interviews with such names as Klaus Voormann, Derek Taylor, Sir Tim Rice, Jeffrey Archer, Willy Russell, Eddie Izzard, Sierra Boggess, and Chyler Leigh.Tim has worked as a writer for the Guardian newspaper, as well as editor for America's oldest publication, The Saturday Evening Post, and as producer for LWT's The South Bank Show TV documentary series – that included among others, a show on the history of Marvel Comics! For many years Tim ran a publishing company with his wife Jane and Gillian Baverstock, the elder daughter of noted children's author, Enid Blyton.Additionally, Tim and Jane ran Mighty Quinn Management, as agents and managers to many musicians while putting on huge charity shows featuring members of Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones. These days, Tim's the Editor-in-Chief for the Merseyside charity, Liverpool Heartbeat, creating literacy-based comic books for schools across the region. He's also produced books for New Haven Publishing, who just released The Jolly Bloodbath, a piratical novel for children written by The Brothers Quinn, Tim and his younger brother, Jason, who's a well-known comic book writer. Also, look for Tim's autobiography, Argh, also from New Haven Publishing.
Adam and Dr Drew open the show harkening back to some of the parody songs of their youth leading Adam to examine how the evolution of language is being used to obfuscate the meaning. Later, Dr Bruce aka Dr Spaz fills in for Dr Drew as he and Adam discuss the legitimacy of turning left against a red arrow and the groupthink that prevents others from using their own judgment. Finally, Adam and Drew discuss tweets from President Trump suggesting that he would place a wholesale ban on transgendered people serving in the military and explore how the terms surrounding those communities have changed over the years.
On the field, Reggie Williams was an ever-present force of nature, proudly wearing no. 57 for 14 seasons as a member of Tabari's hometown Cincinnati Bengals. And now, the renaissance man that is the former NFL player/politician/businessman/author is the featured guest on the 80th episode of A Tight 45 with Tabari McCoy!A native of Flint, MI, Williams was the Bengals third-round draft pick in 1976 out of Darmouth University, the same college where he was awarded an academic scholarship. Eventually graduating with his degree in an A.B. in psychology (after also winning an Ivy League wrestling championship), he would become a force on the gridiron for the Bengals, where he would play in both Super Bowl XVI (1981) – he led the Bengals defense with a team-high 11 sacks and second most tackles with 106 – and XXIII (1988) .Football wouldn't be the only place Williams would make his mark, however, as he would go on to be appointed to and win re-election of a seat on Cincinnati City Council in the late 1980s. This is in addition to the two year span that saw him win the Byron "Whizzer" White Award for Humanitarian Service (1985), NFL Man of the Year (1986) and Sports Illustrated's Co-Sportsmen of the Year (1987). After retiring from football, he would go on to work as the director of sports development for Disney - yes, THAT Disney – helping to develop the World Wide of Sports complex that is still thriving today. On this episode (out on all major platforms on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022), Williams chats with Tabari about life in the NFL, the litany of injuries he has dealt with post-football, his dual existence as a football player and politician and why cannabis is important to his quality of life today. There's even a question that only Tabari would ask which Williams provides an answer to as only he can – but you'll have to listen to the whole episode to find out what that is! Check out this episode and others you may have missed at https://atight45.buzzsprout.com/or wherever you get your podcasts today!
We finish Pride Month with act two (or three?) of Falsettos, the 2/3rds of the whole Marvin/In Trousers trilogy. Marvin and Whizzer have broken up. Marvin and Trina are planning Jason's bar mitzvah and tensions are high. And since this is about gay men in the 80s, AIDS is pretty prominent.
Mac Antigua grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and came back to the Midwest via Texas and St. Paul. Hackers be damned, Mac has lived in Milwaukee for eleven years, in Shorewood, WI. He started his career in youth development, and has worked for decades as a professional convener and facilitator. Though he is departing, Mac looks forward to a future as a (loving yet disgruntled) listener of the pod. Because SNL didn't call him to become a writer, he will be leaving Imagine MKE to work at My Brother's Keeper Alliance within the Obama Foundation. He will also be appearing on Lindsay Sheridan's “Slap Tour.” In the interview, he talks about the formative experience of learning through practicing improv to inhabit a space of love and fullness, instead of a space of “am I good enough”? or wanting to perform perfectly. Because in improv, you deal with failure and ambiguity all the time. He reflects on how the arts matter to him, how it has helped him to exist in spaces where there is not a clear answer but instead to see opportunities. And, ask questions, including “why else does this matter?” During his time at Imagine, he has been focused on creating spaces of insight, connection and trust. In the conversation, he reflects on the magical six words. Lindsay asks, “Is it too late for meeting rehearsals?” Mac shares highlights and reflections from working with the team at Imagine. The team is grateful to him for modeling the notion of possibility, joyful abundance, and examples of what all great teams have. Hint: it's not The Whizzer. FALSETTOS COMPOSER: William Finn LYRICIST: William Finn BOOK: William Finn and James Lapine DIRECTOR: James Lapine PRINCIPLE CAST: Stephen Bogardus (Whizzer), Michael Rupert (Marvin), Barbara Walsh (Trina) OPENING DATE: Apr 29, 1992 CLOSING DATE: Jun 27, 1993 PERFORMANCES: 486 SYNOPSIS: In the early 1980s, Marvin is married to Trina but is having an affair with Whizzer. Deciding to live his life as a gay man, Marvin leaves Trina and begins a rocky relationship with Whizzer, whose life is put in peril when he is diagnosed with AIDS. Falsettos is the fusion of two William Finn musicals exploring the trajectory of gay male relationships during the AIDS epidemic, Falsettoland and March of the Falsettos. Jack Lechner highlights the reasons that, although Falsettos wasn't the first musical to tackle same-sex relationships or even the first musical to tackle the AIDS crisis, the show had a lasting emotional affect on audiences and influenced later works dealing with similar subject matter. Finn's libretto, with James Lapine's direction, lives in authentic ignorance of impending doom through all of Act I, and the familiar character development alongside witty lyrics set the audience up for a jolt when one of the main characters contracts a mysterious illness in Act II. Despite inherent controversies, producers Barry and Fran Weissler attempted to keep the marketing for the show broad to appeal to a wide range of audiences. Though the musical has blazed a trail which can be traced through later works, this chapter notes the equally significant influence Finn has had as an educator of young musical theatre writers and how he continued to develop his unique voice in musicals A New Brain and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Jack Lechner wrote the lyrics for the 2010 off-Broadway musical The Kid. His producing credits in film and TV include The Fog Of War, Blue Valentine, The New Yorker Presents, and the pilot of Mad Men. As an executive at Miramax and Film Four, he was involved in the production and development of dozens of movies, including The Crying Game, Good Will Hunting, and The Full Monty. His book Can't Take My Eyes Off of You was published in 2000, and his picture book Mary Had A Little Lamp in 2008. Jack Lechner is chair of the graduate film program at the Columbia University School of the Arts. SOURCES March of the Falsettos/Falsettoland, Original Broadway Cast Recording. Everyone Dies In Sunderland: A podcast about growing up terrified in the eighties and nineties
In today's show we revisit the time in 1999 when a Northumberland doctor casually admitted to killing 300 people in a local TV interview.I'm genuinely surprised you don't remember.Doctor David Moor was a much loved GP who would often appear in the regional media as a local medical expert. But one such appearance would lead to him facing a murder charge for helping an apparently terminally ill patient to die. But was Britain's approach to end-of-life care what was really on trial? And if this was murder, does that mean the Queen's Granddad got murdered too?40 years earlier another doctor – John Bodkin Adams – had found himself in a similar position. Was Adams a pioneering doctor who changed the face of palliative care? Or was he lethally useless and more of a danger to his patients than their medical conditions? Or he was he, in fact, literally Britain's most prolific serial killer?Along the way, there's an establishment cover-up, clandestine sexual relationships, clay pigeon shooting fatalities and a welcome(ish) return of Gareth reading poetry. We also revisit 1999. Rod Hull dies. Whizzer and Chips is nowhere to be found. Kiwi-flavoured 20/20 is consumed. Everyone talking about epigenomics apparently. Nothing like Prince described it. Trigger warning: This show discusses issues surrounding end of life care and assisted suicide throughout. You can reach us on email everyonediesinsunderland@gmail.com, on Twitter at @everyonediespod, on Facebook and Instagram. Our theme music is usually the song “Steady Away” by Pete Dilley and can be found on his album Half-truths and Hearsay which you can/should buy/stream here: ttps://petedilley.bandcamp.com/album/half-truths-and-hearsay But for a third show in a row it isn't. Hey, if you count the Teen Titan Wasteland episodes (which I do) it's our 100th episode! So, please cut us some slack if this one is a little unpolished, we are very old. Hub and Cory take a look at Defenders #14. It's good! Topics of discussion include: Elmer Fudd-ian SFX, Karate Hugs, time traveling' Cory, creepy doll shenanigans, and some more "The Whizzer" talk! All this, plus our hosts bid a tearful farewell to some beloved friends. Enjoy! Enjoy!
Cory looked too closely at a mysterious smoking brazier, so he's stuck in a mystical realm this week. I'm sure he's fine. In his absence, Hub is joined by tremendous guest co-host Miles Stokes (of Jay and Miles X-plain the X-Men and Thor: The Lightning and the Storm!) Hub and Miles take a look at the delightful Defenders #13 featuring the Squadron Sinister. Topics of discussion include: gongs, taking your magic sword to Home Depot, gongs, the evolution of raccoons in a universe conceived by stoned philosophy students, gongs, and The Whizzer(s)! All this, plus an extended Sartorially Speaking segment, Wong Story Short, and of course...gongs! Enjoy! Enjoy!
Andy talks about a joke that went off the rails and how he learned to respect a superhero with a mighty strange name. Thanks to Chuck for this topic.
Personne.»

Wasp is possessed by the evil Doctor Spectrum's power prism after Hank tries to give it to her as a birthday gift. Many walls are smashed. Then Beast tries to pick up some women, gets caught in a thunderstorm, and falls victim to some idiot calling himself the Manipulator. Can you say fill-in issue? I knew you could...
Meet Graviton, a guy who looks like Dracula with all the personality of an angry sock. He's quite powerful and quite boring. But he does manage to get half the team to leave out of frustration. The few that remain are forced to face the wacky weirdness of the Grim Reaper!
Let's wrap up that Doctor Doom-Namor-Attuma storyline and move on to something more important...fighting a stone statue! Plus, we try out a new format just to see how it feels to have some fun again...
Attuma attacks (for some reason)! The team gets caught up in some shenanigans with Namor, and Dr. Doom...and some other less important people. But worst of all, Vision loses his cape!
We've got a lot of loose ends here: Wanda can fly. Living Laser has the Serpent Crown. Whizzer has returned. Wonder Man is suddenly a good guy. Nuklo is involved as a prisoner of some rogue Army element. None of this is ever fully explained.
This is it! The big anniversary issue to announce the new lineup and its going to...oh wait, never mind, it's mostly reprints. But the next issue has the new lineup and wait, it's written by three people, guest stars Thing and The Champions, and only Beast joins the team? But the next one...ugh...Wonder Man is a zombie and they fight a swamp man in a chicken suit? Oh boy.

Scarlet Witch learns that The Whizzer is her dad. Ultron interrupts the wedding of Crystal and Quicksilver. The Fantastic Four dump their nanny witch in The Avengers' laps causing some creep named Necrodemus to attack. And now Kang is back. Thanks a lot.
In this week’s episode, we discuss bad advice, radio, CBS Radio Mystery Theater, Casey Kasem, Swap and Shop, radio obituaries, bad vacations, Carrowinds, Michael Landon’s hair, and the Ohio bicycle museum. You know it’s a good episode when Rome loses it laughing.
First there was Iron Man which kicked off the Marvel movie universe. Now Marvel and Disney have aired the new TV series to continue events started in The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now, if we, the fans, were writing the episodes, what kinds of wacky adventures might Agent Coulson and his band of intrepid adventurers get into? That is the question that Andy, Mike G, and Jim attempt to answer in Geek Salad episode 88: Don't Touch Lola. The crew take on this task with their usual poise, thoughtfulness, and deep insight. Will Andy bring up the most inadvertently hilarious Marvel superhero, the Whizzer? Will Jim make a DC Cab reference? Will Mike mention the TARDIS? Listen in and see! (BTW, as regular listeners to the show will know, the answer to all three of those questions is 'Absolutely!')
