Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. This was the first WWE stadium event held in Minneapolis and the second SummerSlam overall in the city, after the 1999 event, which took place at the Target Center. It was the first SummerSlam to air on the ESPN streaming service in the United States. This edition of SummerSlam featured the WWE in-ring debut of Nick Aldis on Night 1, which was his first match since October 2023 on the independent circuit.
