You should launch a virtual summit before an online course In this episode of the Diaspora Entrepreneurs Podcast, I'll give you seven reasons why you should launch a virtual summit before an online course. The craze for setting up online courses is baffling. Most times, it's usually done for people to make more revenue while imparting knowledge in others. However, I have questioned people who have online courses about the ease of setting it up. The usual response is that creating an online course isn't very easy, demanding, and expensive. With the information I have gotten from various experts, I compare and contrast a virtual summit and an online course. I have concluded that it is more accessible and more beneficial for people to launch virtual summits than creating online courses. Not to worry, I will tell you why I think my conclusion is legit. Reason 1: You grow and make money simultaneously with a virtual summit Reason 2: Creating content is more comfortable in a virtual summit Reason 3: Online course is time-consuming Reason 4: Promotion is easier with a virtual summit Reason 5: Setting up an online course is more expensive Reason 6: You can set yourself up for a successful online course sale with a virtual summit Reason 7: Visibility from a successful virtual summit opens doors to other opportunities I hope these reasons make sense to you, to avoid putting the cart before the horse and take the right action for your summit and if you want me to be your sound board i do that for new & existing clients and plan ahead to get their VIRTUAL SUMMIT right you can dm or send email to victor@diasporachiefs.com ... On this episode with Kingsley Ijoma the founder of Codehance.com We spoke about everything You Need To Become An Awesome Software Developer. Without Jumping From One YouTube Tutorial To The Next! Many Beginners Struggle To Learn Coding And To Get Better Consistently... (This is why...) The #1 reason beginners struggle to learn to code is because they don’t have access to all the RIGHT course plans and structure to enable deep learning. And, of the free courses they DO find online, they are trained to copy and paste code instead of learning to read/write code. People spend long hours trying to figure out why a code from old youtube video does not work...whilst lacking the foundation knowledge to tackle the problem. This quickly becomes very frustrating and stressful. Six month of Focus can change the trajectory of your life and family. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/victor-osioh/message

Being consistent may not be your major issue But having a bigger vision, a life goal, a major outcome, life or death situation is the main gist. My biggest vision right now is to activate and inspire 5000 Africans and Caribbeans diasporans worldwide in 3 years to move to Africa while leveraging all forms of digital tools to generate mutliple streams of revenue annually. I started this by producing & launching my first summit the Diaspora Entrepreneurs Growth Summit 2019 and that moved me to continue the conversation into podcasting, I started inviting diasporans to share their strategies and also from other backgrounds as I believe there's no monopoly on intelligence or strategy. This vision has propelled me to keep looking for ways to bring about the possibility to reach out to millions of Africans & Caribbeans. 6 Defense Mechanism You Don’t Even Know That You’re Using There are some pretty amazing defense mechanisms in nature. Sea slugs squirt out their own intestines to make a veiled escape. Birds like peacocks and turkeys ruffle their feathers. Small animals like bugs and frogs carry poisons and colors on their backs to scare away predators—or punish stubborn ones. But when it comes to people, there may be a few defense mechanisms you’re using yourself that you barely recognize. #1: Denial: Sometimes an event or circumstance is so cataclysmicly devastating, we just tune it out, and don’t even know we’re doing it. You can become aware of your denial when other people around you call something to your attention. #2: Repression: This is sort of like denial, but it involves burying a thought of feeling deep inside, where it tends to come out in other ways. For example, you could be furious at your boss, and unable to release your anger at work, become vitriolic and argumentative at home. #3: Projection: It’s often easier to ignore our own faults, and pretend like other people have them instead. Projection involves seeing something bad in other people, which may or may not be there (like a negative character trait) when really, you are exhibiting that same trait. #4: Rationalization: This one involves taking a wrongdoing by you on others, or from others onto you) and reasoning it out to be okay. You’ll have to create a complex new system of logic in order to work this one into the universe in an acceptable way, but all sorts of crime from embezzlement to genocide have been rationalized as acceptable. #5: Regression: Regression basically involves taking a step back developmentally, to a space where it’s physically or emotionally safe. Children often regress as they move through life, going through periods where they revert to acting like a younger child. Adults may also undergo this process. For example, after getting fired from a job, you may revert to the safety net of looking for a comparably paying job, instead of searching for something better. #6: Reaction: Sometimes the primal instincts take over, and we get ready to fight. In situations that don’t have a lot of time around them, you can quickly jump into a reactionary mood before reflecting and calming down...for example, if someone cuts you off in traffic, you could step into a mode of road rage; or, if someone argues with you at work, you could quickly defend yourself by escalating the situation into a shouting match. Please get my free gift 5 Simple Ways To Destroy Bad Habits and 5 Quick Ways To Clear Your Mind Of Overwhelm today.
If you have chronically low self-esteem, then there’s a good chance that this came from other people. (Please dont forget to SUBSCRIBE, RATE & REVIVIEW this show and episode.) The nasty thing about insecurity, jealousy and low esteem is that they are contagious. If you aren’t confident in yourself, then it will often cause you to become destructive and mean. You might put other people down in order to feel better about yourself and you might try to prevent others from fulfilling their potential because you don’t want to be left behind – even if this is happening in an unconscious way. At the same time, low self-esteem can mean you talk other people out of taking chances or following their dreams. This is not out of malice: in this case it simply comes down to the fact that you don’t have much faith in the ability that anyone has to change their fate. Chances are that you’ll know people like this in your life and that they could be the reason for your low self-esteem and confidence. Most upsettingly, there is a better-than-average chance that this came from your parents. The number one way to raise a happy and confident child is to love them unconditionally and to believe in them 100% and support them 100%. I got 3, 2 teenagers, You need to be confident in yourself to do this. So, what do you do now if you’re trying to fix your low self esteem but you’re surrounded by people who are dragging you down? The Best Advice The tip you’ll often read is that you should simply cut off contact with toxic or destructive people. I’ll say that you should take this advice if anyone is being purposefully cruel or belittling. You don’t have time in your life for malicious people. But if someone is doing it unintentionally, you shouldn’t just write them off: chances are they simply need help. What you do in the meantime is to surround yourself with more people who are positive, supportive and who do love you unconditionally and can help you focus forward. And you always remember to view what the toxic, negative people say through a lens of logic and reason. If they are putting you down, is it because they have a genuine point? Or is it because they themselves have low esteem? Finally, try to build them up too. That means you should ask them why they feel the way they do and do everything to support them. You can pull each other out of this funk, that is what friends are for after all! Send me a quick email victor@diasporachiefs.com lets talk about How to move you forward, so we can strategies on action steps and be responsible to make it a reality. On this episode, i spoke about the 2 ATTITUDES that has the power to change our lives instantly - Responsibility & Blame Many people, when they hear the word Responsibility, immediately associate it with burden or having to carry a load. Ironically, it is exactly the opposite. Responsibility leads to Freedom. When i took on these perspectives that created a situation, you can change or optimize it. With this realization comes a feeling of power and freedom. However, if you take on the perspective that someone or something else caused the situation, then you have NO ability to change it and you are left feeling powerless and resentful. When we are blaming someone or something else, we are actually giving our power away and putting ourselves in the position of being a victim. You see, if every situation is completely the fault of someone or something else, then our hands are bound. We have no choice but to accept it. When we choose to blame, we choose burden. If, however, we decide that every situation is something that we created, then we are back in control. I made a choice a few years ago, which tore my family apart for over 3 years and I made a conscious decision to make amends and take full responsibility for my actions and today we are better than ever. I could start blaming everyone else for my family breaking apart. We can make choices, which will change or at least modify the situation. When we choose to take responsibility, we choose freedom. Responsibility = Freedom + Empowerment Blame = Loss of Freedom + Disempowerment Send me a quick email victor@diasporachiefs.com lets talk about your amazing ideas, so we can strategies on action steps and be responsible to make it a reality.

Recognise Your Limiting Beliefs The three most common areas of limiting beliefs center on issues of Discouragement helplessness and worthlessness. These three areas of belief can exert a great deal of influence with respect to a person’s mental and physical health. Discouragement occurs when someone does not believe a particular desired goal is even possible. State of being Hopelessness It is characterized by a sense that, “No matter what I do it won’t make a difference. What I want is not possible to get. It’s out of my control. I’m a victim.” Felling Incompetent these occurs when, even though he or she believes that the outcome exists and is possible to achieve, a person does not believe that he or she is capable of attaining it. State of being Helplessness It produces a sense that, “It’s possible for others to achieve this goal but not for me. I’m not good enough or capable enough to accomplish it.” Feeling Unimportant it occurs when, even though a person may believe that the desired goal is possible and that he or she even has the capability to accomplish it, that individual believes that he or she doesn’t deserve to get what he/she wants. State of being Worthlessness It is often characterized by a sense that, “I am a fake. I don’t belong. I don’t deserve to be happy or healthy. There is something basically and fundamentally wrong with me as a person and I deserve the pain and suffering that I am experiencing.” Speak to someone TODAY, send me a quick email victor@diasporachiefs.com lets talk about your amazing ideas. For many of us, our productivity is one of the most essential qualities that we can actively improve. Being productive means that you'll be able to get measurable stuff done. A common misconception about productivity is that you have to work harder, take fewer breaks, and spend more time at work. However, most of the time, our productivity is ruined by the long-term habits that we hold. Here are some of the most common ways that you are sabotaging your productivity. 1. Attending Too Many Meetings, suggest a scrum based meeting upto 7 people, 10-15 mins max in the morning Meetings are nothing more than team-based productivity killers. They bring in too many people for a conversation that takes way too long, ends up going nowhere, and most likely wasn't even necessary. If you find that you being invited to too many meetings, have an honest conversation about the appropriateness of you being included in the conference. Ask about the nature of the meeting and request an agenda so they can stay on track. 2. Forgetting to Set Priorities, You now work from home, new environment It can be easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of responsibilities and tasks, those litle annoying chores you just want to take care off in the bathroom or garden, Before you know it you've reached the end of your day, and you still haven't tackled the critical work. Setting and organizing priorities in advance can help you resolve this issue. With a clear priority system, you can determine which tasks demand your attention and which ones you can ignore for the moment. 3. Refusing to Try a New System, which tech or digital tools you loved to hate Many people will sabotage their productivity merely because they are so deeply ingrained in a system that they've always used. You have a set routine, a set system, and you're scared to alter them because it has worked. If you want to be or increase your productivity in this era, you need to experiment with new routines, processes, and make small tweaks. Eventually, you'll find a better system that will allow you to increase your productivity. If you hate emojis start loving them and give someone a virtual fits bump today. 4. Failing to Learn from your Mistakes, nobody knows where we we heading right now, so embrase mistake If you try an approach for a specific task and it results in you spending half your day to accomplish a relatively simple goal, then you need to try a different approach the next time you are faced with the task. Failing to learn from your mistakes will cost you precious time, and you will become doomed to continue to repeat those mistakes. If you find that you are committing one or more of these acts of sabotage, take comfort in the knowledge that you aren't alone. Now that you know how they affect your productivity, you can take steps to eliminate their influence on your life. Keeley Taverner Founder / Director - Key4Change Practitioners Psychotherapist, Coach and Supervisor Keeley was born in the UK to a first-generation black Jamaican mother and a white British father. Her parents split up when she was three years and she lived with her mother on a North-West London council estate. Her childhood was challenging in an environment where as Keeley puts it, “Expectations were low, teenage pregnancy was high and our schools housed us rather than engineered our minds for greatness. As a result, she left school with no qualifications or prospects and in turn, no ambition or self-belief. By 1997, Keeley was a cashier on Ikea’s checkout line and a mother to two young daughters. She was also in an abusive narcissistic relationship and began reading self-help books. Keeley experienced a ‘yellow bag’ epiphany when retrieving abandoned stock at the tills. An inner voice that simply said, ‘surely you can do better than this Keeley’? Keeley believed that inner voice and from that moment on she has has taken bold, passionate, couragous steps to change her life. Keeley has definitely walked the walk and is priviledged that today she helps others who want to do the same. Keeley is much more than a ‘book smart’ psychotherapist. Her transition from victim to victor, from unskilled cashier to straight-talking, no nonsense psychotherapist and Director of Key for Change is testament to her grit and determination to rise up, against the odds and to become her greatest self. Samit Patel Kickstarter consultant & Crowdfunding expert www.samitpatel.net When I first started helping founders launch new products, I quickly discovered that the industry was rather… murky. It seemed like everybody had a secret that they wouldn’t tell anyone. Agencies would run ads from their own accounts. Founders were always kept out of the loop. Then and there, I decided that when I started my own agency, it would be different. My mission was to help founders find the funding they need to develop groundbreaking projects, but with total transparency. Founders would have access to everything we do. I also wanted to develop relationships that would last; to be in it for the long haul. Enjoy this amazing conversation of Samit and I, also as bonus you can download my FREE Develop Mental Clarity ebook and podcast updates from me to you.
