For our latest episode of Real Wealth, Real Health, we’re continuing with our theme of exploring the benefits of passive real estate investing, as we welcome Alina Trigub, Managing Partner of SAMO Financial. In this instructive & informative episode, we hear about Alina’s arrival in America as an immigrant, and how she worked her way to success, first as a public (then private) accountant, and then making the jump to information technology. In search of a way to lower her yearly tax bill, Alina found passive real estate investing by far the best option and used syndications as the vehicle to do so. Alina’s early experiences with investing taught her that sponsor selection and proper due diligence are paramount to ensuring a deal performs as advertised. Having learned the ropes, Alina sought to make passive investing through syndications more accessible to everyone, and founded SAMO Financial, a firm focused on helping people build wealth for themselves, their families, and generations to come. As we explore the world of passive investing, Alina provides excellent insights into the details she examines when evaluating a potential sponsor or new deal. We cover the importance of transparency from a sponsor, what to look for in their track record, and how to examine materials with a healthy dose of skepticism. Furthermore, we talk about how she examines a sponsor’s underwriting model, diligence materials, and business plan for any given asset. Finally, we also look at how real estate investing can offer different advantages relative to the needs or preferences of an investor, the major advantages offered by passive investments in real estate, especially from a tax perspective, and Alina’s personal view on the definition of Wealth. Key Insights: · How passively investing in real estate through syndications can provide significant tax benefits, while helping establish a diversified portfolio outside of Wall St. · How to go through the process of selecting the right real estate sponsor, including tips on performing thorough due diligence · Some of the key points to pay attention to when examining a sponsor’s track record · How the demographic and employment qualities of a market/submarket can affect demand, and consequently the performance of an asset · Why looking at IRR alone can be a deceiving way to evaluate real estate deals · The importance of a nimble & well-researched business strategy in any given investment Subscribe to this podcast to build your healthy financial foundation through expertise, insights, strategies, tactics, wisdom, and inspiration from Alpha Investing’s community of professionals, advisors, investors, and members: Apple — Spotify — Google — TuneIn — Stitcher Guest Bio: Alina is the founder and Managing Partner of SAMO Financial. Tim & Steve discuss Patrick Mahome's new contract extension that will pay him $45MM per season in dynasty Owner starting in 2021. We also explain How Dynasty Owner contract extensions work so that you can have peace of mind on the next steps in managing your roster should you own Pat Mahomes or another player with an expiring contract. How do new contracts and contract extensions work?As the owner of a player, you get first rights to keep the player. All player contracts will be frozen during the 17-week NFL regular season when the 1st snap of the 1st regular-season NFL game is taken. Including, Contracts that are fully replaced (not extension) during the 17-week NFL regular season will not take effect until after the 17 week season has concluded.*The exception will be for Free Agents that are waived by their NFL team. Free agents that are cut or unsigned to an NFL team at any time will carry over their previous salary with a zero-year contract. When a contract extension is executed, the contract extension will not kick in until the following season. The contracts for each player with a contract extension from 2020 will be updated when the new league starts on March 18th, 2021.What is Dynasty Owner? Dynasty Owner is not your average fantasy football. You may have your DraftKings and Fanduels of the world but we are year-round and put you right in the seat of the Owner, Coach, and GM. Fantasy footballers all over have been wanting a game like this and you may have even heard our name from Christopher Harris or even the Dynasty Nerds podcast. We use real NFL contracts and salaries in our game so when something changes here in the real world it affects your team for the year. www.adamispharmaceuticals.com “Strong Buy” 12-month Price Target of $15 - $18 indicates a potential price gain of 224% to 269%* 22-page research report by Harbinger Research details Investment Opportunity, Valuation Comparables... includes Profit and Loss Models thru FY2022. Brian Connell, CFA Investment Highlights: Net $23.7 million in recent funding and NASDAQ up-listing constitutes “Major Corporate Milestones” – institutional and retail visibility greatly enhanced. First product (Epinephrine Pre-filled Syringe) ready for FDA 505(B)(2) filing soon - early ’15 approval likely, leading to $30 - $50 million in annual sales over next 2 – 3 years. Completed purchase of the 3M Taper Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) technology in December 2013 – creating potential branded generic competitor for Glaxo-SmithKline (NYSE: GSK) and its $7.7 billion global market. Two additional products will likely receive FDA approval in 2016 and 2017 - eventual annual revenues of $30 million or more expected for each. Revenues starting in FY2015, with rapid growth in FY2016, FY2017 and FY2018 - estimated at $16.75MM, $49.45MM and $93.12MM, respectively – all subject to FDA approvals and market conditions of course, but Adamis has certainly turned the corner as a “Developing Specialty Pharmaceuticals Co.” Four early stage biotech products focused on the treatment of prostate cancer - given that the Company’s current priority is “to get to market” with its specialty pharma products, the biotech segment could create a win-fall for investors through a spin-out, IPO, sale to a larger biotech firm, or through royalties/marketing partnerships. It’s like a free-call option for informed investors. Company Overview: Adamis is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development and commercialization of specialty pharmaceutical and biotechnology products in the therapeutic areas of respiratory disease, allergy, oncology and immunology. ADMP is developing low cost therapeutic alternatives for the treatment of anaphylaxis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and allergic rhinitis. Within the Company's biotechnology pipeline is a novel cell-based therapeutic cancer vaccine and three drug candidates for the treatment of prostate cancer. *Based on market close, March 19, 2014
