On this episode of Ford News, Johnathan and Brian react to Vice President Kamala Harris's loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Johnathan lays out the hows and whys of Kamala's election loss. While some odd things did happen, like voters checking the boxes for all Dems, except for Harris on their ballot, the guys don't want to hear from conspiracy theorists and advise Dems not to fall down the "Stop the Steal" rabbit hole. In Segment Two, Johnathan addresses the multiple legal cases in which President-Elect Donald Trump is involved. What will happen to those cases? We're pretty sure the federal cases brought by Jack Smith will go away, but the state cases may be a different story. The "Ford Fact Check" is back in Segment Three. This week Johnathan is fact-checking the multiple things that MAGA folks may have buyer's remorse about, including Tariffs and the possible repeal of the ACA (Obamacare). World Without Parler, Day 16: America in Crisis (or at least this American) If you were on Parler, you can follow this podcast on Getter, @LRPodcast. We're coming up on the third anniversary of the Liberty Relearned (LR) Podcast. Just as one assault on our freedoms due to the ACA (Obamacare) prompted me to launch LibertyRelearned.com eight years ago, another crisis of our freedoms prompted me to launch this podcast in May of 2020. At that time, we were in the depths of the Covid hysteria and the truncation of our rights that came with it. Soon after, were the riots, looting, and arson that surrounded the Geroge Floyd protesters. After Alvin Bragg took a sledgehammer to the idea of equal justice when he indicted former president Trump, now Soros-backed prosecutor is on the radar of Conservatives, and fans of law and justice in general, St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, and not in a good way. An article in Just the News decribes that a St. Louis judge to appoint special attorney in contempt case against Soros-backed prosecutor. Soros apparently believes that too many people of color are being accused and convicted of crimes, so he's decided in the name of equity, to back with millions of dollars, prosecutors and DA's that won't be hard on crime and in prosecuting less criminals, create equity for what are believed to be oppressed minorities. His approach fails to protect the victims, many of whom are also people of color and their communities. Far away from the reality of the dystopia they've helped create, and insulated from their bad decisions, the leftist elite see you as just a notional being, something to be manipulated and controlled with their perverse carrot-and-stick approach. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jp-mac/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jp-mac/support

Your Heard Tell for Friday, May 6th, 2022, is turning down the noise and getting to the information we need on the Biden Administration's post-Roe plans, as the "Alito draft" has reportedly sent the White House scrambling to coordinate a messaging response while finding itself with limited options. We turn down the noise on the hot mess that is the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial, and talk about how some folks reaction and the culture and news media obsession over celebrity trials is feeding an unhealthy form of fandom. Guest Elise Amez-Droz of Young Voices joins to talk about healthcare, the particulars that make the American system both great in many ways but insufficient in others, the role of employeer-based insurance, and affects of ACA/Obamacare 12 years later. Elise also talks about the regulatory healthcare time bomb that is set to go off in 2026, legislative challenges, and the role of expanding Medicare/Medicaid, plus she talks about what we should and shouldn't be focusing on in the healthcare debate. Also, we cover some writing by our friend Dennis Sanders on the death of "the big tent" and how social media and politics are combining to not only narrow folk's information silos but increase, in his words, not just the mean but the dumb and mean. Plus, the story of a Door Dash delivery that served up medical aid and saved a life. Nothing has shined a light on the crisis in institutions like the arrival of COVID on the American shores in late 2019. Between administrative blunders and an overwhelmed hospital system, the United States private healthcare system was no match for the virus. When the then presidential hopeful, Joe Biden was on the campaign trail during the Democratic primary, he ran on adding a public option to the already existing ACA (Obamacare). Can COVID finally be the gateway to socialized medicine in the United States? What is “Medicare for All” and is it really an end to the for-profit healthcare system? Dr. Eric D. Osgood is an internist in Trenton, New Jersey and is affiliated with St. Francis Medical Center-Trenton. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and has been in practice between 6-10 years. Thank you, guys, again for taking the time to check this out. California v Texas (2021) was a United States Supreme Court case that dealt with the constitutionality of the 2010 Affordable Care Act (ACA), colloquially known as Obamacare. It was the third such challenge to the ACA seen by the Supreme Court since its passage. The case in California followed after the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and the change to the tax penalty amount for Americans without required insurance that reduced the "individual mandate" to zero, effective for months after December 31, 2018. The District Court of the Northern District of Texas concluded that this individual mandate was a critical provision of the ACA and that, with a penalty amount equal to zero, some or all of the ACA was potentially unconstitutional as an improper use of Congress's taxation powers. Under the Donald Trump administration, the federal government had declined to challenge the lower court ruling, leading California and several other states to intervene and appeal the ruling, which the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals granted. The Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld the ruling that the individual mandate was unconstitutional but determined that the mandate might be severable from the rest of the ACA. Both California and Texas petitioned review of the Fifth's decision to the Supreme Court; the Court consolidated both California v Texas and Texas v California under the same case. In a 7–2 decision issued on June 17, 2021, the Supreme Court ruled that Texas and other states that initially challenged the individual mandate did not have standing, as they had not shown past or future injury related to the provision. The Supreme Court otherwise did not rule on the constitutionality of the individual mandate in this case. Background. The ACA (Obamacare) was passed in 2010 under Democratic leadership in both houses of Congress and signed by President Barack Obama. Among many of its provisions, it provided programs for states to provide free or low-cost health insurance to low-income residents through programs like Medicare and Medicaid. ACA encouraged all Americans to have health insurance and as part of this, created an income tax penalty for those that did not have health insurance, otherwise known as the "individual mandate". Passage of the ACA was controversial, and remained an issue that was divided along political lines, with Democrats seeing the law as promoting the public good and Republicans seeing it as a tax burden. The law had been challenged in courts multiple times, with the Supreme Court having seen two cases previously. Notably, in 2012, the Court ruled 5–4 in National Federation of Independent Business v Sebelius that the individual mandate was constitutional as a granted power of Congress under the Taxing and Spending Clause. In 2016, the Republican Party held control of both the House and Senate and gained control of the Executive branch with the election of President Donald Trump. Trump had campaigned on the promise of replacing the ACA once in office, and repealing the law was one of the early targets of the Republicans, but early efforts failed by mid-2017 due to in-party disputes, specifically the deciding vote which was to come from Senator John McCain was denied the Republican Party due to the fact that a promised replacement plan was not forthcoming. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

The Supreme Court's term is supposed to end at the end of June, so they're announcing their decisions on the remaining 20 or so cases they haven't yet ruled on over the next few weeks. Today we got three, including third SCOTUS challenge to the ACA (Obamacare). Today's Thursday, so it's Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC. They've endorsed Chris Larson, who just jumped in the race to challenge Ron Johnson. Larson will join Howie and me. We'll refresh your memory about Larson, who was a hero in 2011 in fighting back against then-WI Gov Scott Walker.

Joe Biden's energy advisor, Amos Hochstein, championed the MERP program in a Senate hearing in July 2014, about three months before Burisma landed the MOU with USAID. Hochstein testified that MERP was part of a multi-pronged U.S. effort by the Obama administration to make Ukraine more energy-independent from Russia by producing its own gas while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. "It is critical that Ukraine reduce the country’s energy intensity," he told senators during the testimony. Episode #5: Is health insurance keeping you at a job for security? As a real estate entrepreneur, I've been self-employed for 16+ years, and here's what my family and I do for health insurance. UPDATE AS OF 1/2019: Since recording this video, our family also considered lower-cost alternatives to the ACA ("Obamacare") exchange like catastrophic health insurance coverage that does not meet ACA requirements. With the revoking of the "individual mandate" in the 2017 tax reform, this option has become more attractive because we use medical care so rarely and earn too much to receive subsidies. But for now, we're sticking with the Obamacare exchange at $1,280/mo for a family of 4 on a bronze plan. --------------------------
Well this is growing up, and we're talking about some “adult” topics. Nah, nothing dirty, but it's about how content can be limited soon on YouTube due to Article 13. And some creators could lose their creative jobs from this law. If that isn't enough to make you upset, then realize that your beloved MEMES will be drastically reduced because of this law. Now we totally have your attention. We also talk about healthcare and insurance. Yuck. Too adult. Sure it is, but it's important to know about your options for health coverage, and a info about how ACA (Obamacare) works. Especially for those who are musicians, merch managers, content creators, writers, etc. If you fall into any of these categories, or even just work part-time and don't get insurance through work, what do you do to for coverage (if any?). Tim Rice, deputy director of Health Policy at the Manhattan Institute says for people who are looking for an affordable health insurance alternative rather than a plan covered by the ACA (Obamacare) should consider short-term health coverage plans. He explains the huge difference in premiums because short-term plans do not cover as many things as are mandated by the ACA, and that's why many Democrats don't like the short-term coverage.

In Part 2 of our two-parter first installment of Riverside Chats, host Jaye Pool is joined by her husband Chuckles as they share with listeners just a little bit of their lively political conversations - as a couple with differing political views. Today's episode includes a conversation about the usefulness of historical parallels to describe current political conditions. Jaye and Chuckles discuss the politics of fear and the framing of today's leadership in reference to past events. Do even hyperbolic comparisons have value in political discourse? The Riverside Chats special format is brought to Potstirrer Podcast on occasion to include some diversity of thought to the show and to encourage learning and discussion outside of the "echo chambers" of the right and the left. The Senate has just released a draft of their version of Trumpcare - and it is no better than the House version. This is an $800 billion cash grab and will leave more people uninsured than BEFORE the ACA (Obamacare). In other words - this is worse than health care was before the ACA was even enacted. Call your senators NOW and tell them to vote NO on the BCRA/AHCA (Trumpcare). Listeners - we encourage you to share your reactions and thoughts about the topics we present on the show on our social media and to share your ideas of topics for future episodes. We love hearing from you - thank you for your support! Music: Raga Rage composed by Noisy Oyster provided by freesoundtrackmusic.com Opus Number 1 composed by Derrick Deel and Tim Carleton

This week we talk about the horrible first week that was Donald Trump's first as POTUS. We discuss him trying to repeal the ACA/Obamacare, making it harder for home buyers, the wall, restarting the Dakota Pipeline, possible Marshall Law in Chicago and much more. Yeah. Tough week. Ben Sasse, US Senate candidate from Nebraska says that Obama has put us in a constitutional crisis. In fact, he has just released a YouTube video on the topic. By attempting to amend the ACA (Obamacare) by executive fiat, he has committed yet another impeachable offense. Green energy is not about being "green." It is in fact harming the environment, redistributing wealth into the hands of crony capitalists, and killing wildlife. Whether wind, solar, or biofuel, damage is done when projects are launched without a solid scientific and economic basis. What is the liberal mindset? It seems that liberals, when confronted with the facts, refuse to admit the truth. We will review some sound clips from various shows to prove it. Do you have a brain? Do you have an opinion?
